1. యెహోవా మోషేకు ఈలాగున సెలవిచ్చెను

1. Then spake Yahweh unto Moses, saying:

2. నేను ఇశ్రాయేలీయులకు ఇచ్చుచున్న కనానుదేశమును సంచరించి చూచుటకు నీవు మనుష్యులను పంపుము. వారి పితరుల గోత్రములలో ఒక్కొక్క దాని నుండి ఒక్కొక్క మనుష్యుని మీరు పంపవలెను; వారిలో ప్రతివాడు ప్రధానుడై యుండవలెను.

2. Send for thee men and let them spy out the land of Canaan, which I am giving unto the sons of Israel, one man each for the tribe of his fathers, shalt thou send, each one a prince among them.

3. మోషే యెహోవా మాట విని, పారాను అరణ్యమునుండి వారిని పంపెను. వారందరు ఇశ్రాయేలీయులలో ముఖ్యులు.

3. So then Moses sent them out of the desert of Paran, at the bidding of Yahweh, all of them, great men, heads of the seas of Israel, were they.

4. వారి పేళ్లు ఏవనగారూబేను గోత్రమునకు

4. And, these, are their names, Of the tribe of Reuben, Shammua, son of Zaccur;

5. జక్కూరు కుమారుడైన షమ్మూయ; షిమ్యోను గోత్రమునకు హోరీ కుమారుడైన షాపాతు;

5. Of the tribe of Simeon, Shaphat, son of Hori;

6. యూదా గోత్రమునకు యెఫున్నె కుమారుడైన కాలేబు;

6. Of the tribe of Judah, Caleb, son of Jephunneh;

7. ఇశ్శాఖారు గోత్రమునకు యోసేపు కుమారుడైన ఇగాలు;

7. Of the tribe of Issachar, Igal, son of Joseph;

8. ఎఫ్రాయిము గోత్రమునకు నూను కుమారుడైన హోషేయ;

8. Of the tribe of Ephraim, Hoshea, son of Nun;

9. బెన్యామీను గోత్రమునకు రాఫు కుమారుడైన పల్తీ;

9. Of the tribe of Benjamin, Palti, son of Raphu;

10. జెబూలూను గోత్రమునకు సోరీ కుమారుడైన గదీయేలు;

10. Of the tribe of Zebulun, Gaddiel, son of Sodi;

11. యోసేపు గోత్రమునకు, అనగా మనష్షే గోత్రమునకు సూసీ కుమారుడైన గదీ;

11. Of the tribe of Joseph of the tribe of Manasseh, Gaddi son of Susi;

12. దాను గోత్రమునకు గెమలి కుమారుడైన అమీ్మయేలు;

12. Of the tribe of Dan, Ammiel, son of Gemalli;

13. ఆషేరు గోత్రమునకు మిఖాయేలు కుమారుడైన సెతూరు;

13. Of the tribe of Asher, Sethur, son of Michael;

14. నఫ్తాలి గోత్రమునకు వాపెసీ కుమారుడైన నహబీ;

14. Of the tribe of Naphtali, Nahbi, son of Vophsi;

15. గాదు గోత్రమునకు మాకీ కుమారుడైన గెయువేలు అనునవి.

15. Of the tribe of Gad, Geuel, son of Machi.

16. దేశమును సంచరించి చూచుటకు మోషే పంపిన మనుష్యుల పేళ్లు ఇవి. మోషే నూను కుమారుడైన హోషేయకు యెహోషువ అను పేరు పెట్టెను.

16. These, are the names of the men, whom Moses sent to spy out the land, but Moses called Hoshea son of Nun, Joshua.

17. మోషే కనానుదేశమును సంచరించి చూచుటకు వారిని పంపినప్పుడు వారితో ఇట్లనెను మీరు ధైర్యము తెచ్చుకొని దాని దక్షిణదిక్కున ప్రవేశించి ఆ కొండ యెక్కి ఆ దేశము ఎట్టిదో

17. So Moses sent them, to spy out the land of Canaan, and said unto them Go up, here in the South, Yea ye shall go up the mountain;

18. దానిలో నివసించు జనము బలముగలదో బలములేనిదో, కొంచెమైనదో విస్తారమైనదో

18. And shall see the land, what it is, And the people that dwell thereupon, Whether they are, strong, or weak, Whether they are, few or many;

19. వారు నివసించు భూమి యెట్టిదో అది మంచిదో చెడ్డదో, వారు నివసించు పట్టణములు ఎట్టివో, వారు గుడారములలో నివసించుదురో, కోటలలో నివసించుదురో, ఆ భూమి సారమైనదో నిస్సారమైనదో,

19. And what, the land, is, wherein they dwell, Whether it is, good, or, bad, And the cities within which they dwell, Whether in camps or in strongholds;

20. దానిలో చెట్లున్నవో లేవో కనిపెట్టవలెను. మరియు మీరు ఆ దేశపు పండ్లలో కొన్ని తీసికొనిరండని చెప్పెను. అది ద్రాక్షల ప్రథమ పక్వకాలము

20. And what the land is, Whether, fat, or, lean, Whether there is timber therein or is not, Then shall ye pluck up courage and take of the fruit of the land. Now the days, were the days of the first-fruits of grapes.

21. కాబట్టి వారు వెళ్లి సీను అరణ్యము మొదలుకొని హమాతుకు పోవు మార్గముగా రెహోబువరకు దేశసంచారముచేసి చూచిరి.

21. So they went up, and spied out the land, from the wilderness of Zin unto Rehob at the entering in of Hamath.

22. వారు దక్షిణదిక్కున ప్రయాణముచేసి హెబ్రోనుకు వచ్చిరి. అక్కడ అనాకీయులు అహీమాను షేషయి తల్మయి అను వారుండిరి. ఆ హెబ్రోను ఐగుప్తులోని సోయనుకంటె ఏడేండ్లు ముందుగా కట్టబడెను.

22. Yea they went up in the South and entered as far as Hebron, and there, were Ahiman Sheshai and Talmai descendants of the Anak. Now, Hebron, was built seven years, before Zoan of Egypt.

23. వారు ఎష్కోలు లోయలోనికి వచ్చి అక్కడ ఒక్క గెలగల ద్రాక్షచెట్టు యొక్క కొమ్మను కోసి దండెతో ఇద్దరు మోసిరి. మరియు వారు కొన్ని దానిమ్మపండ్లను కొన్ని అంజూరపు పండ్లను తెచ్చిరి.

23. And they entered as far as the ravine of Eschol, and cut down, from thence a branch with one cluster of gropes, and bare it on a pole between two, also of the pomegranates and of the figs.

24. ఇశ్రాయేలీయులు అక్కడ కోసిన ద్రాక్ష గెలనుబట్టి ఆ స్థలమునకు ఎష్కోలు లోయ అను పేరు పెట్టబడెను.

24. That place, was called, The Ravine of Eschol on account of the cluster, which was cut down from thence by the sons of Israel.

25. వారు నలుబది దినములు ఆ దేశమును సంచరించి చూచి తిరిగి వచ్చిరి.

25. And they returned from spying out the land, at the end of forty days.

26. అట్లు వారు వెళ్లి పారాను అరణ్యమందలి కాదేషులోనున్న మోషే అహరోనులయొద్దకును ఇశ్రాయేలీయుల సర్వసమాజమునొద్దకును వచ్చి, వారికిని ఆ సర్వ సమాజమునకును సమాచారము తెలియచెప్పి ఆ దేశపు పండ్లను వారికి చూపించిరి.

26. So they took their journey, and came in unto Moses and unto Aaron and unto all the assembly of the sons of Israel into the wilderness of Paran, towards Kadesh, and brought back word unto them and unto all the assembly, and showed them the fruit of the land.

27. వారు అతనికి తెలియపరచినదేమనగా నీవు మమ్మును పంపిన దేశమునకు వెళ్లితివిు; అది పాలు తేనెలు ప్రవహించు దేశమే; దాని పండ్లు ఇవి.

27. And they recounted unto him, and said, We entered into the land whither thou didst send us, and surely it doth flow with milk and honey, and, this, is the fruit thereof.

28. అయితే ఆ దేశములో నివసించు జనులు బలవంతులు; వారి పట్టణములు ప్రాకారముగలవి అవి మిక్కిలి గొప్పవి; మరియు అక్కడ అనాకీయులను చూచితివిు.

28. Nevertheless surely mighty, are the people that dwell in the land, and, the cities, walled in, exceeding great, moreover also, the descendants of the

29. అమాలేకీయులు దక్షిణ దేశములో నివసించుచున్నారు; హిత్తీయులు యెబూసీయులు అమోరీయులు కొండ దేశములో నివసించుచున్నారు; కనానీయులు సముద్రమునొద్దను యొర్దాను నదీప్రాంతములలోను నివసించుచున్నారని చెప్పిరి.

29. Anak, saw we there. Amalek, dwelleth in the land of the South; And, the Hittite, and the Jebusite and the Amorite, dwell in the mountain And the Canaanite, dwelleth by the sea, and by the side of the Jordan.

30. కాలేబు మోషే యెదుట జనులను నిమ్మళ పరచిమనము నిశ్చయముగా వెళ్లుదుము; దాని స్వాధీనపరచుకొందుము; దాని జయించుటకు మన శక్తి చాలుననెను.

30. And Caleb stilled the people unto Moses, and said unto them Let us go straight up, and possess it, for we shall, surely prevail, against it.

31. అయితే అతనితో కూడ పోయిన ఆ మనుష్యులు ఆ జనులు మనకంటె బలవంతులు; మనము వారి మీదికి పోజాలమనిరి.

31. But the men who went up with him said, We cannot go up against the people, for stronger, are they than we.

32. మరియు వారు తాము సంచరించి చూచిన దేశమునుగూర్చి ఇశ్రాయేలీయులతో చెడ్డ సమాచారము చెప్పి మేము సంచరించి చూచిన దేశము తన నివాసులను భక్షించు దేశము; దానిలో మాకు కనబడిన జనులందరు ఉన్నత దేహులు.

32. So they sent forth a rumour of the land which they had spied out, among the sons of Israel, saying, As touching the land through which we passed to spy it out, it is, land that eateth up them who dwell therein, And all the people that we saw in the midst thereof, were men of great stature.

33. అక్కడ నెఫీలీయుల సంబంధులైన అనాకు వంశపు నెఫీలీయులను చూచితివిు; మా దృష్ఠికి మేము మిడతలవలె ఉంటిమి, వారి దృష్ఠికిని అట్లే ఉంటిమనిరి.

33. And, there, saw we the giants, sons of Anak descended of the giants, And we were in our own eyes, as grass-hoppers, And, so, were we in their eyes.
