1. యెహోవా మోషేకు ఈలాగున సెలవిచ్చెను

2. నేను ఇశ్రాయేలీయులకు ఇచ్చుచున్న కనానుదేశమును సంచరించి చూచుటకు నీవు మనుష్యులను పంపుము. వారి పితరుల గోత్రములలో ఒక్కొక్క దాని నుండి ఒక్కొక్క మనుష్యుని మీరు పంపవలెను; వారిలో ప్రతివాడు ప్రధానుడై యుండవలెను.

2. And there the Lord spak to Moises,

3. మోషే యెహోవా మాట విని, పారాను అరణ్యమునుండి వారిని పంపెను. వారందరు ఇశ్రాయేలీయులలో ముఖ్యులు.

3. and seide, Sende thou men that schulen biholde the lond of Canaan, which Y schal yyue to the sones of Israel, of ech lynage o man of the princes.

4. వారి పేళ్లు ఏవనగారూబేను గోత్రమునకు

4. Moises dide that that the Lord comaundide, and sente fro the deseert of Pharan princes, men of whiche these ben the names.

5. జక్కూరు కుమారుడైన షమ్మూయ; షిమ్యోను గోత్రమునకు హోరీ కుమారుడైన షాపాతు;

5. Of the lynage of Ruben, Semmya, the sone of Zectur.

6. యూదా గోత్రమునకు యెఫున్నె కుమారుడైన కాలేబు;

6. Of the lynage of Symeon, Saphat, the sone of Hury.

7. ఇశ్శాఖారు గోత్రమునకు యోసేపు కుమారుడైన ఇగాలు;

7. Of the lynage of Juda, Caleph, the sone of Jephone.

8. ఎఫ్రాయిము గోత్రమునకు నూను కుమారుడైన హోషేయ;

8. Of the lynage of Isachar, Igal, the sone of Joseph.

9. బెన్యామీను గోత్రమునకు రాఫు కుమారుడైన పల్తీ;

9. Of the lynage of Effraym, Osee, the sone of Nun.

10. జెబూలూను గోత్రమునకు సోరీ కుమారుడైన గదీయేలు;

10. Of the lynage of Beniamyn, Phalti, the sone of Raphu.

11. యోసేపు గోత్రమునకు, అనగా మనష్షే గోత్రమునకు సూసీ కుమారుడైన గదీ;

11. Of the lynage of Zabulon, Gediel, the sone of Sodi.

12. దాను గోత్రమునకు గెమలి కుమారుడైన అమీ్మయేలు;

12. Of the lynage of Joseph, of the gouernaunce of Manasses, Gaddi, the sone of Susy.

13. ఆషేరు గోత్రమునకు మిఖాయేలు కుమారుడైన సెతూరు;

13. Of the lynage of Dan, Amyel, the sone of Gemalli.

14. నఫ్తాలి గోత్రమునకు వాపెసీ కుమారుడైన నహబీ;

14. Of the lynage of Aser, Sur, the sone of Mychael.

15. గాదు గోత్రమునకు మాకీ కుమారుడైన గెయువేలు అనునవి.

15. Of the lynage of Neptalym, Nabdi, the sone of Napsi.

16. దేశమును సంచరించి చూచుటకు మోషే పంపిన మనుష్యుల పేళ్లు ఇవి. మోషే నూను కుమారుడైన హోషేయకు యెహోషువ అను పేరు పెట్టెను.

16. Of the lynage of Gad, Guel, the sone of Machi.

17. మోషే కనానుదేశమును సంచరించి చూచుటకు వారిని పంపినప్పుడు వారితో ఇట్లనెను మీరు ధైర్యము తెచ్చుకొని దాని దక్షిణదిక్కున ప్రవేశించి ఆ కొండ యెక్కి ఆ దేశము ఎట్టిదో

17. These ben the names of men, which Moises sente to biholde the lond of Canaan; and he clepide Osee, the sone of Nun, Josue.

18. దానిలో నివసించు జనము బలముగలదో బలములేనిదో, కొంచెమైనదో విస్తారమైనదో

18. Therfor Moises sente hem to biholde the lond of Canaan, and seide to hem, `Stie ye bi the south coost; and whanne ye comen to the hillis,

19. వారు నివసించు భూమి యెట్టిదో అది మంచిదో చెడ్డదో, వారు నివసించు పట్టణములు ఎట్టివో, వారు గుడారములలో నివసించుదురో, కోటలలో నివసించుదురో, ఆ భూమి సారమైనదో నిస్సారమైనదో,

19. biholde ye the lond, what maner lond it is; and biholde ye the puple which is the dwellere therof, whether it is strong, ethir feble, `whether thei ben fewe in noumbre, ether manye;

25. వారు నలుబది దినములు ఆ దేశమును సంచరించి చూచి తిరిగి వచ్చిరి.

25. that is, the stronde of grape, for the sones of Israel baren a clustre fro thennus.

26. అట్లు వారు వెళ్లి పారాను అరణ్యమందలి కాదేషులోనున్న మోషే అహరోనులయొద్దకును ఇశ్రాయేలీయుల సర్వసమాజమునొద్దకును వచ్చి, వారికిని ఆ సర్వ సమాజమునకును సమాచారము తెలియచెప్పి ఆ దేశపు పండ్లను వారికి చూపించిరి.

26. And the aspieris of the lond, whanne thei hadden cumpassid al the cuntrey, after fourti daies camen to Moises and Aaron,

27. and to al the cumpany of the sones of Israel, in to the deseert of Pharan which is in Cades. And `the aspieris spaken to hem, and schewiden the fruytis of the lond to al the multitude, and telden,

28. and seiden, We camen to the lond, to which thou sentest vs, which lond treuli flowith with mylk and hony, as it may be knowun bi these fruytis;

30. కాలేబు మోషే యెదుట జనులను నిమ్మళ పరచిమనము నిశ్చయముగా వెళ్లుదుము; దాని స్వాధీనపరచుకొందుము; దాని జయించుటకు మన శక్తి చాలుననెను.

30. Ethei, and Jebusei, and Amorey dwellen in the hilli placis; forsothe Cananey dwellith bisidis the see, and bisidis the floodis of Jordan.

31. అయితే అతనితో కూడ పోయిన ఆ మనుష్యులు ఆ జనులు మనకంటె బలవంతులు; మనము వారి మీదికి పోజాలమనిరి.

31. Among thes thingis Caleph peeside the grutchyng of the puple, that was maad ayens Moises, and seide, `Stie we, and welde we the lond, for we moun gete it.

32. మరియు వారు తాము సంచరించి చూచిన దేశమునుగూర్చి ఇశ్రాయేలీయులతో చెడ్డ సమాచారము చెప్పి మేము సంచరించి చూచిన దేశము తన నివాసులను భక్షించు దేశము; దానిలో మాకు కనబడిన జనులందరు ఉన్నత దేహులు.

32. Forsothe other aspieris, that weren with hym, seiden, We moun not stie to this puple, for it is strongere than we.

33. And thei deprauyden the lond which thei hadden biholde, anentis the sones of Israel, and seiden, The lond which we cumpassiden deuourith hise dwelleris; the puple which we bihelden is of large stature; there we syen summe wondris ayens kynde,
