1. మనష్షే యోసేపు పెద్దకుమారుడు గనుక అతని గోత్రమునకు, అనగా మనష్షే పెద్ద కుమారుడును గిలాదు దేశాధిపతియునైన మాకీరునకు చీట్లవలన వంతువచ్చెను. అతడు యుద్ధవీరుడైనందున అతనికి గిలాదును బాషానును వచ్చెను.

1. This was the allotment for the tribe of Manasseh as Joseph's firstborn. Gilead and Bashan came to Machir, the firstborn of Manasseh and the father of Gilead, who was a man of war.

2. మనష్షీయులలో మిగిలిన వారికి, అనగా అబియెజెరీయులకును హెలకీయులకును అశ్రీయేలీయుల కును షెకెమీయులకును హెపెరీయులకును షెమీ దీయులకును వారి వారి వంశములచొప్పున వంతువచ్చెను. వారి వంశములనుబట్టి యోసేపు కుమారుడైన మనష్షే యొక్క మగ సంతానమది.

2. So the allotment was for the rest of Manasseh's descendants by their clans, for the sons of Abiezer, Helek, Asriel, Shechem, Hepher, and Shemida. These are the male descendants of Manasseh son of Joseph, by their clans.

3. మనష్షే మునిమనుమడును మాకీరు ఇనుమనుమడును గిలాదు మనుమడును హెపెరు కుమారుడునైన సెలోపె హాదుకు కుమార్తెలేగాని కుమారులు పుట్ట లేదు. అతని కుమార్తెల పేరులు మహలా నోయా హొగ్లా మిల్కా తిర్సా అనునవి.

3. Now Zelophehad son of Hepher, son of Gilead, son of Machir, son of Manasseh, had no sons, only daughters. These are the names of his daughters: Mahlah, Noah, Hoglah, Milcah, and Tirzah.

4. వారు యాజకుడైన ఎలియాజరు ఎదుటి కిని నూను కుమారుడైన యెహోషువ యెదుటికిని ప్రధా నుల యెదుటికిని వచ్చిమా సహోదరులమధ్య మాకు స్వాస్థ్యమియ్యవలెనని యెహోవా మోషేకు ఆజ్ఞాపించె నని మనవి చేయగా యెహోషువ యెహోవా సెలవిచ్చినట్టు వారి తండ్రి యొక్క సహోదరులమధ్య వారికి స్వాస్థ్యములిచ్చెను.

4. They came before Eleazar the priest, Joshua son of Nun, and the leaders, saying, 'The LORD commanded Moses to give us an inheritance among our male relatives.' So they gave them an inheritance among their father's brothers, in keeping with the LORD's instruction.

5. కాబట్టి యొర్దాను అద్దరినున్న గిలాదు బాషానులుగాక మనష్షీయులకు పదివంతులు హెచ్చుగా వచ్చెను.

5. As a result, 10 tracts fell to Manasseh, besides the land of Gilead and Bashan, which are beyond the Jordan,

6. ఏల యనగా మనష్షీయుల స్త్రీ సంతానమును వారి పురుష సంతానమును స్వాస్థ్యములు పొందెను. గిలాదుదేశము తక్కిన మనష్షీయులకు స్వాస్థ్యమాయెను.

6. because Manasseh's daughters received an inheritance among his sons. The land of Gilead belonged to the rest of Manasseh's sons.

7. మనష్షీయుల సరిహద్దు ఆషేరునుండి షెకెమునకు తూర్పుగానున్న మిక్మెతావరకును దక్షిణమున ఏన్తప్పూయ నివాసులవైపునకు వ్యాపించెను.

7. The border of Manasseh went from Asher to Michmethath near Shechem. It then went southward toward the inhabitants of En-tappuah.

8. తప్పూయదేశము మనష్షీయులదాయెను; అయితే మనష్షీయుల సరిహద్దులోని తప్పూయ ఎఫ్రాయి మీయులదాయెను.

8. The region of Tappuah belonged to Manasseh, but Tappuah [itself] on Manasseh's border belonged to the descendants of Ephraim.

9. ఆ సరిహద్దు కానాయేటి దక్షిణ దిక్కున ఆ యేటివరకు వ్యాపించెను. మనష్షీయుల ఊళ్లలో ఆ ఊళ్లు ఎఫ్రాయిమీయులకు కలిగెను; అయితే మనష్షీయుల సరిహద్దు ఆ యేటికి ఉత్తరముగా సముద్రము వరకు వ్యాపించెను. దక్షిణ భూమి ఎఫ్రాయిమీయుల కును ఉత్తరభూమి మనష్షీయులకును కలిగెను.

9. From there the border descended to the Brook of Kanah; south of the brook, cities belonged to Ephraim among Manasseh's cities. Manasseh's border was on the north side of the brook and ended at the Mediterranean Sea.

10. సము ద్రము వారి సరిహద్దు; ఉత్తరదిక్కున అది ఆషేరీయుల సరిహద్దుకును, తూర్పుదిక్కున ఇశ్శాఖారీయుల సరిహద్దు కును నడిచెను.

10. Ephraim's [territory] was to the south and Manasseh's to the north, with the Sea as its border. They reached Asher on the north and Issachar on the east.

11. ఇశ్శాఖారీయుల ప్రదేశములోను ఆషేరీయుల ప్రదేశ ములోను బేత్షెయాను దాని పురములును ఇబ్లెయామును దాని పురములును దోరు నివాసులును దాని పురములును ఏన్దోరు నివాసులును దాని పురములును తానాకు నివాసులును దాని పురములును మెగిద్దో నివాసులును దాని పురములును, అనగా మూడు కొండల ప్రదేశము మనష్షీయులకు కలిగి యున్నది.

11. Within Issachar and Asher, Manasseh had Beth-shean with its towns, Ibleam with its towns, and the inhabitants of Dor with its towns; the inhabitants of En-dor with its towns, the inhabitants of Taanach with its towns, and the inhabitants of Megiddo with its towns-- the three [cities] of Naphath.

12. కనానీయులు ఆ దేశ ములో నివసింపవలెనని గట్టిపట్టు పట్టి యుండిరి గనుక మనష్షీయులు ఆ పురములను స్వాధీనపరచుకొనలేక పోయిరి.

12. The descendants of Manasseh could not possess these cities, because the Canaanites were determined to stay in this land.

13. ఇశ్రాయేలీయులు బలవంతులైన తరువాత వారు కనానీయుల చేత వెట్టిపనులు చేయించుకొనిరి కాని వారి దేశమును పూర్తిగా స్వాధీనపరచుకొనలేదు.

13. However, when the Israelites grew stronger, they imposed forced labor on the Canaanites but did not drive them out completely.

14. అప్పుడు యోసేపు పుత్రులు యెహోషువతోమా కేల ఒక్క చీటితో ఒక్క వంతునే స్వాస్థ్యముగా ఇచ్చితివి? మేము ఒక గొప్ప జనమేగదా? ఇదివరకు యెహోవా మమ్మును దీవించెనని మనవిచేయగా

14. Joseph's descendants said to Joshua: 'Why did you give us only one tribal allotment as an inheritance? We have many people, because the LORD has greatly blessed us.'

15. యెహోషువమీరు గొప్ప జనము గనుక ఎఫ్రాయిమీయులయొక్క మన్యము మీకు ఇరుకుగా నున్న యెడల మీరు అడవికి పోయి అక్కడ పెరిజ్జీయుల దేశములోను రెఫాయీయుల దేశములోను మీకు మీరే చెట్లు నరకుకొనుడని వారితో చెప్పెను.

15. If you have so many people,' Joshua replied to them, 'go to the forest and clear [an area] for yourselves there in the land of the Perizzites and the Rephaim, because Ephraim's hill country is too small for you.'

16. అందుకు యోసేపు పుత్రులుఆ మన్యము మాకుచాలదు; అదియుగాక పల్లపుచోటున నివసించు కనానీయుల కందరికి, అనగా బేత్షెయానులోనివారికిని దాని పురముల లోని వారికిని యెజ్రెయేలు లోయలోని వారికిని ఇనుప రథములున్నవనిరి.

16. But the descendants of Joseph said, 'The hill country is not enough for us, and all the Canaanites who inhabit the valley area have iron chariots, both at Beth-shean with its towns and in the Jezreel Valley.'

17. అప్పడు యెహోషువ యోసేపు పుత్రు లైన ఎఫ్రాయిమీయులను మనష్షీయులను చూచిమీరు ఒక విస్తారజనము,

17. So Joshua replied to Joseph's family (that is, Ephraim and Manasseh), 'You have many people and great strength. You will not have just one lot,

18. మీకు అధికబలముగలదు, మీకు ఒక్కవంతు చీటియేకాదు; ఆ కొండ మీదే, అది అర ణ్యము గనుక మీరు దానిని నరకుడి, అప్పుడు ఆ ప్రదే శము మీదగును; కనానీయులకు ఇనుపరథములుండినను వారు బలవంతులైయుండినను మీరు వారి దేశమును స్వాధీన పరచుకొనగలరనెను.

18. because the hill country will be yours also. It is a forest; clear it and its outlying areas will be yours. You can also drive out the Canaanites, even though they have iron chariots and are strong.'
