1. అప్పుడు బిలాము ఇక్కడ నేను బలి అర్పించుటకు ఏడు బలిపీఠములను కట్టించి, ఇక్కడ ఏడు కోడెలను ఏడు పొట్టేళ్లను సిద్ధపరచుమని బాలాకుతో చెప్పెను.

1. Balaam said to Balak, 'Build seven altars here, then bring seven bulls and seven rams.'

2. బిలాము చెప్పినట్లు బాలాకు చేయగా, బాలాకును బిలామును ప్రతి బలిపీఠముమీద ఒక కోడెను ఒక పొట్టేలును దహనబలిగా అర్పించిరి.

2. After Balak had done this, they sacrificed a bull and a ram on each altar.

3. మరియు బిలాము బాలాకుతోబలిపీఠము మీది నీ దహనబలియొద్ద నిలిచియుండుము, నేను వెళ్లెదను; ఒకవేళ యెహోవా నన్ను ఎదుర్కొనునేమో; ఆయన నాకు కనుపరచునది నీకు తెలియచేసెదనని చెప్పి మెట్టయెక్కెను.

3. Then Balaam said, 'Wait here beside your offerings, and I'll go somewhere to be alone. Maybe the LORD will appear to me. If he does, I will tell you everything he says.' And he left.

4. దేవుడు బిలాముకు ప్రత్యక్షము కాగా అతడునేను ఏడు బలిపీఠములను సిద్ధపరచి ప్రతి దానిమీదను ఒక కోడెను ఒక పొట్టేలును అర్పించితినని ఆయనతో చెప్పగా,

4. When God appeared to him, Balaam said, 'I have built seven altars and have sacrificed a bull and a ram on each one.'

5. యెహోవా ఒకమాట బిలాము నోట ఉంచినీవు బాలాకునొద్దకు తిరిగి వెళ్లి యిట్లు చెప్పుమనెను.

5. The LORD gave Balaam a message, then sent him back to tell Balak.

6. అతడు బాలాకునొద్దకు తిరిగి వెళ్లినప్పుడు అతడు మోయాబు అధికారులందరితో తన దహనబలి యొద్ద నిలిచియుండెను.

6. When Balaam returned, he found Balak and his officials standing beside the offerings.

7. అప్పుడు బిలాము ఉపమాన రీతిగా ఇట్లనెను అరామునుండి బాలాకుతూర్పు పర్వతములనుండి మోయాబురాజు నన్నురప్పించిరమ్ము; నా నిమిత్తము యాకోబును శపింపుము రమ్ము; ఇశ్రాయేలును భయపెట్టవలెను అనెను.

7. Balaam said: 'King Balak of Moab brought me from the hills of Syria to curse Israel and announce its doom.

8. ఏమని శపింపగలను? దేవుడు శపింపలేదే ఏమని భయపెట్టగలను? దేవుడు భయపెట్టలేదే.

8. But I can't go against God! He did not curse or condemn Israel. *

9. మెట్టల శిఖరమునుండి అతని చూచుచున్నాను కొండలనుండి అతని కనుగొనుచున్నాను ఇదిగో ఆ జనము ఒంటిగా నివసించును జనములలో లెక్కింపబడరు.

9. From the mountain peaks, I look down and see Israel, the obedient people of God.

10. యాకోబు రేణువులను ఎవరు లెక్కించెదరు?ఇశ్రాయేలు నాల్గవపాలును ఎవరు లెక్కపెట్టగలరు? నీతిమంతుల మరణమువంటి మరణము నాకు లభించును గాక. నా అంత్యదశ వారి అంతమువంటి దగును గాక అనెను.

10. They are living alone in peace. And though they are many, they don't bother the other nations. 'I hope to obey God for as long as I live and to die in such peace.'

11. అంతట బాలాకు బిలాముతో నీవు నాకేమి చేసితివి? నా శత్రువులను శపించుటకు నిన్ను రప్పించితిని; అయితే నీవు వారిని పూర్తిగా దీవించితివనెను.

11. Balak said, 'What are you doing? I asked you to come and place a curse on my enemies. But you have blessed them instead!'

12. అందు కతడుయెహోవా నా నోట ఉంచినదాని నేను శ్రధ్ధగా పలుక వద్దా? అని ఉత్తరమిచ్చెను.

12. Balaam answered, 'I can say only what the LORD tells me.'

13. అప్పుడు బాలాకుదయచేసి నాతోకూడ మరియొక చోటికి రమ్ము. అక్కడనుండి వారిని చూడవచ్చును; వారి చివరమాత్రమే కనబడును గాని వారందరు నీకు కనబడరు; అక్కడనుండి నా నిమిత్తము వారిని శపింపవలెనని అతనితో చెప్పి

13. Balak said to Balaam, 'Let's go somewhere else. Maybe if you see a smaller part of the Israelites, you will be able to curse them for me.'

14. పిస్గా కొన నున్న కావలివారి పొలమునకు అతని తోడుకొనిపోయి, యేడు బలిపీఠములను కట్టించి, ప్రతి బలిపీఠము మీద ఒక కోడెను ఒక పొట్టేలును అర్పించెను.

14. So he took Balaam to a field on top of Mount Pisgah where lookouts were stationed. Then he built seven altars there and sacrificed a bull and a ram on each one.

15. అతడునీవు ఇక్కడ నీ దహనబలియొద్ద నిలిచియుండుము; నేను అక్కడ యెహోవాను ఎదుర్కొందునని బాలాకుతో చెప్పగా,

15. Wait here beside your offerings,' Balaam said. 'The LORD will appear to me over there.'

16. యెహోవా బిలామును ఎదుర్కొని ఒక మాటను అతని నోట ఉంచినీవు బాలాకునొద్దకు తిరిగి వెళ్లి యిట్లు చెప్పుమనెను.

16. The LORD appeared to Balaam and gave him another message, then he told him to go and tell Balak.

17. అతడు బాలాకు నొద్దకు వెళ్లినప్పుడు అతడు తన దహనబలియొద్ద నిలిచియుండెను. మోయాబు అధికారులును అతనియొద్ద నుండిరి. బాలాకు యెహోవా యేమి చెప్పెనని అడుగగా

17. Balaam went back and saw him and his officials standing beside the offerings. Balak asked, 'What did the LORD say?'

18. బిలాము ఉపమానరీతిగా నిట్లనెను బాలాకూ, లేచి వినుము సిప్పోరు కుమారుడా, చెవినొగ్గి నా మాట ఆలకించుము.

18. Balaam answered: 'Pay close attention to my words--

19. దేవుడు అబద్ధమాడుటకు ఆయన మానవుడు కాడు పశ్చాత్తాపపడుటకు ఆయన నరపుత్రుడు కాడు ఆయన చెప్పి చేయకుండునా? ఆయన మాట యిచ్చి స్థాపింపకుండునా?

19. God is no mere human! He doesn't tell lies or change his mind. God always keeps his promises.

20. ఇదిగో దీవించుమని నాకు సెలవాయెను ఆయన దీవించెను; నేను దాని మార్చలేను.

20. My command from God was to bless these people, and there's nothing I can do to change what he has done.

21. ఆయన యాకోబులో ఏ దోషమును కనుగొనలేదు ఇశ్రాయేలులో ఏ వంకరతనమును చూడలేదు అతని దేవుడైన యెహోవా అతనికి తోడైయున్నాడు.

21. Israel's king is the LORD God. He lives there with them and intends them no harm.

22. రాజుయొక్క జయధ్వని వారిలో నున్నది దేవుడు ఐగుప్తులోనుండి వారిని రప్పించెను గురుపోతు వేగమువంటి వేగము వారికి కలదు.

22. With the strength of a wild ox, God led Israel out of Egypt.

23. నిజముగా యాకోబులో మంత్రము లేదు ఇశ్రాయేలులో శకునము లేదు ఆయాకాలములందు దేవుని కార్యములు యాకోబు వంశస్థులగు ఇశ్రాయేలీయులకు తెలియచెప్పబడును.

23. No magic charms can work against them-- just look what God has done for his people.

24. ఇదిగో ఆ జనము ఆడుసింహమువలె లేచును అది సింహమువలె నిక్కి నిలుచును అది వేటను తిని చంపబడిన వాటి రక్తము త్రాగు వరకు పండుకొనదు.

24. They are like angry lions ready to attack; and they won't rest until their victim is gobbled down.'

25. అంతట బాలాకు నీవు ఏ మాత్రమును వారిని శపింపను వద్దు, దీవింపను వద్దు అని బిలాముతో చెప్పగా

25. Balak shouted, 'If you're not going to curse Israel, then at least don't bless them.'

26. బిలాము యెహోవా చెప్పినదంతయు నేను చేయవలెనని నేను నీతో చెప్పలేదా? అని బాలాకుకు ఉత్తరమియ్యగా

26. I've already told you,' Balaam answered. 'I will say only what the LORD tells me.'

27. బాలాకు నీవు దయచేసి రమ్ము; నేను వేరొకచోటికి నిన్ను తోడుకొని పోయెదను; అక్కడ నుండి నా నిమిత్తము నీవు వారిని శపించుట దేవుని దృష్టికి అనుకూలమగునేమో అని బిలాముతో చెప్పెను.

27. Balak said to Balaam, 'Come on, let's try another place. Maybe God will let you curse Israel from there.'

28. బాలాకు ఎడారికి ఎదురుగా నున్న పెయోరు శిఖరమునకు బిలామును తోడుకొని పోయిన తరువాత

28. So he took Balaam to Mount Peor overlooking the desert north of the Dead Sea.

29. బిలాము ఇక్కడ నాకు ఏడు బలి పీఠములను కట్టించి, యిక్కడ ఏడు కోడెలను ఏడు పొట్టేళ్లను సిద్ధపరచుమని బాలాకుతో చెప్పెను.

29. Balaam said, 'Build seven altars here, then bring me seven bulls and seven rams.'

30. బిలాము చెప్పినట్లు బాలాకు చేసి ప్రతి బలిపీఠము మీద ఒక కోడెను ఒక పొట్టేలును అర్పించెను.

30. After Balak had done what Balaam asked, he sacrificed a bull and a ram on each altar.
