1. అప్పుడు బిలాముఇక్కడ నేను బలి అర్పించు టకు ఏడు బలిపీఠములను కట్టించి, ఇక్కడ ఏడు కోడెలను ఏడు పొట్టేళ్లను సిద్ధపరచుమని బాలాకుతో చెప్పెను.

1. Balaam said to Balak, 'Build me seven altars here and prepare me seven bulls and seven rams.'

2. బిలాము చెప్పినట్లు బాలాకు చేయగా, బాలాకును బిలా మును ప్రతి బలిపీఠముమీద ఒక కోడెను ఒక పొట్టేలును దహనబలిగా అర్పించిరి.

2. Balak did as Balaam said and offered a burnt offering of one bull and one ram on each altar.

3. మరియు బిలాము బాలాకుతోబలిపీఠము మీది నీ దహనబలియొద్ద నిలిచియుండుము, నేను వెళ్లెదను; ఒకవేళ యెహోవా నన్ను ఎదుర్కొనునేమో; ఆయన నాకు కనుపరచునది నీకు తెలియచేసెదనని చెప్పి మెట్టయెక్కెను.

3. Balaam then said to Balak, 'Stand beside your burnt offerings while I go away. Perhaps Yahweh will come and meet me. If he does, I shall tell you whatever he reveals to me.' And he withdrew to a bare hill.

4. దేవుడు బిలాముకు ప్రత్యక్షము కాగా అతడునేను ఏడు బలిపీఠములను సిద్ధపరచి ప్రతి దానిమీదను ఒక కోడెను ఒక పొట్టేలును అర్పించితినని ఆయనతో చెప్పగా,

4. God came to meet Balaam, who said to him, 'I have prepared the seven altars and offered a burnt offering of one bull and one ram on each altar.'

5. యెహోవా ఒకమాట బిలాము నోట ఉంచినీవు బాలాకునొద్దకు తిరిగి వెళ్లి యిట్లు చెప్పుమనెను.

5. Yahweh then put a prophecy into his mouth and said to him, 'Go back to Balak, and that is what you must say to him.'

6. అతడు బాలాకునొద్దకు తిరిగి వెళ్లినప్పుడు అతడు మోయాబు అధికారులందరితో తన దహనబలి యొద్ద నిలిచియుండెను.

6. So Balaam went back to him, and found him still standing beside his burnt offering, with all the chiefs of Moab.

7. అప్పుడు బిలాము ఉపమాన రీతిగా ఇట్లనెను అరామునుండి బాలాకుతూర్పు పర్వతములనుండి మోయాబురాజు నన్నురప్పించిరమ్ము; నా నిమిత్తము యాకోబును శపింపుము రమ్ము; ఇశ్రాయేలును భయపెట్టవలెను అనెను.

7. He then declaimed his poem as follows: Balak has brought me from Aram, the king of Moab from the hills of Kedem: 'Come and curse Jacob for me, come and denounce Israel!'

8. ఏమని శపింపగలను? దేవుడు శపింపలేదే ఏమని భయపెట్టగలను? దేవుడు భయపెట్టలేదే.

8. How shall I curse someone whom God has not cursed, how denounce someone God has not denounced?

9. మెట్టల శిఖరమునుండి అతని చూచుచున్నాను కొండలనుండి అతని కనుగొనుచున్నాను ఇదిగో ఆ జనము ఒంటిగా నివసించును జనములలో లెక్కింపబడరు.

9. Yes, from the top of the crags I see him, from the hills I descry him: a people that dwells on its own, not to be reckoned among other nations!

10. యాకోబు రేణువులను ఎవరు లెక్కించెదరు?ఇశ్రాయేలు నాల్గవపాలును ఎవరు లెక్కపెట్టగలరు? నీతిమంతుల మరణమువంటి మరణము నాకు లభించును గాక. నా అంత్యదశ వారి అంతమువంటి దగును గాక అనెను.

10. Who can count the dust of Jacob? Who can number the cloud of Israel? May I die the death of the just, and may my future be like theirs!

11. అంతట బాలాకు బిలాముతో నీవు నాకేమి చేసితివి? నా శత్రువులను శపించుటకు నిన్ను రప్పించితిని; అయితే నీవు వారిని పూర్తిగా దీవించితివనెను.

11. Balak said to Balaam, 'What have you done to me? I brought you to curse my enemies, and you have heaped blessings on them!'

12. అందు కతడుయెహోవా నా నోట ఉంచినదాని నేను శ్రధ్ధగా పలుక వద్దా? అని ఉత్తరమిచ్చెను.

12. Balaam replied, 'Am I to depart from what Yahweh puts into my mouth?'

13. అప్పుడు బాలాకుదయచేసి నాతోకూడ మరియొక చోటికి రమ్ము. అక్కడనుండి వారిని చూడవచ్చును; వారి చివరమాత్రమే కనబడును గాని వారందరు నీకు కనబడరు; అక్కడనుండి నా నిమిత్తము వారిని శపింపవలెనని అతనితో చెప్పి

13. Balak then said, 'Please come somewhere else. From here you can see only the fringe of them, you cannot see them all. Curse them for me over there.'

14. పిస్గా కొన నున్న కావలివారి పొలమునకు అతని తోడుకొనిపోయి, యేడు బలిపీఠములను కట్టించి, ప్రతి బలిపీఠము మీద ఒక కోడెను ఒక పొట్టేలును అర్పించెను.

14. He led him to the Lookouts' Field on the top of Pisgah. There he built seven altars and offered a burnt offering of one bull and one ram on each altar.

15. అతడునీవు ఇక్కడ నీ దహనబలియొద్ద నిలిచియుండుము; నేను అక్కడ యెహోవాను ఎదుర్కొందునని బాలాకుతో చెప్పగా,

15. Balaam said to Balak, 'Stand here beside your burnt offerings while I wait over there.'

16. యెహోవా బిలామును ఎదుర్కొని ఒక మాటను అతని నోట ఉంచినీవు బాలాకునొద్దకు తిరిగి వెళ్లి యిట్లు చెప్పుమనెను.

16. God came to meet Balaam, he put a prophecy into his mouth and said to him, 'Go back to Balak, and that is what you must say to him.'

17. అతడు బాలాకు నొద్దకు వెళ్లినప్పుడు అతడు తన దహనబలియొద్ద నిలిచియుండెను. మోయాబు అధికారులును అతనియొద్ద నుండిరి. బాలాకు యెహోవా యేమి చెప్పెనని అడుగగా

17. So Balaam went to him and found him still standing beside his burnt offering and all the chiefs of Moab with him. 'What did Yahweh say?' Balak said to him.

18. బిలాము ఉపమానరీతిగా నిట్లనెను బాలాకూ, లేచి వినుము సిప్పోరు కుమారుడా, చెవినొగ్గి నా మాట ఆలకించుము.

18. Balaam then declaimed his poem, as follows: Stand up, Balak, and listen, give ear to me, son of Zippor.

19. దేవుడు అబద్ధమాడుటకు ఆయన మానవుడు కాడు పశ్చాత్తాపపడుటకు ఆయన నరపుత్రుడు కాడు ఆయన చెప్పి చేయకుండునా? ఆయన మాట యిచ్చి స్థాపింపకుండునా?

19. God is no human being that he should lie, no child of Adam to change his mind. Is it his to say and not to do, is it his to speak and not fulfil?

20. ఇదిగో దీవించుమని నాకు సెలవాయెను ఆయన దీవించెను; నేను దాని మార్చలేను.

20. The charge laid on me is to bless, I shall bless, and I cannot reverse it.

21. ఆయన యాకోబులో ఏ దోషమును కనుగొనలేదు ఇశ్రాయేలులో ఏ వంకరతనమును చూడలేదు అతని దేవుడైన యెహోవా అతనికి తోడైయున్నాడు.

21. I have perceived no guilt in Jacob, have seen no perversity in Israel. Yahweh his God is with him, and a royal acclamation to greet him.

22. రాజుయొక్క జయధ్వని వారిలో నున్నది దేవుడు ఐగుప్తులోనుండి వారిని రప్పించెను గురుపోతు వేగమువంటి వేగము వారికి కలదు.

22. God has brought him out of Egypt, is like the wild ox's horns to him.

23. నిజముగా యాకోబులో మంత్రము లేదు ఇశ్రాయేలులో శకునము లేదు ఆయాకాలములందు దేవుని కార్యములు యాకోబు వంశస్థులగు ఇశ్రాయేలీయులకు తెలియచెప్పబడును.

23. There is no omen whatever against Jacob, no augury at all against Israel. Well may people say of Jacob, of Israel, 'What has God achieved?'

24. ఇదిగో ఆ జనము ఆడుసింహమువలె లేచును అది సింహమువలె నిక్కి నిలుచును అది వేటను తిని చంపబడిన వాటి రక్తము త్రాగు వరకు పండుకొనదు.

24. for here is a people like a lioness rising, poised like a lion to spring; nor will he lie down till he has devoured his prey and drunk the blood of his slain.

25. అంతట బాలాకునీవు ఏ మాత్రమును వారిని శపింపను వద్దు, దీవింపను వద్దు అని బిలాముతో చెప్పగా

25. Balak said to Balaam, 'Very well! Do not curse them. But at least do not bless them!'

26. బిలాము యెహోవా చెప్పినదంతయు నేను చేయవలెనని నేను నీతో చెప్పలేదా? అని బాలాకుకు ఉత్తరమియ్యగా

26. Balaam retorted to Balak, 'Did I not tell you? Whatever Yahweh says, I must do.'

27. బాలాకు నీవు దయచేసి రమ్ము; నేను వేరొకచోటికి నిన్ను తోడుకొని పోయెదను; అక్కడ నుండి నా నిమిత్తము నీవు వారిని శపించుట దేవుని దృష్టికి అనుకూలమగునేమో అని బిలాముతో చెప్పెను.

27. Balak then said to Balaam, 'Come with me now and I shall take you somewhere else. From there perhaps it will please God to curse them for me.'

28. బాలాకు ఎడారికి ఎదురుగా నున్న పెయోరు శిఖరమునకు బిలామును తోడుకొని పోయిన తరువాత

28. So Balak led Balaam to the summit of Peor, overlooking the wastelands.

29. బిలాముఇక్కడ నాకు ఏడు బలి పీఠములను కట్టించి, యిక్కడ ఏడు కోడెలను ఏడు పొట్టేళ్లను సిద్ధపరచుమని బాలాకుతో చెప్పెను.

29. Balaam then said to Balak, 'Build me seven altars here and prepare me seven bulls and seven rams.'

30. బిలాము చెప్పినట్లు బాలాకు చేసి ప్రతి బలిపీఠము మీద ఒక కోడెను ఒక పొట్టేలును అర్పించెను.

30. Balak did as Balaam said and offered a burnt offering of one bull and one ram on each altar.
