1. అప్పుడు షూహీయుడగు బిల్దదు ఇట్లనెను

1. Then answered Bildad the Shuhite, and said,

2. ఎంత కాలము నీవిట్టి మాటలాడెదవు? నీ నోటి మాటలు సుడిగాలి వంటివాయెను.

2. How long wilt thou speak these [things]? and [how long shall] the words of thy mouth [be like] a strong wind?

3. దేవుడు న్యాయవిధిని రద్దుపరచునా? సర్వశక్తుడగు దేవుడు న్యాయమును రద్దుపరచునా?

3. Doth God pervert judgment? or doth the Almighty pervert justice?

4. నీ కుమారులు ఆయన దృష్టియెదుట పాపముచేసిరేమోకావుననే వారు చేసిన తిరుగుబాటునుబట్టి ఆయనవారిని అప్పగించెనేమో.

4. If thy children have sinned against him, and he hath cast them away for their transgression;

5. నీవు జాగ్రత్తగా దేవుని వెదకినయెడల సర్వశక్తుడగు దేవుని బతిమాలుకొనినయెడల

5. If thou wouldest seek to God early, and make thy supplication to the Almighty;

6. నీవు పవిత్రుడవై యథార్థవంతుడవైనయెడల నిశ్చయముగా ఆయన నీయందు శ్రద్ధ నిలిపి నీ నీతికి తగినట్టుగా నీ నివాసస్థలమును వర్ధిల్లజేయును.

6. If thou [wert] pure and upright; surely now he would awake for thee, and make the habitation of thy righteousness prosperous.

7. అప్పుడు నీ స్థితి మొదట కొద్దిగా నుండినను తుదను నీవు మహాభివృద్ధి పొందుదువు.

7. Though thy beginning was small, yet thy latter end should greatly increase.

8. మనము నిన్నటివారమే, మనకు ఏమియు తెలియదు భూమిమీద మన దినములు నీడవలె నున్నవి.

8. For enquire, I pray thee, of the former age, and prepare thyself to the search of their fathers:

9. మునుపటి తరమువారి సంగతులు విచారించుము వారి పితరులు పరీక్షించినదానిని బాగుగా తెలిసి కొనుము.

9. (For we [are but of] yesterday, and know nothing, because our days upon earth [are] a shadow:)

10. వారు నీకు బోధించుదురు గదా వారు నీకు తెలుపు దురు గదావారు తమ అనుభవమునుబట్టి మాటలాడుదురు గదా.

10. Shall they not teach thee, [and] tell thee, and utter words out of their heart?

11. బురద లేకుండ జమ్ము పెరుగునా?నీళ్లు లేకుండ రెల్లు మొలచునా?

11. Can the rush grow without mire? can the flag grow without water?

12. అది కోయబడకముందు బహు పచ్చగానున్నది కాని యితర మొక్కలన్నిటికంటె త్వరగా వాడిపోవును.

12. While it [is] still green, [and] not cut down, it withereth before any [other] herb.

13. దేవుని మరచువారందరి గతి అట్లే ఉండునుభక్తిహీనుని ఆశ నిరర్థకమగును అతని ఆశ భంగమగును.

13. So [are] the paths of all that forget God; and the hypocrite's hope shall perish:

14. అతడు ఆశ్రయించునది సాలెపురుగు పట్టే.

14. Whose confidence shall be cut off, and whose trust [shall be] a spider's web.

15. అతడు తన యింటిమీద ఆనుకొనగా అది నిలువదు.

15. He shall lean upon his house, but it shall not stand: he shall hold it fast, but it shall not endure.

16. అతడు గట్టిగా దాని పట్టుకొనగా అది విడిపోవును.ఎండకు అతడు పచ్చిపట్టి బలియును అతని తీగెలు అతని తోటమీద అల్లుకొనును.

16. He [is] green before the sun, and his branch shooteth forth in his garden.

17. అతని వేళ్లు గట్టుమీద చుట్టుకొనునురాళ్లుగల తన నివాసమును అతడు తేరిచూచును.

17. His roots are wrapped about the heap, [and] seeth the place of stones.

18. దేవుడు అతని స్థలములోనుండి అతని వెళ్లగొట్టినయెడల అదినేను నిన్నెరుగను ఎప్పుడును నిన్ను చూడలేదనును.

18. If he shall be destroyed from his place, then [it] shall deny him, [saying], I have not seen thee.

19. ఇదే అతని సంతోషకరమైన గతికి అంతము అతడున్న ధూళినుండి ఇతరులు పుట్టెదరు.

19. Behold, this [is] the joy of his way, and out of the earth shall others grow.

20. ఆలోచించుము దేవుడు యథార్థవంతుని త్రోసివేయడు.ఆయన దుష్కార్యములు చేయువారిని నిలువబెట్టడు.

20. Behold, God will not cast away a perfect [man], neither will he help the evildoers:

21. నిన్ను పగపట్టువారు అవమానభరితులగుదురుదుష్టుల గుడారము ఇక నిలువకపోవును.

21. Till he shall fill thy mouth with laughing, and thy lips with rejoicing.

22. అయితే ఇంకను ఆయన నీకు నోటినిండ నవ్వు కలుగ జేయును.ప్రహర్షముతో నీ పెదవులను నింపును.

22. They that hate thee shall be clothed with shame; and the dwelling place of the wicked shall come to nought.
