1. అప్పుడు తేమానీయుడైన ఎలీఫజు ఈలాగున ప్రత్యుత్తరమిచ్చెను

1. Then Eliphaz the Temanite answered,

2. నరులు దేవునికి ప్రయోజనకారులగుదురా? కారు;బుద్ధిమంతులు తమమట్టుకు తామే ప్రయోజనకారులై యున్నారు

2. 'Can a man be of use to God? Can a wise man be of use to himself?

3. నీవు నీతిమంతుడవై యుండుట సర్వశక్తుడగు దేవునికి సంతోషమా?నీవు యథార్థవంతుడవై ప్రవర్తించుట ఆయనకు లాభకరమా?

3. Is the All-powerful pleased if you are right and good? Is it of any use to Him if your ways were perfect?

4. ఆయనయందు భయభక్తులు కలిగియున్నందున ఆయన నిన్ను గద్దించునా? నీ భయభక్తులనుబట్టి ఆయన నీతో వ్యాజ్యెమాడునా?

4. Is it because of how you honor God that He speaks strong words to you and punishes you?

5. నీ చెడుతనము గొప్పది కాదా?నీ దోషములు మితిలేనివి కావా?

5. Have you not done much wrong and your sins have no end?

6. ఏమియు ఇయ్యకయే నీ సోదరులయొద్ద నీవు తాకట్టు పుచ్చుకొంటివి వస్త్రహీనుల బట్టలను తీసికొంటివి

6. For you have taken things from your brothers when they did not owe you anything. You have taken all their clothing and they have had nothing to wear.

7. దప్పిచేత ఆయాసపడినవారికి నీళ్లియ్యవైతివి ఆకలిగొనినవానికి అన్నము పెట్టకపోతివి.

7. To those who were tired, you have given no water to drink. And you have kept bread from the hungry.

8. బాహుబలముగల మనుష్యునికే భూమి ప్రాప్తించును ఘనుడని యెంచబడినవాడు దానిలో నివసించును.

8. But you were a powerful and respected man owning land and living on it.

9. విధవరాండ్రను వట్టిచేతులతో పంపివేసితివి తండ్రిలేనివారి చేతులు విరుగగొట్టితివి.

9. You have sent women away with nothing, whose husbands have died. And you have crushed the strength of children who have no parents.

10. కావుననే బోనులు నిన్ను చుట్టుకొనుచున్నవి ఆకస్మిక భయము నిన్ను బెదరించుచున్నది.

10. So traps are all around you, and much fear comes upon you all at once.

11. నిన్ను చిక్కించుకొన్న అంధకారమును నీవు చూచుట లేదా?నిన్ను ముంచబోవు ప్రళయజలములను నీవు చూచుట లేదా?

11. This is why it is dark and you cannot see, and a flood of water covers you.

12. దేవుడు ఆకాశమంత మహోన్నతుడు కాడా?నక్షత్రముల ఔన్నత్యమును చూడుము అవి ఎంతపైగా నున్నవి?

12. 'Is not God high up in heaven? See the highest stars, how high they are!

13. దేవునికి ఏమి తెలియును?గాఢాంధకారములోనుండి ఆయన న్యాయము కనుగొనునా?

13. So you say, 'What does God know? Can He judge through the darkness?

14. గాఢమైన మేఘములు ఆయనకు చాటుగా నున్నవి, ఆయన చూడలేదుఆకాశములో ఆయన తిరుగుచున్నాడు అని నీవనుకొనుచున్నావు.

14. Clouds cover Him so that He cannot see. He walks on the roof of heaven.'

15. పూర్వమునుండి దుష్టులు అనుసరించిన మార్గమును నీవు అనుసరించెదవా?

15. Will you keep to the old way which sinful men have walked?

16. వారు అకాలముగా ఒక నిమిషములో నిర్మూలమైరివారి పునాదులు జలప్రవాహమువలె కొట్టుకొని పోయెను.

16. They were taken away before their time. The ground they stood on was washed away by a river.

17. ఆయన మంచి పదార్థములతో వారి యిండ్లను నింపినను

17. They said to God, 'Leave us!' and 'What can the All-powerful do to us?'

18. మాయొద్ద నుండి తొలగిపొమ్మనియు సర్వశక్తుడగు దేవుడు మాకు ఏమి చేయుననియు వారు దేవునితో అందురు. భక్తిహీనుల ఆలోచన నాకు దూరమై యుండునుగాక.

18. Yet He filled their houses with good things. But the wisdom of the sinful is far from me.

19. మన విరోధులు నిశ్చయముగా నిర్మూలమైరనియు వారి సంపదను అగ్ని కాల్చివేసెననియు పలుకుచు

19. Those who are right and good see it and are glad. Those who are without guilt make fun of them,

20. నీతిమంతులు దాని చూచి సంతోషించుదురు నిర్దోషులు వారిని హేళన చేయుదురు.

20. saying, 'For sure those who hate us are destroyed, and fire has destroyed what they owned.'

21. ఆయనతో సహవాసము చేసినయెడల నీకు సమాధానము కలుగునుఆలాగున నీకు మేలు కలుగును.

21. 'Agree with God, and be at peace with Him. Then good will come to you.

22. ఆయన నోటి ఉపదేశమును అవలంబించుము ఆయన మాటలను నీ హృదయములో ఉంచుకొనుము.

22. Receive the teaching from His mouth, and keep His words in your heart.

23. సర్వశక్తునివైపు నీవు తిరిగినయెడలనీ గుడారములలో నుండి దుర్మార్గమును దూరముగా తొలగించినయెడల నీవు అభివృద్ధి పొందెదవు.

23. If you return to the Allpowerful, things will be well with you again. Put sin far from your tent.

24. మంటిలో నీ బంగారమును ఏటిరాళ్లలో ఓఫీరు సువర్ణమును పారవేయుము

24. Put your gold in the dust, and gold of Ophir among the stones of the river.

25. అప్పుడు సర్వశక్తుడు నీకు అపరంజిగాను ప్రశస్తమైన వెండిగాను ఉండును.

25. Then the All-powerful will be your gold and silver of much worth.

26. అప్పుడు సర్వశక్తునియందు నీవు ఆనందించెదవుదేవునితట్టు నీ ముఖము ఎత్తెదవు.

26. Then you will have joy in the Allpowerful, and lift up your face to God.

27. నీవు ఆయనకు ప్రార్థనచేయగాఆయన నీ మనవి నాలకించునునీ మ్రొక్కుబళ్లు నీవు చెల్లించెదవు.

27. You will pray to Him, and He will hear you. And you will keep your promises to Him.

28. మరియు నీవు దేనినైన యోచనచేయగా అది నీకుస్థిరపరచబడునునీ మార్గములమీద వెలుగు ప్రకాశించును.

28. You will decide something, and it will be done for you. Light will shine on your path.

29. నీవు పడద్రోయబడినప్పుడుమీదు చూచెదనందువువినయముగలవానిని ఆయన రక్షించును.

29. For God puts down the man who is filled with pride. But He saves the one who is not proud.

30. నిర్దోషికానివానినైనను ఆయన విడిపించును. అతడు నీ చేతుల శుద్ధివలన విడిపింపబడును.

30. He will save the man who is even guilty because he will be helped by your hands that are clean.'
