1. రెమల్యా కుమారుడైన పెకహు ఏలుబడిలో పదు నేడవ సంవత్సరమందు యూదారాజైన యోతాము కుమా రుడగు ఆహాజు ఏలనారంభించెను.

1. In the seventeenth year of Pekah the son of Remaliah, Ahaz the son of Jotham began to rule as the king of Judah.

2. ఆహాజు ఏలనారంభించి నప్పుడు ఇరువది యేండ్లవాడై యెరూషలేమునందు పదు నారు సంవత్సరములు ఏలెను. తన పితరుడగు దావీదు తన దేవుడైన యెహోవా దృష్టికి నీతిగా ప్రవర్తించినట్లు అతడు ప్రవర్తింపక ఇశ్రాయేలురాజులు ప్రవర్తించినట్లు ప్రవర్తించెను.

2. Ahaz was twenty years old when he became king. And he ruled for sixteen years in Jerusalem. He did not do what was right in the eyes of the Lord his God, as his father David had done.

3. అతడు ఇశ్రాయేలీయుల ముందర నిలువ కుండ యెహోవా వెళ్లగొట్టిన జనులు చేసిన హేయమైన క్రియలు చేయుచు, తన కుమారుని అగ్నిగుండమును దాటించెను.

3. But he walked in the way of the kings of Israel. He even gave his sons as a burnt gift. This was very sinful and was done by the nations which the Lord had driven out from the people of Israel.

4. మరియు అతడు ఉన్నత స్థలములలోను కొండమీదను సమస్తమైన పచ్చని వృక్షములక్రిందను బలులు అర్పించుచు ధూపము వేయుచు వచ్చెను.

4. And Ahaz gave gifts in worship and burned special perfume on the high places, on the hills, and under every green tree.

5. సిరియా రాజైన రెజీనును ఇశ్రాయేలురాజైన రెమల్యా కుమారుడగు పెకహును యెరూషలేముమీదికి యుద్ధమునకువచ్చి అక్కడ నున్న ఆహాజును పట్టణమును ముట్టడివేసిరి గాని అతనిని జయింపలేక పోయిరి.

5. Then King Rezin of Syria and Pekah the son of Remaliah, king of Israel, came up to Jerusalem to fight a war. Their armies closed in around Ahaz, but they could not win the battle against him.

6. ఆ కాలమందు సిరియారాజైన రెజీను ఏలతును మరల పట్టుకొని సిరియనుల వశముచేసి, ఏలతులోనుండి యూదావారిని వెళ్లగొట్టగా సిరియనులు ఏలతు పట్టణమునకు వచ్చి కాపురముండిరి. నేటివరకును వారచ్చటనే యున్నారు.

6. At that time King Rezin of Syria took back Elath for Syria. And he drove all the men of Judah out of Elath. The Syrians came to Elath, and have lived there to this day.

7. ఇట్లుండగా ఆహాజు యెహోవా మందిర సంబంధమైనట్టియు రాజనగరు సంబంధమైనట్టియు సామగ్రులలో కనబడిన వెండి బంగారములను తీసికొని అష్షూరురాజునకు కానుకగా పంపి

7. So Ahaz sent men with news to King Tiglath-pileser of Assyria, saying, 'I am your servant and your son. Come up and save me from the king of Syria and the king of Israel. They are fighting against me.'

8. నేను నీ దాసుడను నీ కుమారుడనైయున్నాను గనుక నీవు వచ్చి, నామీదికి లేచిన సిరియారాజు చేతిలోనుండియు ఇశ్రాయేలురాజు చేతిలోనుండియు నన్ను రక్షింపవలెనని అష్షూరు రాజైన తిగ్లత్పిలేసెరునొద్దకు దూతలనంపగా

8. And Ahaz took the silver and gold from the house of the Lord and the storerooms of the king's house, and sent a gift to the king of Assyria.

9. అష్షూరు రాజు అతనిమాట అంగీకరించి, దమస్కు పట్టణముమీదికి వచ్చి దాని పట్టుకొని, రెజీనును హతముచేసి ఆ జనులను కీరు పట్టణమునకు చెరదీసికొని పోయెను.

9. So the king of Assyria listened to him and went up against Damascus. He took it in battle, and took its people away against their will to Kir. And he put Rezin to death.

10. రాజైన ఆహాజు అష్షూరురాజైన తిగ్లత్పిలేసెరును కలిసికొనుటకై దమస్కు పట్టణమునకు వచ్చి, దమస్కు పట్టణమందు ఒక బలిపీఠమును చూచి, దాని పోలికెను, మచ్చును, దాని పని విధ మంతయును యాజకుడైన ఊరియాకు పంపెను.

10. King Ahaz went to Damascus to meet King Tiglath-pileser of Assyria. He saw the altar at Damascus. And King Ahaz sent to Urijah the religious leader the plans of the altar and a small object made to look just like it.

11. కాబట్టి యాజకుడైన ఊరియా రాజైన ఆహాజు దమస్కుపట్టణము నుండి పంపిన మచ్చునకు సమమైన యొక బలిపీఠమును కట్టించి, రాజైన ఆహాజు దమస్కునుండి తిరిగి రాకమునుపే సిద్ధపరచెను.

11. So Urijah the religious leader built an altar, following all the plans King Ahaz had sent from Damascus. Urijah made it before King Ahaz came from Damascus.

12. అంతట రాజు దమస్కునుండి వచ్చి బలిపీఠమును చూచి ఆ బలిపీఠమునొద్దకు వచ్చి దాని ఎక్కి

12. When the king came from Damascus, he saw the altar and went up to it.

13. దహన బలిని నైవేద్యమును అర్పించి పానార్పణము చేసి, తాను అర్పించిన సమాధానబలిపశువుల రక్తమును దానిమీద ప్రోక్షించెను.

13. There he burned his burnt gift and his grain gift. He poured his drink gift and put the blood of his peace gift on the altar.

14. మరియు యెహోవా సన్నిధి నున్న యిత్తడి బలిపీఠము మందిరము ముంగిటి స్థలమునుండి అనగా తాను కట్టించిన బలిపీఠమునకును యెహోవా మందిరమునకును మధ్యనుండి తీయించి, తాను కట్టించిన దాని ఉత్తర పార్శ్వమందు దానిని ఉంచెను.

14. He took the brass altar which was before the Lord in front of the house, between his altar and the Lord's house, and he put it on the north side of his altar.

15. అప్పుడు రాజైన ఆహాజు యాజకుడైన ఊరియాకు ఆజ్ఞాపించిన దేమనగాఈ పెద్ద బలిపీఠముమీద ఉదయము అర్పించు దహనబలులను, సాయంత్రమున అర్పించు నైవేద్యములను రాజు చేయు దహనబలి నైవేద్యములను దేశపు జనులందరు అర్పించు దహనబలి నైవేద్యములను పానార్పణలను దహించి, యే దహనబలి జరిగినను, ఏ బలిజరిగినను వాటి పశువుల రక్తమును దానిమీదనే ప్రోక్షింపవలెను. అయితే ఈ యిత్తడి బలిపీఠము దేవునియొద్ద నేను విచారణ చేయుట కుంచవలెను.

15. Then King Ahaz told Urijah the religious leader, 'Upon the large altar, give the morning burnt gift, the evening grain gift, and the king's burnt gift and his grain gift. Give them with the burnt gifts of all the people of the land and their grain gifts and drink gifts. Put on it all the blood of the burnt gifts given in worship. But the brass altar will be for me to go to when I ask the Lord what should be done.'

16. కాగా యాజ కుడైన ఊరియా రాజైన ఆహాజు ఆజ్ఞ చొప్పున అంతయుచేసెను.

16. Urijah the religious leader did all that King Ahaz told him.

17. మరియు రాజైన ఆహాజు స్తంభముల అంచులను తీసివేసి వాటిమీదనున్న తొట్టిని తొలగించెను, ఇత్తడి యెడ్లమీద నున్న సముద్రమును దింపి రాతి కట్టుమీద దానిని ఉంచెను.

17. Then King Ahaz cut off the pillars and took the water pots away from them. He took the big brass pool off of the brass bulls, and put it down on stone.

18. He took from the house of the Lord the covered way they had built in the house, and the king's gate because of the king of Assyria.

19. ఆహాజుచేసిన యితర కార్య ములనుగూర్చి యూదా రాజుల వృత్తాంతముల గ్రంథ మందు వ్రాయబడి యున్నది.

19. Now the rest of the acts of Ahaz are written in the Book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Judah.

20. ఆహాజు తన పితరులతో కూడ నిద్రించి దావీదు పురమందు తన పితరుల సమాధిలో పాతి పెట్టబడెను; అతని కుమారుడైన హిజ్కియా అతనికి మారుగా రాజాయెను.

20. Ahaz died, and was buried with his fathers in the city of David. And his son Hezekiah ruled in his place.
