1. నీవు మకరమును గాలముతో బయటికి లాగగలవా?దాని నాలుకకు త్రాడువేసి లాగగలవా?

1. Canst thou draw out leviathan with a hook or with the cord [which] thou lettest down on his tongue?

2. నీవు దాని ముక్కుగుండ సూత్రము వేయగలవా? దాని దవడకు గాలము ఎక్కింపగలవా?

2. Canst thou put a hook into his nose or bore his jaw through with a thorn?

3. అది నీతో విన్నపములు చేయునా? మృదువైన మాటలు నీతో పలుకునా?

3. Will he make many supplications unto thee? Will he speak soft [words] unto thee?

4. నీవు శాశ్వతముగా దానిని దాసునిగా చేసికొనునట్లు అది నీతో నిబంధనచేయునా?

4. Will he make a covenant with thee that thou shall take him for a servant for ever?

5. నీవు ఒక పిట్టతో ఆటలాడునట్లు దానితో ఆట లాడెదవా? నీ కన్యకలు ఆడుకొనుటకై దాని కట్టివేసెదవా?

5. Wilt thou play with him as [with] a bird, or wilt thou tie him up for thy maidens?

6. బెస్తవారు దానితో వ్యాపారము చేయుదురా? వారు దానిని తునకలు చేసి వర్తకులతో వ్యాపారము చేయుదురా?

6. Shall the companions make a banquet of him? Shall they part him among the merchants?

7. దాని ఒంటినిండ ఇనుప శూలములు గుచ్చగలవా? దాని తలనిండ చేప అలుగులు గుచ్చగలవా?

7. Canst thou cut his skin with knives or his head with a fish spear?

8. దానిమీద నీ చెయ్యి వేసి చూడుము దానితో కలుగు పోరు నీవు జ్ఞాపకము చేసికొనిన యెడల నీవు మరల ఆలాగున చేయకుందువు.

8. Lay thine hand upon him; thou shalt remember the battle and do no more.

9. దాని చూచినప్పుడు మనుష్యులు దానిని వశపరచు కొందుమన్న ఆశ విడిచెదరు దాని పొడ చూచిన మాత్రముచేతనే యెవరికైనను గుండెలు అవిసిపోవును గదా.

9. Behold, your hope [regarding] him shall fail; for even at the sight of him they shall faint.

10. దాని రేపుటకైనను తెగింపగల శూరుడు లేడు. అట్లుండగా నా యెదుట నిలువగలవాడెవడు?

10. No one [is so] bold as to dare stir him up; who then shall be able to stand before me?

11. నేను తిరిగి ఇయ్యవలసి యుండునట్లు నాకెవడైనను ఏమైనను ఇచ్చెనా? ఆకాశవైశాల్యమంతటి క్రింద నున్నదంతయు నాదే గదా

11. Who has preceded me, that I should repay [him]? All that is under the whole heaven is mine.

12. దాని అవయవములను గూర్చియైనను దాని మహాబల మునుగూర్చియైనను దాని చక్కని తీరునుగూర్చి యైనను పలుకక మౌనముగా నుండను.

12. I will not conceal his lies, nor his might, nor the beauty of his order.

13. ఎవడైన దాని పై కవచమును లాగివేయగలడా? దాని రెండు దవడల నడిమికి ఎవడైన రాగలడా?

13. Who shall uncover the face of his garment? [Or] who shall come to him with a double bridle?

14. దాని ముఖద్వారములను తెరవగలవాడెవడు? దాని పళ్లచుట్టు భయకంపములు కలవు

14. Who shall open the doors of his face? The orders of his teeth [are] terrible.

15. దాని గట్టిపొలుసులు దానికి అతిశయాస్పదము ఎవరును తీయలేని ముద్రచేత అవి సంతనచేయబడి యున్నవి.

15. His scales [are his] pride, shut up together [as with] a close seal.

16. అవి ఒకదానితో ఒకటి హత్తుకొని యున్నవి. వాటి మధ్యకు గాలి యేమాత్రమును జొరనేరదు.

16. One is so near to another, that no air can come between them.

17. ఒకదానితో ఒకటి అతకబడి యున్నవి భేదింప శక్యము కాకుండ అవి యొకదానితో నొకటి కలిసికొని యున్నవి.

17. They are joined one to another; they stick together, that they cannot be separated.

18. అది తుమ్మగా వెలుగు ప్రకాశించును దాని కన్నులు ఉదయకాలపు కనురెప్పలవలె నున్నవి

18. By his sneezings lights are lit, and his eyes [are] like the eyelids of the morning.

19. దాని నోటనుండి జ్వాలలు బయలుదేరును అగ్ని కణములు దానినుండి లేచును.

19. Out of his mouth go burning lamps, [and] sparks of fire leap out.

20. ఉడుకుచున్న కాగులోనుండి, జమ్ముమంటమీద కాగు చున్న బానలోనుండి పొగ లేచునట్లు దాని నాసికారంధ్రములలోనుండి లేచును.

20. Out of his nostrils goes forth smoke, as [out] of a seething pot or caldron.

21. దాని ఊపిరి నిప్పులను రాజబెట్టును దాని నోటనుండి జ్వాలలు బయలుదేరును

21. His breath kindles coals, and a flame goes out of his mouth.

22. దాని మెడ బలమునకు స్థానము భయము దానియెదుట తాండవమాడుచుండును

22. In his neck dwells strength, and before him the work is undone.

23. దాని ప్రక్కలమీద మాంసము దళముగా ఉన్నది అది దాని ఒంటిని గట్టిగా అంటియున్నది అది ఊడి రాదు.

23. The failings of his flesh are joined together; [his flesh] is firm in him and does not move.

24. దాని గుండె రాతివలె గట్టిగా నున్నది అది తిరుగటి క్రింది దిమ్మంత కఠినము.

24. His heart is as firm as a stone; as hard as a piece of the lower [millstone].

25. అది లేచునప్పుడు బలిష్ఠులు భయపడుదురు అధిక భయముచేత వారు మైమరతురు.

25. Of his greatness, the mighty are afraid; by reason of breakings they remove sin from themselves.

26. దాని చంపుటకై ఒకడు ఖడ్గము దూయుట వ్యర్థమే ఈటెలైనను బాణములైనను పంట్రకోలలైనను అక్క రకు రావు.

26. When one catches up to him, no sword or spear or dart or coat of mail shall endure [against him].

27. ఇది ఇనుమును గడ్డిపోచగాను ఇత్తడిని పుచ్చిపోయిన కఱ్ఱగాను ఎంచును.

27. He esteems iron as straw [and] bronze as rotten wood.

28. బాణము దానిని పారదోలజాలదు వడిసెల రాళ్లు దాని దృష్టికి చెత్తవలె ఉన్నవి.

28. The arrow cannot make him flee; with him, slingstones are turned into stubble.

29. దుడ్డుకఱ్ఱలు గడ్డిపరకలుగా ఎంచబడును అది వడిగా పోవుచుండు ఈటెను చూచి నవ్వును.

29. He counts any weapon as stubble; he laughs at the shaking of a spear.

30. దాని క్రిందిభాగములు కరుకైన చిల్లపెంకులవలె ఉన్నవి. అది బురదమీద నురిపిడికొయ్యవంటి తన దేహమును పరచుకొనును.

30. Broken clay vessels [are] under him; he carves his imprint upon the mire.

31. కాగు మసలునట్లు మహాసముద్రమును అది పొంగ జేయును సముద్రమును తైలమువలె చేయును.

31. He makes the deep to boil like a pot; he makes the sea like a pot of ointment.

32. అది తాను నడచిన త్రోవను తన వెనుక ప్రకాశింప జేయును చూచినవారికి సముద్రము నెరసిన వెండ్రుకలుగా తోచును.

32. He makes the path shine after him; [one] would think the deep [to be] hoary.

33. అది భయములేనిదిగా సృజింపబడినది భూమిమీద దానివంటిదేదియు లేదు.

33. Upon earth there is not his like, who behaves without fear.

34. అది గొప్పవాటినన్నిటిని తిరస్కరించును గర్వించిన జంతువులన్నిటికి అది రాజు.

34. He despises all exalted [things]; he is king over all the sons of pride.:
