1. అబ్రాహాము దినములలో వచ్చిన మొదటి కరవు గాక మరియొక కరవు ఆ దేశములో వచ్చెను. అప్పడు ఇస్సాకు గెరారులోనున్న ఫిలిష్తీయుల రాజైన అబీమెలెకు నొద్దకు వెళ్లెను.

1. Then came a time of great need in the land, like that which had been before in the days of Abraham. And Isaac went to Abimelech, king of the Philistines, at Gerar.

2. అక్కడ యెహోవా అతనికి ప్రత్యక్షమై నీవు ఐగుప్తులోనికి వెళ్లక నేను నీతో చెప్పు దేశమందు నివసించుము.

2. And the Lord came to him in a vision and said, Do not go down to Egypt; keep in the land of which I will give you knowledge:

3. ఈ దేశమందు పరవాసివై యుండుము. నేను నీకు తోడైయుండి నిన్ను ఆశీర్వదించెదను;
హెబ్రీయులకు 11:9

3. Keep in this land, and I will be with you and give you my blessing; for to you and to your seed will I give all these lands, giving effect to the oath which I made to your father Abraham;

4. ఏలయనగా నీకును నీ సంతానమునకును ఈ దేశములన్నియు ఇచ్చి, నీ తండ్రియైన అబ్రాహాముతో నేను చేసిన ప్రమాణము నెరవేర్చి, ఆకాశ నక్షత్రములవలె నీ సంతానమును విస్తరింపచేసి ఈ దేశములన్నియు నీ సంతానమునకు ఇచ్చెదను. నీ సంతానమువలన సమస్త భూలోకములోని సమస్త జనులు ఆశీర్వదింపబడుదురు.

4. I will make your seed like the stars of heaven in number, and will give them all these lands, and your seed will be a blessing to all the nations of the earth;

5. ఏలయనగా అబ్రాహాము నా మాట విని నేను విధించిన దాని నా ఆజ్ఞలను నా కట్టడలను నా నియమములను గైకొనెనని చెప్పెను.

5. Because Abraham gave ear to my voice and kept my words, my rules, my orders, and my laws.

6. ఇస్సాకు గెరారులో నివసించెను.

6. So Isaac went on living in Gerar;

7. ఆ చోటి మనుష్యులు అతని భార్యను చూచి - ఆమె యెవరని అడిగినప్పుడు అతడు ఆమె నా సహోదరి అని చెప్పెను; ఎందుకనగా - రిబ్కా చక్కనిది గనుక ఈ చోటి మనుష్యులు ఆమె నిమిత్తము నన్ను చంపుదురేమో అనుకొని తన భార్య అని చెప్పుటకు భయపడెను.

7. And when he was questioned by the men of the place about his wife, he said, She is my sister; fearing to say, She is my wife; for, he said, the men of the place may put me to death on account of Rebekah; because she is very beautiful.

8. అక్కడ అతడు చాలా దినములుండిన తరువాత ఫిలిష్తీయుల రాజైన అబీమెలెకు కిటికీలో నుండి చూచినప్పుడు ఇస్సాకు తన భార్యయైన రిబ్కాతో సరసమాడుట కనబడెను.

8. And when he had been there for some time, Abimelech, king of the Philistines, looking through a window, saw Isaac playing with Rebekah his wife.

9. అప్పుడు అబీమెలెకు ఇస్సాకును పిలిపించి ఇదిగో ఆమె నీ భార్యయే ఆమె నా సహోదరి అని యేల చెప్పితివని అడుగగా ఇస్సాకు ఆమెను బట్టి నేను చనిపోవుదు నేమో అనుకొంటినని అతనితో చెప్పెను.

9. And he said to Isaac, It is clear that she is your wife: why then did you say, She is my sister? And Isaac said, For fear that I might be put to death because of her.

10. అందుకు అబీమెలెకు నీవు మాకు చేసిన యీ పని యేమి? ఈ జనులలో ఎవడైన ఆమెతో నిర్భయముగా శయనించవచ్చునే. అప్పుడు నీవు మామీదికి పాతకము తెచ్చిపెట్టు వాడవుగదా అనెను.

10. Then Abimelech said, What have you done to us? one of the people might well have had connection with your wife, and the sin would have been ours.

11. అబీమెలెకు ఈ మనుష్యుని జోలికైనను ఇతని భార్య జోలికైనను వెళ్లు వాడు నిశ్చయముగా మరణశిక్ష పొందునని తన ప్రజల కందరికి ఆజ్ఞాపింపగా

11. And Abimelech gave orders to his people that anyone touching Isaac or his wife was to be put to death.

12. ఇస్సాకు ఆ దేశమందున్నవాడై విత్తనము వేసి ఆ సంవత్సరము నూరంతలు ఫలము పొందెను. యెహోవా అతనిని ఆశీర్వదించెను గనుక ఆ మనుష్యుడు గొప్పవాడాయెను.

12. Now Isaac, planting seed in that land, got in the same year fruit a hundred times as much, for the blessing of the Lord was on him.

13. అతడు మిక్కిలి గొప్పవాడగు వరకు క్రమ క్రమముగా అభివృద్ధి పొందుచు వచ్చెను.

13. And his wealth became very great, increasing more and more;

14. అతనికి గొఱ్ఱెల ఆస్తియు గొడ్ల ఆస్తియు దాసులు గొప్ప సమూహమును కలిగినందున ఫిలిష్తీయులు అతనియందు అసూయ పడిరి.

14. For he had great wealth of flocks and herds and great numbers of servants; so that the Philistines were full of envy.

15. అతని తండ్రియైన అబ్రాహాము దినములలో అతని తండ్రి దాసులు త్రవ్విన బావులన్నిటిని ఫిలిష్తీయులు మన్ను పోసి పూడ్చివేసిరి.

15. Now all the water-holes, which his father's servants had made in the days of Abraham, had been stopped up with earth by the Philistines.

16. అబీమెలెకు నీవు మాకంటె బహు బలము గలవాడవు గనుక మాయొద్ద నుండి వెళ్లిపొమ్మని ఇస్సాకుతో చెప్పగా

16. And Abimelech said to Isaac, Go away from us, for you are stronger than we are.

17. ఇస్సాకు అక్కడనుండి వెళ్లి గెరారు లోయలో గుడారము వేసికొని అక్కడ నివసించెను.

17. So Isaac went away from there, and put up his tents in the valley of Gerar, making his living-place there.

18. అప్పుడు తన తండ్రియైన అబ్రాహాము దినములలో త్రవ్విన నీళ్ల బావులు ఇస్సాకు తిరిగి త్రవ్వించెను; ఏలయనగా అబ్రాహాము మృతిబొందిన తరువాత ఫిలిష్తీయులు వాటిని పూడ్చివేసిరి. అతడు తన తండ్రి వాటికి పెట్టిన పేళ్ల చొప్పున తిరిగి వాటికి పేర్లు పెట్టెను.

18. And he made again the water-holes which had been made in the days of Abraham his father, and which had been stopped up by the Philistines; and he gave them the names which his father had given them.

19. మరియు ఇస్సాకు దాసులు ఆ లోయలో త్రవ్వగా జెలలుగల నీళ్లబావి దొరికెను.

19. Now Isaac's servants made holes in the valley, and came to a spring of flowing water.

20. అప్పుడు గెరారు కాపరులు ఇస్సాకు కాపరులతో జగడమాడి ఈ నీరు మాదే అని చెప్పిరి గనుక వారు తనతో కలహించినందున అతడు ఆ బావికి ఏశెకు అను పేరు పెట్టెను.

20. But the herdmen of Gerar had a fight with Isaac's herdmen, for they said, The spring is ours: so he gave the spring the name of Esek, because there was a fight about it.

21. వారు మరియొక బావి త్రవ్వినప్పుడు దానికొరకును జగడమాడిరి గనుక దానికి శిత్నా అను పేరు పెట్టెను.

21. Then they made another water-hole, and there was a fight about that, so he gave it the name of Sitnah.

22. అతడు అక్కడనుండి వెళ్లి మరియొక బావి త్రవ్వించెను. దాని విషయమై వారు జగడమాడలేదు గనుక అతడు ఇప్పుడు యెహోవా మనకు ఎడము కలుగజేసియున్నాడు గనుక యీ దేశమందు అభివృద్ధి పొందుదుమనుకొని దానికి రహెబోతు అను పేరు పెట్టెను.

22. Then he went away from there, and made another water-hole, about which there was no fighting: so he gave it the name of Rehoboth, for he said, Now the Lord has made room for us, and we will have fruit in this land.

23. అక్కడనుండి అతడు బెయేర్షెబాకు వెళ్లెను.

23. And from there he went on to Beer-sheba.

24. ఆ రాత్రియే యెహోవా అతనికి ప్రత్యక్షమై నేను నీ తండ్రియైన అబ్రాహాము దేవుడను, నేను నీకు తోడైయున్నాను గనుక భయపడకుము; నా దాసుడైన అబ్రాహామును బట్టి నిన్ను ఆశీర్వదించి నీ సంతానమును విస్తరింపచేసెదనని చెప్పెను.

24. That night the Lord came to him in a vision, and said, I am the God of your father Abraham: have no fear for I am with you, blessing you, and your seed will be increased because of my servant Abraham.

25. అక్కడ అతడొక బలిపీఠము కట్టించి యెహోవా నామమున ప్రార్థనచేసి అక్కడ తన గుడారము వేసెను. అప్పుడు ఇస్సాకు దాసులు అక్కడ బావి త్రవ్విరి.

25. Then he made an altar there, and gave worship to the name of the Lord, and he put up his tents there, and there his servants made a water-hole.

26. అంతట అబీమెలెకును అతని స్నేహితుడైన అహుజతును అతని సేనాధిపతియైన ఫీకోలును గెరారు నుండి అతని యొద్దకు వచ్చిరి.

26. And Abimelech had come to him from Gerar, with Ahuzzath his friend and Phicol, the captain of his army.

27. ఇస్సాకు - మీరు నామీద పగపట్టి మీయొద్దనుండి నన్ను పంపివేసిన తరువాత ఎందునిమిత్తము నా యొద్దకు వచ్చియున్నారని వారినడుగగా

27. And Isaac said to them, Why have you come to me, seeing that in your hate for me you sent me away from you?

28. వారు నిశ్చయముగా యెహోవా నీకు తోడైయుండుట చూచితివిు గనుక మనకు, అనగా మాకును నీకును మధ్య నొక ప్రమాణముండవలెననియు

28. And they said, We saw clearly that the Lord was with you: so we said, Let there be an oath between us and you, and let us make an agreement with you;

29. మేము నిన్ను ముట్టక నీకు మేలే తప్ప మరేమియు చేయక నిన్ను సమాధానముగా పంపివేసితివిు గనుక నీవును మాకు కీడు చేయకుండునట్లు నీతో నిబంధన చేసికొందుమనియు అనుకొంటిమి; ఇప్పుడు నీవు యెహోవా ఆశీర్వాదము పొందిన వాడవనిరి.

29. That you will do us no damage, even as we put no hand on you, and did you nothing but good, and sent you away in peace: and now the blessing of the Lord is on you.

30. అతడు వారికి విందుచేయగా వారు అన్నపానములు పుచ్చుకొనిరి.

30. Then he made a feast for them, and they all had food and drink.

31. తెల్లవారినప్పుడు వారు లేచి ఒకనితో ఒకడు ప్రమాణము చేసికొనిరి; తరువాత ఇస్సాకు వారిని సాగనంపగా వారు అతని యొద్దనుండి సమాధానముగా వెళ్లిరి.

31. And early in the morning they took an oath one to the other: then Isaac sent them away and they went on their way in peace.

32. ఆ దినమందే ఇస్సాకు దాసులు వచ్చి తాము త్రవ్విన బావినిగూర్చి అతనికి తెలియచేసి మాకు నీళ్లు కనబడినవని చెప్పిరి గనుక

32. And that day Isaac's servants came to him and gave him word of the water-hole which they had made, and said to him, We have come to water.

33. దానికి షేబ అను పేరు పెట్టెను. కాబట్టి నేటి వరకు ఆ ఊరి పేరు బెయేర్షెబా.

33. And he gave it the name of Shibah: so the name of that town is Beer-sheba to this day.

34. ఏశావు నలువది సంవత్సరముల వాడైనప్పుడు హిత్తీయుడైన బేయేరీ కుమార్తెయగు యహూదీతును హిత్తీయుడైన ఏలోను కుమార్తెయగు బాశెమతును పెండ్లిచేసికొనెను.

34. And when Esau was forty years old, he took as his wives Judith, the daughter of Beeri the Hittite, and Basemath, the daughter of Elon the Hittite:

35. వీరు ఇస్సాకునకును రిబ్కాకును మనోవేదన కలుగజేసిరి.

35. And Isaac and Rebekah had grief of mind because of them.
