1. యహోవా మందసము ఏడు నెలలు ఫిలిష్తీయుల దేశమందుండిన తరువాత

1. And so when ark of the LORD had been in the country of the Philistines seven months,

2. ఫిలిష్తీయుల యాజకులను శకు నము చూచువారిని పిలువనంపించియెహోవా మందస మును ఏమి చేయుదుము? ఏమి చేసి స్వస్థలమునకు దానిని పంపుదుమో తెలియజెప్పుడనగా

2. the Philistines called for the priests and the soothsayers saying: what shall we do with the ark of the LORD? tell us wherewith we shall send it home again.

3. వారుఇశ్రాయేలీయుల దేవుని మందసమును పంపివేయ నుద్దేశించినయెడల ఊరకయే పంపక, యే విధముచేతనైనను ఆయనకు అప రాధార్థమైన అర్పణము చెల్లించి పంపవలెను. అప్పుడు మీరు స్వస్థతనొంది ఆయన హస్తము మీ మీదనుండి యెందుకు తియ్యబడక యుండెనో మీరు తెలిసికొందు రనిరి.

3. They answered if you send the ark of the God of Israel home again send it not empty: But reward it with a trespass offering: and then ye shall be whole, and it shall be known to you, why his hand departeth not from you.

4. ఫలిష్తీయులుమనము ఆయనకు చెల్లింపవలసిన అపరాధార్థమైన అర్పణమేదని వారినడుగగా వారుమీ అందరిమీదను మీ సర్దారులందరి మీదను ఉన్నతెగులు ఒక్కటే గనుక, ఫిలిష్తీయుల సర్దారుల లెక్క చొప్పున అయిదు బంగారపు గడ్డల రూపములను, అయిదు బంగారపు పందికొక్కులను చెల్లింపవలెను.

4. Then said they, what shall be the trespass offering which we shall reward him with? And they answered: five golden arses with Emerods and five golden mice, according to the number of the lords of the Philistines. For it was one manner of plague that was on you all, and on your lords too.

5. కాబట్టి మీకు కలిగిన గడ్డలుగాను భూమిని పాడుచేయు పంది కొక్కులుగాను నిరూపించబడిన గడ్డలను చుంచులను చేసి పంపించి ఇశ్రాయేలీయుల దేవునికి మహిమను చెల్లింప వలెను. అప్పుడు మీ మీదను మీ దేవతలమీదను మీ భూమిమీదను భారముగా నున్న తన హస్తమును ఆయన తీసివేయును కాబోలు.

5. Wherefore ye shall make images like to your arses with Emerods and images like to your mice that destroyed your land, and shall give glory unto the God of Israel: that he may take his hand from off you, and from off your gods, and from off your land.

6. ఐగుప్తీయులును ఫరోయును తమ హృదయములను కఠినపరచుకొనినట్లు మీ హృద యములను మీరెందుకు కఠినపరచుకొందురు? ఆయన వారిలో అద్భుతకార్యములను చేయగా వారు ఈ జనులను పోనిచ్చిరి; ఇశ్రాయేలీయులు వెళ్లిపోయిరి గదా.

6. Wherefore should ye harden your hearts as the Egyptians and Pharao hardened their hearts, which for all that (when he had played his pageants with them) were fain to let the people go and depart.

7. కాబట్టి మీరు క్రొత్త బండి ఒకటి చేయించి, కాడిమోయని పాడి ఆవులను రెంటిని తోలితెచ్చి బండికి కట్టి వాటి దూడలను వాటి దగ్గరనుండి యింటికి తోలి

7. Now therefore make a new cart and take two milch kine, on whose neck never came yoke. And tie the kine in the cart, and bring the calves home from them.

8. యెహోవా మందసమును ఆ బండిమీద ఎత్తి, అపరా ధార్థముగా ఆయనకు మీరు అర్పింపవలసిన బంగారపు వస్తువులను దాని ప్రక్కనే చిన్న పెట్టెలో ఉంచి అది మార్గమున పోవునట్లుగా విడిచిపెట్టుడి.

8. Then take the ark of the LORD and put it in the cart, and put the Jewels of gold (which ye reward him with for a trespass offering) in a forcer by the side thereof and send it away and let it go.

9. అది బేత్షెమెషుకు పోవు మార్గమున బడి యీ దేశపు సరిహద్దు దాటిన యెడల ఆయనే యీ గొప్పకీడు మనకు చేసెనని తెలిసి కొనవచ్చును; ఆ మార్గమున పోనియెడల ఆయన మనలను మొత్తలేదనియు, మన అదృష్టవశముచేతనే అది మనకు సంభవించెననియు తెలిసికొందు మనిరి.

9. And mark if he go up by the way that leadeth unto his own coast, to Bethsames, then it is he that did us this great evil. But and if he do not, then it is not his hand that smote us, but it was a chance that happened us.

10. వారు ఆలా గున రెండు పాడి ఆవులను తోలితెచ్చి బండికి కట్టి వాటి దూడలను ఇంటిలోపల పెట్టి

10. And the men did even so: they took two kine that gave milk and tied them in the cart, and kept the calves at home,

11. యెహోవా మందసమును బంగారు గడ్డలును పందికొక్కు రూపములును గల ఆ చిన్న పెట్టెను బండిమీద ఎత్తగా

11. and they laid the ark of the LORD upon the cart and the forcer with the mice of gold and the images of their arses with Emerods.

12. ఆ ఆవులు రాజ మార్గమునబడి చక్కగా పోవుచు అరచుచు, బేత్షెమెషు మార్గమున నడిచెను. ఫిలిష్తీయుల సర్దారులు వాటి వెంబ డియే బేత్షెమెషు సరిహద్దు వరకు పోయిరి.

12. And the kine took the straight way to Bethsames, both one way, and as they went, lowed, turning neither to the right hand nor to the left. And the lords of the Philistines went after them until they came to the borders of Bethsames.

13. బేత్షెమెషువారు లోయలో తమ గోధుమచేలను కోయుచుండిరి; వారు కన్నులెత్తి చూడగా మందసము వారికి కనబడెను, దానిని చూచి వారు సంతోషించిరి.

13. And they of Bethsames were reaping their wheat harvest in the valley. And they lifted up their eyes and spied the ark. And rejoiced when they saw it.

14. ఆ బండి బేత్షెమెషు వాడైన యెహోషువయొక్క పొలములోనికి వచ్చి అక్కడనున్న ఒక పెద్ద రాతిదగ్గర నిలువగా, వారు బండి యొక్క కఱ్ఱలను చీల్చి ఆవులను యెహోవాకు దహన బలిగా అర్పించిరి.

14. And the cart came into the grove of one Jehosua a Bethsamite, and stood still there. There was there also a great stone. And they clave the wood of the cart and offered the kine a burnt offering unto the LORD.

15. లేవీయులు యెహోవా మందసమును బంగారపు వస్తువులుగల ఆ చిన్న పెట్టెను దించి ఆ పెద్ద రాతిమీద ఉంచగా, ఆ దినమున బేత్షెమెషువారు యెహోవాకు దహనబలులను అర్పించి బలులను వధించిరి.

15. And the Levites took down the ark of the LORD and the forcer that was thereby, wherein the Jewels of gold were and put them on the great stone. And the men of Bethsames sacrificed burnt sacrifice and offered offerings that same day unto the LORD.

16. ఫిలిష్తీయుల సర్దారులు అయిదుగురు అంతవరకు చూచి నాడే ఎక్రోనునకు తిరిగి వెళ్లిరి

16. And when the five lords of the Philistines had seen it, they returned to Akaron the same day.

17. అపరాధార్థమైన అర్పణగా ఫిలిష్తీయులు చెల్లించిన బంగారపు గడ్డలు ఏవనగా, అష్డోదువారి నిమిత్తము ఒకటి, గాజావారి నిమిత్తము ఒకటి, అష్కెలోను వారి నిమిత్తము ఒకటి, గాతువారి నిమిత్తము ఒకటి, ఎక్రోనువారి నిమిత్తము ఒకటి.

17. These are the golden arses with Emerods which the Philistines gave to amends for a trespass offering to the LORD: for Asdod one: for Gaza one: for Askalon one: for Geth one: and for Akaron one.

18. ప్రాకారముగల పట్టణములవారేమి పొలములోని గ్రామములవారేమి ఫిలిష్తీయుల అయిదుగురు సర్దారుల పట్టణములన్నిటి లెక్క చొప్పున బంగారపు పంది కొక్కులను అర్పించిరి. వారు యెహోవా మందసమును దింపిన పెద్దరాయి దీనికి సాక్ష్యము. నేటివరకు ఆ రాయి బేత్షెమెషు వాడైన యెహోషువయొక్క పొలములో నున్నది.

18. And the golden mice were according to the number of all the cities of the Philistines thorow the five lordships: both of walled towns and of towns unwailed, even unto the great stone, whereon they set down the ark of the LORD: which stone remaineth unto this day in the field of Jehosua the Bethsamite.

19. బేత్షెమెషువారు యెహోవా మందసమును తెరచి చూడగా దేవుడు వారిని హతముచేసి ఆ జనులలో ఏబది వేల డెబ్బదిమందిని మొత్తెను. యెహోవా గొప్ప దెబ్బతో అనేకులను మొత్తగా జనులు దుఃఖా క్రాంతులైరి.

19. And he plagued the men of Bethsames, because they had seen the ark of the LORD. And he slew of the people fifty thousand and three score and ten persons. And the people lamented, because the LORD had slain so great a slaughter of them.

20. అప్పుడు బేత్షెమెషువారు పరిశుద్ధదేవుడైన యెహోవా సన్నిధిని ఎవరు నిలువగలరు? మనయొద్దనుండి ఆయన ఎవరియొద్దకు పోవలెనని చెప్పి

20. And the men of Bethsames said who is able to stand before the LORD so holy a God and to whom shall he go from us?

21. కిర్యత్యారీము కాపురస్థులకు దూతలను పంపిఫిలిష్తీయులు యెహోవా మందసమును మరల తీసికొని వచ్చిరి; మీరు వచ్చి మీ దాపునకు దానిని తీసికొని పోవలెనని వర్తమానము పంపిరి.

21. And they sent messengers to the inhabiters of Kariath Jarim saying: The Philistines have brought home again the Ark of the LORD: come down and fetch it up to you.
