1. సౌలు కుటుంబికులకును దావీదు కుటుంబికులకును బహుకాలము యుద్ధము జరుగగా దావీదు అంత కంతకు ప్రబలెను; సౌలు కుటుంబము అంతకంతకు నీరసిల్లెను.

1. The war between the house of Sha'ul and the house of David dragged on, but David grew stronger, while the house of Sha'ul became weaker.

2. హెబ్రోనులో దావీదునకు పుట్టిన కుమారులెవరనగా, అమ్నోను అను అతని జ్యేష్ఠపుత్రుడు యెజ్రెయేలీయు రాలగు అహీనోయమువలన పుట్టెను.

2. Sons were born to David in Hevron. His firstborn was Amnon, whose mother was Achino'am from Yizre'el;

3. కిల్యాబు అను రెండవవాడు కర్మెలీయుడగు నాబాలు భార్యయైన అబీగ యీలు వలన పుట్టెను. మూడవవాడైన అబ్షాలోము గెషూరు రాజగు తల్మయి కుమార్తెయగు మయకావలన పుట్టెను.

3. his second, Kil'av, whose mother was Avigayil the widow of Naval from Karmel; the third, Avshalom, whose mother was Ma'akhah the daughter of Talmai king of G'shur;

4. నాలుగవవాడగు అదోనీయా హగ్గీతువలన పుట్టెను. అయిదవవాడగు షెఫట్య అబీటలువలన పుట్టెను.

4. the fourth, Adoniyah the son of Haggit; the fifth, Sh'fatyah the son of Avital;

5. ఆరవవాడగు ఇత్రెయాము దావీదునకు భార్యయగు ఎగ్లావలన పుట్టెను. వీరు హెబ్రోనులో దావీదునకు పుట్టిన కుమారులు.

5. and the sixth, Yitre'am, whose mother was 'Eglah David's wife. These were born to David in Hevron.

6. సౌలు కుటుంబికులకును దావీదు కుటుంబికులకును యుద్ధము జరుగుచుండగా అబ్నేరు సౌలు కుటుంబికులకు బహు సహాయముచేసెను.

6. During the war that was going on between the house of Sha'ul and the house of David, Avner strengthened his position in the house of Sha'ul.

7. అయ్యా కుమార్తెయైన రిస్పా యను ఒక ఉపపత్ని సౌలుకుండెనునా తండ్రికి ఉప పత్నియగు దానిని నీ వెందుకు కూడితివని ఇష్బోషెతు అబ్నేరును అడుగగా

7. Sha'ul had had a concubine named Ritzpah, the daughter of Ayah; and [[Ish-Boshet]] challenged Avner: 'Why did you go and sleep with my father's concubine?'

8. అబ్నేరును ఇష్బోషెతు అడిగిన మాటకు బహుగా కోపగించుకొనినిన్ను దావీదు చేతి కప్పగింపక నీ తండ్రియైన సౌలు ఇంటి వారికిని అతని సహోదరులకును అతని స్నేహితులకును ఈవేళ ఉపకారము చేసిన నన్ను యూదావారికి చేరిన కుక్కతో సమానునిగాచేసి యీ దినమున ఒక స్త్రీనిబట్టి నామీద నేరము మోపుదువా?

8. These words of Ish-Boshet's enraged Avner. 'What am I,' he shouted, '[[that you treat me with such contempt]]? A dog's head in Y'hudah? Till this moment I have shown only kindness to the house of Sha'ul your father, and to his brothers and to his friends; and I haven't handed you over to David. Yet you choose today to pick a fight with me over this woman!

9. యెహోవా దావీదునకు ప్రమాణము చేసిన దానిని అతనిపక్షమున నేను నెరవేర్చనియెడల

9. May God bring terrible curses on Avner and worse ones yet if I don't accomplish what ADONAI swore to David-

10. దేవుడు నాకు గొప్ప అపాయము కలుగజేయును గాక; సౌలు ఇంటివారి వశము కాకుండ రాజ్యమును తప్పించి దాను మొదలుకొని బెయేర్షబావరకు దావీదు సింహాసనమును ఇశ్రాయేలువారిమీదను యూదా వారి మీదను నేను స్థిరపరచెదననెను.

10. to transfer the kingdom from the house of Sha'ul and set up the throne of David over Isra'el and Y'hudah, from Dan all the way to Be'er-Sheva!'

11. కావున ఇష్బోషెతు అబ్నేరునకు భయపడి యిక ఏ మాటయు పలుకలేక పోయెను.

11. Ish-Boshet couldn't answer Avner a word, because he was afraid of him.

12. అబ్నేరు తన తరపున దావీదునొద్దకు దూతలను పంపిఈ దేశము ఎవరిది? నీవు నాతో నిబంధనచేసినయెడల నేను నీకు సహాయము చేసి, ఇశ్రాయేలు వారినందరిని నీ తట్టు త్రిప్పెదనని వర్తమానము పంపగా దావీదుమంచిది; నేను నీతో నిబంధన చేసెదను.

12. Avner immediately sent envoys to David with this message: 'Who is going to control the land? If you make yourself my ally, I will use my power to bring all Isra'el over to you.'

13. అయితే నీవుఒకపని చేయవలెను; దర్శనమునకు వచ్చునప్పుడు సౌలు కుమార్తెయగు మీకాలును నా యొద్దకు తోడుకొని రావలెను; లేదా నీకు దర్శనము దొరకదనెను.

13. David sent this reply: 'Very well, I will be your ally- on one condition: you will not come into my presence unless at the same time you bring with you Mikhal Sha'ul's daughter.'

14. మరియు దావీదు సౌలు కుమారుడగు ఇష్బోషెతునొద్దకు దూతలను పంపిఫిలిష్తీయులలో నూరుమంది ముందోళ్లను తెచ్చి నేను పెండ్లి చేసికొనిన మీకాలును నాకప్పగింపుమని చెప్పుడనగా

14. David sent messengers to say to Ish-Boshet the son of Sha'ul, 'Give me back my wife Mikhal. I betrothed her to myself for 100 foreskins of the P'lishtim.'

15. ఇష్బోషెతు దూతను పంపి, లాయీషు కుమారుడగు పల్తీయేలు అను దాని పెనిమిటియొద్దనుండి మీకాలును పిలువనంపెను.

15. Ish-Boshet sent and took her from her husband Palti'el the son of Layish.

16. దాని పెనిమిటి బహూరీమువరకు దాని వెనుక ఏడ్చుచు రాగా అబ్నేరునీవు తిరిగి పొమ్మనెను గనుక అతడు వెళ్లిపోయెను.

16. Her husband went with her, crying as he went, and followed her to Bachurim. But when Avner told him, 'Go back,' he returned.

17. అంతలో అబ్నేరు ఇశ్రాయేలు వారి పెద్దలను పిలిపించిదావీదు మిమ్మును ఏలవలెనని మీరు ఇంతకు మునుపు కోరితిరి గదా

17. Then Avner conferred with the leaders of Isra'el. He said, 'In the past, you wanted David to be king over you.

18. నా సేవకుడైన దావీదుచేత నా జనులగు ఇశ్రాయేలీయులను ఫిలిష్తీయుల చేతిలో నుండియు, వారి శత్రువులందరి చేతిలోనుండియు విమోచించెదనని యెహోవా దావీదునుగూర్చి సెలవిచ్చియున్నాడు గనుక మీ కోరిక నెరవేర్చుకొనుడని వారితో చెప్పెను.

18. So now, do it. For ADONAI has said of David, 'Through my servant David I will rescue my people Isra'el from the power of the P'lishtim and from the power of all their enemies.''

19. మరియు అబ్నేరు బెన్యామీనీయులతో ఆలాగున మాటలాడిన తరువాత హెబ్రోనునకు వచ్చి ఇశ్రాయేలువారి దృష్టికిని బెన్యామీనీయులందరి దృష్టికిని ప్రయోజనమైన దానిని దావీదునకు పూర్తిగా తెలియచేసెను.

19. Avner also spoke with the people of Binyamin. Then Avner went to Hevron and reported to David everything that had been agreed to by Isra'el and the house of Binyamin.

20. అందు నిమిత్తమై అబ్నేరు ఇరువదిమందిని వెంటబెట్టుకొని హెబ్రోనులోనున్న దావీదునొద్దకు రాగా దావీదు అబ్నేరుకును అతనివారికిని విందు చేయించెను.

20. When Avner came to David in Hevron he brought twenty men with him. David held a feast for Avner and his men.

21. అంతట అబ్నేరునేను పోయి ఇశ్రాయేలువారినందరిని నా యేలినవాడవగు నీ పక్షమున సమకూర్చి, వారు నీతో నిబంధనచేయునట్లును, నీ చిత్తానుసారముగా నీవు రాజరికము వహించి కోరినదాని అంతటిమీద ఏలునట్లును చేయుదునని దావీదుతో చెప్పి దావీదునొద్ద సెలవుపుచ్చుకొని సమాధానముగా వెళ్లిపోయెను.

21. Avner said to David, 'I must get up and go to gather all Isra'el to my lord the king, so that they can make a covenant with you. Then you will be able to rule over everything your heart desires.' David sent Avner off, giving him safe conduct.

22. పిమ్మట దావీదు సేవకులును యోవాబును బందిపోటునుండి బహు విస్తారమైన దోపుడు సొమ్ము తీసికొనిరాగా అబ్నేరు హెబ్రోనులో దావీదునొద్ద లేకపోయెను, దావీదు అతనికి సెలవిచ్చియున్నందున అతడు సమాధానముగా వెళ్లిపోయి యుండెను.

22. Just then David's men and Yo'av returned from a raid, bringing a lot of plunder with them. But Avner was not with David in Hevron, because he had sent him off under safe conduct.

23. అయితే యోవాబును అతనియొద్దనున్న సైన్యమును వచ్చినప్పుడు నేరు కుమారుడగు అబ్నేరు రాజునొద్దకు వచ్చెననియు, రాజు అతనికి సెలవిచ్చి పంపెననియు, అతడు సమాధానముగా వెళ్లిపోయెననియు తెలిసికొని

23. When Yo'av and all his army had arrived, Yo'av was told, 'Avner the son of Ner came to the king, but he sent him off, and he has left under safe conduct.'

24. యోవాబు రాజునొద్దకు వచ్చిచిత్తగించుము, నీవు ఏమిచేసితివి? అబ్నేరు నీయొద్దకు వచ్చి నప్పుడు నీవెందుకు అతనికి సెలవిచ్చి పంపి వేసితివి?

24. Yo'av went to the king and said, 'What have you done? Here, Avner came to you, and you sent him away, and now he's gone! Why?

25. నేరు కుమారుడగు అబ్నేరును నీవెరుగవా? నిన్ను మోసపుచ్చి నీ రాకపోకలన్నిటిని నీవు చేయు సమస్తమును తెలిసికొనుటకై అతడు వచ్చెనని చెప్పి

25. You know Avner the son of Ner- he came only to deceive you, to learn what campaigns you're planning and to find out everything you're doing!'

26. దావీదునొద్దనుండి బయలువెడలి అబ్నేరును పిలుచుటకై దూతలను పంపెను. వారు పోయి సిరా యను బావిదగ్గరనుండి అతనిని తోడుకొని వచ్చిరి; అతడు వచ్చిన సంగతి దావీదునకు తెలియకయుండెను.

26. After leaving David, Yo'av sent messengers after Avner, and they brought him back from the water cistern at Sirah without David's knowledge.

27. అబ్నేరు తిరిగి హెబ్రోనునకు వచ్చినప్పుడుసంగతి యెవరికి వినబడకుండ గుమ్మము నడుమ ఏకాంతముగా అతనితో మాటలాడవలెనని యోవాబు అతని పిలిచి, తన సహోదరుడగు అశాహేలు ప్రాణము తీసినందుకై అతనిని కడుపులో పొడువగా అతడు చచ్చెను.

27. Upon Avner's return to Hevron, Yo'av took him aside into the space between the outer and inner city gates as if to speak with him privately; and there he struck him in the groin, so that he died- thus avenging the death of 'Asah'el his brother.

28. ఆ తరువాత ఈ సమాచారము దావీదునకు వినబడినప్పుడు అతడు అనుకొనిన దేమనగానేనును నా రాజ్యమును నేరు కుమారుడగు అబ్నేరు ప్రాణము తీయుట విషయములో యెహోవా సన్నిధిని ఎప్పటికిని నిరపరాధులమే.

28. Afterwards, when David heard of it, he said, 'I and my kingdom are forever innocent of the death of Avner the son of Ner.

29. ఈ దోషము యోవాబుమీదను అతని తండ్రికి పుట్టిన వారందరిమీదను మోపబడునుగాక. యోవాబు ఇంటివారిలో స్రావముగలవాడైనను కుష్ఠరోగి యైనను కఱ్ఱపట్టుకొని నడుచువాడైనను ఖడ్గముచేత కూలు వాడైనను ఆహారము లేనివాడైనను ఉండకపోడుగాక అనెను.

29. Let it fall on the head of Yo'av and all his father's family. May Yo'av's family always have someone with a hemorrhage or [tzara'at], or who has to walk with a cane, or who dies by the sword or who lacks food.'

30. ఆలాగున యోవాబును అతని సహోదరుడైన అబీషైయును, అబ్నేరు గిబియోను యుద్ధమందు తమ సహోదరుడైన అశాహేలును చంపిన దానినిబట్టి అతని చంపిరి.

30. Thus Yo'av and Avishai his brother killed Avner, because he had killed their brother 'Asah'el during the battle in Giv'on.

31. దావీదుమీ బట్టలు చింపుకొని గోనెపట్ట కట్టుకొని అబ్నేరు శవమునకు ముందు నడుచుచు ప్రలాపము చేయుడని యోవాబునకును అతనితో నున్న వారికందరికిని ఆజ్ఞ ఇచ్చెను.

31. But David said to Yo'av and all those with him, 'Tear your clothes, put on sackcloth, and mourn over Avner.' King David himself walked behind the body as it was carried.

32. రాజును స్వయముగా పాడెవెంట నడిచెను. వారు అబ్నేరును హెబ్రోనులో పాతిపెట్టగా రాజు అబ్నేరు సమాధిదగ్గర ఎలుగెత్తి యేడ్చెను, జనులంద రును ఏడ్చిరి.

32. They buried Avner at Hevron; the king wept aloud at Avner's grave, and all the people wept.

33. మరియు రాజు అబ్నేరునుగూర్చి శోకకీర్తన యొకటి కట్టెను.

33. The king sang this lament over Avner: 'Should Avner have died like a thug?

34. ఎట్లనగా అబ్నేరూ నీచుడొకడు చచ్చునట్లుగా నీవు చావతగునా?నీ చేతులకు కట్లు లేకుండగనునీ కాళ్లకు సంకెళ్లు వేయబడకుండగనుదోషకారి యెదుట ఒకడు పడునట్లు నీవు పడితివే రాజు ఈలాగున కీర్తన యెత్తి పాడగా జనులందరు విని మరియెక్కువగా ఏడ్చిరి.

34. Your hands weren't tied, your feet weren't fettered; you fell like one who falls at the hands of criminals.' Then all the people wept over him more than ever.

35. ఇంక వెలుగున్నప్పుడు జనులు దావీదునొద్దకు వచ్చి భోజనము చేయుమని అతనిని బతి మాలగా దావీదు ప్రమాణముచేసిసూర్యుడు అస్తమించక మునుపు ఆహారమేమైనను నేను రుచిచూచినయెడల దేవుడు నాకు గొప్ప అపాయము కలుగజేయునుగాకనెను.

35. All the people came to David and tried to make him eat some bread while it was still daytime; but David swore, 'May God bring terrible curses on me and worse ones yet if I taste bread or anything else until the sun goes down.'

36. జనులందరు ఆ సంగతి గ్రహించినప్పుడు సంతో షించిరి; రాజు చేయునదంతయు జనులందరి దృష్టికి అను కూలమైనట్లు అదియు వారి దృష్టికి అనుకూలమాయెను.

36. All the people took note of this, and it pleased them; whatever the king did pleased all the people.

37. నేరు కుమారుడైన అబ్నేరును చంపుట రాజు ప్రేరేపణ వలన నైనది కాదని ఆ దినమున జనులందరికిని ఇశ్రాయేలు వారికందరికిని తెలియబడెను.

37. So that day, all the people and all Isra'el understood that the king had had no part in the killing of Avner the son of Ner.

38. పిమ్మట రాజు తన సేవకు లను పిలిచి వారితో ఈలాగు సెలవిచ్చెనునేటిదినమున పడిపోయినవాడు ఇశ్రాయేలువారిలో ప్రధానుడనియుపెద్దలలో ఒకడనియు మీకు తెలిసేయున్నది.

38. The king said to his servants, 'You realize that a leader, a great man, has fallen today in Isra'el.

39. పట్టాభిషేకము నొందినవాడనైనను, నేడు నేను బలహీనుడనైతిని. సెరూయా కుమారులైన యీ మనుష్యులు నా కంటె బలముగలవారు, అతడు జరిగించిన దుష్క్రియనుబట్టి యెహోవా కీడుచేసినవానికి ప్రతికీడు చేయునుగాక.

39. Even though I have just been anointed king, I feel weak today; and these men, the sons of Tz'ruyah, are too brutal for me. May ADONAI repay the criminal as his crime deserves!'
