1. బాలుడైన సమూయేలు ఏలీయెదుట యెహోవాకుపరిచర్య చేయుచుండెను. ఆ దినములలో యెహోవా వాక్కు ప్రత్యక్షమగుట అరుదు, ప్రత్యక్షము తరుచుగా తటస్థించుటలేదు.

1. And the youth Samuel is serving Jehovah before Eli, and the word of Jehovah hath been precious in those days -- there is no vision broken forth.

2. ఆ కాలమందు ఏలీ కన్నులు మంద దృష్టి గలవైనందున అతడు చూడలేక తనస్థలమందు పండు కొనియుండగాను

2. And it cometh to pass, at that time, that Eli is lying down in his place, and his eyes have begun to be dim -- he is not able to see.

3. దీపము ఆరిపోకమునుపు సమూయేలు దేవుని మందసమున్న యెహోవా మందిరములో పండు కొనియుండగాను

3. And the lamp of God is not yet extinguished, and Samuel is lying down in the temple of Jehovah, where the ark of God [is],

4. యెహోవా సమూయేలును పిలిచెను. అతడుచిత్తమండి నేనున్నానని చెప్పి

4. and Jehovah calleth unto Samuel, and he saith, 'Here [am] I.'

5. ఏలీదగ్గరకు పోయినీవు నన్ను పిలిచితివి గదా నేను వచ్చినాననెను. అతడునేను పిలువలేదు, పోయి పండుకొమ్మని చెప్పగా అతడు పోయి పండుకొనెను.

5. And he runneth unto Eli, and saith, 'Here [am] I, for thou hast called for me;' and he saith, 'I called not; turn back, lie down;' and he goeth and lieth down.

6. యెహోవా మరల సమూ యేలును పిలువగా సమూయేలు లేచి ఏలీయొద్దకు పోయిచిత్తము నీవు నన్ను పిలిచితివి గనుక వచ్చితిననెను. అయితే అతడు నా కుమారుడా, నేను నిన్ను పిలువలేదు, పోయి పండుకొమ్మనెను.

6. And Jehovah addeth to call again Samuel, and Samuel riseth and goeth unto Eli, and saith, 'Here [am] I, for thou hast called for me;' and he saith, 'I have not called, my son, turn back, lie down.'

7. సమూయేలు అప్పటికి యెహో వాను ఎరుగకుండెను, యెహోవా వాక్కు అతనికి ఇంక ప్రత్యక్షము కాలేదు.

7. And Samuel hath not yet known Jehovah, and the word of Jehovah is not yet revealed unto him.

8. యెహోవా మూడవ మారు సమూయేలును పిలువగా అతడు లేచి ఏలీ దగ్గరకు పోయిచిత్తము నీవు నన్ను పిలిచితివే; యిదిగో వచ్చితిననగా, ఏలీ యెహోవా ఆ బాలుని పిలిచెనని గ్రహించి

8. And Jehovah addeth to call Samuel the third time, and he riseth and goeth unto Eli, and saith, 'Here [am] I, for thou hast called for me;' and Eli understandeth that Jehovah is calling to the youth.

9. నీవు పోయి, పండుకొమ్ము, ఎవరైన నిన్ను పిలిచినయెడలయెహోవా, నీ దాసుడు ఆలకించుచున్నాడు, ఆజ్ఞనిమ్మని చెప్పుమని సమూయేలుతో అనగా సమూయేలు పోయి తన స్థలమందు పండుకొనెను.

9. And Eli saith to Samuel, 'Go, lie down, and it hath been, if He doth call unto thee, that thou hast said, Speak, Jehovah, for Thy servant is hearing;' and Samuel goeth and lieth down in his place.

10. తరువాత యెహోవా ప్రత్యక్షమై నిలిచి ఆ రీతిగాసమూయేలూ సమూ యేలూ, అని పిలువగా సమూయేలునీ దాసుడు ఆల కించుచున్నాడు ఆజ్ఞయిమ్మనెను.

10. And Jehovah cometh, and stationeth Himself, and calleth as time by time, 'Samuel, Samuel;' and Samuel saith, 'Speak, for Thy servant is hearing.'

11. అంతట యెహోవా సమూయేలుతో ఈలాగు సెలవిచ్చెనుఇశ్రాయేలులో నేనొకకార్యము చేయబోవుచున్నాను; దానిని వినువారందరి చెవులు గింగురుమనును.

11. And Jehovah saith unto Samuel, 'Lo, I am doing a thing in Israel, at which the two ears of every one hearing it do tingle.

12. ఆ దినమున ఏలీయొక్క యింటివారినిగురించి నేను చెప్పినదంతయు వారిమీదికి రప్పింతును. దాని చేయ మొదలుపెట్టి దాని ముగింతును.

12. In that day I establish unto Eli all that I have spoken unto his house, beginning and completing;

13. తన కుమారులు తమ్మును తాము శాపగ్రస్తులగా చేసికొను చున్నారని తానెరిగియు వారిని అడ్డగించలేదు గనుక అతని యింటికి నిత్యమైన శిక్ష విధింతునని నేను అతనికి తెలియజేయుచున్నాను.

13. and I have declared to him that I am judging his house -- to the age, for the iniquity which he hath known, for his sons are making themselves vile, and he hath not restrained them,

14. కాబట్టి ఏలీ యింటివారి దోషమునకు బలిచేతనైనను నైవేద్యముచేతనైనను ఎన్నటికిని ప్రాయశ్చిత్తము జేయబడదని నేను ప్రమాణపూర్వకముగా ఆజ్ఞా పించితిని.

14. and therefore I have sworn to the house of Eli: the iniquity of the house of Eli is not atoned for, by sacrifice, and by offering -- unto the age.'

15. తరువాత సమూయేలు ఉదయమగువరకు పండుకొని, లేచి యెహోవా మందిరపు తలుపులను తీసెనుగాని, భయపడి తనకు కలిగిన దర్శన సంగతి ఏలీతో చెప్పక పోయెను.

15. And Samuel lieth till the morning, and openeth the doors of the house of Jehovah, and Samuel is afraid of declaring the vision unto Eli.

16. అయితే ఏలీసమూయేలూ నా కుమారుడా, అని సమూయేలును పిలువగా అతడు చిత్తము నేనిక్కడ ఉన్నాననెను.

16. And Eli calleth Samuel, and saith, 'Samuel, my son;' and he saith, 'Here [am] I.'

17. ఏలీనీతో యెహోవా యేమి సెలవిచ్చెనో మరుగుచేయక దయచేసి నాతో చెప్పుము. ఆయన నీతో సెలవిచ్చిన సంగతులలో ఏదైన నీవు మరుగుచేసినయెడల అంతకంటె అధికమైన కీడు ఆయన నీకు కలుగజేయునుగాకని చెప్పగా

17. And he saith, 'What [is] the word which He hath spoken unto thee? I pray thee, hide it not from me; so doth God do to thee, and so doth He add, if thou hidest from me a word of all the words that He hath spoken unto thee.'

18. సమూయేలు దేనిని మరుగుచేయక సంగతి అంతయు అతనికి తెలియజెప్పెను. ఏలీ వినిసెలవిచ్చినవాడు యెహోవా; తన దృష్ఠికి అనుకూలమైనదానిని ఆయన చేయునుగాక అనెను.

18. And Samuel declareth to him the whole of the words, and hath not hid from him; and he saith, 'It [is] Jehovah; that which is good in His eyes He doth.'

19. సమూయేలు పెద్దవాడు కాగా యెహోవా అతనికి తోడైయున్నందున అతని మాటలలో ఏదియు తప్పిపోలేదు.

19. And Samuel groweth up, and Jehovah hath been with him, and hath not let fall any of his words to the earth;

20. కాబట్టి సమూయేలు యెహోవాకు ప్రవక్తగా స్థిరపడెనని దాను మొదలుకొని బెయేర్షెబా వరకు ఇశ్రాయేలీయులందరు తెలిసికొనిరి

20. and all Israel know, from Dan even unto Beer-Sheba, that Samuel is established for a prophet to Jehovah.

21. మరియు షిలోహులో యెహోవా మరల దర్శనమిచ్చుచుండెను. షిలోహులో యెహోవా తన వాక్కు చేత సమూయేలునకు ప్రత్యక్షమగుచు వచ్చెను. సమూయేలుమాట ఇశ్రా యేలీయులందరిలో వెల్లడియాయెను.

21. And Jehovah addeth to appear in Shiloh, for Jehovah hath been revealed unto Samuel, in Shiloh, by the word of Jehovah.
