1. ఆ దినములలో ఫిలిష్తీయులు ఇశ్రాయేలీయులతో యుద్ధము చేయవలెనని సైన్యములను సమకూర్చి యుద్ధము నకు సిద్ధపడగా, ఆకీషు దావీదును పిలిచినేను దండెత్తగా నీవును నీ జనులును నాతో కూడ యుద్ధమునకు బయలుదేరి రావలెనని పరిష్కారముగా తెలిసికొనుమనగా

1. Nowe at that time the Philistims assembled their bandes and armie to fight with Israel: therfore Achish said to Dauid, Be sure, thou shalt go out with me to the battel, thou, and thy men.

2. దావీదునీ దాసుడనైన నేను చేయబోవు కార్యము ఏదో అది నీవు ఇప్పుడు తెలిసికొందు వనెను. అందుకు ఆకీషుఆలాగైతే నిన్ను ఎప్పటికి నాకు సంరక్షకుడుగా నిర్ణయింతుననెను.

2. And Dauid said to Achish, Surely thou shalt knowe, what thy seruant can doe. And Achish sayde to Dauid, Surely I will make thee keeper of mine head for euer.

3. సమూయేలు మృతిబొందగా ఇశ్రాయేలీయులు అతని గురించి విలాపము చేసి రామా అను అతని పట్టణములో అతని పాతిపెట్టియుండిరి. మరియు సౌలు కర్ణపిశాచము గలవారిని చిల్లంగివారిని దేశములో నుండి వెళ్లగొట్టి యుండెను.

3. (Samuel was then dead, and all Israel had lamented him, and buried him in Ramah his owne citie: and Saul had put away the sorcerers, and the soothsayers out of the land)

4. ఫిలిష్తీయులు దండెత్తి వచ్చి షూనేములో దిగగా, సౌలు ఇశ్రాయేలీయులందరిని సమకూర్చెను; వారు గిల్బోవలో దిగిరి.

4. Then the Philistims assembled themselues, and came, and pitched in Shunem: and Saul assembled all Israel, and they pitched in Gilboa.

5. సౌలు ఫిలిష్తీయుల దండును చూచి మనస్సునందు భయకంపము నొంది

5. And when Saul saw the hoste of the Philistims, he was afraid, and his heart was sore astonied.

6. యెహోవా యొద్ద విచారణచేయగా యెహోవా స్వప్నముద్వారా నైనను ఊరీముద్వారానైనను ప్రవక్తలద్వారానైనను ఏమియు సెలవియ్యకుండెను.

6. Therefore Saul asked counsel of the Lord, and the Lord answered him not, neither by dreames, nor by Vrim, nor yet by Prophets.

7. అప్పుడు సౌలునా కొరకు మీరు కర్ణ పిశాచముగల యొక స్త్రీని కనుగొనుడి; నేను పోయి దానిచేత విచారణ చేతునని తన సేవకులకు ఆజ్ఞ ఇయ్యగా వారుచిత్తము, ఏన్దోరులో కర్ణపిశాచము గల యొకతె యున్నదని అతనితో చెప్పిరి.

7. Then saide Saul vnto his seruants, Seeke me a woman that hath a familiar spirite, that I may goe to her, and aske of her. And his seruants said to him, Beholde, there is a woman at En-dor that hath a familiar spirit.

8. కాబట్టి సౌలు మారు వేషము ధరించి వేరు బట్టలు తొడుగుకొని యిద్దరు మనుష్యులను వెంటబెట్టుకొని పోయి రాత్రివేళ ఆ స్త్రీయొద్దకు వచ్చికర్ణపిశాచముద్వారా నాకు శకునము చెప్పి నాతో మాటలాడుటకై నేను నీతో చెప్పువాని రప్పించుమని కోరగా

8. Then Saul changed him selfe, and put on other raiment, and he went, and two men with him, and they came to the woman by night: and he saide, I pray thee, coniecture vnto me by the familiar spirite, and bring me him vp whome I shall name vnto thee.

9. ఆ స్త్రీ ఇదిగో, సౌలు చేయించినది నీకు తెలిసినది కాదా? కర్ణపిశాచము గలవారిని చిల్లంగివారిని అతడు దేశములో ఉండకుండ నిర్మూలముచేసెను గదా. నీవు నా ప్రాణముకొరకు ఉరి యొగ్గి నాకు మరణమేల రప్పింతువు అని అతనితో అనెను.

9. And the woman saide vnto him, Beholde, thou knowest what Saul hath done, how he hath destroyed the sorcerers, and the southsayers out of the land: wherefore then seekest thou to take me in a snare to cause me to die?

10. అందుకు సౌలుయెహోవా జీవముతోడు దీనినిబట్టి నీకు శిక్ష యెంత మాత్రమును రాదని యెహోవా నామమున ప్రమాణము చేయగా

10. And Saul sware to her by the Lord, saying, As the Lord liueth, no harme shall come to thee for this thing.

11. ఆ స్త్రీనీతో మాట లాడుటకై నేనెవని రప్పింపవలెనని యడుగగా అతడుసమూయేలును రప్పింపవలెననెను.

11. Then said the woman, Whom shall I bring vp vnto thee? And he answered, Bring me vp Samuel.

12. ఆ స్త్రీ సమూ యేలును చూచి నప్పుడు బిగ్గరగా కేకవేసినీవు సౌలువే; నీవు నన్నెందుకు మోసపుచ్చితివని సౌలుతో చెప్పగా

12. And when the woman sawe Samuel, she cryed with a loude voyce, and the woman spake to Saul, saying, Why hast thou deceiued me? for thou art Saul.

13. రాజునీవు భయపడవద్దు, నీకు ఏమి కనబడినదని ఆమె నడుగగా ఆమెదేవతలలో ఒకడు భూమిలోనుండి పైకి వచ్చుట నేను చూచుచున్నాననెను.

13. And the King said vnto her, Be not afraid: for what sawest thou? And the woman said vnto Saul, I saw gods ascending vp out of the earth.

14. అందుకతడుఏ రూపముగా ఉన్నాడని దాని నడిగి నందుకు అదిదుప్పటి కప్పుకొనిన ముసలివాడొకడు పైకి వచ్చుచున్నాడనగా సౌలు అతడు సమూయేలు అని తెలిసికొని సాగిలపడి నమస్కారము చేసెను.

14. Then he said vnto her, What facion is hee of? And she answered, An olde man commeth vp lapped in a mantel: and Saul knewe that it was Samuel, and he enclined his face to the grounde, and bowed him selfe.

15. సమూయేలునన్ను పైకిరమ్మని నీ వెందుకు తొందరపెట్టితివని సౌలు నడుగగా సౌలునేను బహు శ్రమలోనున్నాను; ఫిలిష్తీయులు నా మీదికి యుద్ధమునకు రాగా దేవుడు నన్ను ఎడబాసి ప్రవక్తల ద్వారానైనను స్వప్నములద్వారానైనను నా కేమియు సెలవియ్యకయున్నాడు. కాబట్టి నేను చేయవలసిన దానిని నాతో తెలియజెప్పుటకై నిన్ను పిలిపించితిననెను.

15. And Samuel said to Saul, Why hast thou disquieted me, to bring me vp? Then Saul answered, I am in great distresse: for the Philistims make warre against me, and God is departed from me, and answereth me no more, neither by Prophetes, neither by dreames: therefore I haue called thee, that thou mayest tell me, what I shall doe.

16. అందుకు సమూయేలుయెహోవా నిన్ను ఎడ బాసి నీకు పగవాడు కాగా నన్ను అడుగుటవలన ప్రయోజన మేమి?

16. Then said Samuel, Wherefore then doest thou aske of me, seeing the Lord is gone from thee, and is thine enemie?

17. యెహోవా తన మాట తన పక్షముగానే నెర వేర్చుచున్నాడు. నా ద్వారా ఆయన సెలవిచ్చియున్నట్టు నీ చేతినుండి రాజ్యమును తీసివేసి నీ పొరుగువాడైన దావీదునకు దాని నిచ్చియున్నాడు.

17. Euen the Lord hath done to him, as hee spake by mine hande: for the Lord will rent the kingdome out of thine hande, and giue it thy neighbour Dauid.

18. యెహోవా ఆజ్ఞకు నీవు లోబడక, అమాలేకీయుల విషయములో ఆయన తీక్షణమైన కోపము నెరవేర్చక పోయిన దానినిబట్టి యెహోవా నీకు ఈవేళ ఈ ప్రకారముగా చేయు చున్నాడు.

18. Because thou obeyedst not the voyce of the Lord, nor executedst his fierce wrath vpon the Amalekites, therefore hath the Lord done this vnto thee this day.

19. యెహోవా నిన్నును ఇశ్రాయేలీయులను ఫిలిష్తీయుల చేతికి అప్పగించును; యెహోవా ఇశ్రాయేలీ యుల దండును ఫిలిష్తీయుల చేతికి అప్పగించును; రేపు నీవును నీ కుమారులును నాతోకూడ ఉందురు అని సౌలుతో చెప్పగా

19. Moreouer the Lord wil deliuer Israel with thee into the handes of the Philistims: and to morowe shalt thou and thy sonnes be with me, and the Lord shall giue the hoste of Israel into the handes of the Philistims.

20. సమూయేలు మాటలకు సౌలు బహు భయమొంది వెంటనే నేలను సాష్టాంగపడి దివా రాత్రము భోజన మేమియు చేయక యుండినందున బలహీనుడాయెను.

20. Then Saul fell streight way all along on the earth, and was sore afraide because of the wordes of Samuel, so that there was no strength in him: for he had eaten no bread all the day nor all the night.

21. అప్పుడు ఆ స్త్రీ సౌలు దగ్గరకువచ్చి, అతడు బహుగా కలవరపడుట చూచినా యేలిన వాడా, నీ దాసినైన నేను నీ ఆజ్ఞకు లోబడి నా ప్రాణము నా చేతిలో పెట్టుకొని నీవు నాతో సెలవిచ్చిన మాటలను విని అట్లు చేసితిని.

21. Then the woman came vnto Saul, and sawe that he was sore troubled, and said vnto him, See, thine handmaide hath obeyed thy voyce, and I haue put my soule in mine hande, and haue obeyed thy wordes which thou saydest vnto me.

22. ఇప్పుడు నీ దాసినైన నేను చెప్పు మాటలను ఆలకించుము, నేను నీకు ఇంత ఆహారము వడ్డించుదును, నీవు భోజనము చేసి ప్రయాణమై పోవుటకు బలము తెచ్చుకొనుమని అతనితో చెప్పగా

22. Now therefore, I pray thee, hearke thou also vnto ye voyce of thine handmaid, and let me set a morsell of bread before thee, that thou mayest eat and get thee strength, and go on thy iourney.

23. అతడు ఒప్పక భోజనము చేయననెను; అయితే అతని సేవకులు ఆ స్త్రీతో ఏకమై యతని బలవంతము చేయగా అతడు వారు చెప్పిన మాట ఆలకించి నేలనుండి లేచి మంచముమీద కూర్చుండెను.

23. But he refused, and said, I will not eate: but his seruants and the woman together compelled him, and he obeyed their voyce: so he arose from the earth, and sate on the bed.

24. తన యింటిలో క్రొవ్విన పెయ్య ఒకటి యుండగా ఆ స్త్రీదాని తీసికొని త్వరగా వధించి పిండి తెచ్చి పిసికి పులుసులేని రొట్టెలు కాల్చి

24. Nowe the woman had a fat calfe in the house, and she hasted, and killed it, and tooke floure and kneaded it, and baked of it vnleauened bread.

25. తీసికొని వచ్చి సౌలునకును అతని సేవకులకును వడ్డించగా వారు భోజనము చేసి లేచి ఆ రాత్రి వెళ్లిపోయిరి.

25. Then she brought them before Saul, and before his seruants: and when they had eaten, they stoode, and went away the same night.
