1. అప్పుడు సమూయేలు తైలపు బుడ్డి పట్టుకొని సౌలు తలమీద తైలముపోసి అతని ముద్దు పెట్టుకొనియెహోవా నిన్ను అభిషేకించి తన స్వాస్థ్యముమీద అధిపతిగా నియమించియున్నాడు అని చెప్పి యీలాగు సెలవిచ్చెను

1. Then Samuel tooke a viole of oyle and powred it vpon his head, and kissed him, and saide, Hath not the Lord anointed thee to be gouernour ouer his inheritance?

2. ఈ దినమున నీవు నా యొద్దనుండి పోయిన తరువాత బెన్యామీను సరిహద్దులో సెల్సహులోనుండు రాహేలు సమాధిదగ్గర ఇద్దరు మనుష్యులు నీకు కనబడు దురు. వారునీవు వెదకబోయిన గార్దభములు దొరికినవి, నీ తండ్రి తన గార్దభములకొరకు చింతింపక నా కుమా రుని కనుగొనుటకై నేనేమి చేతునని నీకొరకు విచారపడు చున్నాడని చెప్పుదురు.

2. When thou shalt depart from me this day, thou shalt finde two men by Rahels sepulchre in the border of Beniamin, euen at Zelzah, and they will say vnto thee, The asses which thou wentest to seeke, are founde: and lo, thy father hath left the care of the asses, and soroweth for you, saying, What shall I doe for my sonne?

3. తరువాత నీవు అక్కడనుండి వెళ్లి తాబోరు మైదానమునకు రాగానే అక్కడ బేతేలునకు దేవునియొద్దకు పోవు ముగ్గురు మనుష్యులు నీకు ఎదురుపడుదురు; ఒకడు మూడు మేకపిల్లలను, ఒకడు మూడు రొట్టెలను, ఇంకొకడు ద్రాక్షారసపు తిత్తిని మోయుచు వత్తురు.

3. Then shalt thou go forth from thence and shalt come to the plaine of Tabor, and there shall meete thee three men going vp to God to Bethel: one carying three kiddes, and an other carying three loaues of bread, and another carying a bottle of wine:

4. వారు నిన్ను కుశలప్రశ్నలడిగి నీకు రెండు రొట్టెలు ఇత్తురు. అవి వారిచేత నీవు తీసి కొనవలెను.

4. And they will aske thee if all be well, and will giue thee the two loaues of bread, which thou shalt receiue of their handes.

5. ఈలాగున పోవుచు ఫిలిష్తీయుల దండు కాపువారుండు దేవుని కొండకు చేరుదువు, అచ్చట ఊరిదగ్గరకు నీవు రాగానే, స్వరమండలము తంబుర సన్నాయి సితారా వాయించువారి వెనుక ఉన్నతమైన స్థలమునుండి దిగివచ్చు ప్రవక్తల సమూహము నీకు కనబడును, వారు ప్రకటనచేయుచు వత్తురు;

5. After that shalt thou come to the hill of God, where is the garisons of the Philistims: and when thou art come thither to the citie, thou shalt meete a companie of Prophets comming downe from the hie place with a viole, and a tymbrell, and a pipe, and an harpe before them, and they shall prophecie.

6. యెహోవా ఆత్మ నీమీదికి బలముగా దిగివచ్చును; నీవు వారితో కలిసి ప్రకటన చేయుచుండగా నీకు క్రొత్త మనస్సువచ్చును.

6. Then the Spirit of the Lord will come vpon thee, and thou shalt prophecie with them, and shalt be turned into another man.

7. దెవుడు తోడుగా నుండును గనుక ఈ సూచనలు నీకు సంభవించిన తరువాత నీకు మంచిదని తోచినదాని చేయుము.

7. Therefore when these signes shall come vnto to thee, doe as occasion shall serue: for God is with thee.

8. నాకంటె ముందు నీవు గిల్గాలునకు వెళ్లగా, దహనబలులను బలులను సమాధాన బలులను అర్పించుటకై నేను నీయొద్దకు దిగి వత్తును; నేను నీయొద్దకు వచ్చి నీవు చేయవలసినదానిని నీకు తెలియజేయువరకు ఏడు దినముల పాటు నీవు అచ్చట నిలువవలెను.

8. And thou shalt goe downe before me to Gilgal: and I also will come downe vnto thee to offer burnt offerings, and to sacrifice sacrifices of peace. Tary for me seuen dayes, till I come to thee and shewe thee what thou shalt doe.

9. అతడు సమూ యేలునొద్దనుండి వెళ్లిపోవుటకై తిరుగగా దేవుడు అతనికి క్రొత్త మనస్సు అనుగ్రహించెను. ఆ దినముననే ఆ సూచనలు కనబడెను.

9. And when he had turned his backe to goe from Samuel, God gaue him another heart: and all those tokens came to passe that same day.

10. వారు ఆ కొండదగ్గరకు వచ్చినప్పుడు ప్రవక్తల సమూ హము అతనికి ఎదురుపడగా దేవుని ఆత్మ బలముగా అతని మీదికి వచ్చెను. అతడు వారి మధ్యను ఉండి ప్రకటన చేయుచుండెను.

10. And when they came thither to the hill, beholde, the companie of Prophets meete him, and the Spirit of God came vpon him, and he prophecied among them.

11. పూర్వము అతని నెరిగినవారందరు అతడు ప్రవక్తలతో కూడనుండి ప్రకటించుట చూచికీషు కుమారునికి సంభవించిన దేమిటి? సౌలును ప్రవక్తలలో నున్నాడా? అని ఒకనితో ఒకడు చెప్పుకొనగా

11. Therefore all the people that knewe him before, when they saw that he prophecied among the Prophets, saide eche to other, What is come vnto the sonne of Kish? is Saul also among the Prophets?

12. ఆ స్థల మందుండు ఒకడువారి తండ్రి యెవడని యడిగెను. అందుకు సౌలును ప్రవక్తలలో నున్నాడా? అను సామెత పుట్టెను.

12. And one of the same place answered, and said, But who is their father? Therefore it was a prouerbe, Is Saul also among the Prophets?

13. అంతట అతడు ప్రకటించుట చాలించి ఉన్నత స్థలమునకు వచ్చెను.

13. And when he had made an ende of prophecying, he came to the hie place.

14. సౌలుయొక్క పినతండ్రి అతనిని అతని పనివానిని చూచిమీరిద్దరు ఎక్కడికి పోతిరని అడుగగా అతడు గార్దభములను వెదకబోతివిు; అవి కనబడక పోగా సమూయేలునొద్దకు పోతిమని చెప్పినప్పుడు

14. And Sauls vncle saide vnto him, and to his seruant, Whither went ye? And he saide, To seeke the asses: and when we sawe that they were no where, we came to Samuel.

15. సౌలు పిన తండ్రిసమూయేలు నీతో చెప్పిన సంగతి నాతో చెప్పుమని అతనితో అనగా

15. And Sauls vncle saide, Tell me, I pray thee, what Samuel said vnto you.

16. సౌలుగార్దభములు దొరికినవని అతడు చెప్పెనని తన పినతండ్రితో అనెను గాని రాజ్య మునుగూర్చి సమూయేలు చెప్పిన మాటను తెలుపలేదు.

16. Then Saul saide to his vncle, He tolde vs plainely that the asses were founde: but concerning the kingdome whereof Samuel spake, tolde he him not.

17. తరువాత సమూయేలు మిస్పాకు యెహోవా యొద్దకు జనులను పిలువనంపించి ఇశ్రాయేలీయులతో ఇట్లనెను

17. And Samuel assembled the people vnto the Lord in Mizpeh,

18. ఇశ్రాయేలీయుల దేవుడైన యెహోవా ఈలాగున సెల విచ్చుచున్నాడునేను ఇశ్రాయేలీయులైన మిమ్మును ఐగుపు ్త దేశములోనుండి రప్పించి ఐగుప్తీయుల వశములో నుండియు, మిమ్మును బాధపెట్టిన జనములన్నిటి వశములో నుండియు విడిపించితిని.

18. And he saide vnto the children of Israel, Thus saith ye Lord God of Israel, I haue brought Israel out of Egypt, and deliuered you out of the hand of the Egyptians, and out of the handes of all kingdomes that troubled you.

19. అయినను మీ దుర్దశలన్నిటిని ఉపద్రవము లన్నిటిని పోగొట్టి మిమ్మును రక్షించిన మీ దేవుని మీరు ఇప్పుడు విసర్జించిమామీద ఒకని రాజుగా నియమింపుమని ఆయనను అడిగియున్నారు. కాబట్టి యిప్పుడు మీ గోత్రముల చొప్పునను మీ కుటుంబముల చొప్పునను మీరు యెహోవా సన్నిధిని హాజరు కావలెను.

19. But ye haue this day cast away your God, who onely deliuereth you out of all your aduersities and tribulations: and ye said vnto him, No, but appoint a King ouer vs. Nowe therefore stand ye before the Lord according to your tribes, and according to your thousands.

20. ఇశ్రాయేలీయుల గోత్రములన్నిటిని సమూయేలు సమకూర్చగా బెన్యామీను గోత్రము ఏర్పడెను.

20. And when Samuel had gathered together all the tribes of Israel, the tribe of Beniamin was taken.

21. బెన్యామీను గోత్రమును వారి యింటి కూటముల ప్రకారము అతడు సమకూర్చగా మథ్రీ యింటి కూటము ఏర్పడెను. తరువాత కీషు కుమారుడైన సౌలు ఏర్పడెను. అయితే జనులు అతని వెదకినప్పుడు అతడు కనబడలేదు.

21. Afterwarde he assembled the tribe of Beniamin according to their families, and the familie of Matri was taken. So Saul the sonne of Kish was taken, and when they sought him, he coulde not be found.

22. కావున వారుఇక్కడికి ఇంకొక మనుష్యుడు రావలసి యున్నదా అని యెహోవాయొద్ద విచారణచేయగా యెహోవాఇదిగో అతడు సామానులో దాగియున్నాడని సెలవిచ్చెను.

22. Therefore they asked the Lord againe, if that man should yet come thither. And the Lord answered, Beholde, he hath hid himselfe among the stuffe.

23. వారు పరుగెత్తిపోయి అక్కడనుండి అతని తోడుకొనివచ్చిరి; అతడు జనసమూహములో నిలిచి నప్పుడు భుజములు మొదలుకొని పైకి ఇతరులకంటె ఎత్తుగలవాడుగా కనబడెను.

23. And they ranne, and brought him thence: and when he stoode among the people, he was hier then any of the people from the shoulders vpwarde.

24. అప్పుడు సమూయేలుజనులందరిలో యెహోవా ఏర్పరచినవానిని మీరు చూచి తిరా? జనులందరిలో అతనివంటివాడొకడును లేడని చెప్పగా, జనులందరు బొబ్బలు పెట్టుచురాజు చిరంజీవి యగుగాక అని కేకలువేసిరి.

24. And Samuel saide to all the people, See ye not him, whom the Lord hath chosen, that there is none like him among all the people? and all the people shouted and saide, God saue the King.

25. తరువాత సమూయేలు రాజ్యపాలనపద్ధతిని జనులకు వినిపించి, ఒక గ్రంథమందు వ్రాసి యెహోవా సన్నిధిని దాని నుంచెను. అంతట సమూయేలు జనులందరిని వారి వారి ఇండ్లకు పంపివేసెను.

25. Then Samuel tolde the people the duetie of the kingdome, and wrote it in a booke, and laied it vp before the Lord, and Samuel sent all the people away euery man to his house.

26. సౌలును గిబియాలోని తన ఇంటికి వెళ్లిపోయెను. దేవునిచేత హృదయ ప్రేరేపణ నొందిన శూరులు అతని వెంట వెళ్లిరి.

26. Saul also went home to Gibeah, and there followed him a bande of men, whose heart God had touched,

27. పనికిమాలినవారు కొందరుఈ మనుష్యుడు మనలను ఏలాగు రక్షింపగలడని చెప్పుకొనుచు అతని నిర్లక్ష్యము చేసి అతనికి కానుకలు తీసికొని రాకుండగా అతడు చెవిటివాడైనట్టు ఊర కుండెను.

27. But the wicked men saide, Howe shall hee saue vs? So they despised him, and brought him no presents: but he held his tongue.
