1. ఇశ్రాయేలీయులు తమలో ఎవడును తన కుమార్తెను బెన్యామీనీయుని కియ్యకూడదని మిస్పాలో ప్రమాణము చేసికొనియుండిరి.

1. The men of Isra'el had sworn in Mitzpah that none of them would let his daughter marry a man from Binyamin.

2. ప్రజలు బేతేలుకు వచ్చి దేవుని సన్ని ధిని సాయంకాలమువరకు కూర్చుండి

2. The people came to Beit-El and stayed there before God till evening crying out and weeping.

3. యెహోవా ఇశ్రాయేలీయుల దేవా, నేడు ఇశ్రాయేలీయులలో ఒక గోత్రము లేకపోయెను. ఇది ఇశ్రాయేలీయులకు సంభ వింపనేల అని బహుగా ఏడ్చిరి.

3. They said: 'ADONAI, why has this come about in Isra'el? Why should there be today in Isra'el one tribe missing?'

4. మరునాడు జనులు వేకువనే లేచి అక్కడ బలిపీఠమును కట్టి దహనబలులను సమాధానబలులను అర్పించిరి.

4. The next day the people got up early, built an altar and offered burnt offerings and peace offerings.

5. అప్పుడు ఇశ్రాయేలీయులు ఇశ్రాయేలీయుల గోత్రములన్నిటిలో మిస్పాలో యెహోవా పక్షమున రాకపోయినవారెవరని విచారించిరి. ఏలయనగా అట్టివారికి నిశ్చయముగా మరణశిక్ష విధింప వలెనని ఖండితముగా ప్రమాణము చేసియుండిరి.

5. The people of Isra'el asked, 'Who among the tribes of Isra'el did not come up to assemble before ADONAI? For they had made a great oath to put to death whoever didn't come up to ADONAI at Mitzpah.

6. ఇశ్రాయేలీయులు తమ సహోదరులైన బెన్యామీనీయులను గూర్చి పశ్చాత్తాపపడినేడు ఒక గోత్రము ఇశ్రా యేలీయులలో నుండకుండ కొట్టివేయబడియున్నది;

6. The people of Isra'el became sorry for Binyamin their brother and said, 'Today one tribe has been cut off from Isra'el.

7. మిగిలియున్నవారికి భార్యలు దొరుకునట్లు మనము మన కుమార్తెలను వారికి పెండ్లి చేయమని యెహోవా తోడని ప్రమాణము చేసితివిుగదా; వారి విషయములో ఏమి చేయ గలము? అని చెప్పుకొనిరి.

7. How are we going to obtain wives for those who remain alive, since we've sworn by ADONAI that we won't let our daughters marry them?'

8. మరియు వారు ఇశ్రాయేలీ యుల గోత్రములలో యెహోవా పక్షమున మిస్పాకు రానిది ఏదని విచా రింపగా

8. Then they asked who from the tribes of Isra'el had not come up to ADONAI at Mitzpah and found that none had come from Yavesh-Gil'ad to the camp where the assembly was;

9. సమాజమునకుచేరిన యాబేష్గి లాదునుండి సేనలోనికి ఎవడును రాలేదని తేలెను. జన సంఖ్య చేసినప్పుడు యాబేష్గిలాదు నివాసులలో ఒకడును అక్కడ ఉండలేదు.

9. since when the people were counted, none of the inhabitants of Yavesh-Gil'ad were found there.

10. కాబట్టి సమాజపు వారు పరా క్రమవంతులైన పండ్రెండు వేలమంది మనుష్యులను పంపించి మీరు పోయి స్త్రీల నేమి పిల్లల నేమి యాబేష్గిలాదు నివాసులనందరిని కత్తివాతను హతము చేయుడి.

10. So the gathering sent 12,000 warriors there and ordered them, 'Go, and put the people who live in Yavesh-Gil'ad to death with the sword, including women and children.

11. మీరు చేయవలసినదేమనగా, ప్రతి పురుషుని పురుషసంయోగము నెరిగిన ప్రతి స్త్రీని నశింపజేయవలెనని చెప్పిరి.

11. Completely destroy every man and every woman who has had sex with a man.'

12. యాబేష్గి లాదు నివాసులలో పురుషసంయోగము నెరుగని నాలుగు వందలమంది కన్యలైన స్త్రీలు దొరుకగా కనాను దేశ మందలి షిలోహులోనున్న సేనలోనికి వారిని తీసికొనివచ్చిరి.

12. Among the inhabitants of Yavesh-Gil'ad they found 400 young virgins who had not known a man by lying with him, and they brought them to the camp at Shiloh, which is in the land of Kena'an.

13. ఆ సర్వసమాజము రిమ్మోను కొండలోనున్న బెన్యా మీనీయులతో మాటలాడుటకును వారిని సమాధానపరచు టకును వర్తమానము పంపగా

13. Then the whole gathering sent a message proclaiming peace to the people of Binyamin who were at the Rock of Rimmon.

14. ఆ వేళను బెన్యా మీనీ యులు తిరిగి వచ్చిరి. అప్పుడు వారు తాము యాబేష్గి లాదు స్త్రీలలో బ్రదుకనిచ్చినవారిని వారికిచ్చి పెండ్లి చేసిరి. ఆ స్త్రీలు వారికి చాలక పోగా

14. So Binyamin returned at that time, and the people of Isra'el gave them the women they had kept alive of the women from Yavesh-Gil'ad. But those weren't enough for them.

15. యెహోవా ఇశ్రాయేలీయుల గోత్రములలో లోపము కలుగజేసి యుండుట జనులు చూచి బెన్యామీనీయులనుగూర్చి పశ్చాత్తాపపడిరి.

15. The people were still sorry for Binyamin because ADONAI had made a division among the tribes of Isra'el.

16. సమాజప్రధానులు బెన్యామీను గోత్రములో స్త్రీలు నశించియుండుట చూచి మిగిలినవారికి భార్యలు దొరుకు నట్లు మనమేమి చేయుదమని యోచించుకొని

16. The leaders of the assembly asked, 'What are we to do for those who still don't have wives, inasmuch as all the women of Binyamin have been killed?'

17. ఇశ్రా యేలీయులలోనుండి ఒక గోత్రము తుడిచివేయ బడకుండు నట్లు బెన్యామీనీయులలో తప్పించుకొనిన వారికి స్వాస్థ్య ముండవలెననిరి.

17. They said, 'There has to be a way to help the survivors preserve Binyamin's inheritance, so that a tribe will not be eliminated from Isra'el.

18. ఇశ్రాయేలీయులలో ఎవడైనను తన కుమార్తెను బెన్యామీనీయునికి ఇచ్చిన యెడల వాడు నిర్మూలము చేయబడునని ప్రమాణము చేసియున్నాము గనుక మనము మన కుమార్తెలను వారికి పెండ్లి చేయకూడ దని చెప్పుకొనుచుండిరి.

18. Yet we can't give them our daughters as wives.' For the people of Isra'el had sworn, 'Cursed be whoever gives a wife to Binyamin.'

19. కాగా వారు బెన్యామీనీయు లతో ఇట్లనిరిఇదిగో బేతేలుకు ఉత్తరదిక్కున బేతేలు నుండి షెకెమునకు పోవు రాజమార్గమునకు తూర్పుననున్న లెబోనాకు దక్షిణ దిక్కున యెహోవాకు పండుగ ఏటేట షిలోహులో జరుగునని చెప్పి బెన్యామీనీయులను చూచి

19. Then they said, 'Look, each year there's a festival in honor of ADONAI in Shiloh, north of Beit-El, on the east side of the road that goes up from Beit-El to Sh'khem, and south of Levonah.'

20. మీరు వెళ్లి ద్రాక్షతోటలలో మాటుననుండి షిలోహు స్త్రీలు నాట్యమాడువారితో కలిసి నాట్యమాడుటకు బయలు దేరగా

20. They ordered the men of Binyamin, 'Go, hide in the vineyards,

21. ద్రాక్షతోటలలోనుండి బయలు దేరివచ్చి పెండ్లి చేసికొనుటకు ప్రతివాడును షిలోహు స్త్రీలలో ఒకదాని పట్టుకొని బెన్యామీనీయుల దేశమునకు పారిపోవుడి.

21. and keep watch. If the girls of Shiloh come out to do their dances, then come out of the vineyards, and each of you catch for himself a wife from the Shiloh girls, and go on to the land of Binyamin.

22. తరువాత వారి తండ్రులైనను సహో దరులైనను వాదించుటకు మీయొద్దకు వచ్చినయెడల మేము ఆ యుద్ధమును బట్టి వారిలో ప్రతివానికిని పెండ్లికి స్త్రీ దొరకలేదు గనుక ఈ స్త్రీలను దయచేసి మాకియ్యుడి, ఈ సమయమున వారికిచ్చినయెడల మీరు అపరాధులగుదురు గనుక మాకిచ్చినట్లుగా ఇయ్యుడని వారితో చెప్పెద మనిరి.

22. When their fathers or brothers come to complain to us, we will say to them, 'Give them as a personal favor to us, because we didn't take wives for each of them in battle. You didn't give them to them; that would have made you guilty of breaking your oath.''

23. కాగా బెన్యామీనీయులు అట్లు చేసి తమ లెక్క చొప్పున నాట్యమాడిన వారిలోనుండి స్త్రీలను పట్టుకొని వారిని తీసికొని పోయి తమ స్వాస్థ్యమునకు వెళ్లి పట్టణములను కట్టి వాటిలో నివసించిరి.

23. So the men of Binyamin did this- they took wives for themselves from the girls who were dancing, as many as they needed. They carried them off, went back to the land of their inheritance, rebuilt the cities and lived in them.

24. అటుపిమ్మట ఇశ్రా యేలీయులలో ప్రతివాడును అక్కడనుండి తమ గోత్ర స్థానములకును కుటుంబములకును పోయెను. అందరును అక్కడనుండి బయలుదేరి తమ స్వాస్థ్యములకు పోయిరి.

24. The people of Isra'el then left that place, each man returned to his tribe and family, and each man went out from there to the land he had inherited.

25. ఆ దినములలో ఇశ్రాయేలీయులకు రాజు లేడు; ప్రతి వాడును తన తన ఇష్టానుసారముగా ప్రవర్తించుచువచ్చెను.

25. At that time there was no king in Isra'el; a man simply did whatever he thought was right.
