1. ఎఫ్రాయిమీయులు కూడుకొని ఉత్తరదిక్కునకు పోయినీవు అమ్మోనీయులతో యుద్ధము చేయ బోయి నప్పుడు నీతో వచ్చుటకు మమ్ము నేల పిలువ లేదు? నీవు కాపురమున్న నీ యింటిని అగ్నితో కాల్చివేయుదుమని యెఫ్తాతో చెప్పగా

1. The men of Efrayim assembled, crossed into Tzafon and said to Yiftach, 'Why didn't you call us to go with you when you went over to fight the people of 'Amon? We're ready to burn down your house with you in it!'

2. యెఫ్తానాకును నా జనులకును అమ్మోనీయులతో గొప్ప కలహము కలిగిన ప్పుడు నేను మిమ్మును పిలిచితిని గాని మీరు వారి చేతులలోనుండి నన్ను రక్షింపలేదు. మీరు నన్ను రక్షింపకపోవుట నేను చూచి

2. Yiftach answered, 'When my people and I were in a serious dispute with the people of 'Amon, I called you; and you didn't rescue me from their power.

3. నా ప్రాణమును అరచేతిలో ఉంచుకొని అమ్మోనీయు లతో యుద్ధము చేయపోతిని. అప్పుడు యెహోవా వారిని నా చేతి కప్పగించెను గనుక నాతో పోట్లాడుటకు మీరేల నేడు వచ్చితిరనెను.

3. When I saw that you weren't rescuing me, I put my life in my own hands and went over to attack the people of 'Amon; and ADONAI gave them over into my power. So why have you come up today to fight me?'

4. అప్పుడు యెఫ్తా గిలాదువారి నందరిని పోగుచేసికొని ఎఫ్రాయిమీయులతో యుద్ధము చేయగా గిలాదువారు ఎఫ్రాయిమీయులను జయించిరి. ఏలయనగా వారుఎఫ్రాయిమీయులకును మనష్షీ యులకును మధ్యను గిలాదువారైన మీరు ఎఫ్రాయిమీ యులయెదుట నిలువక పారిపోయిన వారనిరి.

4. Then Yiftach gathered together all the men of Gil'ad and fought with Efrayim, and the men of Gil'ad defeated Efrayim; because they were saying, 'You Gil'ad men who live in Efrayim and M'nasheh have deserted Efrayim!'

5. ఎఫ్రాయి మీయులతో యుద్ధముచేయుటకై గిలాదువారు యొర్దాను దాటు రేవులను పట్టుకొనగా పారిపోయిన ఎఫ్రాయిమీ యులలో ఎవడోనన్ను దాటనియ్యుడని చెప్పినప్పుడు గిలాదువారునీవు ఎఫ్రాయిమీయుడవా అని అతని నడి గిరి.

5. The men of Gil'ad cut off Efrayim from the crossings over the Yarden, and whenever anyone from Efrayim tried to escape and said, 'Let me go across,' the men of Gil'ad would ask him, 'Are you from Efrayim?' and if he said, 'No,'

7. Yiftach judged Isra'el for six years. Then Yiftach from Gil'ad died, and he was buried in one of the cities of Gil'ad.

8. అతని తరువాత బేత్లెహేమువాడైన ఇబ్సాను ఇశ్రా యేలీయులకు అధిపతియాయెను.

8. After him Ibtzan of Beit-Lechem judged Isra'el.

9. అతనికి ముప్పదిమంది కుమారులును ముప్పదిమంది కుమార్తెలును ఉండిరి. అతడు ఆ కుమార్తెలను తన వంశమున చేరనివారికిచ్చి, తన వంశ మునకు చేరని ముప్పది మంది కన్యలను తన కుమారులకు పెండ్లి చేసెను. అతడు ఏడేండ్లు ఇశ్రాయేలీయులకు అధి పతిగా నుండెను.

9. He had thirty sons, and he had thirty daughters whom he sent abroad; he brought thirty women from abroad in to marry his sons. He judged Isra'el for seven years.

10. Then Ibtzan died and was buried at Beit-Lechem.

11. అతని తరువాత జెబూలూనీయుడైన ఏలోను ఇశ్రా యేలీయులకు అధిపతియాయెను; అతడు పదియేండ్లు ఇశ్రా యేలీయులకు అధిపతిగానుండెను.

11. After him Elon from Z'vulun judged Isra'el; he judged Isra'el for ten years.

12. జెబూలూనీయుడైన ఏలోను చనిపోయి జెబూలూను దేశమందలి అయ్యాలో నులో పాతిపెట్టబడెను.

12. Then Elon from Z'vulun died and was buried at Ayalon, in the territory of Z'vulun.

13. అతని తరువాత పిరాతోనీయుడైన హిల్లేలు కుమారు డగు అబ్దోను ఇశ్రాయేలీయులకు అధిపతియాయెను.

13. After him Avdon the son of Hillel from Pir'aton judged Isra'el.

14. అతనికి నలువదిమంది కుమారులును ముప్పదిమంది మనుమ లును ఉండిరి. వారు డెబ్బది గాడిదపిల్లల నెక్కి తిరుగు వారు. అతడు ఎనిమిదేండ్లు ఇశ్రాయేలీయులకు అధిపతిగా నుండెను.

14. He had forty sons and thirty grandsons who rode on seventy young donkeys. He judged Isra'el for eight years.

15. Then Avdon the son of Hillel from Pir'aton died and was buried at Pir'aton in the territory of Efrayim, in the 'Amalek hills.
