1. మరియు నేను దుఃఖముతో మీయొద్దకు తిరిగిరానని నామట్టుకు నేను నిశ్చయించుకొంటిని.

1. But I determined this in myself, not to come again to you in sadness.

2. నేను మిమ్మును దుఃఖపరచునెడల నాచేత దుఃఖపరచబడినవాడు తప్ప మరి ఎవడు నన్ను సంతోషపరచును?

2. For if I make you sad, who then is he who makes me glad except he who is made sad by me?

3. నేను వచ్చి నప్పుడు ఎవరివలన నేను సంతోషము పొందతగినదో, వారివలన నాకు దుఃఖము కలుగకుండవలెనని యీ సంగతి మీకు వ్రాసితిని. మరియు నా సంతోషము మీ అందరి సంతోషమేయని మీ అందరియందు నమ్మకము కలిగి యీలాగు వ్రాసితిని.

3. And I wrote this same thing to you, so that when I came, I would not have sadness from whom I ought to rejoice, having been confident toward you all, because my joy is of all of you.

4. మీకు దుఃఖము కలుగవలెనని కాదు గాని, మీయెడల నాకు కలిగియున్న అత్యధికమైన ప్రేమను మీరు తెలిసికొనవలెనని, నిండు శ్రమతోను మనోవేదనతోను ఎంతో కన్నీరు విడుచుచు మీకు వ్రాసితిని.

4. For out of much stress and dismay of heart, through many tears, I wrote to you, not that ye would be grieved, but that ye might know the love that I have so much more for you.

5. ఎవడైనను దుఃఖము కలుగజేసి యుండినయెడల, నాకు మాత్రము కాదు కొంతమట్టుకు మీకందరికిని దుఃఖము కలుగజేసియున్నాడు. నేను విశేషభారము వానిమీద మోపగోరక యీ మాట చెప్పుచున్నాను.

5. But if any man has caused sadness, he has not caused me sadness, but in part (that I may not bear down) you all.

6. అట్టివానికి మీలో ఎక్కువమందివలన కలిగిన యీ శిక్షయే చాలును

6. Sufficient to such a man is this punishment by the many,

7. గనుక మీరిక వానిని శిక్షింపక క్షమించి ఆదరించుట మంచిది. లేనియెడల ఒకవేళ వాడు అత్యధికమైన దుఃఖములో మునిగిపోవును.

7. so that instead, for you rather to forgive and encourage, lest perhaps such a man would be swallowed up with too much sorrow.

8. కావున వాని యెడల మీ ప్రేమను స్థిరపరచవలెనని మిమ్మును బతిమాలుకొను చున్నాను.

8. Therefore I beseech you to affirm love for him.

9. మీరన్ని విషయములందు విధేయులై యున్నారేమో అని మీ యోగ్యత తెలిసికొనుటకే గదా పూర్వము వ్రాసితిని.

9. For I also wrote for this, so that I might know the proof of you, whether ye are obedient in all things.

10. మీరు దేనిగూర్చియైనను ఎవని క్షమించుచున్నారో నేనును వానిని క్షమించుచున్నాను.

10. But to whom ye forgive anything, I too. For I also, whom I have forgiven (if anything), I have forgiven because of you in the presence of Christ,

11. నేనేమైనను క్షమించియుంటే సాతాను మనలను మోస పరచకుండునట్లు, మీ నిమిత్తము, క్రీస్తు సముఖమునందు క్షమించియున్నాను; సాతాను తంత్రములను మనము ఎరుగనివారము కాము.

11. so that we may not be exploited by Satan. For we are not ignorant of his methods.

12. క్రీస్తు సువార్త ప్రకటించుటకు నేను త్రోయకు వచ్చి నప్పుడు, ప్రభువునందు నాకు మంచి సమయము ప్రాప్తించి యుండగా సహోదరుడైన తీతు నాకు కనబడనందున

12. Now having come to Troas for the good-news of the Christ, and a door having been opened to me in Lord,

13. నా మనస్సులో నెమ్మది లేక వారియొద్ద సెలవు తీసికొని అక్కడనుండి మాసిదోనియకు బయలుదేరితిని.

13. I had no rest in my spirit, my not finding Titus my brother. But having departed from them, I went forth into Macedonia.

14. మా ద్వారా ప్రతి స్థలమందును క్రీస్తును గూర్చిన జ్ఞానముయొక్క సువాసనను కనుపరచుచు ఆయనయందు మమ్మును ఎల్లప్పుడు విజయోత్సవముతో ఊరేగించుచున్న దేవునికి స్తోత్రము.

14. And thanks is to God who always causes us to triumph in the Christ, and who makes manifest the aroma of the knowledge of him in every place, through us.

15. రక్షింపబడువారి పట్లను నశించువారి పట్లను మేము దేవునికి క్రీస్తు సువాసనయై యున్నాము.

15. Because we are a fragrance of Christ to God, in those being saved and in those perishing:

16. నశించువారికి మరణార్థమైన మరణపు వాసనగాను రక్షింప బడువారికి జీవార్థమైన జీవపు వాసనగాను ఉన్నాము.

16. to the one an odor of death for death, and to the other an aroma of life for life. And who is adequate for these things?

17. కావున ఇట్టి సంగతులకు చాలినవాడెవడు? మేము దేవుని వాక్యమును కలిపి చెరిపెడు అనేకులవలె ఉండక, నిష్కాపట్యముగలవారమును దేవునివలన నియమింపబడిన వారమునైయుండి, క్రీస్తునందు దేవునియెదుట బోధించు చున్నాము.

17. For we are not as other men, huckstering the word of God, but as from purity. But we speak in Christ as from God in the sight of God.
