1. కొంచెమవివేకముగా నేను మాటలాడినను మీరు సహింపవలెనని కోరుచున్నాను, నన్నుగూర్చి మీరేలా గైనను సహించుడి.

1. I WISH you would bear with me while I indulge in a little [so-called] foolishness. Do bear with me!

2. దేవాసక్తితో మీ యెడల ఆసక్తి కలిగి యున్నాను; ఎందుకనగా పవిత్రురాలైన కన్యకనుగా ఒక్కడే పురుషునికి, అనగా క్రీస్తుకు సమర్పింపవలెనని, మిమ్మును ప్రధానము చేసితిని గాని,

2. For I am zealous for you with a godly eagerness and a divine jealousy, for I have betrothed you to one Husband, to present you as a chaste virgin to Christ. [Hos. 2:19, 20.]

3. సర్పము తన కుయుక్తిచేత హవ్వను మోసపరచినట్లు మీ మనస్సులును చెరుపబడి, క్రీస్తు ఎడలనున్న సరళతనుండియు పవిత్రత నుండియు ఎట్లయినను తొలగిపోవునేమో అని భయపడు చున్నాను.

3. But [now] I am fearful, lest that even as the serpent beguiled Eve by his cunning, so your minds may be corrupted and seduced from wholehearted and sincere and pure devotion to Christ. [Gen. 3:4.]

4. ఏలయనగా వచ్చినవాడెవడైనను మేము ప్రకటింపని మరియొక యేసును ప్రకటించినను, లేక మీరు పొందని మరియొక ఆత్మను మీరు పొందినను, మీరు అంగీ కరింపని మరియొక సువార్త మీరు అంగీకరించినను, మీరు వానినిగూర్చి సహించుట యుక్తమే.

4. For [you seem readily to endure it] if a man comes and preaches another Jesus than the One we preached, or if you receive a different spirit from the [Spirit] you [once] received or a different gospel from the one you [then] received and welcomed; you tolerate [all that] well enough!

5. నేనైతే మిక్కిలి శ్రేష్ఠులైన యీ అపొస్తలులకంటె లేశమాత్రమును తక్కువవాడను కానని తలంచుకొనుచున్నాను.

5. Yet I consider myself as in no way inferior to these [precious] extra-super [false] apostles.

6. మాటల యందు నేను నేర్పులేనివాడనైనను జ్ఞానమందు నేర్పులేని వాడను కాను. ప్రతి సంగతిలోను అందరి మధ్యను మీ నిమిత్తము మేము ఆ జ్ఞానమును కనుపరచియున్నాము.

6. But even if [I am] unskilled in speaking, yet [I am] not [unskilled] in knowledge [I know what I am talking about]; we have made this evident to you in all things.

7. మిమ్మును హెచ్చింపవలెనని మీకు దేవుని సువార్తను ఉచితముగా ప్రకటించుచు నన్ను నేనే తగ్గించుకొనినందున పాపము చేసితినా?

7. But did I perhaps make a mistake and do you a wrong in debasing and cheapening myself so that you might be exalted and enriched in dignity and honor and happiness by preaching God's Gospel without expense to you?

8. మీకు పరిచర్య చేయుటకై నేనితర సంఘములవలన జీతము పుచ్చుకొని, వారి ధనము దొంగిలినవాడనైతిని.

8. Other churches I have robbed by accepting [more than their share of] support for my ministry [from them in order] to serve you.

9. మరియు నేను మీయొద్దనున్నప్పుడు నాకక్కర కలిగియుండగా నేనెవనిమీదను భారము మోపలేదు; మాసిదోనియనుండి సహోదరులు వచ్చి నా అక్కర తీర్చిరి. ప్రతి విషయములోను నేను మీకు భారముగా ఉండకుండ జాగ్రత్తపడితిని, ఇక ముందుకును జాగ్రత్త పడుదును

9. And when I was with you and ran short financially, I did not burden any [of you], for what I lacked was abundantly made up by the brethren who came from Macedonia. So I kept myself from being burdensome to you in any way, and will continue to keep [myself from being so].

10. క్రీస్తు సత్యము నాయందు ఉండుటవలన అకయ ప్రాంతములయందు నేనీలాగు అతిశయ పడకుండ, నన్ను ఆటంకపరచుటకు ఎవరి తరముకాదు.

10. As the truth of Christ is in me, this my boast [of independence] shall not be debarred (silenced or checked) in the regions of Achaia (most of Greece).

11. ఎందువలన? నేను మిమ్మును ప్రేమింపనందువలననా? దేవునికే తెలియును.

11. And why? Because I do not love you [do not have a preference for you, wish you well, and regard your welfare]? God perceives and knows that I do!

12. అతిశయకారణము వెదకువారు ఏవిషయములో అతిశయించుచున్నారో, ఆ విషయములో వారును మావలెనే యున్నారని కనబడునిమిత్తము వారికి కారణము దొరకకుండ కొట్టివేయుటకు, నేను చేయుచున్న ప్రకారమే యిక ముందుకును చేతును.

12. But what I do, I will continue to do, [for I am determined to maintain this independence] in order to cut off the claim of those who would like [to find an occasion and incentive] to claim that in their boasted [mission] they work on the same terms that we do.

13. ఏలయనగా అట్టి వారు క్రీస్తుయొక్క అపొస్తలుల వేషము ధరించుకొనువారై యుండి, దొంగ అపొస్తలులును మోసగాండ్రగు పనివారునై యున్నారు.

13. For such men are false apostles [spurious, counterfeits], deceitful workmen, masquerading as apostles (special messengers) of Christ (the Messiah).

14. ఇది ఆశ్చర్యము కాదు; సాతాను తానే వెలుగుదూత వేషము ధరించుకొనుచున్నాడు

14. And it is no wonder, for Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light;

15. గనుక వాని పరిచారకులును నీతి పరిచారకుల వేషము ధరించుకొనుట గొప్ప సంగతికాదు. వారి క్రియల చొప్పున వారి కంతము కలుగును.

15. So it is not surprising if his servants also masquerade as ministers of righteousness. [But] their end will correspond with their deeds.

16. నేను అవివేకినని యెవడును తలంచవద్దని మరల చెప్పు చున్నాను. అట్లు తలంచినయెడల నేను కొంచెము అతిశయపడునట్లు నన్ను అవివేకినైనట్టు గానే చేర్చు కొనుడి.

16. I repeat then, let no one think I have lost my wits; but even if you do, then bear with a witless man, so that I too may boast a little.

17. నేను చెప్పుచున్నది ప్రభువు మాట ప్రకారము చెప్పుటలేదు గాని ఇట్లు అతిశయపడుటకు ఆధారము కలిగి అవివేకివలె చెప్పుచున్నాను.

17. What I say by way of this confident boasting, I say not with the Lord's authority [by inspiration] but, as it were, in pure witlessness.

18. అనేకులు శరీర విషయములో అతిశయపడుచున్నారు గనుక నేనును ఆలాగే అతిశయపడుదును.

18. [For] since many boast of worldly things and according to the flesh, I will glory (boast) also.

19. మీరు వివేకులైయుండి సంతోషముతో అవివేకులను సహించుచున్నారు.

19. For you readily and gladly bear with the foolish, since you are so smart and wise yourselves!

20. ఒకడు మిమ్మును దాస్యమునకు లోపరచినను, ఒకడు మిమ్ము మింగివేసినను, ఒకడు మిమ్ము వశపరచుకొనినను, ఒకడు తన్ను గొప్పచేసి కొనినను, ఒకడు ముఖముమీద మిమ్మును కొట్టినను మీరు సహించుచున్నారు.

20. For you endure it if a man assumes control of your souls and makes slaves of you, or devours [your substance, spends your money] and preys upon you, or deceives and takes advantage of you, or is arrogant and puts on airs, or strikes you in the face.

21. మేము బలహీనులమై యున్నట్టు అవమానముగా మాటలాడుచున్నాను. ఏ విషయమందు ఎవడైన ధైర్యము కలిగి యున్నాడో, ఆ విషయమందు నేనుకూడ ధైర్యము కలిగినవాడను; అవివేకముగా మాటలాడుచున్నాను సుమా.

21. To my discredit, I must say, we have shown ourselves too weak [for you to show such tolerance of us and for us to do strong, courageous things like that to you]! But in whatever any person is bold and dares [to boast]--mind you, I am speaking in this foolish (witless) way--I also am bold and dare [to boast].

22. వారు హెబ్రీయులా? నేనును హెబ్రీయుడనే. వారు ఇశ్రాయేలీయులా? నేనును ఇశ్రాయేలీయుడనే. వారు అబ్రాహాము సంతానమా? నేనును అట్టివాడనే.

22. They are Hebrews? So am I! They are Israelites? So am I! They are descendants of Abraham? So am I!

23. వారు క్రీస్తు పరిచారకులా? వెఱ్ఱివానివలె మాటలాడు చున్నాను, నేనును మరి యెక్కువగా క్రీస్తు పరిచారకుడను. మరి విశేషముగా ప్రయాసపడితిని, మరి అనేక పర్యాయములు చెరసాలలో ఉంటిని; అపరిమితముగా దెబ్బలు తింటిని, అనేకమారులు ప్రాణాపాయములలో ఉంటిని.

23. Are they [ministering] servants of Christ (the Messiah)? I am talking like one beside himself, [but] I am more, with far more extensive and abundant labors, with far more imprisonments, [beaten] with countless stripes, and frequently [at the point of] death.

24. యూదులచేత అయిదుమారులు ఒకటి తక్కువ నలువది దెబ్బలు తింటిని;

24. Five times I received from [the hands of] the Jews forty [lashes all] but one; [Deut. 25:3.]

25. ముమ్మారు బెత్తములతో కొట్టబడితిని; ఒకసారి రాళ్లతో కొట్టబడితిని; ముమ్మారు ఓడ పగిలి శ్రమపడితిని; ఒక రాత్రింబగళ్లు సముద్రములో గడిపితిని.

25. Three times I have been beaten with rods; once I was stoned. Three times I have been aboard a ship wrecked at sea; a [whole] night and a day I have spent [adrift] on the deep;

26. అనేక పర్యాయములు ప్రయాణములలోను, నదులవలననైన ఆపదలలోను, దొంగలవలననైన ఆపదలలోను, నా స్వజనులవలననైన ఆపదలలోను, అన్యజనుల వలననైన ఆపదలలోను, పట్టణములో ఆపదలలోను, అరణ్యములో ఆపదలలోను, సముద్రములో ఆపదలలోను, కపట సహోదరులవలని ఆపదలలోను ఉంటిని

26. Many times on journeys, [exposed to] perils from rivers, perils from bandits, perils from [my own] nation, perils from the Gentiles, perils in the city, perils in the desert places, perils in the sea, perils from those posing as believers [but destitute of Christian knowledge and piety];

27. ప్రయాస తోను, కష్టములతోను, తరచుగా జాగరణములతోను, ఆకలి దప్పులతోను, తరచుగా ఉపవాసములతోను, చలి తోను, దిగంబరత్వముతోను ఉంటిని, ఇంకను చెప్ప వలసినవి అనేకములున్నవి.

27. In toil and hardship, watching often [through sleepless nights], in hunger and thirst, frequently driven to fasting by want, in cold and exposure and lack of clothing.

28. ఇవియును గాక సంఘము లన్నిటినిగూర్చిన చింతయు కలదు. ఈ భారము దిన దినమును నాకు కలుగుచున్నది.

28. And besides those things that are without, there is the daily [inescapable pressure] of my care and anxiety for all the churches!

29. ఎవడైనను బలహీను డాయెనా? నేనును బలహీనుడను కానా? ఎవడైనను తొట్రుపడెనా? నాకును మంట కలుగదా?

29. Who is weak, and I do not feel [his] weakness? Who is made to stumble and fall and have his faith hurt, and I am not on fire [with sorrow or indignation]?

30. అతిశయ పడవలసియుంటే నేను నా బలహీనత విషయమైన సంగ తులనుగూర్చియే అతిశయపడుదును.

30. If I must boast, I will boast of the things that [show] my infirmity [of the things by which I am made weak and contemptible in the eyes of my opponents].

31. నేనబద్ధమాడుటలేదని నిరంతరము స్తుతింపబడుచున్న మన ప్రభువగు యేసుయొక్క తండ్రియైన దేవుడు ఎరుగును.

31. The God and Father of the Lord Jesus Christ knows, He Who is blessed and to be praised forevermore, that I do not lie.

32. దమస్కులో అరెత అను రాజుక్రింద ఉన్న అధిపతి నన్ను పట్టగోరి కావలియుంచి దమస్కీయుల పట్టణమును భద్రము చేసెను.

32. In Damascus, the city governor acting under King Aretas guarded the city of Damascus [on purpose] to arrest me,

33. అప్పుడు నేను కిటికీగుండ గోడ మీదనుండి గంపలో దింపబడి అతని చేతిలోనుండి తప్పించుకొనిపోతిని.

33. And I was [actually] let down in a [rope] basket or hamper through a window (a small door) in the wall, and I escaped through his fingers.
