1. మీ ఎదుట నున్నప్పుడు మీలో అణకువగలవాడనైనట్టియు, ఎదుట లేనప్పుడు మీయెడల ధైర్యము గలవాడనైనట్టియు, పౌలను నేనే యేసుక్రీస్తుయొక్క సాత్వికమును మృదుత్వమునుబట్టి మిమ్మును వేడుకొను చున్నాను.

1. Now I Paul myself entreat you by the meekness and gentleness of Christ, who indeed am lowly in presence among you, but am bold toward you when absent.

2. శరీరప్రకారము నడుచుకొనువారమని మమ్మునుగూర్చి కొందరనుకొనుచున్నారు కారా? అట్టి వారియెడల నేను తెగించి కాఠిన్యము చూపవలెనని తలంచుకొనుచున్నాను గాని, నేను వచ్చినప్పుడు అట్లు కాఠిన్యమును చూపకుండునట్లు చేయుడని నేను మిమ్మును బతిమాలుకొనుచున్నాను.

2. But I pray not to be bold when present with the confidence by which I consider to be valiant toward some who consider us as walking according to flesh.

3. మేము శరీరధారులమై నడుచు కొనుచున్నను శరీరప్రకారము యుద్ధముచేయము.

3. For though walking in flesh, we do not war according to flesh.

4. మా యుద్ధోపకరణములు శరీరసంబంధమైనవి కావుగాని, దేవుని యెదుట దుర్గములను పడద్రోయజాలినంత బలముకలవై యున్నవి.

4. For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty in God for the demolition of strongholds,

5. మేము వితర్కములను, దేవునిగూర్చిన జ్ఞానమును అడ్డగించు ప్రతి ఆటంకమును పడద్రోసి, ప్రతి ఆలోచనను క్రీస్తుకు లోబడునట్లు చెరపట్టి

5. casting down imaginations, and every high thing exalted against the knowledge of God, and bringing every thought captive into the obedience of the Christ,

6. మీరు సంపూర్ణ విధేయతను కనుపరచినప్పుడు సమస్తమైన అవిధేయతకు ప్రతిదండనచేయ సిద్ధపడి యున్నాము.

6. and having in readiness to avenge every disobedience, whenever your obedience is fulfilled.

7. సంగతులను పైపైననే మీరు చూచుచున్నారు, ఎవడైనను తాను క్రీస్తువాడనని నమ్ముకొనినయెడల, అతడేలాగు క్రీస్తువాడో ఆలాగే మేమును క్రీస్తువారమని తన మనస్సులో తాను తిరిగి ఆలోచించుకొనవలెను.

7. Do ye look at things according to appearance. If any man has convinced himself to be of Christ, let him consider this again of himself, that, as he is of Christ, so also are we of Christ.

8. పడ ద్రోయుటకు కాక మిమ్మును కట్టుటకే ప్రభువు మాకు అనుగ్రహించిన అధికారమునుగూర్చి నేనొకవేళ కొంచెము అధికముగా అతిశయపడినను నేను సిగ్గుపరచబడను.

8. For even if I also should boast somewhat more abundantly about our authority (which the Lord gave us for building up, and not for tearing you down), I will not be shamed,

9. నేను వ్రాయు పత్రికలవలన మిమ్మును భయపెట్టవలెనని యున్నట్టు కనబడకుండ ఈ మాట చెప్పుచున్నాను.

9. so that I would not seem as if to terrify you by the letters.

10. అతని పత్రికలు ఘనమైనవియు బలీయమైనవియు నైయున్నవి గాని అతడు శరీరరూపమునకు బలహీనుడు, అతని ప్రసంగము కొరగానిదని యొకడు అనును.

10. Because, The letters, he says, are indeed weighty and powerful, but his bodily presence is weak, and his speech is disdained.

11. మేమెదుటలేనప్పుడు పత్రికల ద్వారా మాటలయందెట్టి వారమైయున్నామో, యెదుట ఉన్నప్పుడు క్రియయందు అట్టివారమై యుందుమని అట్లనువాడు తలంచుకొనవలెను.

11. Let such a man think this, that such kind we are in word by letters when absent, we are also such kind when present in the work.

12. తమ్మును తామే మెచ్చుకొను కొందరితో జతపరచుకొనుట కైనను వారితో సరిచూచుకొనుటకైనను మేము తెగింప జాలము గాని, వారు తమలోనే యొకరిని బట్టి యొకరు ఎన్నికచేసికొని యొకరితోనొకరు సరి చూచుకొను చున్నందున, గ్రహింపులేక యున్నారు.

12. For we dare not classify or compare ourselves to some of those who commend themselves. But they, measuring themselves by themselves, and comparing themselves to themselves, do not understand.

13. మేమైతే మేరకు మించి అతిశయపడము గాని మీరున్న స్థలము వరకును రావలెనని దేవుడు మాకు కొలిచి యిచ్చిన మేరకు లోబడియుండి అతిశయించుచున్నాము.

13. But we will not boast in things immeasurable, but according to the measure of the standard that God apportioned to us, of a measure to reach even as far as you.

14. మేము క్రీస్తు సువార్త ప్రకటించుచు, మీవరకును వచ్చియుంటిమి గనుక మీయొద్దకు రానివారమైనట్టు మేము మా మేర దాటి వెళ్లుచున్న వారము కాము.

14. For it is not as not reaching for you. We overextend ourselves. For we even reached as far as you in the good-news of the Christ,

15. మేము మేరకు మించి యితరుల ప్రయాసఫలములలో భాగస్థులమనుకొని అతిశయ పడము. మీ విశ్వాసము అభివృద్ధియైనకొలది మాకనుగ్ర హింపబడిన మేరలకు లోపలనే సువార్త మరి విశేషముగా వ్యాపింపజేయుచు,

15. not boasting in things immeasurable, in other men's labors, but having hope of your faith growing in you to be enlarged according to our measure for abundance,

16. మీ ఆవలి ప్రదేశములలో కూడ సువార్త ప్రకటించునట్లుగా, మేము మీ మూలముగా ఘనపరచబడుదుమని నిరీక్షించుచున్నామే గాని, మరియొకని మేరలో చేరి, సిద్ధమైయున్నవి మావియైనట్టు అతిశయింపగోరము.

16. in order to preach the good-news beyond you, not to boast in another measure, in things prepared.

17. అతిశయించువాడు ప్రభువునందే అతిశయింపవలెను.

17. But he who boasts should boast in Lord.

18. ప్రభువు మెచ్చుకొనువాడే యోగ్యుడు గాని తన్ను తానే మెచ్చుకొనువాడు యోగ్యుడుకాడు.

18. For he who commends himself, that man is not approved, but whom the Lord commends.
