1. మీ ఎదుట నున్నప్పుడు మీలో అణకువగలవాడనైనట్టియు, ఎదుట లేనప్పుడు మీయెడల ధైర్యము గలవాడనైనట్టియు, పౌలను నేనే యేసుక్రీస్తుయొక్క సాత్వికమును మృదుత్వమునుబట్టి మిమ్మును వేడుకొను చున్నాను.

1. I, Paul, am begging you with the gentleness and the kindness of Christ. Some say that I am bold when I am writing you from a distance, but not when I am there with you.

2. శరీరప్రకారము నడుచుకొనువారమని మమ్మునుగూర్చి కొందరనుకొనుచున్నారు కారా? అట్టి వారియెడల నేను తెగించి కాఠిన్యము చూపవలెనని తలంచుకొనుచున్నాను గాని, నేను వచ్చినప్పుడు అట్లు కాఠిన్యమును చూపకుండునట్లు చేయుడని నేను మిమ్మును బతిమాలుకొనుచున్నాను.

2. They think our motives for what we do are like those of the world. I plan to be very bold against those people when I come. I hope I will not need to use that same boldness with you.

3. మేము శరీరధారులమై నడుచు కొనుచున్నను శరీరప్రకారము యుద్ధముచేయము.

3. We live in this world, but we don't fight our battles in the same way the world does.

4. మా యుద్ధోపకరణములు శరీరసంబంధమైనవి కావుగాని, దేవుని యెదుట దుర్గములను పడద్రోయజాలినంత బలముకలవై యున్నవి.

4. The weapons we use are not human ones. Our weapons have power from God and can destroy the enemy's strong places. We destroy people's arguments,

5. మేము వితర్కములను, దేవునిగూర్చిన జ్ఞానమును అడ్డగించు ప్రతి ఆటంకమును పడద్రోసి, ప్రతి ఆలోచనను క్రీస్తుకు లోబడునట్లు చెరపట్టి

5. and we tear down every proud idea that raises itself against the knowledge of God. We also capture every thought and make it give up and obey Christ.

6. మీరు సంపూర్ణ విధేయతను కనుపరచినప్పుడు సమస్తమైన అవిధేయతకు ప్రతిదండనచేయ సిద్ధపడి యున్నాము.

6. We are ready to punish anyone there who does not obey, but first we want you to be fully obedient.

7. సంగతులను పైపైననే మీరు చూచుచున్నారు, ఎవడైనను తాను క్రీస్తువాడనని నమ్ముకొనినయెడల, అతడేలాగు క్రీస్తువాడో ఆలాగే మేమును క్రీస్తువారమని తన మనస్సులో తాను తిరిగి ఆలోచించుకొనవలెను.

7. You must look at the facts before you. If you feel sure you belong to Christ, you must remember that we belong to Christ the same as you do.

8. పడ ద్రోయుటకు కాక మిమ్మును కట్టుటకే ప్రభువు మాకు అనుగ్రహించిన అధికారమునుగూర్చి నేనొకవేళ కొంచెము అధికముగా అతిశయపడినను నేను సిగ్గుపరచబడను.

8. It may seem as though we boast too much about the authority the Lord gave us. But he gave us this authority to strengthen you, not to hurt you. So I will not be ashamed of whatever boasting we do.

9. నేను వ్రాయు పత్రికలవలన మిమ్మును భయపెట్టవలెనని యున్నట్టు కనబడకుండ ఈ మాట చెప్పుచున్నాను.

9. I don't want you to think that I am trying to scare you with my letters.

10. అతని పత్రికలు ఘనమైనవియు బలీయమైనవియు నైయున్నవి గాని అతడు శరీరరూపమునకు బలహీనుడు, అతని ప్రసంగము కొరగానిదని యొకడు అనును.

10. Some people say, 'Paul's letters are powerful and sound important, but when he is with us, he is weak and the worst speaker you have ever heard.'

11. మేమెదుటలేనప్పుడు పత్రికల ద్వారా మాటలయందెట్టి వారమైయున్నామో, యెదుట ఉన్నప్పుడు క్రియయందు అట్టివారమై యుందుమని అట్లనువాడు తలంచుకొనవలెను.

11. Those people should know this: When we are there with you, we will show the same power that we show now in our letters.

12. తమ్మును తామే మెచ్చుకొను కొందరితో జతపరచుకొనుట కైనను వారితో సరిచూచుకొనుటకైనను మేము తెగింప జాలము గాని, వారు తమలోనే యొకరిని బట్టి యొకరు ఎన్నికచేసికొని యొకరితోనొకరు సరి చూచుకొను చున్నందున, గ్రహింపులేక యున్నారు.

12. We don't dare put ourselves in the same class with those who think they are so important. We don't compare ourselves to them. They use themselves to measure themselves, and they judge themselves by what they themselves are. This shows that they know nothing.

13. మేమైతే మేరకు మించి అతిశయపడము గాని మీరున్న స్థలము వరకును రావలెనని దేవుడు మాకు కొలిచి యిచ్చిన మేరకు లోబడియుండి అతిశయించుచున్నాము.

13. But we will not boast about anything outside the work that was given us to do. We will limit our boasting to the work God gave us, but this work includes our work with you.

14. మేము క్రీస్తు సువార్త ప్రకటించుచు, మీవరకును వచ్చియుంటిమి గనుక మీయొద్దకు రానివారమైనట్టు మేము మా మేర దాటి వెళ్లుచున్న వారము కాము.

14. We would be boasting too much only if we had not already come to you. But we have come to you with the Good News of Christ.

15. మేము మేరకు మించి యితరుల ప్రయాసఫలములలో భాగస్థులమనుకొని అతిశయ పడము. మీ విశ్వాసము అభివృద్ధియైనకొలది మాకనుగ్ర హింపబడిన మేరలకు లోపలనే సువార్త మరి విశేషముగా వ్యాపింపజేయుచు,

15. We limit our boasting to the work that is ours. We don't boast about the work other people have done. We hope that your faith will continue to grow. We hope that you will help our work to grow much larger.

16. మీ ఆవలి ప్రదేశములలో కూడ సువార్త ప్రకటించునట్లుగా, మేము మీ మూలముగా ఘనపరచబడుదుమని నిరీక్షించుచున్నామే గాని, మరియొకని మేరలో చేరి, సిద్ధమైయున్నవి మావియైనట్టు అతిశయింపగోరము.

16. We want to tell the Good News in the areas beyond your city. We don't want to boast about work that has already been done in someone else's area.

17. Whoever boasts should boast only about the Lord.'

18. ప్రభువు మెచ్చుకొనువాడే యోగ్యుడు గాని తన్ను తానే మెచ్చుకొనువాడు యోగ్యుడుకాడు.

18. What people say about themselves means nothing. What counts is whether or not the Lord says they have done well.
