1. ప్రేమ కలిగియుండుటకు ప్రయాసపడుడి. ఆత్మ సంబంధమైన వరములను ఆసక్తితో అపేక్షించుడి; విశేషముగా మీరు ప్రవచనవరము అపేక్షించుడి.

1. Love should be the goal of your life, but you should also want to have the gifts that come from the Spirit. And the gift you should want most is to be able to prophesy.

2. ఎందుకనగా భాషతో మాటలాడువాడు మనుష్యులతో కాదు దేవునితో మాటలాడుచున్నాడు; మనుష్యుడెవడును గ్రహింపడుగాని వాడు ఆత్మవలన మర్మములను పలుకు చున్నాడు.

2. I will explain why. Those who have the gift of speaking in a different language are not speaking to people. They are speaking to God. No one understands them�they are speaking secret things through the Spirit.

3. క్షేమాభివృద్ధియు హెచ్చరికయు ఆదరణయు కలుగునట్లు, ప్రవచించువాడు మనుష్యులతో మాట లాడుచున్నాడు.

3. But those who prophesy are speaking to people. They help people grow stronger in faith, and they give encouragement and comfort.

4. భాషతో మాటలాడువాడు తనకే క్షేమాభివృద్ధి కలుగజేసికొనును గాని ప్రవచించువాడు సంఘమునకు క్షేమాభివృద్ధి కలుగజేయును.

4. Those who speak in a different language are helping only themselves. But those who prophesy are helping the whole church.

5. మీరందరు భాషలతో మాటలాడవలెనని కోరుచున్నానుగాని మీరు ప్రవచింపవలెనని మరి విశేషముగా కోరుచున్నాను. సంఘము క్షేమాభివృద్ధి పొందునిమిత్తము భాషలతో మాట లాడువాడు అర్థము చెప్పితేనేగాని వానికంటె ప్రవచించువాడే శ్రేష్ఠుడు.

5. I would like all of you to have the gift of speaking in different languages. But what I want more is for you to prophesy. Anyone who prophesies is more important than those who can only speak in different languages. However, if they can also interpret those languages, they are as important as the one who prophesies. If they can interpret, then the church can be helped by what they say.

6. సహోదరులారా, ఆలోచించుడి; భాషలతో మాటలాడుచు నేను మీయొద్దకు వచ్చి సత్యమును బయలు పరచవలెననియైనను జ్ఞానోపదేశము చేయ వలెనని యైనను ప్రవచింపవలెననియైనను బోధింపవలెనని యైనను మీతో మాటలాడకపోయిన యెడల, నావలన మీకు ప్రయోజనమేమి?

6. Brothers and sisters, will it help you if I come to you speaking in different languages? No, it will help you only if I bring you a new truth or some knowledge, prophecy, or teaching.

7. పిల్లనగ్రోవి గాని వీణ గాని, నిర్జీవ వస్తువులు నాదమిచ్చునప్పుడు, స్వరములలో భేదము కలుగజేయనియెడల, ఊదినదేదో మీటినదేదో యేలాగు తెలియును?

7. This is true even with lifeless things that make sounds�like a flute or a harp. If the different musical notes are not made clear, you can't understand what song is being played. Each note must be played clearly for you to be able to understand the tune.

8. మరియు బూర స్పష్టముకాని ధ్వని ఇచ్చు నప్పుడు యుద్ధమునకెవడు సిద్ధపడును?

8. And in a war, if the trumpet does not sound clearly, the soldiers will not know it is time to prepare for fighting.

9. ఆలాగే మీరు స్పష్టమైన మాటలు నాలుకతో పలికితేనేగాని పలికినది ఏలాగు తెలియును? మీరు గాలితో మాటలాడు చున్నట్టుందురు.

9. It is the same with you. If you don't speak clearly in a language people know, they cannot understand what you are saying. You will be talking to the air!

10. లోకమందు ఎన్నో విధములగు భాషలున్నను వాటిలో ఒకటైనను స్పష్టముకానిదై యుండదు.

10. It is true that there are many different languages in the world, and they all have meaning.

11. మాటల అర్థము నాకు తెలియకుండిన యెడల మాటలాడు వానికి నేను పరదేశినిగా ఉందును, మాటలాడువాడు నాకు పరదేశిగా ఉండును.

11. But if I don't understand the meaning of what someone is saying, it will just be strange sounds to me, and I will sound just as strange to them.

12. మీరు ఆత్మసంబంధమైన వరముల విషయమై ఆసక్తిగలవారు గనుక సంఘమునకు క్షేమాభివృద్ధి కలుగునిమిత్తము అవి మీకు విస్తరించునట్లు ప్రయత్నము చేయుడి.

12. That's why you who want spiritual gifts so much should prefer those gifts that help the church grow stronger.

13. భాషతో మాటలాడువాడు అర్థము చెప్పు శక్తికలుగుటకై ప్రార్థనచేయవలెను.

13. So those who have the gift of speaking in a different language should pray that they can also interpret what they say.

14. నేను భాషతో ప్రార్థన చేసినయెడల నా ఆత్మ ప్రార్థనచేయును గాని నా మనస్సు ఫలవంతముగా ఉండదు.

14. If I pray in a different language, my spirit is praying, but my mind does nothing.

15. కాబట్టి ఆత్మతో ప్రార్థన చేతును, మనస్సుతోను ప్రార్థన చేతును; ఆత్మతో పాడుదును, మనస్సుతోను పాడుదును.

15. So what should I do? I will pray with my spirit, but I will also pray with my mind. I will sing with my spirit, but I will also sing with my mind.

16. లేనియెడల నీవు ఆత్మతో స్తోత్రము చేసినప్పుడు ఉపదేశము పొందనివాడు నీవు చెప్పుదానిని గ్రహింపలేడు గనుక, నీవు కృతజ్ఞతాస్తుతులు చెల్లించినప్పుడు ఆమేన్‌ అని వాడేలాగు పలుకును?

16. You might be praising God with your spirit. But someone there without understanding cannot say 'Amen ' to your prayer of thanks, because they don't know what you are saying.

17. నీవైతే బాగుగానే కృతజ్ఞతాస్తుతులు చెల్లించుచున్నావు గాని యెదుటివాడు క్షేమాభివృద్ధి పొందడు.

17. You may be thanking God in a good way, but others are not helped.

18. నేను మీ యందరికంటె ఎక్కువగా భాషలతో మాటలాడుచున్నాను; అందుకు దేవుని స్తుతించెదను.

18. I thank God that my gift of speaking in different kinds of languages is greater than any of yours.

19. అయినను సంఘములో భాషతో పదివేల మాటలు పలుకుటకంటె, ఇతరులకు బోధకలుగునట్లు నా మనస్సుతో అయిదు మాటలు పలుకుట మేలు.

19. But in the church meetings I would rather speak five words that I understand than thousands of words in a different language. I would rather speak with my understanding, so that I can teach others.

20. సహోదరులారా, మీరు బుద్ధివిషయమై పసిపిల్లలు కాక దుష్టత్వము విషయమై శిశువులుగా ఉండుడి; బుద్ధి విషయమై పెద్దవారలై యుండుడి.

20. Brothers and sisters, don't think like children. In evil things be like babies, but in your thinking you should be like fullgrown adults.

21. అన్య భాషలు మాటలాడు జనులద్వారాను, పరజనుల పెదవులద్వారాను, ఈ జనులతో మాటలాడుదును; అప్పటికైనను వారు నా మాట వినకపోదురు అని ప్రభువు చెప్పుచున్నాడని ధర్మశాస్త్రములో వ్రాయ బడియున్నది.

21. As the Scriptures say, 'Using those who speak a different language and using the lips of foreigners, I will speak to these people. But even then, they will not obey me.' This is what the Lord says.

22. కాబట్టి భాషలు విశ్వాసులకు కాదు అవిశ్వాసులకే సూచకమైయున్నవి. ప్రవచించుట అవిశ్వాసులకు కాదు విశ్వాసులకే సూచకమై యున్నది.

22. And from this we see that the use of different languages shows how God deals with those who don't believe, not with those who believe. And prophecy shows how God works through those who believe, not through unbelievers.

23. సంఘమంతయు ఏకముగా కూడి అందరు భాషలతో మాటలాడుచుండగా, ఉపదేశము పొందనివారైనను అవి శ్వాసులైనను లోపలికి వచ్చినయెడల, మీరు వెఱ్ఱిమాట లాడుచున్నారని అనుకొందురు కదా?

23. Suppose the whole church meets together and you all speak in different languages. If some people come in who are without understanding or don't believe, they will say you are crazy.

24. అయితే అందరు ప్రవచించుచుండగా అవిశ్వాసియైనను ఉపదేశము పొందని వాడైనను లోపలికి వచ్చినయెడల, అందరి బోధవలన తాను పాపినని గ్రహించి, అందరివలన విమర్శింపబడును.

24. But suppose you are all prophesying and someone comes in who does not believe or who is without understanding. Their sin will be shown to them, and they will be judged by everything you say.

25. అప్పుడతని హృదయరహస్యములు బయలుపడును. ఇందు వలన దేవుడు నిజముగా మీలో ఉన్నాడని ప్రచురముచేయుచు అతడు సాగిలపడి దేవునికి నమస్కారము చేయును.

25. The secret things in their heart will be made known. So they will bow down and worship God. They will say, 'Without a doubt, God is here with you.'

26. సహోదరులారా, యిప్పుడు మీలో ఏమి జరుగు చున్నది? మీరు కూడి వచ్చునప్పుడు ఒకడు ఒక కీర్తన పాడవలెనని యున్నాడు; మరియొకడు బోధింపవలెనని యున్నాడు; మరియొకడు తనకు బయలు పరచబడినది ప్రకటనచేయవలెనని యున్నాడు; మరియొకడు భాషతో మాటలాడవలెనని యున్నాడు; మరియొకడు అర్థము చెప్ప వలెనని యున్నాడు. సరే; సమస్తమును క్షేమాభివృద్ధి కలుగుటకై జరుగనియ్యుడి.

26. So, brothers and sisters, what should you do? When you meet together, one person has a song, another has a teaching, and another has a new truth from God. One person speaks in a different language, and another interprets that language. The purpose of whatever you do should be to help everyone grow stronger in faith.

27. భాషతో ఎవడైనను మాటలాడితే, ఇద్దరు అవసరమైన యెడల ముగ్గురికి మించకుండ, వంతులచొప్పున మాటలాడవలెను, ఒకడు అర్థము చెప్ప వలెను.

27. When you meet together, if anyone speaks to the group in a different language, it should be only two or no more than three people who do this. And they should speak one after the other. And someone else should interpret what they say.

28. అర్థము చెప్పువాడు లేనియెడల అతడు సంఘములో మౌనముగా ఉండవలెను గాని, తనతోను దేవునితోను మాటలాడుకొనవచ్చును.

28. But if there is no interpreter, then anyone who speaks in a different language should be quiet in the church meeting. They should speak only to themselves and to God.

29. ప్రవక్తలు ఇద్దరు ముగ్గురు మాటలాడవచ్చును; తక్కినవారు వివేచింపవలెను.

29. And only two or three prophets should speak. The others should judge what they say.

30. అయితే కూర్చున్న మరి యొకనికి ఏదైనను బయలు పరచబడిన యెడల మొదటివాడు మౌనముగా ఉండవలెను.

30. And if a message from God comes to someone who is sitting, the first speaker should be quiet.

31. అందరు నేర్చుకొనునట్లును అందరు హెచ్చరిక పొందునట్లును మీరందరు ఒకని తరువాత ఒకడు ప్రవచింపవచ్చును.

31. You can all prophesy one after the other. This way everyone can be taught and encouraged.

32. మరియు ప్రవక్తల ఆత్మలు ప్రవక్తల స్వాధీనములో ఉన్నవి.

32. The spirits of prophets are under the control of the prophets themselves.

33. ఆలాగే పరిశుద్ధుల సంఘము లన్నిటిలో దేవుడు సమాధానమునకే కర్త గాని అల్లరికి కర్త కాడు.

33. God is not a God of confusion but a God of peace. This is the rule for all the meetings of God's people.

34. స్త్రీలు సంఘములలో మౌనముగా ఉండవలెను; వారు లోబడియుండవలసినదే గాని, మాటలాడుటకు వారికి సెలవు లేదు. ఈలాగు ధర్మశాస్త్రమును చెప్పుచున్నది.

34. The women should keep quiet in these church meetings. They are not allowed to speak out but should be under authority, as the Law of Moses says.

35. వారు ఏమైనను నేర్చుకొనగోరిన యెడల, ఇంట తమ తమ భర్తల నడుగవలెను; సంఘములో స్త్రీ మాటలాడుట అవమానము.

35. If there is something they want to know, they should ask their own husbands at home. It is shameful for a woman to speak up like that in the church meeting.

36. దేవుని వాక్యము మీ యొద్ద నుండియే బయలువెళ్లెనా? మీయొద్దకు మాత్రమే వచ్చెనా?

36. God's teaching did not come from you, and you are not the only ones who have received it.

37. ఎవడైనను తాను ప్రవక్తననియైనను ఆత్మసంబంధినని యైనను తలంచుకొనిన యెడల, నేను మీకు వ్రాయుచున్నవి ప్రభువుయొక్క ఆజ్ఞలని అతడు దృఢముగా తెలిసికొనవలెను.

37. If you think you are a prophet or that you have a spiritual gift, you should understand that what I am writing to you is the Lord's command.

38. ఎవడైనను తెలియని వాడైతే తెలియని వాడుగానే యుండనిమ్ము.

38. If you do not accept this, you will not be accepted.

39. కాబట్టి నా సహోదరులారా, ప్రవచించుట ఆసక్తితో అపేక్షించుడి, భాషలతో మాటలాడుట ఆటంకపరచకుడి గాని,

39. So my brothers and sisters, continue to give your attention to prophesying. And don't stop anyone from using the gift of speaking in different languages.

40. సమస్తమును మర్యాదగాను క్రమముగాను జరుగ నియ్యుడి.

40. But everything should be done in a way that is right and orderly.
