1. సౌలు ఇంకను ప్రభువుయొక్క శిష్యులను బెదరించుటయును హత్యచేయుటయును తనకు ప్రాణాధారమైనట్టు ప్రధానయాజకునియొద్దకు వెళ్లి

1. And Saul, yet breathing out threatenings and slaughter against the disciples of the Lord, came unto the prince of the priests

2. యీ మార్గ మందున్న పురుషులనైనను స్త్రీలనైనను కనుగొనిన యెడల, వారిని బంధించి యెరూషలేము నకు తీసికొని వచ్చుటకు దమస్కులోని సమాజముల వారికి పత్రికలిమ్మని అడిగెను.

2. and asked him for letters to Damascus to the synagogues, that if he found any of this way, whether they were men or women, he might bring them bound unto Jerusalem.

3. అతడు ప్రయాణము చేయుచు దమస్కు దగ్గరకు వచ్చినప్పుడు, అకస్మాత్తుగా ఆకాశమునుండి యొక వెలుగు అతనిచుట్టు ప్రకాశించెను.

3. And as he proceeded, he came near Damascus; and suddenly there shone round about him a light from heaven;

4. అప్పుడతడు నేలమీదపడి సౌలా, సౌలా, నీవేల నన్ను హింసించుచున్నావని తనతో ఒక స్వరము పలుకుట వినెను.

4. and falling to the earth, he heard a voice saying unto him, Saul, Saul, why dost thou persecute me?

5. ప్రభువా, నీవెవడవని అతడడుగగా ఆయన నేను నీవు హింసించు చున్న యేసును;

5. And he said, Who art thou, Lord? And the Lord said, I AM Jesus whom thou dost persecute; [it is] hard for thee to kick against the pricks.

6. లేచి పట్టణములోనికి వెళ్లుము, అక్కడ నీవు ఏమి చేయవలెనో అది నీకు తెలుపబడునని చెప్పెను.

6. And he trembling and astonished said, Lord, what wilt thou have me to do? And the Lord [said] unto him, Arise and go into the city, and it shall be told thee what it behooves thee to do.

7. అతనితో ప్రయాణము చేసిన మనుష్యులు ఆ స్వరము వినిరి గాని యెవనిని చూడక మౌనులై నిలువ బడిరి.

7. And the men who journeyed with him stood speechless, hearing indeed the voice, but seeing no one.

8. సౌలు నేలమీదనుండి లేచి కన్నులు తెరచినను ఏమియు చూడలేక పోయెను గనుక వారతని చెయ్యి పట్టుకొని దమస్కులోనికి నడిపించిరి.

8. Then Saul arose from the earth; and opening his eyes, he saw no one; so they led him by the hand and brought [him] into Damascus

9. అతడు మూడు దినములు చూపులేక అన్నపానము లేమియు పుచ్చుకొన కుండెను.

9. where he was three days without sight, and neither ate nor drank.

10. దమస్కులో అననీయ అను ఒక శిష్యుడుండెను. ప్రభువు దర్శనమందు అననీయా, అని అతనిని పిలువగా

10. And there was a certain disciple at Damascus, named Ananias; to whom the Lord said in a vision, Ananias. And he said, Behold, I [am here], Lord.

11. అతడు ప్రభువా, యిదిగో నేనున్నాననెను. అందుకు ప్రభువు నీవు లేచి, తిన్ననిదనబడిన వీధికి వెళ్లి, యూదా అనువాని యింట తార్సువాడైన సౌలు అనువానికొరకు విచారించుము; ఇదిగో అతడు ప్రార్థనచేయుచున్నాడు.

11. And the Lord [said] unto him, Arise and go into the street which is called Straight and enquire in the house of Judas for [one] called Saul, of Tarsus; for, behold, he prays

12. అతడు అననీయ అను నొక మనుష్యుడు లోపలికివచ్చి, తాను దృష్టిపొందునట్లు తలమీద చేతులుంచుట చూచి యున్నాడని చెప్పెను.

12. and has seen in a vision a man named Ananias coming in and putting [his] hand on him, that he might receive his sight.

13. అందుకు అననీయ ప్రభువా, యీ మనుష్యుడు యెరూషలేములో నీ పరిశుద్ధులకు ఎంతో కీడు చేసి యున్నాడని అతనిగూర్చి అనేకులవలన వింటిని.

13. Then Ananias answered, Lord, I have heard by many of this man, [of] how much evil he has done to thy saints in Jerusalem,

14. ఇక్కడను నీ నామమునుబట్టి ప్రార్థనచేయు వారినందరిని బంధించుటకు అతడు ప్రధానయాజకులవలన అధికారము పొంది యున్నాడని ఉత్తరమిచ్చెను.

14. and even here he has authority from the princes of the priests to bind all that call on thy name.

15. అందుకు ప్రభువునీవు వెళ్లుము, అన్యజనుల యెదుటను రాజుల యెదుటను ఇశ్రాయేలీయుల యెదుటను నా నామము భరించుటకు ఇతడు నేను ఏర్పరచుకొనిన సాధనమై యున్నాడు

15. But the Lord said unto him, Go; for he is a chosen vessel unto me, to bear my name before the Gentiles and kings and the sons of Israel;

16. ఇతడు నా నామముకొరకు ఎన్ని శ్రమలను అనుభవింపవలెనో నేను ఇతనికి చూపుదునని అతనితో చెప్పెను.

16. for I will show him how much it behooves him to suffer for my name.

17. అననీయ వెళ్లి ఆ యింట ప్రవేశించి, అతని మీద చేతులుంచి సౌలా, సహోదరుడా నీవు వచ్చిన మార్గములో నీకు కనబడిన ప్రభువైన యేసు, నీవు దృష్టి పొంది, పరిశుద్ధాత్మతో నింపబడునట్లు నన్ను పంపి యున్నాడని చెప్పెను.

17. Then Ananias went and entered into the house; and putting his hands on him said, Brother Saul, the Lord Jesus who appeared unto thee in the way as thou didst come, has sent me, that thou might receive thy sight and be filled with the Holy Spirit.

18. అప్పుడే అతని కన్నులనుండి పొరలవంటివి రాలగా దృష్టికలిగి, లేచి బాప్తిస్మము పొందెను; తరువాత ఆహారము పుచ్చుకొని బలపడెను.

18. And immediately there fell from his eyes as it had been scales; and he received sight immediately and arose and was baptized.

19. పిమ్మట అతడు దమస్కులోనున్న శిష్యులతోకూడ కొన్ని దినములుండెను.

19. And when he had received food, he was comforted. Then Saul was certain days with the disciples who were at Damascus.

20. వెంటనే సమాజమందిరములలో యేసే దేవుని కుమారుడని ఆయనను గూర్చి ప్రకటించుచు వచ్చెను.

20. And straightway he preached Christ in the synagogues, that he is the Son of God.

21. వినినవారందరు విభ్రాంతినొంది, యెరూషలేములో ఈ నామమునుబట్టి ప్రార్థన చేయువారిని నాశనము చేసినవాడితడే కాడా? వారిని బంధించి ప్రధాన యాజకులయొద్దకు కొనిపోవుటకు ఇక్కడికికూడ వచ్చి యున్నాడని చెప్పు కొనిరి.

21. But all that heard [him] were amazed and said, Is not this he that destroyed those who called on this name in Jerusalem and came here for that intent that he might bring them bound unto the princes of the priests?

22. అయితే సౌలు మరి ఎక్కువగా బలపడిఈయనే క్రీస్తు అని రుజువు పరచుచు దమస్కులో కాపురమున్న యూదులను కలవరపరచెను.

22. But Saul increased the more in strength and confounded the Jews who dwelt at Damascus, proving that this is the Christ.

23. అనేక దినములు గతించిన పిమ్మట యూదులు అతనిని చంపనాలోచింపగా

23. And as many days passed, the Jews took counsel among themselves to kill him;

24. వారి ఆలోచన సౌలునకు తెలియ వచ్చెను. వారు అతని చంపవలెనని రాత్రింబగళ్లు ద్వార ములయొద్ద కాచుకొనుచుండిరి

24. but their ambushes were understood by Saul. And they watched the gates day and night to kill him.

25. గనుక అతని శిష్యులు రాత్రివేళ అతనిని తీసికొని పోయి గంపలో ఉంచి, గోడగుండ అతనిని క్రిందికి దింపిరి.

25. Then the disciples took him by night and let [him] down by the wall in a basket.

26. అతడు యెరూషలేములోనికి వచ్చి శిష్యులతో కలిసి కొనుటకు యత్నముచేసెను గాని, అతడు శిష్యుడని నమ్మక అందరును అతనికి భయపడిరి.

26. And when Saul was come to Jerusalem, he tried to join himself to the disciples; but they were all afraid of him and did not believe that he was a disciple.

27. అయితే బర్నబా అతనిని దగ్గరతీసి అపొస్తలుల యొద్దకు తోడుకొనివచ్చి అతడు త్రోవలో ప్రభువును చూచెననియు, ప్రభువు అతనితో మాటలాడెననియు, అతడు దమస్కులో యేసు నామమునుబట్టి ధైర్యముగా బోధించెననియు, వారికి వివరముగా తెలియపరచెను.

27. But Barnabas took him and brought [him] to the apostles and declared unto them how he had seen the Lord in the way and that he had spoken to him and how he had preached boldly at Damascus in the name of Jesus.

28. అతడు యెరూషలేములో వారితోకూడ వచ్చుచు పోవుచు,

28. And he was with them coming in and going out at Jerusalem;

29. ప్రభువు నామమునుబట్టి ధైర్యముగా బోధించుచు, గ్రీకు భాషను మాట్లాడు యూదులతో మాటలాడుచు తర్కించుచునుండెను.

29. and he spoke boldly in the name of the Lord Jesus and disputed against the Greeks; but they went about to slay him,

30. వారు అతనిని చంప ప్రయత్నము చేసిరి గాని సహోదరులు దీనిని తెలిసికొని అతనిని కైసరయకు తోడు కొనివచ్చి తార్సునకు పంపిరి.

30. [which] when the brethren knew, they brought him down to Caesarea and sent him forth to Tarsus.

31. కావున యూదయ గలిలయ సమరయ దేశములందంతట సంఘము క్షేమాభివృద్ధినొందుచు సమాధానము కలిగియుండెను; మరియు ప్రభువునందు భయమును పరిశుద్ధాత్మ ఆదరణయు కలిగి నడుచుకొనుచు విస్తరించుచుండెను.

31. Then the churches had rest throughout all Judaea and Galilee and Samaria and were edified, walking in the fear of the Lord, and with the comfort of the Holy Spirit they were multiplied.

32. ఆ తరువాత పేతురు సకల ప్రదేశములలో సంచారము చేయుచు, లుద్దలో కాపురమున్న పరిశుద్ధులయొద్దకు వచ్చెను.

32. And it came to pass, as Peter passed throughout all [quarters], he came down also to the saints who dwelt at Lydda.

33. అక్కడ పక్షవాయువు కలిగి యెనిమిది ఏండ్లనుండి మంచము పట్టియుండిన ఐనెయ అను ఒక మనుష్యుని చూచి,

33. And there he found a certain man named Aeneas, who had been in bed eight years, for he was a paralytic.

34. పేతురు ఐనెయా, యేసు క్రీస్తు నిన్ను స్వస్థపరచుచున్నాడు, నీవు లేచి నీ పరుపు నీవే పరచుకొనుమని అతనితో చెప్పగా

34. And Peter said unto him, Aeneas, the Lord Jesus, the Christ, makes thee whole; arise and make thy bed. And he arose immediately.

35. వెంటనే అతడు లేచెను. లుద్దలోను షారోనులోను కాపురమున్నవారందరు అతనిచూచి ప్రభువుతట్టు తిరిగిరి.

35. And all that dwelt at Lydda and Saron saw him and turned to the Lord.

36. మరియు యొప్పేలో తబితా అను ఒక శిష్యురాలు ఉండెను; ఆమెకు భాషాంతరమున దొర్కా అని పేరు. ఆమె సత్‌ క్రియలను ధర్మకార్యములను బహుగా చేసి యుండెను.

36. Now there was at Joppa a certain disciple named Tabitha, which by interpretation is called Dorcas; this woman was full of good works and alms-deeds which she did.

37. ఆ దినములయందామె కాయిలాపడి చనిపోగా, వారు శవమును కడిగి మేడ గదిలో పరుండ బెట్టిరి.

37. And it came to pass in those days that she was sick and died, whom when they had washed, they laid [her] in an upper chamber.

38. లుద్ద యొప్పేకు దగ్గరగా ఉండుటచేత పేతురు అక్కడ ఉన్నాడని శిష్యులు విని, అతడు తడవుచేయక తమయొద్దకు రావలెనని వేడుకొనుటకు ఇద్దరు మనుష్యులను అతని యొద్దకు పంపిరి.

38. And since as Lydda was close to Joppa and the disciples had heard that Peter was there, they sent unto him two men, asking [him] that he not delay to come to them.

39. పేతురు లేచి వారితోకూడ వెళ్లి అక్కడ చేరినప్పుడు, వారు మేడగదిలోనికి అతనిని తీసికొని వచ్చిరి; విధవరాండ్రందరు వచ్చి యేడ్చుచు, దొర్కా తమతోకూడ ఉన్నప్పుడు కుట్టిన అంగీలును వస్త్రములును చూపుచు అతని యెదుట నిలిచిరి.

39. Then Peter arose and went with them. When he was come, they brought him into the upper chamber: and all the widows stood by him weeping and showing the coats and garments which Dorcas had made them while she was with them.

40. పేతురు అందరిని వెలుపలికి పంపి మోకాళ్లూని ప్రార్థనచేసి శవమువైపు తిరిగి తబితా, లెమ్మనగా ఆమె కన్నులు తెరచి పేతురును చూచి లేచి కూర్చుండెను.

40. Then Peter put them all out and knelt down and prayed and turned to the body said, Tabitha, arise. And she opened her eyes; and when she saw Peter, she sat up.

41. అతడామెకు చెయ్యి యిచ్చి లేవనెత్తి, పరిశుద్ధులను విధవరాండ్రను పిలిచి ఆమెను సజీవురాలనుగా వారికి అప్పగించెను.

41. And he gave her [his] hand and lifted her up; and calling the saints and widows, he presented her alive.

42. ఇది యొప్పేయందంతట తెలిసినప్పుడు అనేకులు ప్రభువు నందు విశ్వాసముంచిరి.

42. And it was known throughout all Joppa; and many believed in the Lord.

43. పేతురు యొప్పేలో సీమోనను ఒక చర్మకారునియొద్ద బహుదినములు నివసించెను.

43. And it came to pass that he tarried many days in Joppa with one Simon a tanner.:
