1. అననీయ అను ఒక మనుష్యుడు తన భార్యయైన సప్పీరాతో ఏకమై పొలమమ్మెను.

1. BUT A certain man named Ananias with his wife Sapphira sold a piece of property,

2. భార్య యెరుకనే వాడు దాని వెలలో కొంత దాచుకొని కొంత తెచ్చి అపొస్తలుల పాదములయొద్ద పెట్టెను.

2. And with his wife's knowledge and connivance he kept back and wrongfully appropriated some of the proceeds, bringing only a part and putting it at the feet of the apostles.

3. అప్పుడు పేతురు అననీయా, నీ భూమి వెలలో కొంత దాచుకొని పరి శుద్ధాత్మను మోసపుచ్చుటకు సాతాను ఎందుకు నీ హృదయమును ప్రేరేపించెను. ?

3. But Peter said, Ananias, why has Satan filled your heart that you should lie to and attempt to deceive the Holy Spirit, and should [in violation of your promise] withdraw secretly and appropriate to your own use part of the price from the sale of the land?

4. అది నీయొద్ద నున్నపుడు నీదే గదా? అమ్మిన పిమ్మట అది నీ వశమై యుండలేదా? యెందుకు ఈ సంగతి నీ హృదయములో ఉద్దేశించు కొన్నావు? నీవు మనుష్యులతో కాదు దేవునితోనే అబద్ధమాడితివని వానితో చెప్పెను.

4. As long as it remained unsold, was it not still your own? And [even] after it was sold, was not [the money] at your disposal and under your control? Why then, is it that you have proposed and purposed in your heart to do this thing? [How could you have the heart to do such a deed?] You have not [simply] lied to men [playing false and showing yourself utterly deceitful] but to God.

5. అననీయ యీ మాటలు వినుచునే పడి ప్రాణము విడువగా వినినవారి కందరికిని మిగుల భయము కలిగెను;

5. Upon hearing these words, Ananias fell down and died. And great dread and terror took possession of all who heard of it.

6. అప్పుడు పడుచు వారు లేచి వానిని బట్టతో చుట్టి మోసికొనిపోయి పాతిపెట్టిరి.

6. And the young men arose and wrapped up [the body] and carried it out and buried it.

7. ఇంచుమించు మూడు గంటల సేపటికి వానిభార్య జరిగినది యెరుగక లోపలికి వచ్చెను.

7. Now after an interval of about three hours his wife came in, not having learned of what had happened.

8. అప్పుడు పేతురుమీరు ఆ భూమిని ఇంతకే అమ్మితిరా నాతో చెప్పుమని ఆమెను అడిగెను. అందుకామె అవును ఇంతకే అని చెప్పెను.

8. And Peter said to her, Tell me, did you sell the land for so much? Yes, she said, for so much.

9. అందుకు పేతురు ప్రభువుయొక్క ఆత్మను శోధించుటకు మీరెందుకు ఏకీభవించితిరి? ఇదిగో నీ పెనిమిటిని పాతిపెట్టినవారి పాదములు వాకిటనే యున్నవి; వారు నిన్నును మోసికొని పోవుదురని ఆమెతొ చెప్పెను.

9. Then Peter said to her, How could you two have agreed and conspired together to try to deceive the Spirit of the Lord? Listen! The feet of those who have buried your husband are at the door, and they will carry you out [also].

10. వెంటనే ఆమె అతని పాదములయొద్ద పడి ప్రాణము విడిచెను. ఆ పడుచువారు, లోపలికి వచ్చి, ఆమె చనిపోయినది చూచి, ఆమెను మోసికొనిపోయి, ఆమె పెనిమిటియొద్ద పాతిపెట్టిరి.

10. And instantly she fell down at his feet and died; and the young men entering found her dead, and they carried her out and buried her beside her husband.

11. సంఘమంతటికిని, ఈ సంగతులు వినినవారికందరికిని మిగుల భయము కలిగెను.

11. And the whole church and all others who heard of these things were appalled [great awe and strange terror and dread seized them].

12. ప్రజలమధ్య అనేకమైన సూచకక్రియలును మహ త్కార్యములును అపొస్తలులచేత చేయబడుచుండెను. మరియు వారందరు ఏకమనస్కులై సొలొమోను మంటప ములో ఉండిరి.

12. Now by the hands of the apostles (special messengers) numerous and startling signs and wonders were being performed among the people. And by common consent they all met together [at the temple] in the covered porch (walk) called Solomon's.

13. కడమవారిలో ఎవడును వారితో కలిసి కొనుటకు తెగింపలేదు గాని

13. And none of those who were not of their number dared to join and associate with them, but the people held them in high regard and praised and made much of them.

14. ప్రజలు వారిని ఘనపరచు చుండిరి. పురుషులును స్త్రీలును అనేకులు మరియెక్కువగ విశ్వాసులై ప్రభువు పక్షమున చేర్చబడిరి.

14. More and more there were being added to the Lord those who believed [those who acknowledged Jesus as their Savior and devoted themselves to Him joined and gathered with them], crowds both of men and of women,

15. అందు చేత పేతురు వచ్చుచుండగా జనులు రోగులను వీధులలోనికి తెచ్చి, వారిలో ఎవనిమీదనైనను అతని నీడయైనను పడవలెనని మంచములమీదను పరుపులమీదను వారిని ఉంచిరి.

15. So that they [even] kept carrying out the sick into the streets and placing them on couches and sleeping pads, [in the hope] that as Peter passed by, at least his shadow might fall on some of them.

16. మరియు యెరూషలేము చుట్టునుండు పట్టణముల జనులు రోగులను అపవిత్రాత్మలచేత పీడింప బడిన వారిని మోసికొని కూడివచ్చిరి. వారందరు స్వస్థత పొందిరి.

16. And the people gathered also from the towns and hamlets around Jerusalem, bringing the sick and those troubled with foul spirits, and they were all cured.

17. ప్రధానయాజకుడును అతనితో కూడ ఉన్నవారందరును, అనగా సద్దూకయ్యుల తెగవారు లేచి మత్సరముతో నిండుకొని

17. But the high priest rose up and all who were his supporters, that is, the party of the Sadducees, and being filled with jealousy and indignation and rage,

18. అపొస్తలులను బలాత్కారముగా పట్టుకొని పట్టణపు చెరసాలలో ఉంచిరి.

18. They seized and arrested the apostles (special messengers) and put them in the public jail.

19. అయితే ప్రభువు దూత రాత్రివేళ ఆ చెరసాల తలుపులు తీసి వారిని వెలుపలికి తీసికొని వచ్చిమీరు వెళ్లి దేవాలయములో నిలువబడి

19. But during the night an angel of the Lord opened the prison doors and, leading them out, said,

20. ఈ జీవమునుగూర్చిన మాటలన్నియు ప్రజలతో చెప్పుడని వారితో అనెను.

20. Go, take your stand in the temple courts and declare to the people the whole doctrine concerning this Life (the eternal life which Christ revealed).

21. వారామాట విని, తెల్లవారగానే దేవాలయములోనికి వెళ్లి బోధించుచుండిరి. ప్రధాన యాజకుడును అతనితోకూడ నున్న వారును వచ్చి, మహా సభవారిని ఇశ్రాయేలీయుల పెద్దలనందరిని పిలువనంపించివారిని తోడుకొని రండని బంట్రౌతులను చెరసాలకు పంపిరి.

21. And when they heard this, they accordingly went into the temple about daybreak and began to teach. Now the high priest and his supporters who were with him arrived and called together the council (Sanhedrin), even all the senate of the sons of Israel, and they sent to the prison to have [the apostles] brought.

22. బంట్రౌతులు అక్కడికి వెళ్లినప్పుడు వారు చెరసాలలో కనబడనందున తిరిగివచ్చి

22. But when the attendants arrived there, they failed to find them in the jail; so they came back and reported,

23. చెరసాల బహు భద్రముగా మూసియుండుటయు, కావలివారు తలుపుల ముందర నిలిచియుండుటయు చూచితివిు గాని తలుపులు తీసినప్పుడు లోపల మాకొకడైనను కనబడలేదని వారికి తెలిపిరి.

23. We found the prison quite safely locked up and the guards were on duty outside the doors, but when we opened [it], we found no one on the inside.

24. అంతట దేవాలయపు అధిపతియు ప్రధాన యాజకులును ఆ మాటలు వినిఇది యేమవునో అని వారి విషయమై యెటుతోచక యుండిరి.

24. Now when the military leader of the temple area and the chief priests heard these facts, they were much perplexed and thoroughly at a loss about them, wondering into what this might grow.

25. అప్పుడు ఒకడు వచ్చిఇదిగో మీరు చెరసాలలో వేయించిన మనుష్యులు దేవాలయములో నిలిచి ప్రజలకు బోధించుచున్నారని వారికి తెలుపగా

25. But some man came and reported to them, saying, Listen! The men whom you put in jail are standing [right here] in the temple and teaching the people!

26. అధిపతి బంట్రౌతులతో కూడ పోయి, ప్రజలు రాళ్లతో కొట్టుదురేమో అని భయపడి, బలాత్కారము చేయకయే వారిని తీసికొని వచ్చెను.

26. Then the military leader went with the attendants and brought [the prisoners], but without violence, for they dreaded the people lest they be stoned by them.

27. వారిని తీసికొని వచ్చి సభలో నిలువబెట్టగా

27. So they brought them and set them before the council (Sanhedrin). And the high priest examined them by questioning,

28. ప్రధానయాజకుడు వారిని చూచిమీరు ఈ నామమునుబట్టి బోధింపకూడdదని మేము మీకు ఖండితముగా ఆజ్ఞాపింపలేదా? ఇదిగో మీరు యెరూషలేమును మీ బోధతో నింపి, యీ మనుష్యుని హత్య మామీదికి తేవలెనని ఉద్దేశించుచున్నారని చెప్పెను.

28. Saying, We definitely commanded and strictly charged you not to teach in or about this Name; yet here you have flooded Jerusalem with your doctrine and you intend to bring this Man's blood upon us.

29. అందుకు పేతురును అపొస్తలులునుమనుష్యలకు కాదు దేవునికే మేము లోబడవలెను గదా.

29. Then Peter and the apostles replied, We must obey God rather than men.

30. మీరు మ్రానున వ్రేలాడవేసి సంహరించిన యేసును మన పితరుల దేవుడు లేపెను.
ద్వితీయోపదేశకాండము 21:22-23

30. The God of our forefathers raised up Jesus, Whom you killed by hanging Him on a tree (cross). [Deut. 21:22, 23.]

31. ఇశ్రాయేలునకు మారుమనస్సును పాప క్షమాపణను దయచేయుటకై దేవుడాయనను అధిపతిని గాను రక్షకునిగాను తన దక్షిణహస్తబలముచేత హెచ్చించి యున్నాడు.

31. God exalted Him to His right hand to be Prince and Leader and Savior and Deliverer and Preserver, in order to grant repentance to Israel and to bestow forgiveness and release from sins.

32. మేమును, దేవుడు తనకు విధేయులైన వారికి అనుగ్రహించిన పరిశుద్ధాత్మయు, ఈ సంగతులకు సాక్షులమై యున్నామని చెప్పిరి.

32. And we are witnesses of these things, and the Holy Spirit is also, Whom God has bestowed on those who obey Him.

33. వారు ఈ మాట విని అత్యాగ్రహము తెచ్చుకొని వీరిని చంప నుద్దేశించగా

33. Now when they heard this, they were cut to the heart and infuriated and wanted to kill the disciples.

34. సమస్త ప్రజలవలన ఘనత నొందినవాడును ధర్మశాస్త్రోపదేశకుడునైన గమలీయేలను ఒక పరిసయ్యుడు మహాసభలో లేచిఈ మనుష్యులను కొంత సేపు వెలుపల ఉంచుడని ఆజ్ఞాపించి వారితో ఇట్లనెను

34. But a certain Pharisee in the council (Sanhedrin) named Gamaliel, a teacher of the Law, highly esteemed by all the people, standing up, ordered that the apostles be taken outside for a little while.

35. ఇశ్రాయేలీయులారా, యీ మనుష్యుల విషయమై మీరేమి చేయబోవుచున్నారో జాగ్రత్తసుమండి.

35. Then he addressed them [the council, saying]: Men of Israel, take care in regard to what you propose to do concerning these men.

36. ఈ దినములకు మునుపు థూదా లేచి తానొక గొప్ప వాడనని చెప్పుకొనెను; ఇంచుమించు నన్నూరుమంది మనుష్యులు వానితో కలిసి కొనిరి, వాడు చంపబడెను, వానికి లోబడిన వారందరును చెదరి వ్యర్థులైరి.

36. For before our time there arose Theudas, asserting himself to be a person of importance, with whom a number of men allied themselves, about 400; but he was killed and all who had listened to and adhered to him were scattered and brought to nothing.

37. వానికి తరువాత జనసంఖ్య దినములలో గలిలయుడైన యూదా అను ఒకడు వచ్చి, ప్రజలను తనతో కూడ తిరుగుబాటుచేయ ప్రేరేపించెను; వాడుకూడ నశించెను, వానికి లోబడినవారందరును చెదరి పోయిరి.

37. And after this one rose up Judas the Galilean, [who led an uprising] during the time of the census, and drew away a popular following after him; he also perished and all his adherents were scattered.

38. కాబట్టి నేను మీతో చెప్పునదేమనగా ఈ మనుష్యుల జోలికి పోక వారిని విడిచిపెట్టుడి. ఈ ఆలోచనయైనను ఈ కార్యమైనను మనుష్యులవలన కలిగిన దాయెనా అది వ్యర్థమగును.

38. Now in the present case let me say to you, stand off (withdraw) from these men and let them alone. For if this doctrine or purpose or undertaking or movement is of human origin, it will fail (be overthrown and come to nothing);

39. దేవునివలన కలిగినదాయెనా మీరు వారిని వ్యర్థపరచలేరు; మీరొకవేళ దేవునితో పోరాడువారవుదురు సుమీ.

39. But if it is of God, you will not be able to stop or overthrow or destroy them; you might even be found fighting against God!

40. వారతని మాటకు సమ్మతించి, అపొస్తలులను పిలిపించి కొట్టించియేసు నామమునుబట్టి బోధింపకూడదని ఆజ్ఞాపించి వారిని విడుదల చేసిరి.

40. So, convinced by him, they took his advice; and summoning the apostles, they flogged them and sternly forbade them to speak in or about the name of Jesus, and allowed them to go.

41. ఆ నామముకొరకు అవమానము పొందుటకు పాత్రులని యెంచబడినందున వారు సంతోషించుచు మహాసభ యెదుటనుండి వెళ్లిపోయి

41. So they went out from the presence of the council (Sanhedrin), rejoicing that they were being counted worthy [dignified by the indignity] to suffer shame and be exposed to disgrace for [the sake of] His name.

42. ప్రతిదినము దేవాలయములోను ఇంటింటను మానక బోధించుచు, యేసే క్రీస్తని ప్రకటించుచుండిరి.

42. Yet [in spite of the threats] they never ceased for a single day, both in the temple area and at home, to teach and to proclaim the good news (Gospel) of Jesus [as] the Christ (the Messiah).
