1. యూదుల అధికారియైన నీకొదేమను పరిసయ్యు డొకడుండెను.

1. There was however, a man from among the Pharisees, Nicodemus, his name, ruler of the Jews.

2. అతడు రాత్రియందు ఆయనయొద్దకు వచ్చి బోధకుడా, నీవు దేవునియొద్దనుండి వచ్చిన బోధ కుడవని మే మెరుగుదుము; దేవుడతనికి తోడైయుంటేనే గాని నీవు చేయుచున్న సూచక క్రియలను ఎవడును చేయలేడని ఆయనతో చెప్పెను.

2. The same, came unto him, by night, and said unto him Rabbi! we know that, from God, thou hast come, a teacher; for, no one, can be doing, these signs, which, thou, art doing, except, God, be with him.

3. అందుకు యేసు అతనితోఒకడు క్రొత్తగా జన్మించితేనే కాని అతడు దేవుని రాజ్యమును చూడలేడని నీతో నిశ్చయముగా చెప్పు చున్నాననెను.

3. Jesus answered, and said unto him Verily, verily, I say unto thee: Except one be born from above, he cannot see the kingdom of God.

4. అందుకు నీకొదేము ముసలి వాడైన మనుష్యుడేలాగు జన్మింపగలడు? రెండవమారు తల్లి గర్బమందు ప్రవేశించి జన్మింపగలడా అని ఆయనను అడుగగా

4. Nicodemus saith unto him How, can a man be born, when he is, old? Can he, into the womb of his mother, a second time, enter, and be born?

5. యేసు ఇట్లనెను ఒకడు నీటిమూలముగాను ఆత్మమూలము గాను జన్మించితేనేగాని దేవుని రాజ్యములో ప్రవేశింప లేడని నీతో నిశ్చయముగా చెప్పుచున్నాను.

5. Jesus answered Verily, verily, I say unto thee: Except one be born of water and spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.

6. శరీర మూలముగా జన్మించినది శరీరమును ఆత్మమూలముగా జన్మించినది ఆత్మయునై యున్నది.

6. That which hath been born of the flesh, is, flesh, and, that which hath been born of the spirit, is, spirit.

7. మీరు క్రొత్తగా జన్మింపవలెనని నేను నీతో చెప్పినందుకు ఆశ్చర్యపడవద్దు.

7. Do not marvel, that I said unto thee: Ye must needs be born from above.

8. గాలి తన కిష్టమైన చోటను విసరును; నీవు దాని శబ్దము విందువేగాని అది యెక్కడనుండి వచ్చునో యెక్కడికి పోవునో నీకు తెలియదు. ఆత్మమూలముగా జన్మించిన ప్రతివాడును ఆలాగే యున్నాడనెను.

8. The spirit, where it pleaseth, doth breathe, and, the sound thereof, thou hearest; but knowest not, whence it cometh and whither it goeth: Thus, is every one who hath been born of the spirit.

9. అందుకు నీకొదేము ఈ సంగతులేలాగు సాధ్యములని ఆయనను అడుగగా

9. Nicodemus answered, and said unto him How, can these things, come about?

10. యేసు ఇట్లనెను నీవు ఇశ్రాయేలుకు బోధకుడవై యుండి వీటిని ఎరుగవా?

10. Jesus answered, and said unto him Art, thou, the teacher of Israel, and, these things, knowest not?

11. మేము ఎరిగిన సంగతియే చెప్పుచున్నాము, చూచినదానికే సాక్ష్యమిచ్చుచున్నాము, మా సాక్ష్యము మీరంగీకరింపరని నీతో నిశ్చయముగా చెప్పుచున్నాను.
యెషయా 55:4

11. Verily, verily, I say unto thee: What we know, we speak, and, of what we have seen, we bear witness, and, our witness, ye receive not.

12. భూసంబంధమైన సంగతులు నేను మీతో చెప్పితే మీరు నమ్మకున్నప్పుడు, పరలోకసంబంధ మైనవి మీతో చెప్పినయెడల ఏలాగు నమ్ముదురు?

12. If, the earthly things, I told you, and ye believe not, How, if I should tell you the heavenly things, will ye believe?

13. మరియు పరలోకమునుండి దిగివచ్చినవాడే, అనగా పరలోకములో ఉండు మనుష్యకుమారుడే తప్ప పరలోకము నకు ఎక్కిపోయిన వాడెవడును లేడు.

13. And, no one, hath ascended into heaven, save he that, out of heaven, descended, The Son of Man.

14. అరణ్యములో మోషే సర్పమును ఏలాగు ఎత్తెనో,
సంఖ్యాకాండము 21:9

14. And, just as, Moses, lifted up the serpent in the desert, so, must, the Son of Man, be lifted up,

15. ఆలాగే విశ్వసించు ప్రతివాడును నశింపక ఆయన ద్వారా నిత్యజీవము పొందునట్లు మనుష్యకుమారుడు ఎత్తబడవలెను.

15. That, whosoever believeth in him, may have life age-abiding.

16. దేవుడు లోకమును ఎంతో ప్రేమించెను. కాగా ఆయన తన అద్వితీయకుమారునిగా పుట్టిన వానియందు విశ్వాసముంచు ప్రతివాడును నశింపక నిత్యజీవము పొందునట్లు ఆయనను అనుగ్రహించెను.

16. For God, so loved, the world, that, his Only Begotten Son, he gave, that, whosoever believeth on him, might not perish, but have life age-abiding.

17. లోకము తన కుమారుని ద్వారా రక్షణ పొందుటకేగాని లోకమునకు తీర్పు తీర్చుటకు దేవుడాయనను లోకములోనికి పంప లేదు.

17. For God, sent not, his Son into the world, that he might judge the world, but, that the world might be saved through him.

18. ఆయనయందు విశ్వాసముంచువానికి తీర్పు తీర్చబడదు; విశ్వసింపనివాడు దేవుని అద్వితీయకుమారుని నామమందు విశ్వాస ముంచలేదు గనుక వానికి ఇంతకు మునుపే తీర్పు తీర్చబడెను.

18. He that believeth on him, is not to be judged: he that believeth not, already, hath been judged, because he hath not believed on the name of the Only Begotten Son of God.

19. ఆ తీర్పు ఇదే; వెలుగు లోకములోనికి వచ్చెను గాని తమ క్రియలు చెడ్డవైనందున మనుష్యులు వెలుగును ప్రేమింపక చీకటినే ప్రేమించిరి.

19. And, this, is the judgment: That, the light, hath come into the world, and men loved, rather the darkness than the light, for, wicked, were their, works.

20. దుష్కార్యము చేయు ప్రతివాడు వెలుగును ద్వేషించును, తన క్రియలు దుష్‌క్రియలుగా కనబడకుండునట్లు వెలుగునొద్దకు రాడు.

20. For, whosoever doth practise corrupt things, hateth the light, and cometh not unto the light, lest his works should be reproved;

21. సత్యవర్తనుడైతే తన క్రియలు దేవుని మూలముగా చేయబడియున్నవని ప్రత్యక్షపరచ బడునట్లు వెలుగునొద్దకు వచ్చును.

21. But, he that doeth the truth, cometh unto the light, that his works may be, made manifest, that, in God, have they been wrought.

22. అటు తరువాత యేసు తన శిష్యులతో కూడ యూదయ దేశమునకు వచ్చి అక్కడ వారితో కాలము గడుపుచు బాప్తిస్మమిచ్చుచు ఉండెను.

22. After these things, came Jesus, and his disciples, into the Judaean land; and, there, was he tarrying with them, and immersing.

23. సలీము దగ్గర నున్న ఐనోనను స్థలమున నీళ్లు విస్తారముగా ఉండెను గనుక యోహాను కూడ అక్కడ బాప్తిస్మమిచ్చుచు ఉండెను; జనులు వచ్చి బాప్తిస్మముపొందిరి.

23. And John also was immersing in Aenon, near to him, because, many waters, were there; and they were coming, and being immersed;

24. యోహాను ఇంకను చెరసాలలో వేయబడియుండ లేదు.

24. for, not yet, had John been cast into prison.

25. శుద్ధీకరణాచారమును గూర్చి యోహాను శిష్యులకు ఒక యూదునితో వివాదము పుట్టెను.

25. There arose, therefore, a questioning, from among the disciples of John, with a Jew, concerning purification.

26. గనుక వారు యోహాను నొద్దకు వచ్చిబోధకుడా, యెవడు యొర్దానుకు అవతల నీతో కూడ ఉండెనో, నీ వెవనిగూర్చి సాక్ష్యమిచ్చితివో, యిదిగో, ఆయన బాప్తిస్మ మిచ్చుచున్నాడు; అందరు ఆయనయొద్దకు వచ్చు చున్నారని అతనితో చెప్పిరి.

26. And they came unto John, and said unto him Rabbi! he who was with thee beyond the Jordan, unto whom, thou, hast borne witness, see! the same, is immersing; and, all, are coming unto him.

27. అందుకు యోహాను ఇట్లనెను తనకు పరలోకమునుండి అనుగ్రహింపబడితేనేగాని యెవడును ఏమియు పొంద నేరడు.

27. John answered, and said A man can receive, nothing, except it have been given him out of heaven.

28. నేను క్రీస్తును కాననియు, ఆయనకంటె ముందుగా పంపబడినవాడనే అనియు చెప్పినట్టు మీరే నాకు సాక్షులు.

28. Ye yourselves, unto me, bear witness, that, I, said I, am not the Christ; but I am sent before, That One.

29. పెండ్లికుమార్తెగలవాడు పెండ్లి కుమారుడు; అయితే నిలువబడి పెండ్లి కుమారుని స్వరము వినెడి స్నేహితుడు ఆ పెండ్లి కుమారుని స్వరము విని మిక్కిలి సంతోషించును; ఈ నా సంతోషము పరిపూర్ణమై యున్నది.

29. He that hath the bride, is, bridegroom; but, the friend of the bridegroom, who standeth by and hearkeneth unto him, greatly, rejoiceth, by reason of the voice of the bridegroom. This, my joy, therefore, is fulfilled.

30. ఆయన హెచ్చవలసియున్నది, నేను తగ్గవలసి యున్నది.

30. That One, it behoveth to increase, but, me, to decrease.

31. పైనుండి వచ్చువాడు అందరికి పైనున్నవాడు; భూమి నుండి వచ్చువాడు భూసంబంధియై భూసంబంధమైన సంగతులనుగూర్చి మాటలాడును; పరలోకమునుండి వచ్చు వాడు అందరికి పైగానుండి
కీర్తనల గ్రంథము 97:9

31. He that, from above, doth come, over all, is: he that is of the earth, of the earth, is, and, of the earth, doth speak: he that, out of heaven, doth come, over all, is,

32. తాను కన్నవాటినిగూర్చియు విన్నవాటినిగూర్చియు సాక్ష్యమిచ్చును; ఆయన సాక్ష్యము ఎవడును అంగీకరింపడు.
యెషయా 55:4

32. What he hath seen and heard, of, the same, he beareth witness, and, his witness, no one, receiveth:

33. ఆయన సాక్ష్యము అంగీకరించినవాడు దేవుడు సత్యవంతుడను మాటకు ముద్రవేసి యున్నాడు.

33. He that hath received his witness, hath set seal that, God, is, true.

34. ఏలయనగా దేవుడు తాను పంపినవానికి కొలతలేకుండ ఆత్మననుగ్రహించును గనుక ఆయన దేవుని మాటలే పలుకును.

34. For, he whom God hath sent, the sayings of God, doth speak; for, not by measure, giveth he the Spirit.

35. తండ్రి కుమారుని ప్రేమించుచున్నాడు. గనుక ఆయన చేతికి సమస్తము అప్పగించి యున్నాడు.

35. The Father, loveth the Son, and, all things, hath given into his hand.

36. కుమారునియందు విశ్వాసముంచువాడే నిత్యజీవముగలవాడు, కుమారునికి విధేయుడు కానివాడు జీవము చూడడు గాని దేవుని ఉగ్రత వానిమీద నిలిచి యుండును.

36. He that believeth on the Son, hath life age-abiding: whereas, he that yieldeth not unto the Son, shall not see life, but, the anger of God, awaiteth him.
