1. Jesus finished saying all these things to the people. Then he went into Capernaum.

2. ఒక శతాధిపతికి ప్రియుడైన దాసుడొకడు రోగియై చావ సిద్ధమైయుండెను.

2. In Capernaum there was an army officer. He had a servant who was very sick; he was near death. The officer loved the servant very much.

3. శతాధిపతి యేసునుగూర్చి విని, ఆయన వచ్చి తన దాసుని స్వస్థపరచవలెనని ఆయనను వేడుకొనుటకు యూదుల పెద్దలను ఆయన యొద్దకు పంపెను.

3. When he heard about Jesus, he sent some older Jewish leaders to him. He wanted the men to ask Jesus to come and save the life of his servant.

4. వారు యేసునొద్దకు వచ్చినీవలన ఈ మేలు పొందుటకు అతడు యోగ్యుడు;

4. The men went to Jesus. They begged Jesus to help the officer. They said, 'This officer is worthy to have your help.

5. అతడు మన జనులను ప్రేమించి మనకు సమాజమందిరము తానే కట్టించెనని ఆయనతో చెప్పి మిక్కిలి బతిమాలు కొనిరి.

5. He loves our people and he built the synagogue for us.'

6. So Jesus went with them. He was coming near the officer's house when the officer sent friends to say, 'Lord, you don't need to do anything special for me. I am not good enough for you to come into my house.

7. అందుచేత నీయొద్దకు వచ్చుటకు పాత్రుడనని నేను ఎంచకొనలేదు; అయితే మాటమాత్రము సెలవిమ్ము, అప్పుడు నా దాసుడు స్వస్థపరచబడును,

7. That is why I did not come to you myself. You need only to give the order, and my servant will be healed.

8. నేను సహా అధికారమునకు లోబడినవాడను; నా చేతిక్రిందను సైనికులు ఉన్నారు; నేనొకని పొమ్మంటె పోవును, ఒకని రమ్మంటె వచ్చును, నాదాసుని చేయుమంటే ఇది చేయునని నేను చెప్పినట్టు ఆయనతో చెప్పుడని వారిని పంపెను.

8. I know this because I am a man under the authority of other men. And I have soldiers under my authority. I tell one soldier, 'Go,' and he goes. And I tell another soldier, 'Come,' and he comes. And I say to my servant, 'Do this,' and my servant obeys me.'

9. యేసు ఈ మాటలు విని, అతనిగూర్చి ఆశ్చర్యపడి, తనవెంట వచ్చుచున్న జనసమూహము వైపు తిరిగి ఇశ్రాయేలులో నైనను ఇంత గొప్ప విశ్వాసము నేను చూడలేదని మీతో చెప్పుచున్నాననెను.

9. When Jesus heard this, he was amazed. He turned to the people following him and said, 'I tell you, this is the most faith I have seen anywhere, even in Israel. '

10. పంపబడిన వారు ఇంటికి తిరిగివచ్చి, ఆ దాసుడు స్వస్థుడై యుండుట కనుగొనిరి.

10. The group that was sent to Jesus went back to the house. There they found that the servant was healed.

11. వెంటనే ఆయన నాయీనను ఒక ఊరికి వెళ్లు చుండగా, ఆయన శిష్యులును బహు జనసమూహమును ఆయనతో కూడ వెళ్లుచుండిరి.

11. The next day Jesus and his followers went to a town called Nain. A big crowd was traveling with them.

12. ఆయన ఆ ఊరి గవినియొద్దకు వచ్చి నప్పుడు, చనిపోయిన యొకడు వెలుపలికి మోసికొని పోబడుచుండెను; అతని తల్లికి అతడొక్కడే కుమారుడు, ఆమె విధవరాలు; ఆ ఊరి జనులు అనేకులు ఆమెతో కూడ ఉండిరి.

12. When Jesus came near the town gate, he saw some people carrying a dead body. It was the only son of a woman who was a widow. Walking with her were many other people from the town.

13. When the Lord saw the woman, he felt very sorry for her and said, 'Don't cry.'

14. He walked to the open coffin and touched it. The men who were carrying the coffin stopped. Jesus spoke to the dead son: 'Young man, I tell you, get up!'

15. Then the boy sat up and began to talk, and Jesus gave him back to his mother.

16. అందరు భయాక్రాంతులై మనలో గొప్ప ప్రవక్త బయలుదేరి యున్నాడనియు, దేవుడు తన ప్రజలకు దర్శనమను గ్రహించి యున్నాడనియు దేవుని మహిమపరచిరి.

16. Everyone was filled with fear. They began praising God and said, 'A great prophet is here with us!' and 'God is taking care of his people.'

17. ఆయననుగూర్చిన యీ సమాచారము యూదయ యందంతటను చుట్టుపట్ల ప్రదేశమందంతటను వ్యాపించెను.

17. This news about Jesus spread all over Judea and to all the other places around there.

18. యోహాను శిష్యులు ఈ సంగతులన్నియు అతనికి తెలియజేసిరి.

18. John's followers told him about all these things. John called for two of his followers.

19. అంతట యోహాను తన శిష్యులలో ఇద్దరిని పిలిచి రాబోవువాడవు నీవేనా? మేము మరియొకని కొరకు కనిపెట్టవలెనా? అని అడుగుటకు వారిని ప్రభువు నొద్దకు పంపెను.

19. He sent them to the Lord to ask, 'Are you the one we heard was coming, or should we wait for someone else?'

20. So the men came to Jesus. They said, 'John the Baptizer sent us to you with this question: 'Are you the one who is coming, or should we wait for someone else?''

21. ఆ గడియలోనే ఆయన రోగములును, బాధలును, అపవిత్రాత్మలునుగల అనేకులను స్వస్థపరచి, చాలమంది గ్రుడ్డివారికి చూపు దయ చేసెను.

21. Right then Jesus healed many people of their sicknesses and diseases. He healed those who had evil spirits and made many who were blind able to see again.

22. అప్పుడాయన మీరు వెళ్లి, కన్నవాటిని విన్న వాటిని యోహానుకు తెలుపుడి. గ్రుడ్డివారు చూపు పొందు చున్నారు, కుంటివారు నడుచుచున్నారు, కుష్ఠ రోగులు శుద్ధులగుచున్నారు, చెవిటివారు వినుచున్నారు, చనిపోయినవారు లేపబడుచున్నారు, బీదలకు సువార్త ప్రక టింపబడుచున్నది;

22. Then he said to John's followers, 'Go tell John what you have seen and heard: The blind can see. The crippled can walk. People with leprosy are healed. The deaf can hear. The dead are brought back to life. And the Good News is being told to the poor.

23. నా విషయమై అభ్యంతరపడని వాడు ధన్యుడనివారికి ఉత్తరమిచ్చెను.

23. What great blessings there are for those who don't have a problem accepting me.'

24. యోహాను దూతలు వెళ్లిన తరువాత, ఆయన యోహానునుగూర్చి జనసమూహములతో ఈలాగు చెప్పసాగెనుమీరేమి చూచుటకు అరణ్యములోనికి వెళ్లితిరి? గాలికి కదలుచున్న రెల్లునా?

24. When John's followers left, Jesus began talking to the people about John: 'What did you people go out into the desert to see? Someone who is weak, like a stem of grass blowing in the wind?

25. మరేమి చూడ వెళ్లితిరి? సన్నపు బట్టలు ధరించుకొనిన వానినా? ఇదిగో ప్రశస్తవస్త్రములు ధరించుకొని, సుఖముగా జీవించువారు రాజగృహములలో ఉందురు.

25. Really, what did you expect to see? Someone dressed in fine clothes? Of course not. People who wear fancy clothes and live in luxury are all in kings' palaces.

26. అయితే మరేమి చూడవెళ్లితిరి? ప్రవక్తనా? అవునుగాని ప్రవక్తకంటె గొప్పవానినని మీతో చెప్పుచున్నాను.

26. So what did you go out to see? A prophet? Yes, John is a prophet. But I tell you, he is more than that.

27. ఇదిగో నేను నా దూతను నీకు ముందుగా పంపు చున్నాను, అతడు నీ ముందర నీ మార్గము సిద్ధ పరచును అని యెవరినిగూర్చి వ్రాయబడెనో అతడే యీ యోహాను.

27. This Scripture was written about him: 'Listen! I will send my messenger ahead of you. He will prepare the way for you.'

28. I tell you, no one ever born is greater than John. But even the least important person in God's kingdom is greater than John.'

29. ప్రజలందరును సుంకరులును (యోహాను బోధ) విని, అతడిచ్చిన బాప్తిస్మము పొందినవారై, దేవుడు న్యాయవంతుడని యొప్పుకొనిరి గాని

29. (When the people heard this, they all agreed that God's teaching was good. Even the tax collectors agreed. These were the people who were baptized by John.

30. పరిసయ్యులును ధర్మశాస్త్రోపదేశకులును అతనిచేత బాప్తిస్మము పొందక, తమ విషయమైన దేవుని సంకల్పమును నిరాకరించిరి.

30. But the Pharisees and experts in the law refused to accept God's plan for themselves; they did not let John baptize them.)

31. కాబట్టి యీ తరము మనుష్యులను నేను దేనితో పోల్చు దును, వారు దేనిని పోలియున్నారు?

31. What shall I say about the people of this time? What can I compare them to? What are they like?

32. సంతవీధులలో కూర్చుండియుండి మీకు పిల్లనగ్రోవి ఊదితివిు గాని మీరు నాట్యమాడరైతిరి; ప్రలాపించితివిు గాని మీరేడ్వ రైతిరి అని యొకనితో ఒకడు చెప్పుకొని పిలుపులాట లాడుకొను పిల్లకాయలను పోలియున్నారు.

32. They are like children sitting in the marketplace. One group of children calls to the other children and says, 'We played flute music for you, but you did not dance; we sang a sad song, but you did not cry.'

33. బాప్తిస్మ మిచ్చు యోహాను, రొట్టె తినకయు ద్రాక్షారసము త్రాగ కయు వచ్చెను గనుకవీడు దయ్యముపట్టినవాడని మీ రనుచున్నారు.

33. John the Baptizer came and did not eat the usual food or drink wine. And you say, 'He has a demon inside him.'

34. మనుష్య కుమారుడు తినుచును, త్రాగుచును వచ్చెను గనుక మీరుఇదిగో వీడు తిండిపోతును మద్యపానియు, సుంకరులకును పాపులకును స్నేహితు డును అను చున్నారు.

34. The Son of Man came eating and drinking. And you say, 'Look at him! He eats too much and drinks too much wine! He is a friend of tax collectors and other sinners!'

35. అయినను జ్ఞానము జ్ఞానమని దాని సంబంధులందరినిబట్టి తీర్పుపొందుననెను.

35. But wisdom is shown to be right by those who accept it.'

36. పరిసయ్యులలో ఒకడు తనతో కూడ భోజనము చేయవలెనని ఆయననడిగెను. ఆయన ఆ పరిసయ్యుని యింటికి వెళ్లి, భోజనపంక్తిని కూర్చుండగా

36. One of the Pharisees asked Jesus to eat with him. Jesus went into the Pharisee's house and took a place at the table.

37. ఆ ఊరిలో ఉన్న పాపాత్మురాలైన యొక స్త్రీ, యేసు పరిసయ్యుని యింట భోజనమునకు కూర్చున్నాడని తెలిసికొని, యొక బుడ్డిలో అత్తరు తీసికొనివచ్చి

37. There was a sinful woman in that town. She knew that Jesus was eating at the Pharisee's house. So the woman brought some expensive perfume in an alabaster jar.

38. వెనుకతట్టు ఆయన పాదములయొద్ద నిలువబడి, యేడ్చుచు కన్నీళ్లతో ఆయన పాదములను తడిపి, తన తలవెండ్రుకలతో తుడిచి, ఆయన పాదములను ముద్దుపెట్టుకొని, ఆ అత్తరు వాటికి పూసెను.

38. She stood at Jesus' feet, crying. Then she began to wash his feet with her tears. She dried his feet with her hair. She kissed his feet many times and rubbed them with the perfume.

39. ఆయనను పిలిచిన పరిసయ్యుడు అది చూచిఈయన ప్రవక్తయైన యెడల తన్ను ముట్టుకొనిన యీ స్త్రీ ఎవతెయో ఎటువంటిదో యెరిగియుండును; ఇది పాపాత్ము రాలు అని తనలో తాననుకొనెను.

39. When the Pharisee who asked Jesus to come to his house saw this, he thought to himself, 'If this man were a prophet, he would know that the woman who is touching him is a sinner!'

40. అందుకు యేసుసీమోనూ, నీతో ఒక మాట చెప్పవలెనని యున్నానని అతనితో అనగా అతడుబోధకుడా, చెప్పుమనెను.

40. In response, Jesus said to the Pharisee, 'Simon, I have something to say to you.' Simon said, 'Let me hear it, Teacher.'

41. అప్పుడు యేసు అప్పు ఇచ్చు ఒకనికి ఇద్దరు ఋణస్థు లుండిరి. వారిలో ఒకడు ఐదువందల దేనారములును మరియొకడు ఏబది దేనారములును అచ్చియుండిరి.

41. Jesus said, 'There were two men. Both men owed money to the same banker. One man owed him 500 silver coins. The other man owed him 50 silver coins.

42. ఆ అప్పు తీర్చుటకు వారియొద్ద ఏమియు లేకపోయెను గనుక అతడు వారిద్దరిని క్షమించెను. కాబట్టి వీరిలో ఎవడు అతని ఎక్కువగా ప్రేమించునో చెప్పుమని అడిగెను.

42. The men had no money, so they could not pay their debt. But the banker told the men that they did not have to pay him. Which one of those two men will love him more?'

43. అందుకు సీమోను అతడెవనికి ఎక్కువ క్షమించెనో వాడే అని నాకుతోచుచున్నదని చెప్పగా ఆయననీవు సరిగా యోచించితివని అతనితో చెప్పి

43. Simon answered, 'I think it would be the one who owed him the most money.' Jesus said to him, 'You are right.'

44. ఆ స్త్రీ వైపు తిరిగి, సీమోనుతో ఇట్లనెను ఈ స్త్రీని చూచుచున్నానే, నేను నీ యింటిలోనికి రాగా నీవు నా పాదములకు నీళ్లియ్య లేదు గాని, యీమె తన కన్నీళ్లతో నా పాదములను తడిపి తన తలవెండ్రుకలతో తుడిచెను.

44. Then he turned to the woman and said to Simon, 'Do you see this woman? When I came into your house, you gave me no water for my feet. But she washed my feet with her tears and dried my feet with her hair.

45. నీవు నన్ను ముద్దుపెట్టుకొనలేదు గాని, నేను లోపలికి వచ్చి నప్పటి నుండి యీమె నా పాదములు ముద్దుపెట్టు కొనుట మాన లేదు.

45. You did not greet me with a kiss, but she has been kissing my feet since I came in.

46. నీవు నూనెతో నా తల అంటలేదు గాని ఈమె నా పాదములకు అత్తరు పూసెను.

46. You did not honor me with oil for my head, but she rubbed my feet with her sweetsmelling oil.

47. I tell you that her many sins are forgiven. This is clear, because she showed great love. People who are forgiven only a little will love only a little.'

48. నీ పాపములు క్షమింప బడియున్నవి అని ఆమెతో అనెను.

48. Then Jesus said to her, 'Your sins are forgiven.'

49. అప్పుడాయనతో కూడ భోజన పంక్తిని కూర్చుండిన వారుపాపములు క్షమించుచున్న యితడెవడని తమలోతాము అను కొనసాగిరి.

49. The people sitting at the table began to think to themselves, 'Who does this man think he is? How can he forgive sins?'

50. అందుకాయన నీ విశ్వాసము నిన్ను రక్షించెను, సమాధానము గలదానవై వెళ్లుమని ఆ స్త్రీతో చెప్పెను.

50. Jesus said to the woman, 'Because you believed, you are saved from your sins. Go in peace.'
