1. He also said to the disciples: "There was a rich man who received an accusation that his manager was squandering his possessions.

2. అతడు వాని పిలిపించి నిన్నుగూర్చి నేను వినుచున్న యీ మాట ఏమిటి? నీ గృహనిర్వాహకత్వపు లెక్క అప్పగించుము; నీవు ఇక మీదట గృహనిర్వాహకుడవై యుండ వల్లకాదని వానితో చెప్పెను.

2. So he called the manager in and asked, 'What is this I hear about you? Give an account of your management, because you can no longer be [my] manager.'

3. ఆ గృహనిర్వాహకుడు తనలో తాను నా యజమానుడు ఈ గృహనిర్వాహ కత్వపు పనిలోనుండి నన్ను తీసివేయును గనుక నేను ఏమి చేతును? త్రవ్వలేను, భిక్షమెత్త సిగ్గుపడుచున్నాను.

3. "Then the manager said to himself, 'What should I do, since my master is taking the management away from me? I'm not strong enough to dig; I'm ashamed to beg.

4. నన్ను ఈ గృహనిర్వాహకత్వపు పనినుండి తొలగించునప్పుడు వారు నన్ను తమ యిండ్లలోనికి చేర్చుకొనునట్లు ఏమి చేయవలెనో నాకు తెలియుననుకొని,

4. I know what I'll do so that when I'm removed from management, people will welcome me into their homes.'

5. తన యజమానుని రుణస్థులలో ఒక్కొక్కని పిలిపించి నీవు నా యజమానునికి ఎంత అచ్చియున్నావని మొదటివాని నడిగెను.

5. "So he summoned each one of his master's debtors. 'How much do you owe my master?' he asked the first one.

6. వాడు నూరు మణుగుల నూనె అని చెప్పగా నీవు నీ చీటి తీసి కొని త్వరగా కూర్చుండి యేబది మణుగులని వ్రాసి కొమ్మని వానితో చెప్పెను.

6. " 'A hundred measures of oil,' he said. " 'Take your invoice,' he told him, 'sit down quickly, and write 50.'

7. తరువాత వాడు నీవు ఎంత అచ్చియున్నావని మరియొకని నడుగగా వాడు నూరు తూముల గోధుమలని చెప్పినప్పుడు. వానితోనీవు నీ చీటి తీసికొని యెనుబది తూములని వ్రాసికొమ్మని చెప్పెను.

7. "Next he asked another, 'How much do you owe?' " 'A hundred measures of wheat,' he said. " 'Take your invoice,' he told him, 'and write 80.'

8. అన్యాయస్థుడైన ఆ గృహనిర్వాహకుడు యుక్తిగా నడుచుకొనెనని వాని యజమానుడు వాని మెచ్చుకొనెను. వెలుగు సంబంధుల కంటె ఈ లోక సంబంధులు తమ తరమునుబట్టి చూడగా పరులై యున్నారు

8. "The master praised the unrighteous manager because he had acted astutely. For the sons of this age are more astute than the sons of light [in dealing] with their own people.

9. అన్యాయపు సిరివలన మీకు స్నేహితులను సంపాదించుకొనుడి; ఎందుకనగా ఆ సిరి మిమ్మును వదిలి పోవునప్పుడు వారు నిత్యమైన నివాసములలో మిమ్మును చేర్చుకొందురని మీతో చెప్పుచున్నాను.

9. And I tell you, make friends for yourselves by means of the unrighteous money so that when it fails, they may welcome you into eternal dwellings.

10. మిక్కిలి కొంచెములో నమ్మకముగా ఉండువాడు ఎక్కువలోను నమ్మకముగా ఉండును; మిక్కిలి కొంచెములో అన్యాయముగా ఉండువాడు ఎక్కువలోను అన్యాయముగా ఉండును.

10. Whoever is faithful in very little is also faithful in much, and whoever is unrighteous in very little is also unrighteous in much.

11. కాబట్టి మీరు అన్యాయపు సిరి విషయములో నమ్మకముగా ఉండనియెడల సత్యమైన ధనమును ఎవరు మీ వశము చేయును?

11. So if you have not been faithful with the unrighteous money, who will trust you with what is genuine?

12. మీరు పరుల సొమ్ము విష యములో నమ్మకముగా ఉండనియెడల మీ సొంతమైనది మీకు ఎవడిచ్చును?

12. And if you have not been faithful with what belongs to someone else, who will give you what is your own?

13. ఏ సేవకుడును ఇద్దరు యజమానులను సేవింపలేడు; వాడు ఒకని ద్వేషించి ఒకని ప్రేమిం చును, లేక ఒకని అనుసరించి ఒకని తృణీకరించును; మీరు దేవునిని సిరిని సేవింప లేరని చెప్పెను.

13. No household slave can be the slave of two masters, since either he will hate one and love the other, or he will be devoted to one and despise the other. You can't be slaves to both God and money."

14. ధనాపేక్షగల పరిసయ్యులు ఈ మాటలన్నియు విని ఆయనను అపహసించుచుండగా

14. The Pharisees, who were lovers of money, were listening to all these things and scoffing at Him.

15. ఆయన మీరు మనుష్యులయెదుట నీతిమంతులని అనిపించుకొనువారు గాని దేవుడు మీ హృదయములను ఎరుగును. మనుష్యులలో ఘనముగా ఎంచబడునది దేవుని దృష్టికి అసహ్యము.

15. And He told them: "You are the ones who justify yourselves in the sight of others, but God knows your hearts. For what is highly admired by people is revolting in God's sight.

16. యోహాను కాలమువరకు ధర్మశాస్త్ర మును ప్రవక్తలును ఉండిరి; అప్పటినుండి దేవుని రాజ్య సువార్త ప్రకటింప బడుచున్నది; ప్రతివాడును ఆ రాజ్యములో బలవంతముగా జొరబడుచున్నాడు

16. "The Law and the Prophets were until John; since then, the good news of the kingdom of God has been proclaimed, and everyone is strongly urged to enter it.

17. ధర్మశాస్త్రములో ఒక పొల్లయిన తప్పి పోవుటకంటె ఆకాశమును భూమియు గతించిపోవుట సులభము.

17. But it is easier for heaven and earth to pass away than for one stroke of a letter in the law to drop out.

18. తన భార్యను విడనాడి, మరియొకతెను వివాహము చేసికొను ప్రతివాడు వ్యభిచ రించుచున్నాడు; భర్తను విడిచినదానిని వివాహము చేసి కొనువాడు వ్యభిచరించుచున్నాడు.

18. "Everyone who divorces his wife and marries another woman commits adultery, and everyone who marries a woman divorced from her husband commits adultery.

19. ధనవంతుడొకడుండెను. అతడు ఊదారంగు బట్టలును సన్నపు నార వస్త్రములును ధరించుకొని ప్రతి దినము బహుగా సుఖపడుచుండువాడు.

19. "There was a rich man who would dress in purple and fine linen, feasting lavishly every day.

20. లాజరు అను ఒక దరిద్రుడుండెను. వాడు కురుపులతో నిండినవాడై ధనవంతుని యింటి వాకిట పడియుండి

20. But a poor man named Lazarus, covered with sores, was left at his gate.

21. అతని బల్లమీద నుండి పడు రొట్టెముక్కలతో ఆకలి తీర్చుకొన గోరెను; అంతేకాక కుక్కలు వచ్చి వాని కురుపులు నాకెను.

21. He longed to be filled with what fell from the rich man's table, but instead the dogs would come and lick his sores.

22. ఆ దరిద్రుడు చనిపోయి దేవదూతలచేత అబ్రాహాము రొమ్మున (ఆనుకొనుటకు) కొనిపోబడెను. ధనవంతుడు కూడ చనిపోయి పాతిపెట్టబడెను.

22. One day the poor man died and was carried away by the angels to Abraham's side. The rich man also died and was buried.

23. అప్పుడతడు పాతాళములో బాధపడుచు, కన్నులెత్తి దూరమునుండి అబ్రా హామును అతని రొమ్మున (ఆనుకొనియున్న) లాజరును చూచి

23. And being in torment in Hades, he looked up and saw Abraham a long way off, with Lazarus at his side.

24. తండ్రివైన అబ్రాహామా, నాయందు కనికరపడి, తన వ్రేలికొనను-నీళ్లలోముంచి నా నాలుకను చల్లార్చుటకు లాజరును పంపుము; నేను ఈ అగ్నిజ్వాలలో యాతనపడుచున్నానని కేకలువేసి చెప్పెను.

24. 'Father Abraham!' he called out, 'Have mercy on me and send Lazarus to dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue, because I am in agony in this flame!'

25. అందుకు అబ్రాహాము-కుమారుడా, నీవు నీ జీవితకాలమందు నీకిష్టమైనట్టు సుఖము అనుభవించితివి, ఆలాగుననే లాజరు కష్టము అనుభవించెనని జ్ఞాపకము చేసికొనుము; ఇప్పుడైతే వాడు ఇక్కడ నెమ్మది పొందుచున్నాడు, నీవు యాతన పడుచున్నావు.

25. " 'Son,' Abraham said, 'remember that during your life you received your good things, just as Lazarus received bad things, but now he is comforted here, while you are in agony.

26. అంతేకాక ఇక్కడనుండి మీ యొద్దకు దాట గోరువారు దాటి పోజాలకుండునట్లును, అక్కడి వారు మాయొద్దకు దాటి రాజాలకుండునట్లును, మాకును మీకును మధ్య మహా అగాధముంచబడియున్నదని చెప్పెను.

26. Besides all this, a great chasm has been fixed between us and you, so that those who want to pass over from here to you cannot; neither can those from there cross over to us.'

27. అప్పుడతడు తండ్రీ, ఆలాగైతే నా కయిదుగురు సహోదరులున్నారు.

27. " 'Father,' he said, 'then I beg you to send him to my father's house--

28. వారును ఈ వేదనకరమైన స్థలమునకు రాకుండ వారికి సాక్ష్యమిచ్చుటకై నా తండ్రి యింటికి వాని పంపవలెనని నిన్ను వేడుకొనుచున్నాననెను.

28. because I have five brothers-- to warn them, so they won't also come to this place of torment.'

29. అందుకు అబ్రాహాము -వారియొద్ద మోషేయు ప్రవక్తలును ఉన్నారు; వారి మాటలు వినవలెనని అతనితో చెప్పగా

29. "But Abraham said, 'They have Moses and the prophets; they should listen to them.'

30. అతడు తండ్రివైన అబ్రాహామా, ఆలాగు అనవద్దు; మృతులలోనుండి ఒకడు వారియొద్దకు వెళ్లిన యెడల వారు మారుమనస్సు పొందుదురని చెప్పెను.

30. " 'No, father Abraham,' he said. 'But if someone from the dead goes to them, they will repent.'

31. అందుకతడు మోషేయు ప్రవక్తలును (చెప్పిన మాటలు) వారు విననియెడల మృతులలో నుండి ఒకడు లేచినను వారు నమ్మరని అతనితో చెప్పెననెను.

31. "But he told him, 'If they don't listen to Moses and the prophets, they will not be persuaded if someone rises from the dead.'"
