1. అంతలో ఒకనినొకడు త్రొక్కుకొనునట్లు వేల కొలది జనులు కూడినప్పుడు ఆయన తన శిష్యులతో మొదట ఇట్లని చెప్పసాగెను పరిసయ్యుల వేషధారణ అను పులిసిన పిండినిగూర్చి జాగ్రత్తపడుడి.

1. Many thousands of people came together. There were so many people that they were stepping on each other. Before Jesus spoke to the people, he said to his followers, 'Be careful of the yeast of the Pharisees. I mean that they are hypocrites.

2. Everything that is hidden will be shown, and everything that is secret will be made known.

3. What you say in the dark will be told in the light. And what you whisper in a private room will be shouted from the top of the house.'

4. Then Jesus said to the people, 'I tell you, my friends, don't be afraid of people. They can kill the body, but after that they can do nothing more to hurt you.

6. 'When birds are sold, five small birds cost only two pennies. But God does not forget any of them.

7. Yes, God even knows how many hairs you have on your head. Don't be afraid. You are worth much more than many birds.

10. మనుష్యకుమారునిమీద వ్యతిరేకముగా ఒక మాట పలుకువానికి పాపక్షమాపణ కలుగునుగాని, పరిశుద్ధాత్మను దూషించువానికి క్షమాపణ లేదు.

10. Whoever says something against the Son of Man can be forgiven. But whoever speaks against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven.

11. When men bring you into the synagogues before the leaders and other important men, don't worry about what you will say.

12. The Holy Spirit will teach you at that time what you should say.'

13. One of the men in the crowd said to Jesus, 'Teacher, our father just died and left some things for us. Tell my brother to share them with me.'

14. But Jesus said to him, 'Who said I should be your judge or decide how to divide your father's things between you two?'

16. Then Jesus used this story: 'There was a rich man who had some land. His land grew a very good crop of food.

17. He thought to himself, 'What will I do? I have no place to keep all my crops.'

18. నా కొట్లు విప్పి, వాటికంటె గొప్పవాటిని కట్టించి, అందులో నా ధాన్యమంతటిని, నా ఆస్తిని సమకూర్చుకొని

18. 'Then he said, 'I know what I will do. I will tear down my barns and build bigger barns! I will put all my wheat and good things together in my new barns.

19. నా ప్రాణముతోప్రాణమా, అనేక సంవత్సరములకు, విస్తార మైన ఆస్తి నీకు సమకూర్చబడియున్నది; సుఖించుము, తినుము, త్రాగుము, సంతోషించుమని చెప్పు కొందునను కొనెను.

19. Then I can say to myself, I have many good things stored. I have saved enough for many years. Rest, eat, drink, and enjoy life!'

20. అయితే దేవుడు వెఱ్ఱివాడా, యీ రాత్రి నీ ప్రాణము నడుగుచున్నారు; నీవు సిద్ధపరచినవి ఎవని వగునని ఆతనితో చెప్పెను.

20. 'But God said to that man, 'Foolish man! Tonight you will die. So what about the things you prepared for yourself? Who will get those things now?'

21. దేవుని యెడల ధనవంతుడు కాక తనకొరకే సమకూర్చుకొనువాడు ఆలాగుననే యుండునని చెప్పెను.

21. 'This is how it will be for anyone who saves things only for himself. To God that person is not rich.'

22. అంతట ఆయన తన శిష్యులతో ఇట్లనెను–ఈ హేతువుచేత మీరు – ఏమి తిందుమో, అని మీ ప్రాణమునుగూర్చియైనను, ఏమి ధరించుకొందుమో, అని మీ దేహమునుగూర్చియైనను చింతింపకుడి.

22. Jesus said to his followers, 'So I tell you, don't worry about the things you need to live�what you will eat or what you will wear.

23. ఆహారముకంటె ప్రాణమును వస్త్రముకంటె దేహమును గొప్పవి కావా?

23. Life is more important than food, and the body is more important than what you put on it.

24. కాకుల సంగతి విచారించి చూడుడి. అవి విత్తవు, కోయవు, వాటికి గరిసెలేదు, కొట్టులేదు; అయినను దేవుడు వాటిని పోషించుచున్నాడు; మీరు పక్షులకంటె ఎంతో శ్రేష్ఠులు.

24. Look at the birds. They don't plant, harvest, or save food in houses or barns, but God feeds them. And you are worth much more than crows.

25. None of you can add any time to your life by worrying about it.

26. And if you can't do the little things, why worry about the big things?

27. Think about how the wildflowers grow. They don't work or make clothes for themselves. But I tell you that even Solomon, the great and rich king, was not dressed as beautifully as one of these flowers.

28. If God makes what grows in the field so beautiful, what do you think he will do for you? That's just grass�one day it's alive, and the next day someone throws it into a fire. But God cares enough to make it beautiful. Surely he will do much more for you. Your faith is so small!

29. 'So don't always think about what you will eat or what you will drink. Don't worry about it.

30. ఈ లోకపు జనులు వీటినన్నిటిని వెదకుదురు; ఇవి మీకు కావలసియున్నవని మీ తండ్రికి తెలియును.

30. That's what all those people who don't know God are always thinking about. But your Father knows that you need these things.

31. మీరైతే ఆయన రాజ్యమును వెదకుడి, దానితో కూడ ఇవి మీ కనుగ్రహింపబడును.

31. What you should be thinking about is God's kingdom. Then he will give you all these other things you need.

32. చిన్న మందా భయపడకుడి, మీకు రాజ్యము అనుగ్రహించుటకు మీ తండ్రికి ఇష్టమైయున్నది

32. 'Don't fear, little flock. Your Father wants to share his kingdom with you.

33. మీకు కలిగినవాటిని అమ్మి ధర్మము చేయుడి, పాతగిలని సంచులను పరలోకమందు అక్షయమైన ధనమును సంపాదించుకొనుడి; అక్కడికి దొంగరాడు, చిమ్మెటకొట్టదు

33. Sell the things you have and give that money to those who need it. This is the only way you can keep your riches from being lost. You will be storing treasure in heaven that lasts forever. Thieves can't steal that treasure, and moths can't destroy it.

34. మీ ధనమెక్కడ ఉండునో అక్కడనే మీ హృదయము ఉండును.

34. Your heart will be where your treasure is.

35. 'Be ready! Be fully dressed and have your lights shining.

36. తమ ప్రభువు పెండ్లివిందునుండి వచ్చి తట్టగానే అతనికి తలుపుతీయుటకు అతడెప్పుడు వచ్చునో అని అతనికొరకు ఎదురు చూచు మనుష్యులవలె ఉండుడి.

36. Be like servants who are waiting for their master to come home from a wedding party. The master comes and knocks, and the servants immediately open the door for him.

37. ప్రభువు వచ్చి యే దాసులు మెలకువగా ఉండుట కనుగొనునో ఆ దాసులు ధన్యులు; అతడు నడుము కట్టుకొని వారిని భోజన పంక్తిని కూర్చుండబెట్టి, తానే వచ్చి వారికి ఉపచారము చేయునని మీతో నిశ్చయముగా చెప్పుచున్నాను.

37. When their master sees that they are ready and waiting for him, it will be a great day for those servants. I can tell you without a doubt, the master will get himself ready to serve a meal and tell the servants to sit down. Then he will serve them.

38. Those servants might have to wait until midnight or later for their master. But they will be glad they did when he comes in and finds them still waiting.

40. So you also must be ready, because the Son of Man will come at a time when you don't expect him!'

41. అప్పుడు పేతురు ప్రభువా, యీ ఉపమానము మాతోనే చెప్పుచున్నావా అందరితోను చెప్పుచు న్నావా? అని ఆయన నడుగగా

41. Peter said, 'Lord, did you tell this story for us or for all people?'

42. ప్రభువు ఇట్లనెను తగిన కాలమున ప్రతివానికి ఆహారము పెట్టుటకు, యజమానుడు తన యింటివారిమీద నియమించునట్టి నమ్మకమైన బుద్ధిగల గృహనిర్వాహకుడెవడు?

42. The Lord said, 'Who is the wise and trusted servant? The master trusts one servant to give the other servants their food at the right time. Who is the servant that the master trusts to do that work?

43. ఎవని ప్రభువు వచ్చి, వాడు ఆలాగు చేయుచుండుట కనుగొనునో ఆ దాసుడు ధన్యుడు.

43. When the master comes and finds him doing the work he gave him, what a great day it will be for that servant!

44. అతడు తనకు కలిగినదాని యంతటిమీద వాని ఉంచునని మీతో నిజముగా చెప్పుచున్నాను.

44. I can tell you without a doubt, the master will choose that servant to take care of everything he owns.

45. అయితే ఆ దాసుడు నా యజమానుడు వచ్చుట కాలస్యము చేయుచున్నాడని తన మనస్సులో అనుకొని, దాసులను దాసీలనుకొట్టి, తిని త్రాగిమత్తుగా ఉండసాగితే

45. 'But what will happen if that servant is evil and thinks his master will not come back soon? He will begin to beat the other servants, men and women. He will eat and drink until he has had too much.

46. వాడు కనిపెట్టని దినములోను ఎరుగని గడియలోను ఆ దాసుని యజమానుడు వచ్చి వాని నరికించి, అపనమ్మకస్థులతో వానికి పాలు నియమించును.

46. Then the master will come when the servant is not ready, at a time when the servant is not expecting him. Then the master will punish that servant and send him away to be with the other people who don't obey.

47. తన యజమానుని చిత్త మెరిగి యుండియు సిద్ధపడక, అతని చిత్తముచొప్పున జరిగింపక ఉండు దాసునికి అనేకమైన దెబ్బలు తగులును.

47. 'That servant knew what his master wanted him to do. But he did not make himself ready or try to do what his master wanted. So that servant will be punished very much!

48. అయితే తెలియక దెబ్బలకు తగిన పనులు చేసినవానికి కొద్ది దెబ్బలే తగులును. ఎవనికి ఎక్కువగా ఇయ్య బడెనో వానియొద్ద ఎక్కువగా తీయజూతురు; మనుష్యులు ఎవనికి ఎక్కువగా అప్పగింతురో వాని యొద్ద ఎక్కువగా అడుగుదురు.

48. But what about the servant who does not know what his master wants? He also does things that deserve punishment. But he will get less punishment than the servant who knew what he should do. Whoever has been given much will be responsible for much. Much more will be expected from the one who has been given more.'

49. నేను భూమిమీద అగ్నివేయ వచ్చితిని; అది ఇదివరకే రగులుకొని మండవలెనని యెంతో కోరుచున్నాను.

49. Jesus continued speaking: 'I came to bring fire to the world. I wish it were already burning!

50. అయితే నేను పొందవలసిన బాప్తిస్మమున్నది, అది నెరవేరు వరకు నేనెంతో ఇబ్బందిపడుచున్నాను.

50. There is a kind of baptism that I must suffer through. I feel very troubled until it is finished.

51. నేను భూమి మీద సమాధానము కలుగజేయ వచ్చి తినని మీరు తలంచు చున్నారా? కాదు; భేదమునే కలుగ జేయవచ్చితినని మీతో చెప్పుచున్నాను.

51. Do you think I came to give peace to the world? No, I came to divide the world!

52. ఇప్పుటినుండి ఒక ఇంటిలో అయిదుగురు వేరుపడి, ఇద్దరికి విరోధ ముగా ముగ్గురును, ముగ్గురికి విరోధముగా యిద్దరును ఉందురు.

52. From now on, a family of five will be divided, three against two, and two against three.

53. తండ్రి కుమారునికిని, కుమారుడు తండ్రికిని, తల్లి కుమార్తెకును, కుమార్తె తల్లికిని, అత్త కోడలికిని, కోడలు అత్తకును విరోధులుగా ఉందురని చెప్పెను.

53. A father and son will be divided: The son will turn against his father. The father will turn against his son. A mother and her daughter will be divided: The daughter will turn against her mother. The mother will turn against her daughter. A mother-in-law and her daughter-in-law will be divided: The daughter-in-law will turn against her mother-in-law. The mother-in-law will turn against her daughter-in-law.'

54. Then Jesus said to the people, 'When you see clouds growing bigger in the west, you say, 'A rainstorm is coming.' And soon it begins to rain.

55. దక్షిణపు గాలి విసరుట చూచునప్పుడు వడగాలి కొట్టునని చెప్పుదురు; ఆలాగే జరుగును.

55. When you feel the wind begin to blow from the south, you say, 'It will be a hot day.' And you are right.

56. వేషధారులారా, మీరు భూమ్యాకాశముల వైఖరి గుర్తింప నెరుగుదురు; ఈ కాలమును మీరు గుర్తింప నెరుగరేల?

56. You hypocrites! You can understand the weather. Why don't you understand what is happening now?

57. ఏది న్యాయమో మీ అంతట మీరు విమర్శింపరేల?

57. Why can't you decide for yourselves what is right?

58. వాదించువానితో కూడ అధికారియొద్దకు నీవు వెళ్లుచుండగా అతని చేతినుండి తప్పించుకొనుటకు త్రోవలోనే ప్రయత్నము చేయుము, లేదా, అతడొకవేళ నిన్ను న్యాయాధిపతియొద్దకు ఈడ్చుకొని పోవును, న్యాయాధిపతి నిన్ను బంట్రౌతునకు అప్పగించును, బంట్రౌతు నిన్ను చెరసాలలో వేయును.

58. Suppose someone is suing you, and you are both going to court. Try hard to settle it on the way. If you don't settle it, you may have to go before the judge. And the judge will hand you over to the officer, who will throw you into jail.

59. I tell you, you will not get out of there until you have paid every cent you owe.'
