1. అప్పుడు యేసు జనసమూహములతోను తన శిష్యులతోను ఇట్లనెను

1. Then spake Jesus to the people, and to his disciples,

2. శాస్త్రులును పరిసయ్యులును మోషే పీఠమందు కూర్చుండువారు

2. saying: The scribes and the pharisees sit in Moses' seat,

3. గనుక వారు మీతో చెప్పువాటి నన్నిటిని అనుసరించిగై కొనుడి, అయినను వారి క్రియలచొప్పున చేయకుడి; వారు చెప్పుదురే గాని చేయరు.
మలాకీ 2:7-8

3. (All therefore) whatsoever they bid you observe, that observe and do: but after their works do not: for they say, and do not.

4. మోయ శక్యముకాని భారమైన బరువులు కట్టి మనుష్యుల భుజములమీద వారు పెట్టుదురేగాని తమ వ్రేలితోనైన వాటిని కదలింపనొల్లరు.

4. Yea and they bind heavy burdens and grievous to be borne,(intollerable burthens) and lay them on men's shoulders: but they themselves will not heave (at) them with one (of their) finger.(fingers)

5. మనుష్యులకు కనబడునిమిత్తము తమ పనులన్నియు చేయుదురు; తమ రక్షరేకులు వెడల్పుగాను తమ చెంగులు పెద్దవిగాను చేయుదురు;

5. All their works they do, for to be seen of men. They set abroad their phylacteries, and make large borders on their garments,

6. విందులలో అగ్రస్థానములను సమాజ మందిరములలో అగ్రపీఠములను

6. and love to sit uppermost at feasts, and to have the chief seats in the synagogues,

7. సంత వీధులలో వందన ములను మనుష్యులచేత బోధకులని పిలువబడుటయు కోరుదురు.

7. and greetings(love to be saluted) in the markets and to be called of men Rabbi.

8. మీరైతే బోధకులని పిలువబడవద్దు, ఒక్కడే మీ బోధకుడు, మీరందరు సహోదరులు.

8. But ye shall not suffer yourselves to be called Rabbi, for one is your master, that is to wit Christ, and all ye are brethren.

9. మరియు భూమిమీద ఎవనికైనను తండ్రి అని పేరుపెట్టవద్దు; ఒక్కడే మీ తండ్రి; ఆయన పరలోకమందున్నాడు.

9. And call ye no man your father upon the earth, for one is(for there is but one) your father, and he is in heaven.

10. మరియు మీరు గురువులని పిలువబడవద్దు; క్రీస్తుఒక్కడే మీ గురువు.

10. Be not called masters, for one is(for there is but one) your master, and he is Christ.

11. మీలో అందరికంటె గొప్పవాడు మీకు పరిచారకుడై యుండవలెను.

11. He that is greatest among you, shall be your servant.

12. తన్నుతాను హెచ్చించు కొనువాడు తగ్గింపబడును; తన్నుతాను తగ్గించుకొనువాడు హెచ్చింపబడును.

12. But whosoever exalteth himself, shall be brought low. And he that submiteth(humbleth) himself, shall be exalted.

13. అయ్యో, వేషధారులైన శాస్త్రులారా, పరిసయ్యు లారా, మీరు మనుష్యులయెదుట పరలోకరాజ్యమును మూయుదురు;

13. Woe be unto you scribes and pharisees dissemblers,(hypocrites) for ye shut up the kingdom of heaven before men: ye yourselves go not in, neither suffer ye them that come to enter in.

14. మీరందులో ప్రవేశింపరు, ప్రవేశించు వారిని ప్రవేశింపనియ్యరు.

14. Woe be unto you scribes and pharisees, for ye devour widows' houses, and that under a colour of praying long prayers, wherefore ye shall receive greater damnation.

15. అయ్యో, వేషధారులైన శాస్త్రులారా, పరిసయ్యులారా, ఒకని మీ మతములో కలుపుకొనుటకు మీరు సముద్ర మును భూమిని చుట్టివచ్చెదరు; అతడు కలిసినప్పుడు అతని మీకంటె రెండంతలు నరకపాత్రునిగా చేయుదురు.

15. Woe be unto you scribes and pharisees hypocrites, for ye(which) compass sea and land, to bring one into your belief:(make one Proselyte) and when ye have brought him(he is brought) ye make him two fold more the child of hell, than ye yourselves are.

16. అయ్యో, అంధులైన మార్గదర్శకులారా, ఒకడు దేవాలయముతోడని ఒట్టుపెట్టుకొంటె అందులో ఏమియు లేదు గాని దేవాలయములోని బంగారముతోడని ఒట్టు పెట్టుకొంటె వాడు దానికి బద్ధుడని మీరు చెప్పుదురు.

16. Woe be unto you blind guides, for ye(which) say: whosoever swear by the temple, it is nothing: but whosoever swear by the gold of the temple, he is debtor.(he offendeth,)(is guilty)

17. అవివేకులారా, అంధులారా, ఏది గొప్పది? బంగారమా, బంగారమును పరిశుద్ధపరచు దేవాలయమా?

17. Ye fools and blind? whether is greater, the gold, or the temple that sanctifieth the gold.

18. మరియుబలిపీఠముతోడని యొకడు ఒట్టుపెట్టుకొంటె, అందులో ఏమియు లేదు గాని, దాని పైనుండు అర్పణముతోడని ఒట్టుపెట్టుకొంటె దానికి బద్ధుడని మీరు చెప్పుదురు.

18. And whosoever sweareth by the altar it is nothing: but whosoever sweareth by the offering that lieth on the altar is debtor.(offendeth,)(guilty)

19. అవివేకులారా, అంధులారా, ఏది గొప్పది? అర్పణమా, అర్పణమును పరిశుద్ధపరచు బలిపీఠమా?

19. Ye fools and blind: whether is greater the offering, or the altar which sanctifieth the offering?

20. బలిపీఠముతోడని ఒట్టుపెట్టు కొనువాడు, దాని తోడనియు దాని పైనుండు వాటన్నిటితోడనియు ఒట్టుపెట్టుకొనుచున్నాడు.

20. whosoever therefore sweareth by the altar, sweareth by it, and by all that thereon is.

21. మరియు దేవాలయము తోడని ఒట్టుపెట్టుకొనువాడు, దాని తోడనియు అందులో నివసించువాని తోడనియు ఒట్టుపెట్టుకొనుచున్నాడు.

21. And whosoever sweareth by the temple sweareth by it, and by him that dwelleth therein.

22. మరియు ఆకాశముతోడని ఒట్టుపెట్టుకొనువాడు దేవుని సింహాసనము తోడనియు దానిపైని కూర్చున్నవాని తోడనియు ఒట్టుపెట్టుకొను చున్నాడు.

22. And he that sweareth by heaven, sweareth by the seat of God, and by him that sitteth thereon.

23. అయ్యో, వేషధారులైన శాస్త్రులారా, పరిసయ్యులారా, మీరు పుదీనాలోను సోపులోను జీలకఱ్ఱలోను పదియవ వంతు చెల్లించి, ధర్మశాస్త్రములో ప్రధానమైన విషయములను, అనగా న్యాయమును కనికరమును విశ్వాసమును విడిచిపెట్టితిరి; వాటిని మానక వీటిని చేయవలసి యుండెను.

23. Woe be to you scribes and pharisees dissemblers,(hypocrites) for ye(which) tithe mint, anise, and cummin, and leave the weightier matters of the law undone:(behind: namely) judgement, mercy, and faith: these ought ye to have done, and not to have left the other undone.(behind)

24. అంధులైన మార్గదర్శకులారా, దోమలేకుండు నట్లు వడియగట్టి ఒంటెను మింగువారు మీరే.

24. Ye blind guides, which strain out a gnat, and swallow a camel.

25. అయ్యో, వేషధారులైన శాస్త్రులారా, పరిసయ్యు లారా, మీరు గిన్నెయు పళ్లెమును వెలుపట శుద్ధిచేయు దురు గాని అవి లోపల దోపుతోను అజితేంద్రియత్వము తోను నిండియున్నవి.

25. Woe be to you scribes and pharisees hypocrites, for ye(which) make clean the outer side of the cup, and of the platter: but within they are full of bribery(robbery) and excess.

26. గ్రుడ్డిపరిసయ్యుడా, గిన్నెయు పళ్లెమును వెలుపల శుద్ధియగునట్టుగా ముందు వాటిలోపల శుద్ధిచేయుము.

26. Thou blind pharisee, cleanse first, that which is within(the inside of) the cup and the platter, that the outside (of them) may also be clean.

27. అయ్యో, వేషధారులైన శాస్త్రులారా, పరిసయ్యులారా, మీరు సున్నముకొట్టిన సమాధులను పోలి యున్నారు. అవి వెలుపల శృంగారముగా అగపడును గాని లోపల చచ్చినవారి యెముకలతోను సమస్త కల్మషముతోను నిండియున్నవి.

27. Woe be to you scribes, and pharisees hypocrites, for ye are like unto painted tombs(Sepulcres) which appear beautiful outwards: but are within full of dead men's bones and of all filthiness.

28. ఆలాగే మీరు వెలుపల మనుష్యు లకు నీతిమంతులుగా నగపడుచున్నారు గాని, లోపల వేషధారణతోను అక్రమముతోను నిండి యున్నారు.

28. So are ye, for outward ye appear righteous unto men, when within ye are full of dissimulation(hypocrisy) and iniquity.

29. అయ్యో, వేషధారులైన శాస్త్రులారా, పరిసయ్యులారా, మీరు ప్రవక్తల సమాధులను కట్టించుచు, నీతి మంతుల గోరీలను శృంగారించుచు

29. Woe be unto you scribes and pharisees hypocrites, for ye build the tombs of the prophets, and garnish the sepulchers of just men,(righteous)

30. మనము మన పితరుల దినములలో ఉండినయెడల ప్రవక్తల మరణ విషయములో వారితో పాలివారమై యుండక పోదుమని చెప్పుకొందురు.

30. and say: If we had been in our fathers' time,(the days of our fathers) we would not have been partners with them in the blood of the prophets.

31. అందువలననే మీరు ప్రవక్తలను చంపినవారి కుమారులై యున్నారని మీ మీద మీరే సాక్ష్యము చెప్పుకొనుచున్నారు.

31. So are(then) ye be witnesses unto yourselves, that ye are the children of them, which killed the prophets.

32. మీరును మీ పితరుల పరిమాణము పూర్తి చేయుడి.

32. Fulfil ye likewise the measure of your fathers:

33. సర్పములారా, సర్పసంతానమా, నరకశిక్షను మీ రేలాగు తప్పించుకొందురు?

33. ye(yee) serpents and generation of vipers, how shall(should) ye scape the damnation of hell?

34. అందుచేత ఇదిగో నేను మీ యొద్దకు ప్రవక్తలను జ్ఞానులను శాస్త్రులను పంపుచున్నాను; మీరు వారిలో కొందరిని చంపి సిలువవేయుదురు, కొందరిని మీ సమాజమందిరములలో కొరడాలతొ కొట్టి, పట్టణమునుండి పట్టణమునకు తరుముదురు.

34. Wherefore behold I send unto you, prophets wise men and scribes, and of them some shall ye kill and crucify, and some(of them) shall ye scourge in your synagogues, and persecute from city to city,

35. నీతిమంతు డైన హేబెలు రక్తము మొదలుకొని బలిపీఠమునకును, దేవా లయమునకును మధ్య మీరు చంపిన బరకీయ కుమారుడగు జెకర్యా రక్తమువరకు భూమిమీద చిందింపబడిన నీతి మంతుల రక్తమంతయు మీ మీదికి వచ్చును.

35. that all righteous blood may fall upon you, which(upon you may come all the righteous blood that) was shed upon the earth, from the blood of righteous Abel, unto the blood of Zacharias the son of Barachias, whom ye slew between the temple and the altar:

36. ఇవన్నియు ఈ తరమువారిమీదికి వచ్చునని మీతో నిశ్చయముగా చెప్పుచున్నాను.

36. Verily I say unto you, all these things shall light upon this generation.

37. యెరూషలేమా, యెరూషలేమా, ప్రవక్తలను చంపుచును నీయొద్దకు పంపబడినవారిని రాళ్లతో కొట్టుచును ఉండు దానా, కోడి తన పిల్లలను రెక్కలక్రింది కేలాగు చేర్చు కొనునో ఆలాగే నేనును నీ పిల్లలను ఎన్నోమారులు చేర్చు కొనవలెనని యుంటిని గాని మీరు ఒల్లకపోతిరి.

37. Hierusalem, Hierusalem which killest prophets, and stonest them which are sent to thee: how often would I have gathered thy children together,(togedder) as the hen gathereth her chickens under her wings? but ye would not?

38. ఇదిగో మీ యిల్లు మీకు విడువబడియున్నది

38. Behold your habitation shall be left unto you desolate.

39. ఇదిమొదలుకొని ప్రభువు పేరట వచ్చువాడు స్తుతింపబడుగాకని మీరు చెప్పు వరకు నన్ను చూడరని మీతో చెప్పుచున్నాను.

39. For I say unto you, ye shall not see me henceforth, till that ye say: blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord.
