1. ఆ సమయమున యెరూషలేమునుండి శాస్త్రులును పరిసయ్యులును యేసునొద్దకు వచ్చి

1. THEN FROM Jerusalem came scribes and Pharisees and said,

2. నీ శిష్యులు చేతులు కడుగుకొనకుండ భోజనము చేయుచున్నారే, వారెందు నిమిత్తము పెద్దల పారంపర్యాచారమును అతిక్రమించు చున్నారని అడిగిరి

2. Why do Your disciples transgress and violate the rules handed down by the elders of the past? For they do not practice [ceremonially] washing their hands before they eat.

3. అందుకాయన మీరును మీపారం పర్యాచారము నిమిత్తమై దేవుని ఆజ్ఞను ఎందుకు అతిక్ర మించుచున్నారు?

3. He replied to them, And why also do you transgress and violate the commandment of God for the sake of the rules handed down to you by your forefathers (the elders)?

4. తలిదండ్రులను ఘనపరచుమనియు, తండ్రినైనను తల్లినైనను దూషించువాడు తప్పక మరణము పొందవలెననియు దేవుడు సెలచిచ్చెను.

4. For God commanded, Honor your father and your mother, and, He who curses or reviles or speaks evil of or abuses or treats improperly his father or mother, let him surely come to his end by death. [Exod. 20:12; 21:17; Lev. 20:9; Deut. 5:16.]

5. మీరైతే ఒకడు తన తండ్రినైనను తల్లినైనను చూచి నావలన నీకేది ప్రయోజనమగునో అది దేవార్పితమని చెప్పిన యెడల అతడు తన తండ్రినైనను తల్లినైనను ఘనపరచనక్కరలేదని చెప్పుచున్నారు.

5. But you say, If anyone tells his father or mother, What you would have gained from me [that is, the money and whatever I have that might be used for helping you] is already dedicated as a gift to God, then he is exempt and no longer under obligation to honor and help his father or his mother.

6. మీరు మీ పారంపర్యాచారము నిమిత్తమై దేవుని వాక్యమును నిరర్థకము చేయుచున్నారు.

6. So for the sake of your tradition (the rules handed down by your forefathers), you have set aside the Word of God [depriving it of force and authority and making it of no effect].

7. వేషధారులారా

7. You pretenders (hypocrites)! Admirably and truly did Isaiah prophesy of you when he said:

8. ఈ ప్రజలు తమ పెదవులతో నన్ను ఘనపరచుదురు గాని వారి హృదయము నాకు దూరముగా ఉన్నది;
యెషయా 29:13

8. These people draw near Me with their mouths and honor Me with their lips, but their hearts hold off and are far away from Me.

9. మనుష్యులు కల్పించిన పద్ధతులు దైవోపదేశములని బోధించుచు వారు నన్ను వ్యర్థముగా ఆరాధించు చున్నారు అని యెషయా మిమ్మునుగూర్చి ప్రవచించిన మాట సరియే అని వారితో చెప్పి
యెషయా 29:13

9. Uselessly do they worship Me, for they teach as doctrines the commands of men. [Isa. 29:13.]

10. జనసమూహములను పిలిచి మీరు విని గ్రహించుడి;

10. And Jesus called the people to Him and said to them, Listen and grasp and comprehend this:

11. నోటపడునది మనుష్యుని అపవిత్ర పరచదు గాని నోటనుండి వచ్చున దియే మనుష్యుని అప విత్రపరచునని వారితో చెప్పెను.

11. It is not what goes into the mouth of a man that makes him unclean and defiled, but what comes out of the mouth; this makes a man unclean and defiles [him].

12. అంతట ఆయన శిష్యులు వచ్చిపరిసయ్యులు ఆ మాట విని అభ్యంతరపడిరని నీకు తెలియునా అని ఆయనను అడుగగా

12. Then the disciples came and said to Him, Do You know that the Pharisees were displeased and offended and indignant when they heard this saying?

13. ఆయన పరలోకమందున్న నా తండ్రి నాటని ప్రతి మొక్కయు పెల్లగింపబడును.

13. He answered, Every plant which My heavenly Father has not planted will be torn up by the roots. [Isa. 60:21.]

14. వారి జోలికి పోకుడి; వారు గ్రుడ్డివారైయుండి గ్రుడ్డివారికి త్రోవ చూపువారు. గ్రుడ్డివాడు గ్రుడ్డివానికి త్రోవ చూపిన యెడల వారిద్దరు గుంటలో పడుదురు గదా అనెను.

14. Let them alone and disregard them; they are blind guides and teachers. And if a blind man leads a blind man, both will fall into a ditch.

15. అందుకుపేతురు ఈ ఉపమానభావము మాకు తెలుపుమని ఆయనను అడుగగా

15. But Peter said to Him, Explain this proverb (this maxim) to us.

16. ఆయనమీరును ఇంతవరకు అవివేకులైయున్నారా?

16. And He said, Are you also even yet dull and ignorant [without understanding and unable to put things together]?

17. నోటిలోనికి పోవున దంతయు కడుపులోపడి బహిర్భూమిలో విడువబడును గాని

17. Do you not see and understand that whatever goes into the mouth passes into the abdomen and so passes on into the place where discharges are deposited?

18. నోటనుండి బయటికి వచ్చునవి హృదయములో నుండి వచ్చును; ఇవే మనుష్యుని అపవిత్రపరచునవని మీరు గ్రహింపరా?

18. But whatever comes out of the mouth comes from the heart, and this is what makes a man unclean and defiles [him].

19. దురాలోచనలు నరహత్యలు వ్యభిచారములు వేశ్యాగమనములు దొంగతనములు అబద్ధసాక్ష్య ములు దేవదూషణలు హృదయములో నుండియే వచ్చును

19. For out of the heart come evil thoughts (reasonings and disputings and designs) such as murder, adultery, sexual vice, theft, false witnessing, slander, and irreverent speech.

20. ఇవే మనుష్యుని అపవిత్రపరచును గాని చేతులు కడుగు కొనక భోజనముచేయుట మనుష్యుని అపవిత్రపరచదని చెప్పెను.

20. These are what make a man unclean and defile [him]; but eating with unwashed hands does not make him unclean or defile [him].

21. యేసు అక్కడనుండి బయలుదేరి తూరు సీదోనుల ప్రాంతములకు వెళ్లగా,

21. And going away from there, Jesus withdrew to the district of Tyre and Sidon.

22. ఇదిగో ఆ ప్రాంతములనుండి కనాను స్త్రీ యొకతె వచ్చిప్రభువా, దావీదు కుమారుడా, నన్ను కరుణింపుము; నా కుమార్తె దయ్యముపట్టి, బహు బాధపడుచున్నదని కేకలువేసెను.

22. And behold, a woman who was a Canaanite from that district came out and, with a [loud, troublesomely urgent] cry, begged, Have mercy on me, O Lord, Son of David! My daughter is miserably and distressingly and cruelly possessed by a demon!

23. అందుకాయన ఆమెతో ఒక్క మాటయైనను చెప్పలేదు. అప్పుడాయన శిష్యులు వచ్చిఈమె మన వెంబడి వచ్చి కేకలువేయు చున్నది గనుక ఈమెను పంపి వేయుమని ఆయనను వేడుకొనగా

23. But He did not answer her a word. And His disciples came and implored Him, saying, Send her away, for she is crying out after us.

24. ఆయనఇశ్రాయేలు ఇంటివారై నశించిన గొఱ్ఱెలయొద్దకే గాని మరి ఎవరియొద్దకును నేను పంపబడ లేదనెను

24. He answered, I was sent only to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.

25. అయినను ఆమె వచ్చి ఆయనకు మ్రొక్కి ప్రభువా, నాకు సహాయము చేయుమని అడిగెను.
యెహోషువ 5:14-15

25. But she came and, kneeling, worshiped Him and kept praying, Lord, help me!

26. అందుకాయనపిల్లల రొట్టెతీసికొని కుక్కపిల్లలకువేయుట యుక్తము కాదని చెప్పగా

26. And He answered, It is not right (proper, becoming, or fair) to take the children's bread and throw it to the little dogs.

27. ఆమెనిజమే ప్రభువా, కుక్కపిల్లలుకూడ తమ యజమానుల బల్లమీదనుండి పడు ముక్కలు తినును గదా అని చెప్పెను.

27. She said, Yes, Lord, yet even the little pups (little whelps) eat the crumbs that fall from their [young] masters' table.

28. అందుకు యేసు అమ్మా, నీ విశ్వాసము గొప్పది; నీవు కోరినట్టే నీకు అవునుగాక అని ఆమెతో చెప్పెను. ఆ గడియలోనే ఆమె కుమార్తె స్వస్థత నొందెను.

28. Then Jesus answered her, O woman, great is your faith! Be it done for you as you wish. And her daughter was cured from that moment.

29. యేసు అక్కడనుండి వెళ్లి, గలిలయ సముద్రతీరమునకు వచ్చి, కొండెక్కి అక్కడ కూర్చుండగా

29. And Jesus went on from there and passed along the shore of the Sea of Galilee. Then He went up into the hills and kept sitting there.

30. బహు జనసమూహములు ఆయనయొద్దకు కుంటివారు గ్రుడ్డివారు మూగవారు అంగహీనులు మొదలైన అనేకులను తీసికొనివచ్చి ఆయన పాదములయొద్ద పడవేసిరి; ఆయన వారిని స్వస్థపరచెను.

30. And a great multitude came to Him, bringing with them the lame, the maimed, the blind, the dumb, and many others, and they put them down at His feet; and He cured them,

31. మూగవారు మాటలాడు టయును అంగహీనులు బాగుపడుటయును కుంటివారు నడుచుటయును గ్రుడ్డివారు చూచుటయును జనసమూ హము చూచి ఆశ్చర్యపడి ఇశ్రాయేలు దేవుని మహిమ పరచిరి.
యెషయా 52:14

31. So that the crowd was amazed when they saw the dumb speaking, the maimed made whole, the lame walking, and the blind seeing; and they recognized and praised and thanked and glorified the God of Israel.

32. అంతట యేసు తన శిష్యులను పిలిచి ఈ జనులు నేటికి మూడు దినములనుండి నాయొద్ద నున్నారు; వారికి తిన నేమియు లేదు గనుక వారిమీద కనికరపడుచున్నాను; వారు మార్గములో మూర్ఛపోవుదురేమో అని వారిని ఉపవాసముతో పంపివేయుటకు నాకు మనస్సు లేదని వారితో చెప్పగా

32. Then Jesus called His disciples to Him and said, I have pity and sympathy and am deeply moved for the crowd, because they have been with Me now three days and they have nothing [at all left] to eat; and I am not willing to send them away hungry, lest they faint or become exhausted on the way.

33. ఆయన శిష్యులుఇంత గొప్ప జన సమూహమును తృప్తిపరచుటకు కావలసిన రొట్టెలు అరణ్యప్రదేశములో మనకు ఎక్కడనుండి వచ్చునని ఆయనతో అనిరి.

33. And the disciples said to Him, Where are we to get bread sufficient to feed so great a crowd in this isolated and desert place?

34. యేసుమీయొద్ద ఎన్ని రొట్టెలున్నవని వారి నడుగగా వారుఏడు రొట్టెలును కొన్ని చిన్న చేపలును ఉన్నవని చెప్పిరి.

34. And Jesus asked them, How many loaves of bread do you have? They replied, Seven, and a few small fish.

35. అప్పుడాయన నేలమీద కూర్చుండుడని జనసమూహమునకు ఆజ్ఞాపించి

35. And ordering the crowd to recline on the ground,

36. ఆ యేడు రొట్టెలను ఆ చేపలను పట్టుకొని కృతజ్ఞతాస్తుతులు చెల్లించి వాటిని విరిచి తన శిష్యులకిచ్చెను, శిష్యులు జన సమూహమునకు వడ్డించిరి

36. He took the seven loaves and the fish, and when He had given thanks, He broke them and gave them to the disciples, and the disciples gave them to the people.

37. వారందరు తిని తృప్తి పొందినమీదట మిగిలిన ముక్కలు ఏడు గంపల నిండ ఎత్తిరి.

37. And they all ate and were satisfied. And they gathered up seven [large provision] baskets full of the broken pieces that were left over.

38. స్త్రీలును పిల్లలును గాక తినినవారు నాలుగువేల మంది పురుషులు.

38. Those who ate were 4,000 men, not including the women and the children.

39. తరువాత ఆయన జనసమూహములను పంపివేసి, దోనెయెక్కి మగదాను ప్రాంతములకు వచ్చెను.

39. Then He dismissed the crowds, got into the boat, and went to the district of Magadan.
