1. మరియు యెహోవా మోషేతో ఇట్లనెను.

1. ADONAI said to Moshe, 'Speak to the[ cohanim], the sons of Aharon; tell them: 'No [cohen] is to make himself unclean for any of his people who dies,

2. యాజకులగు అహరోను కుమారులతో ఇట్లనుము మీలో ఎవడును తన ప్రజలలో శవమును ముట్టుటవలన తన్ను అపవిత్రపరచుకొనరాదు. అయితే తనకు సమీప రక్త సంబంధులు, అనగా తన తల్లి, తండ్రి, కుమారుడు, కుమార్తె, సహోదరుడు,

2. except for his close relatives- his mother, father, son, daughter and brother;

3. తనకు సమీపముగానున్న శుద్ధ సహోదరియగు అవివాహిత కన్యక, అను వీరియొక్క శవమునుముట్టి తన్ను అపవిత్రపరచు కొనవచ్చును.

3. he may also make himself unclean for his virgin sister who has never married and is therefore dependent on him.

4. అతడు తన ప్రజలలో యజమానుడు గనుక తన్ను అపవిత్రపరచుకొని సామాన్యునిగా చేసికొనరాదు.

4. He may not make himself unclean, because he is a leader among his people; doing so would profane him.

5. వారు తమ తలలు బోడిచేసికొనరాదు. గడ్డపు ప్రక్కలను క్షౌరము చేసికొన రాదు, కత్తితో దేహమును కోసికొనరాదు.

5. [Cohanim] are not to make bald spots on their heads, mar the edges of their beards or cut gashes in their flesh.

6. వారు తమ దేవునికి ప్రతిష్ఠితమైనవారుగా ఉండవలెను. కావున వారు తమ దేవుని నామమును అపవిత్రపరచరాదు. ఏలయనగా వారు తమ దేవునికి అహారమును, అనగా యెహోవాకు హోమద్రవ్యములను అర్పించువారు; కావున వారు పరిశుద్ధులై యుండవలెను.

6. Rather, they are to be holy for their God and not profane the name of their God. For they are the ones who present ADONAI with offerings made by fire, the bread of their God; therefore they must be holy.

7. వారు జార స్త్రీనే గాని భ్రష్టురాలినేగాని పెండ్లిచేసికొనకూడదు. పెనిమిటి విడనాడిన స్త్రీని పెండ్లి చేసికొనకూడదు. ఏలయనగా యాజకుడు తన దేవునికి ప్రతిష్ఠితుడు.

7. ''A [cohen] is not to marry a woman who is a prostitute, who has been profaned or who has been divorced; because he is holy for his God.

8. అతడు నీ దేవునికి ఆహారమును అర్పించువాడు గనుక నీవు అతని పరిశుద్ధపరచవలెను. మిమ్మును పరిశుద్ధపరచు యెహోవా అను నేను పరిశుద్ధుడను గనుక అతడు మీ దృష్టికి పరిశుద్ధుడు కావలెను.

8. Rather, you are to set him apart as holy, because he offers the bread of your God; he is to be holy for you, because I, ADONAI, who makes you holy, am holy.

9. The daughter of a [cohen] who profanes herself by prostitution profanes her father; she is to be put to death by fire.

10. ప్రధానయాజకుడగుటకై తన సహోదరులలో ఎవరి తలమీద అభిషేకతైలము పోయబడునో, యాజకవస్త్రములు వేసికొనుటకు ఎవరు ప్రతిష్ఠింపబడునో అతడు తన తలకప్పును తీయరాదు; తన బట్టలను చింపుకొనరాదు;

10. ''The [cohen] who is ranked highest among his brothers, the one on whose head the anointing oil is poured and who is consecrated to put on the garments, is not to stop grooming his hair, tear his clothes,

11. అతడు శవముదగ్గరకు పోరాదు; తన తండ్రి శవమువలననే గాని తన తల్లి శవమువలననే గాని తన్ను అపవిత్రపరచుకొనరాదు.

11. go in to where any dead body is or make himself unclean, even when his father or mother dies.

12. దేవుని అభిషేక తైలము అనెడు కిరీటముగా అతని మీద ఉండును గనుక అతడు పరిశుద్ధమందిరమును విడిచి వెళ్లరాదు; తన దేవుని పరిశుద్ధమందిరమును అపవిత్రపరచరాదు; నేను యెహోవాను

12. He may not leave the sanctuary then or profane the sanctuary of his God, because the consecration of the anointing oil of his God is on him; I am ADONAI.

13. అతడు కన్యకను పెండ్లిచేసి కొనవలెను.

13. ''He is to marry a virgin;

14. విధవరాలినైనను విడనాడబడినదానినైనను భ్రష్టురాలినైనను, అనగా జారస్త్రీనైనను అట్టివారిని పెండ్లిచేసికొనక తన ప్రజలలోని కన్యకనే పెండ్లి చేసికొన వలెను.

14. he may not marry a widow, divorcee, profaned woman or prostitute; but he must marry a virgin from among his own people

15. యెహోవా అను నేను అతని పరిశుద్ధపరచు వాడను గనుక అతడు తన ప్రజలలో తన సంతానమును అపవిత్రపరచకూడదని వారితో చెప్పుము.

15. and not disqualify his descendants among his people; because I am ADONAI, who makes him holy.''

16. మరియు యెహోవా మోషేకు ఈలాగు సెలవిచ్చెను.

16. ADONAI said to Moshe,

17. నీవు అహరోనుతో ఇట్లనుము నీ సంతతివారిలో ఒకనికి కళంకమేదైనను కలిగినయెడల అతడు తన దేవునికి ఆహారము అర్పించుటకు సమీపింపకూడదు.

17. 'Tell Aharon, 'None of your descendants who has a defect may approach to offer the bread of his God.

18. ఏలయనగా ఎవనియందు కళంకముండునో వాడు గ్రుడ్డివాడేగాని కుంటివాడేగాని ముక్కిడివాడేగాని విపరీతమైన అవయవముగల వాడే గాని

18. No one with a defect may approach- no one blind, lame, with a mutilated face or a limb too long,

19. కాలైనను చేయినైనను విరిగినవాడే గాని

19. a broken foot or a broken arm,

20. గూనివాడేగాని గుజ్జువాడేగాని కంటిలో పువ్వు గల వాడేగాని గజ్జిగలవాడేగాని చిరుగుడుగలవాడేగాని వృషణములు నలిగినవాడేగాని సమీపింపకూడదు.

20. a hunched back, stunted growth, a cataract in his eye, festering or running sores, or damaged testicles-

21. యాజకుడైన అహరోను సంతానములో కళంకముగల యే మనుష్యుడును యెహోవాకు హోమద్రవ్యములను అర్పించుటకు సమీపింపకూడదు. అతడు కళంకముగలవాడు; అట్టివాడు తన దేవునికి ఆహారము అర్పించుటకు సమీపింప కూడదు.

21. no one descended from Aharon the [cohen] who has such a defect may approach to present the offerings for ADONAI made by fire; he has a defect and is not to approach to offer the bread of his God.

22. అతి పరిశుద్ధమైనవేగాని, పరిశుద్ధమైనవేగాని, తన దేవునికి అర్పింపబడు ఏ ఆహారవస్తువులనైనను అతడు తినవచ్చును.

22. He may eat the bread of his God, both the especially holy and the holy;

23. మెట్టుకు అతడు కళంకముగలవాడు గనుక అడ్డతెరయెదుటికి చేరకూడదు; బలిపీఠమును సమీపింపకూడదు;

23. only he is not to go in to the curtain or approach the altar, because he has a defect- so that he will not profane my holy places, because I am ADONAI, who makes them holy.''

24. నా పరిశుద్ధస్థలములను అపవిత్రపరచకూడదు; వారిని పరిశుద్ధపరచు యెహోవాను నేనే అని వారితో చెప్పుము. అట్లు మోషే అహరోనుతోను, అతని కుమారులతోను ఇశ్రాయేలీయులందరితోను చెప్పెను.

24. Moshe said these things to Aharon, his sons and all the people of Isra'el.
