1. ఏడవ సంవత్సరము అయిదవ నెల పదియవ దినమున ఇశ్రాయేలీయుల పెద్దలలో కొందరు యెహోవా యొద్ద విచారణచేయుటకై నా యొద్దకు వచ్చి నా యెదుట కూర్చుండియుండగా

1. IN THE seventh year, in the fifth [month], on the tenth [day] of the month [after the beginning of the Babylonian captivity, which was to last seventy years], certain of the elders of Israel came to inquire of the Lord and sat down before me [Ezekiel, in Babylonia]. [Jer. 25:11; 29:10.]

2. యెహోవా వాక్కు నాకు ప్రత్యక్షమై యీలాగు సెలవిచ్చెను

2. Then came the word of the Lord to me, saying,

3. నరపుత్రుడా, నీవు ఇశ్రాయేలీయుల పెద్దలతో ఇట్లనుము ప్రభువగు యెహోవా సెలవిచ్చునదేమనగా నా యొద్ద విచారణ చేయుటకు మీరు వచ్చుచున్నారే. నా జీవముతోడు నావలన ఏ ఆలోచనయైనను మీకు దొరకదు; ఇదే ప్రభువగు యెహోవా వాక్కు.

3. Son of man, speak to the elders of Israel and say to them, Thus says the Lord God: Have you come to inquire of Me? As I live, says the Lord God, I will not be inquired of by you!

4. వారికి న్యాయము తీర్చుదువా? నరపుత్రుడా, వారికి న్యాయము తీర్చుదువా? వారి పితరులు చేసిన హేయకృత్యములను వారికి తెలియ జేయుము.

4. Will you judge them, son of man [Ezekiel], will you judge them? Then cause them to know, understand, and realize the abominations of their fathers. [Matt. 23:29-33; Acts 7:51, 52.]

5. ఎట్లనగా ప్రభువైన యెహోవా ఈలాగు సెలవిచ్చుచున్నాడు నేను ఇశ్రాయేలును ఏర్పరచుకొనిన నాడును, యాకోబు సంతతికి ప్రమాణముచేసిన నాడును, ఐగుప్తుదేశమందు నన్ను వారికి ప్రత్యక్ష పరచుకొని ప్రమాణముచేసి నేను మీ దేవుడనైన యెహోవానని నేను ప్రకటించిన కాలమున

5. And say to them, Thus says the Lord God: In the day when I chose Israel and lifted up My hand and swore to the offspring of the house of Jacob and made Myself known to them in the land of Egypt, when I lifted up My hand and swore to them, saying, I am the Lord your God,

6. వారిని ఐగుప్తుదేశములోనుండి రప్పించి వారికొరకు నేను విచారించినదియు, పాలు తేనెలు ప్రవహించునదియు, సకల దేశములకు ఆభరణమైనదియునైన దేశములోనికి తోడుకొని పోయెదనని చెప్పిన కాలముననే నేను ప్రమాణము చేసితిని.

6. On that day I lifted up My hand and swore to them to bring them out of the land of Egypt to a land that I had searched out for them, flowing with milk and honey, [a land] which is an ornament and a glory to all lands.

7. అప్పుడు నేను మీ దేవుడనైన యెహోవాను, మీలో ప్రతివాడు తన కిష్టమైన హేయకృత్యములను విడిచిపెట్టవలెను, ఐగుప్తీయుల విగ్రహములను పూజించుటచేత మిమ్మును మీరు అపవిత్రపరచు కొనకుండవలెను అని నేను ఆజ్ఞాపించితిని.

7. Then said I to them, Let every man cast away the abominable things on which he feasts his eyes, and defile not yourselves with the idols of Egypt; I am the Lord your God.

8. అయితే వారు నా మాట విననొల్లక నామీద తిరుగుబాటు చేసి, తమకిష్టమైన హేయకృత్యములు చేయుట మాన లేదు, ఐగుప్తీయుల విగ్రహములను పూజించుట మానలేదు గనుక వారు ఐగుప్తీయుల దేశములో ఉండగానే నేను నా రౌద్రము వారిమీద కుమ్మరించి నా కోపము వారి మీద తీర్చుకొందునని యనుకొంటిని.

8. But they rebelled against Me and would not listen to Me; they did not every man cast away the abominable things on which they feasted their eyes, nor did they forsake the idols of Egypt. Then I [thought], I will pour out My wrath upon them and finish My anger against them in the midst of the land of Egypt.

9. అయితే ఏ అన్య జనులయెదుట నన్ను నేను బయలు పరచుకొంటినో, యే అన్యజనులమధ్య వారుండిరో ఆ అన్యజనులలో వారున్న అన్యజనుల యెదుట వారికి నన్ను బయలుపరచుకొంటిని, నా నామమునకు దూషణ కలుగకుండుటకై ఆలాగు చేయుటమాని, ఆ జనులు చూచుచుండగా నా నామ ఘనతకొరకు నేను వారిని ఐగుప్తుదేశములోనుండి రప్పించి తిని.

9. But I acted for My name's sake, that it should not be profaned in the sight of the [heathen] nations among whom they dwelt, in whose sight I made Myself known to them by bringing them out of the land of Egypt.

10. వారిని ఐగుప్తుదేశములోనుండి రప్పించి అరణ్యము లోనికి తోడుకొని వచ్చి

10. So I caused them to go out from the land of Egypt and brought them into the wilderness.

11. వారికి నా కట్టడలను నియమించి నా విధులను వారికి తెలియజేసితిని. ఎవడైన వాటి ననుసరించినయెడల వాటినిబట్టి బ్రదుకును.

11. And I gave them My statutes and showed and made known to them My judgments, which, if a man keeps, he must live in and by them.

12. మరియు యెహోవానగు నేనే వారిని పవిత్రపరచువాడనని వారు తెలిసికొనునట్లు నాకును వారికిని మధ్య విశ్రాంతి దినము లను వారికి సూచనగా నేను నియమించితిని.

12. Moreover, also I gave them My Sabbaths to be a sign between Me and them, that they might understand and realize that I am the Lord Who sanctifies them [separates and sets them apart].

13. అయితే అరణ్యమందు ఇశ్రాయేలీయులు నామీద తిరుగుబాటు చేసి నా కట్టడల ననుసరింపక, తాము అనుసరించి బ్రదుకవలెనని నేనిచ్చిన విధులను తృణీకరించి, నేను నియమించిన విశ్రాంతిదినములను అపవిత్రపరచగా, అరణ్య మందు నా రౌద్రాగ్ని వారిమీద కుమ్మరించి వారిని నిర్మూ లము చేయుదునను కొంటిని.

13. But the house of Israel rebelled against Me in the wilderness; they walked not in My statutes and they despised and cast away My judgments, which, if a man keeps, he must even live in and by them; and they grievously profaned My Sabbaths. Then I thought I would pour out My wrath on them in the wilderness and uproot and consume them.

14. అయితే నేను వారిని రప్పింపగా ఏ అన్య జనులు చూచిరో యే అన్యజనులలో నుండి నేను వారిని రప్పించితినో వారి యెదుట నా నామ మునకు దూషణ కలుగకుండునట్లు నేననుకొనిన ప్రకారము చేయక మానితిని.

14. But I acted for My name's sake, that it should not be profaned before the [heathen] nations in whose sight I brought them out.

15. మరియు తమకిష్టమైన విగ్రహముల ననుసరింపవలెనని కోరి, వారు నా విధులను తృణీకరించి నా కట్టడల ననుసరింపక నేను నియమించిన విశ్రాంతి దినములను అపవిత్రపరచగా

15. Yet also I lifted up My hand to swear to them in the wilderness that I would not bring them into the land which I had given them, flowing with milk and honey, which is the ornament and glory of all lands--

16. ఇచ్చెదనని నేను సెలవిచ్చి నట్టియు, పాలు తేనెలు ప్రవహించునట్టియునైన సకల దేశములకు ఆభరణమగు దేశములోనికి వారిని రప్పింపనని వారు అరణ్యములో ఉండగానే నేను ప్రమాణము చేసితిని.

16. Because they despised and rejected My ordinances and walked not in My statutes and profaned My Sabbaths, for their hearts went after their idols.

17. అయినను వారు నశించి పోకుండునట్లు వారియందు కనికరించి, అరణ్యములో నేను వారిని నిర్మూలము చేయక పోతిని.

17. Yet My eye pitied them instead of destroying them, and I did not make a full end of them in the wilderness.

18. వారు అరణ్యములో ఉండగానే వారి పిల్లలతో ఈలాగు సెలవిచ్చితినిమీరు మీ తండ్రుల ఆచారము లను అనుసరింపకయు, వారి పద్ధతులనుబట్టి ప్రవర్తింప కయు, వారు పెట్టుకొనిన దేవతలను పూజించి మిమ్మును మీరు అపవిత్రపరచుకొనకయు నుండుడి.

18. But I said to their sons in the wilderness, You shall not walk in the statutes of your fathers nor observe their ordinances nor defile yourselves with their idols.

19. మీ దేవుడనైన యెహోవాను నేనే గనుక నా కట్టడల ననుసరించి నా విధులను గైకొని నేను నియమించిన విశ్రాంతిదినములను ఆచరించుడి.

19. I the Lord am your God; walk in My statutes and keep My ordinances,

20. నేను మీ దేవుడనైన యెహోవా నని మీరు తెలిసికొనునట్లు ఆ విశ్రాంతిదినములు నాకును మీకును మధ్యను సూచనగా ఉండును.

20. And hallow (separate and keep holy) My Sabbaths, and they shall be a sign between Me and you, that you may know, understand, and realize that I am the Lord your God.

21. అయినను ఆ జనులు సహా నా మీద తిరుగబడి, తామనుసరించి బ్రదుకవలెనని నేనిచ్చిన నా కట్టడలను అనుసరింపకయు, నా విధులను గైకొనకయు, నేను నియమించిన విశ్రాంతి దినములను అపవిత్రపరచిరి గనుక, వారు అరణ్యములో ఉండగానే నేను నా రౌద్రాగ్ని వారిమీద కుమ్మరించి నా కోపము వారిమీద తీర్చుకొందునని యనుకొంటిని.

21. Yet the sons rebelled against Me; they walked not in My statutes, neither kept My ordinances which, if a man does, he must live in and by them; they profaned My Sabbaths. Then I thought I would pour out My wrath on them and finish My anger against them in the wilderness.

22. అయితే నేను ప్రత్యక్షమైన అన్యజనుల మధ్య నా నామమునకు దూషణ కలుగకుండునట్లు ఏ జనులలోనుండి వారిని రప్పించితినో ఆ జనులు చూచుచుండగా నా హస్తము వెనుకకు తీసి నా వాగ్దానము నెరవేర్చితిని.

22. Yet I withheld My hand and acted for My name's sake, that it should not be debased and profaned in the sight of the [heathen] nations, in whose sight I had brought them forth [from bondage].

23. మరియు వారు నా విధుల ననుసరింపక నా కట్టడలను తృణీకరించి, నేను విధించిన విశ్రాంతిదినములను అపవిత్ర పరచి,

23. Moreover, I lifted up My hand and swore to them in the wilderness that I would scatter them among the [heathen] nations and disperse them in the countries,

24. తమ పితరులు పెట్టుకొనిన విగ్రహములను పూజింప గోరగా, అన్యజనులలో వారిని చెదరగొట్టి సకలదేశముల లోనికి వారిని వెళ్లగొట్టుదునని ప్రమాణము చేసితిని.

24. Because they had not executed My ordinances but had despised and rejected My statutes and had profaned My Sabbaths, and their eyes were set on their fathers' idols.

25. నేను యెహోవానని వారు తెలిసికొనునట్లు వారిని విస్మ యము నొందింపవలెనని అనుకూలము కాని కట్టడలను తాము బ్రదుకుటకు ప్రయోజనకరములు కాని విధులను వారికిచ్చితిని.

25. Wherefore also I gave them [over to] statutes that were not good and ordinances whereby they should not live and could not have life, [Ps. 81:12; Isa. 66:4; Rom. 1:21-25, 28.]

26. తొలిచూలిని అగ్నిగుండము దాటించి బలి దానముల నిచ్చుటచేత తమ్మును తాము అపవిత్రపరచు కొననిచ్చితిని.

26. And I [let them] pollute and make themselves unclean in their own offerings [to their idols], in that they caused to pass through the fire all the firstborn, that I might make them desolate, to the end that they might know, understand, and realize that I am the Lord. [Lev. 20:2-5.]

27. కాబట్టి నరపుత్రుడా, ఇశ్రాయేలీయులతో మాటలాడి ఇట్లు ప్రకటింపుము ప్రభువగు యెహోవా సెలవిచ్చునదేమనగా మీ పితరులు నాయెడల అతిక్రమముచేసి నన్ను దూషించి

27. Therefore, son of man, speak to the house of Israel and say to them, Thus says the Lord God: Again in this your fathers blasphemed Me, in that they dealt faithlessly and treacherously with Me and committed a treasonous trespass against Me.

28. వారికిచ్చెదనని నేను ప్రమాణ పూర్వక ముగా చెప్పిన దేశములోనికి నేను వారిని రప్పించిన తరు వాత, ఎత్తయిన యొక కొండనేగాని, దట్టమైన యొక వృక్షమునేగాని తాము చూచినప్పుడెల్లను బలులు అర్పిం చుచు, అర్పణలను అర్పించుచు, అక్కడ పరిమళ ధూపము ప్రతిష్ఠించుచు, పానార్పణములు చేయుచు నాకు కోపము పుట్టించిరి.

28. For when I had brought them into the land which I lifted up My hand and swore to give to them, then they saw every high hill and every dark and leafy tree [as a place for idol worship], and they offered there their sacrifices and there they presented their offering that provoked My anger and sadness; there also they made their sweet-smelling savor and poured out there their drink offerings.

29. మీరు పోవుచున్న ఉన్నత స్థలములేమిటని నేనడిగితిని; కాబట్టి ఉన్నతస్థలమను పేరు నేటివరకు వాడుకలో నున్నది.

29. Then I said to them, What is the high place to which you go? And the name of it is called Bamah [high place] to this day.

30. కావున ఇశ్రాయేలీయులకు ఈ మాట ప్రకటింపుముప్రభువైన యెహోవా సెలవిచ్చున దేమనగామీ పితరుల రీతిని మీరును అపవిత్రులైతిరే వారు పెట్టుకొనిన విగ్రహములను అనుసరించుచు మీరును వ్యభిచారులైతిరే;

30. Therefore say to the house of Israel, Thus says the Lord God: Do you [exiles] debase and defile yourselves after the manner of your fathers? And do you play the harlot after their loathsome and detestable things?

31. నేటివరకును మీరు అర్పణలను అర్పించి మీ కుమారులను అగ్నిగుండ దాటించునప్పుడు, మీరు పెట్టుకొనిన విగ్రహములన్నిటికి పూజజేసి అపవిత్రులగు చున్నారే; ఇశ్రాయేలీయులారా, నాయొద్ద మీరు విచారణ చేయుదురా? నా జీవముతోడు నావలన ఆలోచన మీకు దొరుకదు; ఇదే ప్రభువైన యెహోవా వాక్కు

31. And when you offer your gifts, when you make your sons pass through the fire, do you not debase and defile yourselves with all your idols to this day? And shall I be inquired of by you, O house of Israel? As I live, says the Lord God, I will not be inquired of by you!

32. అన్యజనులేమి భూమిమీది యే జనులేమి చేయునట్లు మేమును కొయ్యలకును రాళ్లకును పూజచేతుమని మీరనుకొనుచున్నారే. మీరు ఇచ్ఛయించినదాని ప్రకారమెన్నటికిని జరుగదు.

32. And that which has come up in your mind shall never happen, in that you think, We will be as the nations, as the tribes of the countries, to serve idols of wood and stone.

33. నా జీవముతోడు నా రౌద్రము కుమ్మరించుచు, బాహుబలముతోను చాచిన చేతితోను నేను మీపైన అధికారము చేసెదను.

33. As I live, says the Lord God, surely with a mighty hand and an outstretched arm and with wrath poured out will I be King over you.

34. మరియు నేను రౌద్రము కుమ్మరించుచు, బాహుబలముతోను చాచిన చేతితోను మిమ్మును చెదరగొట్టిన ఆయా దేశములలోనుండియు జనులలోనుండియు నేను మిమ్మును సమ కూర్చి

34. And I will bring you out from the peoples and will gather you out of the countries in which you are scattered, with a mighty hand and an outstretched arm and with wrath poured out.

35. జనములున్న అరణ్యములోనికి మిమ్మును రప్పించి, అక్కడ ముఖాముఖిగా మీతో వ్యాజ్యెమాడెదను; ఇదే యెహోవా వాక్కు.

35. And I will bring you into the wilderness of the peoples, and there will I enter into judgment with you and contend with you face to face.

36. ఐగుప్తీయులదేశపు అరణ్యములో నేను మీ పితరులతో వ్యాజ్యెమాడినట్టు మీతోను వ్యాజ్యె మాడెదను; ఇదే ప్రభువైన యెహోవా వాక్కు.

36. As I entered into judgment and contended with your fathers in the wilderness of the land of Egypt, so will I enter into judgment and contend with you, says the Lord God. [Num. 11; Ps. 106:15; I Cor. 10:5-10.]

37. చేతి కఱ్ఱక్రింద మిమ్మును దాటించి నిబంధనకు లోపరచెదను.

37. And I will cause you to pass under the rod [as the shepherd does his sheep when he counts them, and I will count you as Mine and I will constrain you] and bring you into the covenant to which you are permanently bound. [Lev. 27:32.]

38. మరియు నామీద తిరుగబడువారిని దోషము చేయువారిని మీలో ఉండకుండ ప్రత్యేకించెదను, తాము కాపురమున్న దేశములోనుండి వారిని రప్పించెదను గాని నేను యెహోవానని మీరు తెలిసికొనునట్లు వారు ఇశ్రాయేలు దేశములో ప్రవేశించరు.

38. And I will purge out and separate from among you the rebels and those who transgress against Me; I will bring them out of the country where they temporarily dwell, but they shall not enter the land of Israel. Then you shall know, understand, and realize that I am the Lord. [Heb. 4:2, 3.]

39. ఇశ్రాయేలు యింటివార లారా, మీరు నామాట వినని యెడల మీరు పెట్టుకొనిన విగ్రహములను, మీ కిష్టమైనట్టుగా పూజించుకొనుడి, గాని మీ అర్పణలచేతను మీ విగ్రహములచేతను నా పరిశుద్ధనామమును అపవిత్రపరచకుడి అని ప్రభువైన యెహోవా సెలవిచ్చుచున్నాడు.

39. As for you, O house of Israel, thus says the Lord God: Go, serve every one of you his idols, now and hereafter, if you will not listen to Me! But you shall not profane My holy name any more with your sacrificial gifts and your idols!

40. నిజముగా ఇశ్రాయేలీయుల ఉన్నతమైన కొండయగు నా పరిశుద్ధ పర్వతమందు దేశములోనున్న ఇశ్రాయేలీయులందరును నాకు సేవచేయుదురు; ఇదే ప్రభువైన యెహోవా వాక్కు. అచ్చటనే నేను వారిని అంగీకరించెదను. అచ్చటనే మీ ప్రతిష్ఠితమైన యర్పణలను, మీ ప్రథమ ఫలదానములను, ప్రతిష్ఠితములగు మీ కానుకలనన్నిటిని నేనంగీకరించెదను.

40. For on My holy mountain, on the mountain height of Israel, says the Lord God, there all the house of Israel, all of them in the land, shall serve Me. There will I [graciously] accept them, and there will I require your offerings and the firstfruits and the choicest of your contributions, with all your sacred things.

41. జనములలోనుండి నేను మిమ్మును రప్పించునప్పుడును, మిమ్మును చెదరగొట్టిన ఆ యా దేశము లలోనుండి మిమ్మును సమకూర్చునప్పుడును, పరిమళధూపముగా మిమ్మును అంగీకరించెదను, అన్యజనులయెదుటను మీ మధ్యను నన్ను నేను పరిశుద్ధపరచుకొందును.

41. I will accept you [graciously] as a pleasant odor when I lead you out from the peoples and gather you out of the countries in which you have been scattered, and I will manifest My holiness among you in the sight of the nations [who will seek Me because of My power displayed in you]. [Eph. 5:2; Phil. 4:18.]

42. మీ పితరులకిచ్చెదనని నేను ప్రమాణ పూర్వకముగా చెప్పిన దేశమునకు, అనగా ఇశ్రాయేలీయుల దేశమునకు నేను మిమ్మును రప్పించునప్పుడు నేనే యెహోవానని మీరు తెలిసికొందురు.

42. And you shall know, understand, and realize that I am the Lord, when I bring you into the land of Israel, into the country which I lifted up My hand and swore to give to your fathers.

43. అచ్చట చేరి మీ ప్రవర్తనను, మిమ్మును మీరు అపవిత్ర పరచుకొనిన మీ క్రియలన్నిటిని మనస్సు నకు తెచ్చుకొని, మీరు చేసిన దుష్‌క్రియలనుబట్టి మిమ్మును మీరే అసహ్యించుకొందురు.

43. And there you shall [earnestly] remember your ways and all your doings with which you have defiled yourselves, and you shall loathe yourselves in your own sight for all your evil deeds which you have done.

44. ఇశ్రాయేలీయులారా, మీ దుర్మార్గతనుబట్టియు మీ కాని చేష్టలనుబట్టియు కాక నా నామమునుబట్టియే నేను మీ కీలాగున చేయగా నేనే యెహోవానని మీరు తెలిసికొందురు.

44. And you shall know, understand, and realize that I am the Lord, when I deal with you for My name's sake, not according to your evil ways nor according to your corrupt doings, O house of Israel, says the Lord God.

45. ఇదే యెహోవా వాక్కు మరియు యెహోవా వాక్కు నాకు ప్రత్యక్షమై యీలాగు సెలవిచ్చెను

45. Moreover, the word of the Lord came to me, saying,

46. నరపుత్రుడా, నీ ముఖము దక్షిణపుతట్టు త్రిప్పుకొని దక్షిణదేశమునకు ప్రకటింపుము, దక్షిణదేశపు అరణ్య మునుగూర్చి ప్రవచించి ఇట్లనుము

46. Son of man, set your face toward the south, preach against the south, and prophesy against the forest land of the South (the Negeb),

47. దక్షిణదేశమా, యెహోవా మాట ఆలకించుము ప్రభువైన యెహోవా సెలవిచ్చునదేమనగా నేను నీలో అగ్ని రాజబెట్టెదను, అది నీలోనున్న పచ్చని చెట్లన్నిటిని ఎండిన చెట్లన్నిటిని దహించును, అది ఆరిపోకుండనుండును, దక్షిణదిక్కు మొదలుకొని ఉత్తరదిక్కువరకు భూముఖమంతయు దాని చేత కాల్చబడును.

47. And say to the forest of the South (the Negeb), Hear the word of the Lord; Thus says the Lord God: Behold, I will kindle a fire in you and it shall devour every green tree in you and every dry tree. The blazing flame shall not be quenched, and all faces from the south to the north shall be scorched by it.

48. అది ఆరిపోకుండ యెహోవానైన నేను దానిని రాజబెట్టితినని సమస్తమైన జనులకు తెలియబడును.

48. All flesh shall see that I the Lord have kindled it; it shall not be quenched.

49. అయ్యో ప్రభువా యెహోవా వీడు గూఢ మైన మాటలు పలుకువాడు కాడా అని వారు నన్ను గూర్చి చెప్పుదురని నేనంటిని.

49. Then said I, Ah, Lord God! They are saying of me, Does he not speak in parables and make allegories?
