1. మరల యెహోవా వాక్కు నాకు ప్రత్యక్షమై యీలాగు సెలవిచ్చెను

1. The LORD spoke to me

2. తండ్రులు ద్రాక్షకాయలు తినగా పిల్లల పళ్లు పులిసెనని మీరు చెప్పుచు వచ్చెదరే; ఇశ్రాయేలీయుల దేశమునుగూర్చి ఈ సామెత మీ రెందుకు పలికెదరు?

2. and said, 'What is this proverb people keep repeating in the land of Israel? 'The parents ate the sour grapes, But the children got the sour taste.'

3. నా జీవముతోడు ఈ సామెత ఇశ్రాయేలీయులలో మీరిక పలుకరు; ఇదే ప్రభువైన యెహోవా వాక్కు.

3. 'As surely as I am the living God,' says the Sovereign LORD, 'you will not repeat this proverb in Israel any more.

4. మనుష్యులందరు నా వశములో ఉన్నారు, తండ్రులేమి కుమారులేమి అందరును నా వశములో ఉన్నారు; పాపముచేయువాడెవడో వాడే మరణము నొందును.

4. The life of every person belongs to me, the life of the parent as well as that of the child. The person who sins is the one who will die.

5. ఒకడు నీతిపరుడై నీతిన్యాయములను అనుసరించువాడైయుండి

5. 'Suppose there is a truly good man, righteous and honest.

6. పర్వతములమీద భోజనము చేయకయు, ఇశ్రాయేలీయులు పెట్టుకొనిన విగ్రహముల తట్టు చూడకయు, తన పొరుగువాని భార్యను చెరపకయు, బహిష్టయైనదానిని కూడకయు,

6. He doesn't worship the idols of the Israelites or eat the sacrifices offered at forbidden shrines. He doesn't seduce another man's wife or have intercourse with a woman during her period.

7. ఎవనినైనను భాదపెట్ట కయు, ఋణస్థునికి అతని తాకట్టును చెల్లించి బలాత్కారముచేత ఎవనికైనను నష్టము కలుగజేయకయునుండువాడై, ఆకలిగల వానికి ఆహారమిచ్చి దిగంబరికి బట్టయిచ్చి

7. He doesn't cheat or rob anyone. He returns what a borrower gives him as security; he feeds the hungry and gives clothing to the naked.

8. వడ్డికి అప్పియ్యకయు, లాభము చేపట్టకయు, అన్యాయము చేయకయు, నిష్పక్షపాతముగా న్యాయము తీర్చి

8. He doesn't lend money for profit. He refuses to do evil and gives an honest decision in any dispute.

9. యథార్థపరుడై నా కట్టడలను గైకొనుచు నా విధులనను సరించుచుండినయెడల వాడే నిర్దోషియగును, నిజముగా వాడు బ్రదుకును; ఇదే ప్రభువైన యెహోవా వాక్కు.

9. Such a man obeys my commands and carefully keeps my laws. He is righteous, and he will live,' says the Sovereign LORD.

10. అయితే ఆ నీతిపరునికి కుమారుడు పుట్టగా వాడు బలాత్కారము చేయువాడై ప్రాణహానికరుడై, చేయరాని క్రియలలో దేనినైనను చేసి

10. 'Then suppose this man has a son who robs and kills, who does any of these things

11. చేయవలసిన మంచి క్రియలలో దేనినైనను చేయకయుండినయెడల, అనగా పర్వతములమీద భోజనము చేయుటయు, తన పొరుగువాని భార్యను చెరుపుటయు,

11. that the father never did. He eats sacrifices offered at forbidden shrines and seduces other men's wives.

12. దీనులను దరిద్రులను భాదపెట్టి బలాత్కారముచేత నష్టము కలుగజేయుటయు, తాకట్టు చెల్లింపకపోవుటయు, విగ్రహముల తట్టు చూచి హేయకృత్యములు జరిగించుటయు,

12. He cheats the poor, he robs, he keeps what a borrower gives him as security. He goes to pagan shrines, worships disgusting idols,

13. అప్పిచ్చి వడ్డి పుచ్చుకొనుటయు, లాభము చేపట్టుటయు ఈ మొదలగు క్రియలు చేసినయెడల వాడు బ్రదుకునా? బ్రదుకడు, ఈ హేయక్రియలన్ని చేసెను గనుక అవశ్యముగా వానికి మరణశిక్ష విధింపబడును, వాడు తన ప్రాణమునకు తానే ఉత్తరవాది యగును.

13. and lends money for profit. Will he live? No, he will not. He has done all these disgusting things, and so he will die. He will be to blame for his own death.

14. అయితే అతనికి కుమారుడు పుట్టగా ఆ కుమారుడు తన తండ్రిచేసిన పాపములన్నిటిని చూచి, ఆలోచించుకొని అట్టి క్రియలు చేయకయుండినయెడల, అనగా

14. 'Now suppose this second man has a son. He sees all the sins his father practiced, but does not follow his example.

15. పర్వతములమీద భోజనము చేయకయు, ఇశ్రాయేలీయులు పెట్టుకొనిన విగ్రహ ములతట్టు చూడకయు, తన పొరుగువాని భార్యను చెరపకయు,

15. He doesn't worship the idols of the Israelites or eat the sacrifices offered at forbidden shrines. He doesn't seduce another man's wife

16. ఎవనినైనను బాధపెట్టకయు, తాకట్టు ఉంచు కొనకయు, బలాత్కారముచేత నష్టపరచకయు, ఆకలి గలవానికి ఆహారమిచ్చి దిగంబరికి బట్టయిచ్చి

16. or oppress anyone or rob anyone. He returns what a borrower gives him as security. He feeds the hungry and gives clothing to the naked.

17. బీదవాని మీద అన్యాయముగా చెయ్యి వేయక లాభముకొరకు అప్పియ్యకయు, వడ్డి పుచ్చుకొనకయు నుండినవాడై, నా విధుల నాచరించుచు నా కట్టడల ననుసరించుచు నుండిన యెడల అతడు తన తండ్రిచేసిన దోషమునుబట్టి చావడు, అతడు అవశ్యముగా బ్రదుకును.

17. He refuses to do evil and doesn't lend money for profit. He keeps my laws and obeys my commands. He will not die because of his father's sins, but he will certainly live.

18. అతని తండ్రి క్రూరుడై పరులను బాధపెట్టి బలాత్కారముచేత తన సహోదరులను నష్టపరచి తన జనులలో తగని క్రియలు చేసెను గనుక అతడే తన దోషమునుబట్టి మరణము నొందును.

18. His father, on the other hand, cheated and robbed and always did evil to everyone. And so he died because of the sins he himself had committed.

19. అయితే మీరు కుమారుడు తన తండ్రి యొక్క దోష శిక్షను ఏల మోయుటలేదని చెప్పుకొను చున్నారు. కుమారుడు నీతిన్యాయముల ననుసరించి నా కట్టడలన్నిటిని అనుసరించి గైకొనెను గనుక అతడు అవశ్యముగా బ్రదుకును.

19. 'But you ask, 'Why shouldn't the son suffer because of his father's sins?' The answer is that the son did what was right and good. He kept my laws and followed them carefully, and so he will certainly live.

20. పాపము చేయువాడే మరణము నొందును; తండ్రియొక్క దోష శిక్షను కుమారుడు మోయుటలేదని కుమారుని దోష శిక్షను తండ్రిమోయడు, నీతిపరుని నీతి ఆ నీతిపరునికే చెందును, దుష్టుని దుష్టత్వము ఆ దుష్టునికే చెందును.

20. It is the one who sins who will die. A son is not to suffer because of his father's sins, nor a father because of the sins of his son. Good people will be rewarded for doing good, and evil people will suffer for the evil they do.

21. అయితే దుష్టుడు తాను చేసిన పాపములన్నిటిని విడిచి, నా కట్టడలన్నిటిని అనుసరించి నీతిని అనుసరించి న్యాయము జరిగించినయెడల అతడు మరణము నొందడు, అవశ్యముగా అతడు బ్రదుకును.

21. 'If someone evil stops sinning and keeps my laws, if he does what is right and good, he will not die; he will certainly live.

22. అతడు చేసిన అపరాధములలో ఒకటియు జ్ఞాపకములోనికి రాదు, అతని నీతినిబట్టి అతడు బ్రదుకును.

22. All his sins will be forgiven, and he will live, because he did what is right.

23. దుష్టులు మరణము నొందుటచేత నా కేమాత్రమైన సంతోషము కలుగునా? వారు తమ ప్రవర్తనను దిద్దుకొని బ్రదుకుటయే నాకు సంతోషము; ఇదే ప్రభువగు యెహోవా వాక్కు.

23. Do you think I enjoy seeing evil people die?' asks the Sovereign LORD. 'No, I would rather see them repent and live.

24. అయితే నీతిపరుడు తన నీతిని విడిచి పాపము చేసి, దుష్టులు చేయు హేయక్రియలన్నిటి ప్రకారము జరిగించినయెడల అతడు బ్రదుకునా? అతడు చేసిన నీతి కార్యములు ఏమాత్రమును జ్ఞాపకములోనికి రావు, అతడు విశ్వాసఘాతకుడై చేసిన పాపమునుబట్టి మరణము నొందును.

24. 'But if a righteous person stops doing good and starts doing all the evil, disgusting things that evil people do, will he go on living? No! None of the good he did will be remembered. He will die because of his unfaithfulness and his sins.

25. అయితే యెహోవా మార్గము న్యాయము కాదని మీరు చెప్పుచున్నారు. ఇశ్రాయేలీయులారా, నా మాట ఆలకించుడి, నా మార్గము న్యాయమే మీ మార్గమే గదా అన్యాయమైనది?

25. 'But you say, 'What the Lord does isn't right.' Listen to me, you Israelites. Do you think my way of doing things isn't right? It is your way that isn't right.

26. నీతి పరుడు తన నీతిని విడిచి పాపము చేసినయెడల అతడు దానినిబట్టి మరణము నొందును; తాను పాపము చేయుటనుబట్టియే గదా అతడు మరణమునొందును?

26. When a righteous person stops doing good and starts doing evil and then dies, he dies because of the evil he has done.

27. మరియు దుష్టుడు తాను చేయుచు వచ్చిన దుష్టత్వమునుండి మరలి నీతి న్యాయములను జరిగించిన యెడల తన ప్రాణము రక్షించుకొనును.

27. When someone evil stops sinning and does what is right and good, he saves his life.

28. అతడు ఆలోచించుకొని తాను చేయుచువచ్చిన అతిక్రమక్రియ లన్నిటిని చేయక మానెను గనుక అతడు మరణమునొందక అవశ్యముగా బ్రదుకును.

28. He realizes what he is doing and stops sinning, so he will certainly not die, but go on living.

29. అయితే ఇశ్రాయేలీయులు యెహోవా మార్గము న్యాయముకాదని చెప్పుచున్నారు. ఇశ్రాయేలీయులారా, నా మార్గము న్యాయమేగాని మీ మార్గము న్యాయము కాదు.

29. And you Israelites say, 'What the Lord does isn't right.' You think my way isn't right, do you? It is your way that isn't right.

30. కాబట్టి ఇశ్రాయేలీయులారా, యెవని ప్రవర్తననుబట్టి వానికి శిక్ష విధింతును. మనస్సు త్రిప్పుకొని మీ అక్రమములు మీకు శిక్షాకారణములు కాకుండునట్లు వాటినన్నిటిని విడిచిపెట్టుడి.

30. 'Now I, the Sovereign LORD, am telling you Israelites that I will judge each of you by what you have done. Turn away from all the evil you are doing, and don't let your sin destroy you.

31. మీరు జరిగించిన అక్రమ క్రియలన్నిటిని విడిచి నూతన హృదయమును నూతన బుద్దియు తెచ్చుకొనుడి. ఇశ్రాయేలీయులారా, మీరెందుకు మరణము నొందుదురు? ఇదే ప్రభువగు యెహోవా వాక్కు.

31. Give up all the evil you have been doing, and get yourselves new minds and hearts. Why do you Israelites want to die?

32. మరణమునొందువాడు మరణము నొందుటనుబట్టి నేను సంతోషించువాడను కాను. కావున మీరు మనస్సు త్రిప్పుకొనుడి అప్పుడు మీరు బ్రదుకుదురు; ఇదే ప్రభువగు యెహోవా వాక్కు.

32. I do not want anyone to die,' says the Sovereign LORD. 'Turn away from your sins and live.'
