1. యెరూషలేము వీధులలో అటు ఇటు పరుగెత్తుచు చూచి తెలిసికొనుడి; దాని రాజవీధులలో విచారణ చేయుడి; న్యాయము జరిగించుచు నమ్మకముగానుండ యత్నించుచున్న ఒకడు మీకు కనబడినయెడల నేను దాని క్షమించుదును.

1. Hear the word ADONAI speaks to you, house of Isra'el!

2. యెహోవా జీవముతోడు అను మాట పలికినను వారు మోసమునకై ప్రమాణము చేయుదురు.

2. Here is what ADONAI says: "Don't learn the way of the [Goyim], don't be frightened by astrological signs, even if the [Goyim] are afraid of them;

3. యెహోవా, యథార్థతమీదనే గదా నీవు దృష్టి యుంచుచున్నావు? నీవు వారిని కొట్టితివి గాని వారికి దుఃఖము కలుగలేదు; వారిని క్షీణింప జేసియున్నావు గాని వారు శిక్షకు లోబడనొల్లకున్నారు. రాతికంటె తమ ముఖములను కఠినముగా చేసికొనియున్నారు, మళ్లుటకు సమ్మతింపరు.

3. for the customs of the peoples are nothing. They cut down a tree in the forest; a craftsman works it with his axe;

4. నేనిట్లనుకొంటిని వీరు ఎన్నికలేనివారై యుండి యెహోవా మార్గమును, తమ దేవుని న్యాయవిధిని ఎరుగక బుద్ధిహీనులై యున్నారు.

4. they deck it with silver and gold. They fix it with hammer and nails, so that it won't move.

5. ఘనులైనవారియొద్దకు పోయెదను వారితో మాటలాడెదను, వారు యెహోవా మార్గమును, తమ దేవుని న్యాయవిధిని ఎరిగినవారై యుందురుగదా అని నేననుకొంటిని. అయితే ఒకడును తప్పకుండ వారు కాడిని విరిచినవారుగాను కట్లను తెంపు కొనినవారుగాను ఉన్నారు.

5. Like a scarecrow in a cucumber patch, it cannot speak. It has to be carried, because it cannot walk. Do not be afraid of it- it can do nothing bad; likewise it is unable to do anything good!"

6. వారు తిరుగుబాటుచేసి బహుగా విశ్వాసఘాతకులైరి గనుక అరణ్యమునుండి వచ్చిన సింహము వారిని చంపును, అడవి తోడేలు వారిని నాశనము చేయును, చిరుతపులి వారి పట్టణములయొద్ద పొంచి యుండును, వాటిలోనుండి బయలుదేరు ప్రతివాడు చీల్చబడును.

6. There is no one like you, ADONAI! You are great, and your name is great and mighty.

7. నీ పిల్లలు నన్ను విడిచి దైవము కానివాటి తోడని ప్రమాణము చేయుదురు; నేను వారిని తృప్తిగ పోషించినను వారు వ్యభిచారము చేయుచు వేశ్యల ఇండ్లలో గుంపులు కూడుదురు; నేనెట్లు నిన్ను క్షమించుదును?

7. Who would not fear you, king of the nations? For it is your due!- since among all the wise of the nations and among all their royalty, there is no one like you.

8. బాగుగా బలిసిన గుఱ్ఱములవలె ప్రతివాడును ఇటు అటు తిరుగుచు తన పొరుగువాని భార్యవెంబడి సకి లించును

8. One and all they are boorish and stupid; the teaching of their nothings is a piece of wood!

9. అట్టి కార్యములనుబట్టి నేను దండింపకుందునా? అట్టి జనముమీద నా కోపము తీర్చుకొనకుందునా? ఇదే యెహోవా వాక్కు.

9. Silver is beaten into plates, then imported from Tarshish. Gold from Ufaz is worked by a craftsman and shaped by the hands of a goldsmith. They are clothed in blue and purple, all the work of skillful men.

10. దాని ప్రాకారము లెక్కి నాశనముచేయుడి, అయినను నిశ్శేషముగా నాశనముచేయకుడి, దాని శాఖలను కొట్టి వేయుడి. అవి యెహోవావి కావు.

10. But ADONAI, God, is the true God, the living God, the everlasting king. At his anger, the earth trembles; the nations cannot endure his fury.

11. ఇశ్రాయేలు వంశస్థులును యూదా వంశస్థులును బహుగా విశ్వాసఘాతకము చేసియున్నారు; ఇదే యెహోవా వాక్కు.

11. "This is what you must say to them: 'The gods that did not make heaven and earth will perish from earth and from under heaven.'"

12. వారుపలుకువాడు యెహోవా కాడనియు ఆయన లేడనియు, కీడు మనకు రాదనియు, ఖడ్గమునైనను కరవునైనను చూడ మనియు,

12. God made the earth by his power, established the world by his wisdom spread out the sky by his understanding.

13. ప్రవక్తలు గాలి మాటలు పలుకుదురనియు, ఆజ్ఞ ఇచ్చువాడు వారిలో లేడనియు, తాము చెప్పినట్లు తమకు కలుగుననియు చెప్పుదురు.

13. When he thunders, the waters in heaven roar, he raises clouds from the ends of the earth, he makes the lightning flash in the rain and brings the wind out from his storehouses.

14. కావున సైన్యములకధిపతియు దేవుడునగు యెహోవా ఈలాగు సెలవిచ్చుచున్నాడు వారు ఈ మాటలు పలికినందున నా వాక్యములు వారిని కాల్చునట్లు నీ నోట వాటిని అగ్నిగాను ఈ జనమును కట్టెలుగాను నేను చేసెదను; ఇదే యెహోవా వాక్కు.

14. At this, everyone is proved stupid, ignorant, every goldsmith put to shame by his idol! The figures he casts are a fraud; there is no breath in them;

15. ఇశ్రాయేలు కుటుంబమువారలారా, ఆలకించుడి, దూర ముననుండి మీ మీదికి ఒక జనమును రప్పించెదను, అది బలమైన జనము పురాతనమైన జనము; దాని భాష నీకు రానిది, ఆ జనులు పలుకుమాటలు నీకు బోధపడవు.

15. they are nothings, ridiculous objects; when the day for their punishment comes, they will perish.

16. వారి అమ్ముల పొది తెరచిన సమాధి, వారందరు బలా ఢ్యులు,

16. Ya'akov's portion is not like these, for he is the one who formed all things. Isra'el is the tribe he claims as his heritage; ADONAI-[Tzva'ot] is his name.

17. వారు నీ పంటను నీ ఆహారమును నాశనము చేయుదురు, నీ కుమారులను నీ కుమార్తెలను నాశనము చేయుదురు, నీ గొఱ్ఱెలను నీ పశువులను నాశనము చేయుదురు, నీ ద్రాక్షచెట్ల ఫలమును నీ అంజూరపుచెట్ల ఫలమును నాశనము చేయుదురు, నీకు ఆశ్రయముగానున్న ప్రాకారములుగల పట్టణములను వారు కత్తిచేత పాడుచేయుదురు.

17. You who are living under the siege, gather your belongings off the ground,

18. అయినను ఆ దినములలో నేను మిమ్మును శేషములేకుండ నశింపజేయను; ఇదే యెహోవా వాక్కు.

18. for here is what ADONAI says: "At this time I am slinging away the inhabitants of the land; I will distress them, so that they will feel it."

19. మన దేవుడైన యెహోవా దేనినిబట్టి ఇవన్నియు మాకు చేసెనని వారడుగగా నీవు వారితో ఈలాగనుము మీరు నన్ను విసర్జించి మీ స్వదేశములో అన్యదేవతలను కొలిచి నందుకు, మీదికాని దేశములో మీరు అన్యులను కొలిచెదరు అని యెహోవా సెలవిచ్చుచున్నాడు.

19. Woe to me because of my wound! My injury is incurable! I used to say, "It's only an illness, and I can bear it."

20. యాకోబు వంశస్థులకు ఈ మాట తెలియజేయుడి, యూదా వంశస్థులకు ఈ సమాచారము చాటించుడి

20. But now my tent is ruined, all its cords are severed; my children have left me and are no more; there is no one to set up my tent again, no one to raise its curtains.

21. కన్నులుండియు చూడకయు చెవులుండియు వినకయు నున్న వివేకములేని మూఢులారా, ఈ మాట వినుడి.

21. The shepherds have become stupid, they have not consulted ADONAI. This is why they have not prospered, and all their flocks are scattered.

22. సముద్రము దాటలేకుండునట్లును, దాని తరంగము లెంత పొర్లినను అవి ప్రబలలేకయు, ఎంత ఘోషించినను దాని దాటలేకయు ఉండునట్లును నిత్య నిర్ణయముచేత దానికి ఇసుకను సరిహద్దుగా నియమించిన నాకు మీరు భయ పడరా? నా సన్నిధిని వణకరా? ఇదే యెహోవా వాక్కు.

22. Listen! A noise! It's coming closer! A great uproar from the land to the north, to make the cities of Y'hudah desolate, a place for jackals to live.

23. ఈ జనులు తిరుగు బాటును ద్రోహమునుచేయు మనస్సుగల వారు, వారు తిరుగుబాటుచేయుచు తొలగి పోవుచున్నారు.

23. ADONAI, I know that the way of humans is not in their control, humans are not able to direct their steps as they walk.

24. వారు రండి మన దేవుడైన యెహోవా యందు భయభక్తులు కలిగియుందము, ఆయనే తొలకరి వర్షమును కడవరి వర్షమును దాని దాని కాలమున కురిపించు వాడు గదా; నిర్ణయింపబడిన కోతకాలపు వారములను ఆయన మనకు రప్పించునని తమ మనస్సులో అనుకొనరు.

24. ADONAI, correct me, but in moderation, not in your anger, or you'll reduce me to nothing.

25. మీ దోషములు వాటి క్రమమును తప్పించెను, మీకు మేలు కలుగకుండుటకు మీ పాపములే కారణము.

25. Pour out your anger on the nations that do not acknowledge you, also on the families that do not call on your name. For they have consumed Ya'akov- consumed him and finished him off, and laid waste to his home.
