1. ఫరో గాజాను కొట్టకమునుపు ఫిలిష్తీయులనుగూర్చి ప్రవక్తయైన యిర్మీయాకు ప్రత్యక్షమైన యెహోవా వాక్కు

1. So much of the word of Yahweh as came unto Jeremiah the prophet, Against the Philistines, before Pharaoh smote Gaza:

2. యెహోవా ఈలాగు సెలవిచ్చుచున్నాడు జలములు ఉత్తరదిక్కునుండి పొర్లి వరదలై మనుష్యులు మొఱ్ఱపెట్టునట్లుగాను దేశనివాసులందరు అంగలార్చునట్లు గాను, దేశముమీదను అందున్న సమస్తముమీదను పట్టణము మీదను దానిలో నివసించు వారిమీదను ప్రవహించును.

2. Thus, saith Yahweh Lo! waters rising from the North And they shall become a torrent overflowing, Which shall overflow The land and the fulness thereof, The city, and the dwellers therein, Then shall men make outcry, And all the inhabitants of the land, howl.

3. వారి బలమైన గుఱ్ఱముల డెక్కలు నేలతన్ను శబ్దమునకును, అతని రథముల వేగమునకును, అతని చక్రముల ఉరుము వంటి ధ్వనికిని తండ్రులు భయపడి బలహీనులై తమ పిల్లల తట్టు తిరిగి చూడరు.

3. Because of the sound of the tramping of the hoofs of his chargers, Because of the rushing of his chariots, the rumbling of his wheels Fathers shall not turn, to children, Because of the unnerving of their hands;

4. ఫిలిష్తీయులనందరిని లయపరచుటకును, తూరు సీదోనులకు సహాయకుడొకడైనను నిలువకుండ అందరిని నిర్మూలము చేయుటకును దినము వచ్చుచున్నది. యెహోవా కఫ్తోరు ద్వీపశేషులైన ఫిలిష్తీయులను నాశనము చేయును,

4. On account of the day that cometh to lay waste all the Philistines, To cut off from Tyre and Zidon every escaped one that could have helped, For Yahweh is laying waste the Philistines, The remnant of the Coastland of Caphtor.

5. గాజా బోడియాయెను, మైదానములో శేషించిన ఆష్కెలోను నాశనమాయెను. ఎన్నాళ్లవరకు నిన్ను నీవే గాయపరచుకొందువు?

5. Baldness hath come, upon Gaza, Silenced is Ashkelon the remnant of their vale, How long, wilt thou cut thyself?

6. యెహోవా ఖడ్గమా, యెంత వరకు విశ్రమింపక యుందువు? నీ వరలోనికి దూరి విశ్రమించి ఊరకుండుము.

6. Ah! thou sword of Yahweh, How long, wilt thou not be quiet? Withdraw into thy scabbard, Rest thyself and be still.

7. అష్కెలోనుమీదికిని సముద్ర తీరముమీదికిని పొమ్మని యెహోవా నీకు ఆజ్ఞ ఇచ్చి యున్నాడు గదా; నీవేలాగు విశ్రమించుదువు? అచ్చటికే పొమ్మని ఆయన ఖడ్గమునకు ఆజ్ఞ ఇచ్చియున్నాడు.

7. How, can it be quiet, when, Yahweh, hath given it a charge, against Ashkelon and against the shore of the sea? There, hath he appointed it!
