1. యోషీయా కుమారుడును యూదారాజునగు యెహోయాకీము ఏలుబడి ఆరంభములో యెహోవా యొద్దనుండి వాక్కు ప్రత్యక్షమై యీలాగు సెలవిచ్చెను.

1. Soon after Jehoiakim son of Josiah became king of Judah,

2. యెహోవా ఆజ్ఞ ఇచ్చునదేమనగా, నీవు యెహోవా మందిరావరణములో నిలిచి, నేను నీ కాజ్ఞాపించు మాటలన్నిటిని యెహోవా మందిరములో ఆరాధించుటకై వచ్చు యూదా పట్టణస్థులందరికి ప్రకటింపుము; వాటిలో ఒక మాటైనను చెప్పక విడవకూడదు.

2. the LORD said to me, 'Stand in the court of the Temple and proclaim all I have commanded you to say to the people who come from the towns of Judah to worship there. Do not leave out anything.

3. వారి దుర్మార్గమును బట్టి వారికి చేయదలచిన కీడును చేయక నేను సంతాపపడునట్లుగా వారు ఆలకించి తన దుర్మార్గము విడుచుదురేమో.

3. Perhaps the people will listen and give up their evil ways. If they do, then I will change my mind about the destruction I plan to bring on them for all their wicked deeds.'

4. నీవు వారితో ఈ మాట చెప్పవలెను. యెహోవా సెలవిచ్చునదేమనగా

4. The LORD told me to say to the people, 'I, the LORD, have said that you must obey me by following the teaching that I gave you,

5. మీరు నా మాటలు విని నేను మీకు నియమించిన ధర్మశాస్త్రము ననుసరించి నడుచు కొనుడనియు, నేను పెందలకడ లేచి పంపుచున్న నా సేవకులగు ప్రవక్తల మాటలను అంగీకరించుడనియు నేను మీకు ఆజ్ఞ ఇయ్యగా మీరు వినకపోతిరి.

5. and by paying attention to the words of my servants, the prophets, whom I have kept on sending to you. You have never obeyed what they said.

6. మీరీలాగున చేసినందున నేను షిలోహునకు చేసినట్లు ఈ మందిరమున కును చేసెదను, ఈ పట్టణమును భూమిమీదనున్న సమస్త జనములకు శాపాస్పదముగా చేసెదను.

6. If you continue to disobey, then I will do to this Temple what I did to Shiloh, and all the nations of the world will use the name of this city as a curse.'

7. యిర్మీయా యీ మాటలను యెహోవా మందిరములో పలుకుచుండగా యాజకులును ప్రవక్తలును జనులందరును వినిరి.

7. The priests, the prophets, and all the people heard me saying these things in the Temple,

8. జనుల కందరికిని ప్రకటింపవలెనని యెహోవా యిర్మీయాకు ఆజ్ఞాపించిన మాటలన్నిటిని అతడు పలికి చాలించిన తరువాత యాజకులును ప్రవక్తలును జనులందరును అతని పట్టుకొని నీవు మరణశిక్ష నొందక తప్పదు.

8. and as soon as I had finished all that the LORD had commanded me to speak, they grabbed me and shouted, 'You ought to be killed for this!

9. యెహోవా నామమునుబట్టి ఈ మందిరము షిలోహువలె నగుననియు, ఈ పట్టణము నివాసిలేక పాడైపోవుననియు నీవేల ప్రకటించుచున్నావు అనుచు, ప్రజలందరు యెహోవా మందిరములో యిర్మీయాయొద్దకు కూడివచ్చిరి.

9. Why have you said in the LORD's name that this Temple will become like Shiloh and that this city will be destroyed and no one will live in it?' Then the people crowded around me.

10. యూదా అధిపతులు ఆ సంగతులు విని రాజు నగరులో నుండి యెహోవా మందిరమునకు వచ్చి, యెహోవా మందిరపు క్రొత్త గవిని ద్వారమున కూర్చుండగా

10. When the leaders of Judah heard what had happened, they hurried from the royal palace to the Temple and took their places at the New Gate.

11. యాజకులును ప్రవక్తలును అధిపతులతోను సమస్త ప్రజల తోను ఈలాగనిరి మీరు చెవులార వినియున్న ప్రకారము, ఈ మనుష్యుడు ఈ పట్టణమునకు విరోధముగా ప్రవచించుచున్నాడు; గనుక ఇతడు మరణమునకు పాత్రుడు.

11. Then the priests and the prophets said to the leaders and to the people, 'This man deserves to be sentenced to death because he has spoken against our city. You heard him with your own ears.'

12. అప్పుడు యిర్మీయా అధిపతులందరితోను జనులందరితోను ఈ మాట చెప్పెనుఈ మందిరమునకు విరోధముగాను ఈ పట్టణమునకు విరోధముగాను మీరు వినిన మాటలన్నిటిని ప్రకటించుటకు యెహోవాయే నన్ను పంపియున్నాడు.

12. Then I said, 'The LORD sent me to proclaim everything that you heard me say against this Temple and against this city.

13. కాబట్టి యెహోవా మీకు చేసెదనని తాను చెప్పిన కీడునుగూర్చి ఆయన సంతాపపడునట్లు మీరు మీ మార్గములను మీ క్రియలను చక్కపరచుకొని మీ దేవుడైన యెహోవా మాట వినుడి.

13. You must change the way you are living and the things you are doing, and must obey the LORD your God. If you do, he will change his mind about the destruction that he said he would bring on you.

14. ఇదిగో నేను మీ వశములోనున్నాను, మీ దృష్టికేది మంచిదో యేది యుక్తమైనదో అదే నాకు చేయుడి.

14. As for me, I am in your power! Do with me whatever you think is fair and right.

15. అయితే మీకు చెవులార ఈ మాటలన్నిటిని చెప్పుటకు నిజముగా యెహోవా మీయొద్దకు నన్ను పంపియున్నాడు గనుక, మీరు నన్ను చంపినయెడల మీరు మీమీదికిని ఈ పట్టణముమీదికిని దాని నివాసుల మీదికిని నిరపరాధి రక్తదోషము తెప్పించుదురని నిస్సందేహముగా తెలిసికొనుడి.

15. But be sure of this: if you kill me, you and the people of this city will be guilty of killing an innocent man, because it is the LORD who sent me to give you this warning.'

16. కాగా అధిపతులును జనులందరును యాజకులతోను ప్రవక్తలతోను ఇట్లనిరి ఈ మనుష్యుడు మన దేవుడైన యెహోవా నామమునుబట్టి మనకు ఈ సమాచారము ప్రకటించుచున్నాడు గనుక ఇతడు మరణమునకు పాత్రుడు కాడు.

16. Then the leaders and the people said to the priests and the prophets, 'This man spoke to us in the name of the LORD our God; he should not be put to death.'

17. మరియు దేశమందలి పెద్దలలో కొందరు లేచి సమాజముగా కూడిన జనులతో ఈ మాటలు పలికిరి.

17. After that, some of the elders stood up and said to the people who had gathered,

18. యూదారాజైన హిజ్కియా దినములలో మోరష్తీయుడైన మీకా ప్రవచించుచుండెను. అతడు యూదా జనులందరితో ఇట్లు ప్రకటించుచు వచ్చెను సైన్యముల కధిపతియగు యెహోవా ఈలాగు సెలవిచ్చుచున్నాడు చేనుదున్నబడునట్లు మిమ్మునుబట్టి సీయోను దున్నబడును, యెరూషలేము రాళ్లకుప్పలగును, మందిరమున్న పర్వతము అరణ్యములోని ఉన్నతస్థలములవలె అగును.

18. 'When Hezekiah was king of Judah, the prophet Micah of Moresheth told all the people that the LORD Almighty had said, 'Zion will be plowed like a field; Jerusalem will become a pile of ruins, and the Temple hill will become a forest.'

19. అట్లు పలికి నందున యూదారాజైన హిజ్కియాయైనను యూదా జనులందరిలో మరి ఎవడైనను అతని చంపిరా? యెహోవా వారికి చేసెదనని తాను చెప్పిన కీడును చేయక సంతాప పడునట్లు రాజు యెహోవాయందు భయభక్తులు కలిగి యెహోవా దయను వేడుకొనెను గదా? మనము ఈ కార్యము చేసినయెడల మనమీదికే గొప్ప కీడు తెచ్చు కొందుము అని చెప్పిరి.

19. King Hezekiah and the people of Judah did not put Micah to death. Instead, Hezekiah honored the LORD and tried to win his favor. And the LORD changed his mind about the disaster that he said he would bring on them. Now we are about to bring a terrible disaster on ourselves.'

20. మరియు కిర్యత్యారీము వాడైన షెమయా కుమారుడగు ఊరియాయను ఒకడు యెహోవా నామమునుబట్టి ప్రవచించుచుండెను. అతడు యిర్మీయా చెప్పిన మాటల రీతిని యీ పట్టణమునకు విరోధముగాను ఈ దేశమునకు విరోధముగాను ప్రవచించెను.

20. (There was another man, Uriah son of Shemaiah from Kiriath Jearim, who spoke in the name of the LORD against this city and nation just as Jeremiah did.

21. రాజైన యెహోయాకీమును అతని శూరులందరును ప్రధానులందరును అతని మాటలు వినినమీదట రాజు అతని చంపజూచుచుండగా, ఊరియా దాని తెలిసికొని భయపడి పారిపోయి ఐగుప్తు చేరెను.

21. When King Jehoiakim and his soldiers and officials heard what Uriah had said, the king tried to have him killed. But Uriah heard about it; so he fled in terror and escaped to Egypt.

22. అప్పుడు రాజైన యెహోయాకీము అక్బోరు కుమారుడగు ఎల్నాతానును అతనితో కొందరిని ఐగుప్తునకు పంపెను;

22. King Jehoiakim, however, sent Elnathan son of Achbor and some other men to Egypt to get Uriah.

23. వారు ఐగుప్తులోనుండి ఊరియాను తీసి కొనివచ్చి రాజైన యెహోయాకీమునొద్ద చేర్చగా, ఇతడు ఖడ్గముతో అతని చంపి సామాన్యజనుల సమాధిలో అతని కళేబరమును వేయించెను.

23. They brought him back to King Jehoiakim, who had him killed and his body thrown into the public burial ground.)

24. ఈలాగు జరుగగా షాఫాను కుమారుడైన అహీకాము యిర్మీయాకు తోడైయున్నందున అతని చంపుటకు వారు జనుల చేతికి అతనిని అప్పగింపలేదు.

24. But because I had the support of Ahikam son of Shaphan, I was not handed over to the people and killed.
