1. రాజైన సిద్కియా మల్కీయా కుమారుడైన పషూరును యాజకుడగు మయశేయా కుమారుడైన జెఫన్యాను పిలిపించి

1. A message came to me from the Lord. It came when King Zedekiah sent Pashhur to me. Pashhur was the son of Malkijah. Zedekiah sent the priest Zephaniah along with him. Zephaniah was the son of Maaseiah. They said to me,

2. బబులోనురాజైన నెబుకద్రెజరు మనమీద యుద్ధముచేయుచున్నాడు; అతడు మనయొద్దనుండి వెళ్లి పోవునట్లు యెహోవా తన అద్భుతకార్యములన్నిటిని చూపి మనకు తోడైయుండునో లేదో దయచేసి మా నిమిత్తము యెహోవా చేత నీవు విచారించుమని చెప్పుటకు యిర్మీయాయొద్దకు వారిని పంపగా యెహోవాయొద్దనుండి యిర్మీయాకు ప్రత్యక్షమైన వాక్కు.

2. 'Ask the Lord to help us. Nebuchadnezzar is attacking us. He is king of Babylonia. In the past the Lord did wonderful things for us. Maybe he'll do them again. Then Nebuchadnezzar will pull his armies back from us.'

3. యిర్మీయా వారితో ఇట్లనెను మీరు సిద్కియాతో ఈ మాట చెప్పుడి

3. But I answered them, 'Tell Zedekiah and his people,

4. ఇశ్రాయేలు దేవుడైన యెహోవా ఈలాగు సెలవిచ్చుచున్నాడు బబులోను రాజుమీదను, మిమ్మును ముట్టడివేయు కల్దీయులమీదను, మీరుపయోగించుచున్న యుద్దాయుధములను ప్రాకారముల బయట నుండి తీసికొని యీ పట్టణము లోపలికి వాటిని పోగు చేయించెదను.

4. 'The Lord is the God of Israel. He says, 'The king of Babylonia and his armies are all around this city. They are getting ready to attack you. You have weapons of war in your hands to fight against them. But I am about to turn your weapons against you. And I will bring your enemies inside this city.

5. కోపమును రౌద్రమును అత్యుగ్రతయు కలిగినవాడనై, బాహుబలముతోను, చాచిన చేతితోను నేనే మీతో యుద్ధము చేసెదను.

5. ' ' 'I myself will fight against you. I will reach out my powerful hand and mighty arm. I will come against you with all of my burning anger.

6. మనుష్యులనేమి పశువులనేమి యీ పట్టణపు నివాసులనందరిని హతము చేసెదను; గొప్ప తెగులుచేత వారు చచ్చెదరు.

6. I will strike down those who live in this city. I will kill people and animals alike. They will die of a terrible plague.

7. అటు తరువాత నేను యూదాదేశపు రాజైన సిద్కియాను, అతని ఉద్యోగస్థులను, తెగులును ఖడ్గమును క్షామమును తప్పించుకొని శేషించిన ప్రజలను, బబులోనురాజైన నెబుకద్రెజరుచేతికి, వారి ప్రాణములను తీయజూచువారి శత్రువులచేతికి అప్పగించెదను. అతడు వారియందు అనుగ్రహముంచకయు, వారిని కరుణింపకయు, వారి యెడల జాలిపడకయు వారిని కత్తివాత హతముచేయును.

7. ' ' 'After that, I will hand you over to your enemies who want to kill you,' announces the Lord. 'I will hand over Zedekiah, the king of Judah. I will hand over his officials and the people in this city who live through the plague, war and hunger. All of them will be turned over to Nebuchadnezzar, the king of Babylonia. He will kill them with swords. He will not show them any kindness. He will not feel sorry for them. In fact, he will not have any concern for them at all.' '

8. ఈ ప్రజలతో నీవిట్లనుము యెహోవా సెలవిచ్చునదేమనగా జీవమార్గమును మరణమార్గమును నేను మీ యెదుట పెట్టుచున్నాను.

8. 'Tell the people, 'The Lord says, 'I am offering you a choice. You can choose the way that leads to life. Or you can choose the way that leads to death.

9. ఈ పట్టణములో నిలుచువారు కత్తివలన గాని క్షామమువలనగాని తెగులువలనగాని చచ్చెదరు, మేలుచేయుటకుకాదు కీడుచేయుటకే నేను ఈ పట్టణమునకు అభిముఖుడనైతిని గనుక బయటకు వెళ్లి మిమ్మును ముట్టడి వేయుచున్న కల్దీయులకు లోబడువారు బ్రదుకుదురు; దోపుడుసొమ్ము దక్కినట్లుగా వారి ప్రాణము వారికి దక్కును.

9. Those who stay in this city will die of war, hunger or plague. But those who go out and give themselves up to the Babylonians who are attacking you will live. They will escape with their lives.

10. ఈ పట్టణము బబులోను రాజుచేతికి అప్పగింపబడును, అతడు అగ్నిచేత దాని కాల్చివేయును; ఇదే యెహోవా వాక్కు.

10. ' ' 'I have decided to do this city harm and not good,' announces the Lord. 'It will be handed over to the king of Babylonia. And he will destroy it with fire.' '

11. 'Also speak to Judah's royal family. Tell them, 'Listen to the Lord's message.

12. దావీదు వంశస్థులారా, యెహోవా ఈలాగు సెలవిచ్చుచున్నాడు అనుదినము న్యాయముగా తీర్పు తీర్చుడి, దోచుకొనబడినవానిని బాధపెట్టువాని చేతిలోనుండి విడిపించుడి, ఆలాగు చేయనియెడల మీ దుష్టక్రియలనుబట్టి నా క్రోధము అగ్నివలె బయలువెడలి, యెవడును ఆర్పలేకుండ మిమ్మును దహించును.

12. The Lord says to you who belong to David's royal house, ' ' 'Every morning do what is right and fair. Save those who have been robbed. Set them free from the people who have treated them badly. If you do not, my anger will blaze out against you. It will burn like fire because of the evil things you have done. No one will be able to put it out.

13. యెహోవా వాక్కు ఇదేలోయలో నివసించుదానా, మైదానమందలి బండవంటిదానా, మా మీదికి రాగలవాడెవడు, మా నివాసస్థలములలో ప్రవేశించువాడెవడు? అనుకొనువార లారా,

13. Jerusalem, I am against you,' announces the Lord. 'You live above this valley. You are on a high, rocky flatland. And you say, 'Who can come against us? Who can enter our place of safety?'

14. మీ క్రియల ఫలములనుబట్టి మిమ్మును దండించెదను, నేను దాని అరణ్యములో అగ్ని రగుల బెట్టెదను, అది దాని చుట్టునున్న ప్రాంతములన్నిటిని కాల్చివేయును; ఇదే యెహోవా వాక్కు.

14. But I will punish you in keeping with what you have done,' announces the Lord. 'I will start a fire in your forests. It will burn up everything around you.' ' '
