1. ఇశ్రాయేలు వంశస్థులారా, యెహోవా మిమ్మును గూర్చి సెలవిచ్చిన మాట వినుడి.

1. Hear the word of the Lord, which He has spoken to you, O house of Israel.

2. యెహోవా సెలవిచ్చుచున్నదేమనగా అన్యజనముల ఆచారముల నభ్యసింపకుడి, ఆకాశమందు అగపడు చిహ్నములకు జనములు భయపడును, అయితే మీరు వాటికి భయపడకుడి.

2. Thus says the Lord: Learn not the ways of the heathen, and be not alarmed at the signs of the sky; for they are alarmed at them, [falling] on their faces.

3. జనముల ఆచారములు వ్యర్థములు, అడవిలో నొకడు చెట్టు నరకునట్లు అది నరకబడును, అది పనివాడు గొడ్డలితో చేసినపని.

3. For the customs of the nations are vain; it is a tree cut out of the forest, the work of the carpenter, or a molten image.

4. వెండి బంగారములచేత పనివారు దానిని అలంకరింతురు, అది కదలక యుండునట్లు మేకులు పెట్టి సుత్తెలతో బిగగొట్టి దాని నిలుపుదురు.

4. [They are] beautified with silver and gold, they fix them with hammers and nails;

5. అవి తాటిచెట్టు వలె తిన్నగా ఉన్నవి, అవి పలుకవు నడువనేరవు గనుక వాటిని మోయవలసివచ్చెను; వాటికి భయపడకుడి అవి హానిచేయ నేరవు మేలుచేయుట వాటివలనకాదు.

5. they will set them up that they may not move.

6. యెహోవా, నిన్ను పోలినవాడెవడును లేడు, నీవు మహాత్మ్యము గలవాడవు, నీ శౌర్యమునుబట్టి నీ నామము ఘన మైనదాయెను.

9. తర్షీషునుండి రేకులుగా సాగగొట్టబడిన వెండియు ఉపాజునుండి బంగారమును తెత్తురు, అది పని వాని పనియేగదా; పోతపోయువాడు దాని చేసెను, నీల ధూమ్రవర్ణములుగల వస్త్రములు వాటికున్నవి, అవన్నియు నేర్పరులగు పనివారి పనియే.

9. [brought] from Tarshish, gold will come from Uphaz, and the work of goldsmiths. [They are] all the works of craftsmen, they will clothe themselves with blue and scarlet.

10. They must certainly be borne, for they cannot ride [of themselves]. Fear them not, for they cannot do any evil, and there is no good in them.

11. Thus shall you say to them: Let the gods which have not made heaven and earth perish from off the earth, and from under this sky.

12. ఆయన తన బలముచేత భూమిని సృష్టించెను, తన జ్ఞానముచేత ప్రపంచమును స్థాపించెను, తన ప్రజ్ఞచేత ఆకాశమును విశాలపరచెను.

12. It is the Lord that made the earth by His strength, who set up the world by His wisdom, and by His understanding stretched out the sky,

13. ఆయన ఆజ్ఞ నియ్యగా జలరాసులు ఆకాశమండలములో పుట్టును, భూమ్యంత భాగములలోనుండి ఆయన ఆవిరి ఎక్క జేయును, వర్షము కలుగునట్లుగా ఆయన మెరుపులు పుట్టించును, తన ధనా గారములలోనుండి గాలిని రావించును.

13. and set abundance of waters in the sky, and brought up clouds from the ends of the earth. He made lightnings for the rain, and brought forth light out of His treasures.

14. తెలివిలేని ప్రతి మనుష్యుడు పశుప్రాయుడు, పోతపోయు ప్రతివాడును తాను చేసిన విగ్రహమును బట్టి అవమానము నొందు చున్నాడు; అతడు పోతపోసినది మాయారూపము, అందులో ప్రాణమేమియు లేదు.

14. Every man is deprived of knowledge, every goldsmith is confounded because of his graven images; for he has cast false gods, there is no breath in them.

15. అవి ఆశను చెడగొట్టు మాయాకార్యములు, విమర్శకాలములో అవి నశించి పోవును,

15. They are vain works, wrought in mockery; in the time of their visitation they shall perish.

16. యాకోబునకు స్వాస్థ్యమగువాడు వాటివంటి వాడు కాడు; ఆయన సమస్తమును నిర్మించువాడు, ఇశ్రాయేలు ఆయనకు స్వాస్థ్యముగానున్న గోత్రము; సైన్యములకధిపతియగు యెహోవాయని ఆయనకు పేరు.

16. Such is not the portion of Jacob; for He that formed all things, He is his inheritance; the Lord is His name.

17. నివాసినీ, ముట్టడివేయబడుచున్న దేశము విడిచి వెళ్లుటకై నీ సామగ్రిని కూర్చుకొనుము.

17. He has gathered your substance from without the lodged in choice [vessels].

18. యెహోవా ఈ మాట సెలవిచ్చుచున్నాడునేను ఈ వేళను ఈ దేశ నివాసులను విసరివేయుచున్నాను, వారు పట్టబడవలెనని వారిని ముట్టడి వేయించుచున్నాను.

18. For thus says the Lord: Behold, I [will] overthrow the inhabitants of this land with affliction, that your plague may be discovered.

19. కటకటా, నేను గాయపడితిని, నా దెబ్బ నొప్పి పెట్టుచున్నది, అయితే ఈ దెబ్బ నాకు తగినదే యనుకొని నేను దాని సహించు దును.

19. Alas for your ruin! Your plague is grievous. And I said, Surely this is your wound, and it has overtaken you.

20. నా గుడారము చినిగిపోయెను, నా త్రాళ్లన్నియు తెగిపోయెను, నా పిల్లలు నాయొద్దనుండి తొలగిపోయి యున్నారు, వారు లేకపోయిరి, ఇకమీదట నా గుడారమును వేయుటకైనను నా తెరల నెత్తుటకైనను ఎవడును లేడు.

20. Your tabernacle is in a ruinous state, it has perished; and all your curtains have been torn asunder. My children and my cattle are no more; there is no longer any place for my tent, [nor] place for my curtains.

21. కాపరులు పశుప్రాయులై యెహోవాయొద్ద విచారణచేయరు గనుక వారే వర్ధిల్లకయున్నారు, వారి మందలన్నియు చెదరిపోవుచున్నవి.

21. For the shepherds have become foolish, and have not sought the Lord; therefore the whole pasture has failed, and [the sheep] have been scattered.

22. ఆలకించుడి, ధ్వని పుట్టుచున్నది, దాని రాక ధ్వని వినబడుచున్నది, యూదా పట్టణములను పాడైన స్థలముగా చేయుటకును, నక్కలకు చోటుగా చేయుటకును ఉత్తరదేశమునుండి వచ్చుచున్న గొప్ప అల్లరి ధ్వని వినబడుచున్నది.

22. Behold, there comes a sound of a noise, and a great earthquake from the land of the north, to make the cities of Judah a desolation, and a resting place for ostriches.

23. యెహోవా, తమ మార్గము నేర్పరచుకొనుట నరులవశములో లేదనియు, మనుష్యులు తమ ప్రవర్తనయందు సన్మార్గమున ప్రవర్తించుట వారి వశములో లేదనియు నేనెరుగుదును.

23. I know, O Lord, that man's way is not his own; neither shall a man go, and direct his going.

24. యెహోవా, నీవు నన్ను బొత్తిగా తగ్గింపకుండునట్లు నీ కోపమునుబట్టి నన్ను శిక్షింపక నీ న్యాయవిధిని బట్టి నన్ను శిక్షింపుము.

24. Chasten us, O Lord, but with judgment; and not in wrath, lest You make us few [in number].

25. నిన్నెరుగని అన్యజనులమీదను నీ నామమునుబట్టి ప్రార్థింపని వంశములమీదను నీ ఉగ్రతను కుమ్మరించుము; వారు యాకోబును మింగివేయుచున్నారు, నిర్మూలము చేయవలెనని వారు అతని మింగివేయుచున్నారు, వాని నివాసమును పాడుచేయుచున్నారు.

25. Pour out Your wrath upon the nations that have not known You, and upon the families that have not called upon Your name; for they have devoured Jacob, and consumed him, and have made his pasture desolate.
