1. హిజ్కియా విని తన బట్టలు చింపుకొని గోనెపట్ట కట్టుకొని యెహోవా మందిరమునకుపోయి

1. As soon as Hezekiah heard the news, he tore off his clothes in sorrow and put on sackcloth. Then he went into the temple of the LORD.

2. గృహ నిర్వాహకుడగు ఎల్యాకీమును, శాస్త్రియగు షెబ్నాను, యాజకులలో పెద్దలను, ఆమోజు కుమారుడును ప్రవక్తయు నైన యెషయాయొద్దకు పంపెను.

2. He told Prime Minister Eliakim, Assistant Prime Minister Shebna, and the senior priests to dress in sackcloth and tell me:

3. వీరు గోనెపట్ట కట్టు కొనినవారై అతనియొద్దకు వచ్చి అతనితో ఇట్లనిరిహిజ్కియా సెలవిచ్చునదేమనగాఈ దినము శ్రమయు శిక్షయు దూషణయు గల దినము, పిల్లలు పుట్టవచ్చిరి గాని కనుటకు శక్తి చాలదు.

3. Isaiah, these are difficult and disgraceful times. Our nation is like a woman too weak to give birth, when it's time for her baby to be born.

4. జీవముగల దేవుని దూషించు టకై అష్షూరురాజైన తన యజమానునిచేత పంపబడిన రబ్షాకే పలికిన మాటలు నీ దేవుడైన యెహోవా ఒకవేళ ఆలకించి, నీ దేవుడైన యెహోవాకు వినబడియున్న ఆ మాటలనుబట్టి ఆయన అష్షూరురాజును గద్దించునేమో. కాబట్టి నిలిచిన శేషముకొరకు నీవు హెచ్చుగా ప్రార్థన చేయుము.

4. Please pray for those of us who are left alive. The king of Assyria sent his army commander to insult the living God. Perhaps the LORD heard what he said and will do something, if you will pray.

5. రాజైన హిజ్కియా సేవకులు యెషయా యొద్దకు రాగా

5. When these leaders came to me,

6. యెషయా వారితో ఇట్లనెనుమీ యజమానునికి ఈ మాట తెలియజేయుడి; యెహోవా సెలవిచ్చునదేమనగా అష్షూరురాజు సేవకులు నన్ను దూషింపగా నీవు వినిన మాటలకు భయపడవద్దు.

6. I told them that the LORD had this message for Hezekiah: I am the LORD. Don't worry about the insulting things that have been said about me by these messengers from the king of Assyria.

7. అతనిలో ఒక ఆత్మను నేను పుట్టింతును; వదంతి విని తన దేశమునకు వెళ్లిపోవును. అతని దేశమందు ఖడ్గముచేత అతనిని కూలజేయుదును.

7. I will upset him with rumors about what's happening in his own country. He will go back, and there I will make him die a violent death.

8. అష్షూరురాజు లాకీషు పట్టణమును విడిచి వెళ్లి లిబ్నా మీద యుద్ధము చేయుచుండగా రబ్షాకే పోయి అతని కలిసికొనెను.

8. Meanwhile the commander of the Assyrian forces heard that his king had left the town of Lachish and was now attacking Libnah. So he went there.

9. అంతట కూషురాజైన తిర్హాకా తన మీద యుద్ధము చేయుటకు వచ్చెనని అష్షూరు రాజునకు వినబడినప్పుడు అతడు హిజ్కియాయొద్దకు దూతలను పంపి యీలాగు ఆజ్ఞ ఇచ్చెను.

9. About this same time, the king of Assyria learned that King Tirhakah of Ethiopia was on his way to attack him. Then the king of Assyria sent some messengers with this note for Hezekiah:

10. యూదా రాజగు హిజ్కి యాతో ఈలాగు చెప్పుడియెరూషలేము అష్షూరురాజు చేతికి అప్పగింపబడదని చెప్పి నీవు నమ్ముకొనియున్న నీ దేవునిచేత మోసపోకుము.

10. Don't trust your God or be fooled by his promise to defend Jerusalem against me.

11. అష్షూరురాజులు సకలదేశము లను బొత్తిగా నశింపజేసిన సంగతి నీకు వినబడినది గదా; నీవుమాత్రము తప్పించుకొందువా?

11. You have heard how we Assyrian kings have completely wiped out other nations. What makes you feel so safe?

12. నా పితరులు నిర్మూ లముచేసిన గోజానువారు గాని హారానువారు గాని రెజెపులు గాని తెలశ్శారులోనుండిన ఏదెనీయులు గాని తమ దేవతల సహాయమువలన తప్పించుకొనిరా?

12. The Assyrian kings before me destroyed the towns of Gozan, Haran, Rezeph, and everyone from Eden who lived in Telassar. What good did their gods do them?

13. హమాతు రాజు ఏమాయెను? అర్పాదురాజును సెపర్వయీము హేన ఇవ్వా అను పట్టణముల రాజులును ఏమైరి? అని వ్రాసిరి

13. The kings of Hamath, Arpad, Sepharvaim, Hena, and Ivvah have all disappeared.

14. హిజ్కియా దూతలచేతిలోనుండి ఆ ఉత్తరము తీసికొని చదివి యెహోవా మందిరములోనికి పోయి యెహోవా సన్నిధిని దాని విప్పి పరచి

14. After Hezekiah had read the note from the king of Assyria, he took it to the temple and spread it out for the LORD to see.

15. యెహోవా సన్నిధిని ఇట్లని ప్రార్థనచేసెను

15. Then he prayed:

16. యెహోవా, కెరూ బుల మధ్యను నివసించుచున్న ఇశ్రాయేలీయుల దేవా, భూమ్యాకాశములను కలుగజేసిన అద్వితీయ దేవా, నీవు లోకమందున్న సకల రాజ్యములకు దేవుడవై యున్నావు.

16. LORD God All-Powerful of Israel, your throne is above the winged creatures. You created the heavens and the earth, and you alone rule the kingdoms of this world.

17. సైన్యముల కధిపతివగు యెహోవా, చెవి యొగ్గి ఆలకిం చుము; యెహోవా, కన్నులు తెరచి దృష్టించుము; జీవము గల దేవుడవైన నిన్ను దూషించుటకై సన్హెరీబు పంపిన వాని మాటలను చెవినిబెట్టుము.

17. Just look and see how Sennacherib has insulted you, the living God.

18. యెహోవా, అష్షూరు రాజులు ఆ జనములను వారి దేశములను పాడు చేసి

18. It is true, our LORD, that Assyrian kings have turned nations into deserts.

19. వారి దేవతలను అగ్నిలో వేసినది నిజమే. ఆ రాజ్యముల దేవతలు నిజమైన దేవుడు కాక మనుష్యులచేత చేయబడిన కఱ్ఱలు రాళ్లు గాని దేవతలు కావు గనుక వారు వారిని నిర్మూలముచేసిరి.

19. They destroyed the idols of wood and stone that the people of those nations had made and worshiped.

20. యెహోవా, లోకమందున్న నీవే నిజముగా నీవే అద్వితీయ దేవుడవైన యెహోవా వని సమస్త జనులు తెలిసికొనునట్లు అతని చేతిలోనుండి మమ్మును రక్షించుము.

20. But you are our LORD and our God! We ask you to keep us safe from the Assyrian king. Then everyone in every kingdom on earth will know that you are the only LORD.

21. అంతట ఆమోజు కుమారుడైన యెషయా హిజ్కియా యొద్దకు ఈ వర్తమానము పంపెనుఇశ్రాయేలీయుల దేవు డగు యెహోవా సెలవిచ్చునదేమనగా అష్షూరు రాజైన సన్హెరీబు విషయమందు నీవు నా యెదుట ప్రార్థన చేసితివే.

21. I went to Hezekiah and told him that the LORD God of Israel had said: Hezekiah, you prayed to me about King Sennacherib of Assyria. Now this is what I say to that king: The people of Jerusalem hate and make fun of you; they laugh behind your back.

22. అతనిగూర్చి యెహోవా సెలవిచ్చుమాట ఏదనగా సీయోను కుమారియైన కన్యక నిన్ను దూషణ చేయు చున్నది ఆమె నిన్ను అపహాస్యము చేయుచున్నది యెరూషలేము కుమారి నిన్ను చూచి తల ఊచు చున్నది.

23. నీవు ఎవరిని తిరస్కరించితివి? ఎవరిని దూషించితివి? నీవు గర్వించి యెవరిని భయపెట్టితివి? ఇశ్రాయేలీయుల పరిశుద్ధదేవునినే గదా?

23. Sennacherib, you cursed, shouted, and sneered at me, the holy God of Israel.

24. నీ దూతలచేత యెహోవాను తిరస్కరించి నీ వీలాగు పలికితివి నా రథముల సముదాయముతో నేను పర్వత శిఖర ముల మీదికిని లెబానోను పార్శ్వములకును ఎక్కియున్నాను ఎత్తుగల దాని దేవదారు వృక్షములను శ్రేష్ఠమైన సరళవృక్షములను నరికివేసియున్నాను వాని దూరపు సరిహద్దులలోనున్న సత్రములలోనికిని కర్మెలు ఫలవంతములగు క్షేత్రమైన అడవి లోనికిని ప్రవేశించియున్నాను.

24. You let your officials insult me, the Lord. And here is what you have said about yourself, 'I led my chariots to the highest heights of Lebanon's mountains. I went deep into its forest, cutting down the best cedar and cypress trees.

25. నేను త్రవ్వి నీళ్లు పానముచేసియున్నాను నా అరకాలిచేత నేను దిట్టమైన స్థలముల నదుల నన్నిటిని ఎండిపోచేసియున్నాను

25. I dried up every stream in the land of Egypt, and I drank water from wells I had dug.'

26. నేనే పూర్వమందే దీని కలుగజేసితిననియు పురాతన కాలమందే దీని నిర్ణయించితిననియు నీకు వినబడలేదా? ప్రాకారములుగల పట్టణములను నీవు పాడు దిబ్బలుగా చేయుట నా వలననే సంభవించినది.

26. Sennacherib, now listen to me, the LORD. I planned all of this long ago. And you don't even know that I alone am the one who decided that you would do these things. I let you make ruins of fortified cities.

27. కాబట్టి వాటి కాపురస్థులు బలహీనులై జడిసిరి. విభ్రాంతినొంది పొలములోని గడ్డివలెను కాడవేయని చేలవలెను అయిరి.

27. Their people became weak, terribly confused. They were like wild flowers or like tender young grass growing on a flat roof or like a field of grain before it matures.

28. నీవు కూర్చుండుటయు బయలువెళ్లుటయు లోపలికి వచ్చుటయు నామీదవేయు రంకెలును నాకు తెలిసేయున్నవి.

28. I know all about you, even how fiercely angry you are with me.

29. నామీద నీవు వేయు రంకెలును నీవు చేసిన కలహమును నా చెవులలో జొచ్చెను నా గాలము నీ ముక్కునకు తగిలించెదను నా కళ్లెము నీ నోటిలో పెట్టి నిన్ను మళ్లించెదను నీవు వచ్చిన మార్గముననే నిన్ను మళ్లించెదను.

29. I have seen your pride and the tremendous hatred you have for me. Now I will put a hook in your nose, a bit in your mouth, then I will send you back to where you came from.

30. మరియు యెషయా చెప్పినదేమనగాహిజ్కియా, నీకిదే సూచనయగును. ఈ సంవత్సరమందు దాని అంతట అదే పండు ధాన్యమును, రెండవ సంవత్సరమందు దానినుండి కలుగు ధాన్యమును మీరు భుజింతురు. మూడవ సంవత్సరమున మీరు విత్తనము విత్తి చేలు కోయుదురు; ద్రాక్షతోటలు నాటి వాటిఫలము ననుభవించుదురు.

30. Hezekiah, I will tell you what's going to happen. This year you will eat crops that grow on their own, and the next year you will eat whatever springs up where those crops grew. But the third year, you will plant grain and vineyards, and you will eat what you harvest.

31. యూదా వంశములో తప్పించు కొనిన శేషము ఇంకను క్రిందికి వేరు తన్ని మీదికి ఎదిగి ఫలించును.

31. Those who survive in Judah will be like a vine that puts down deep roots and bears fruit.

32. శేషించు వారు యెరూషలేములో నుండి బయలుదేరుదురు, తప్పించు కొనినవారు సీయోను కొండలోనుండి బయలుదేరుదురు; సైన్య ములకధిపతియగు యెహోవా ఆసక్తి దీని నెర వేర్చును.

32. I, the LORD All-Powerful, will see to it that some who live in Jerusalem will survive.

33. కాబట్టి అష్షూరురాజునుగూర్చి యెహోవా సెలవిచ్చున దేమనగా అతడు ఈ పట్టణములోనికి రాడు; దానిమీద ఒక బాణమైన ప్రయోగింపడు; ఒక కేడెము నైన దానికి కనుపరచడు; దానియెదుట ముట్టడి దిబ్బ కట్టడు.

33. I promise that the king of Assyria won't get into Jerusalem, or shoot an arrow into the city, or even surround it and prepare to attack.

34. ఈ పట్టణము లోపలికి రాక తాను వచ్చిన మార్గముననే అతడు తిరిగి పోవును; ఇదే యెహోవా వాక్కు.

34. As surely as I am the LORD, he will return by the way he came and will never enter Jerusalem.

35. నా నిమిత్తమును నా సేవకుడైన దావీదు నిమిత్తమును నేను ఈ పట్టణమును కాపాడి రక్షించుదును.

35. I will protect it for the sake of my own honor and because of the promise I made to my servant David.

36. అంతట యెహోవా దూత బయలుదేరి అష్షూరువారి దండు పేటలో లక్ష యెనుబదియైదువేలమందిని మొత్తెను; ఉదయమున జనులు లేవగా వారందరును మృతకళేబరములుగా ఉండిరి.

36. The LORD sent an angel to the camp of the Assyrians, and he killed one hundred eighty-five thousand of them all in one night. The next morning, the camp was full of dead bodies.

37. అష్షూరురాజైన సన్హెరీబు తిరిగిపోయి నీనెవె పట్టణమునకు వచ్చి నివసించిన తరువాత

37. After this, King Sennacherib went back to Assyria and lived in the city of Nineveh.

38. అతడు నిస్రోకు అను తన దేవత మందిరమందు మ్రొక్కు చుండగా అతని కుమారులైన అద్రమ్మెలెకును షెరెజెరును ఖడ్గముతో అతని చంపి ఆరారాతుదేశములోనికి తప్పించు కొనిపోయిరి. అప్పుడు అతని కుమారుడైన ఎసర్హద్దోను అతనికి మారుగా రాజాయెను.

38. One day he was worshiping in the temple of his god Nisroch, when his sons, Adrammelech and Sharezer, killed him with their swords. They escaped to the land of Ararat, and his son Esarhaddon became king.
