1. హిజ్కియా రాజుయొక్క పదునాలుగవ సంవత్సర మున అష్షూరురాజైన సన్హెరీబు యూదా దేశములోని ప్రాకారముగల పట్టణములన్నిటిమీదికి వచ్చి వాటిని పట్టుకొనెను.

1. Hezekiah had been king of Judah for fourteen years when King Sennacherib of Assyria invaded the country and captured every walled city

2. అంతట అష్షూరు రాజు రబ్షాకేను లాకీషు పట్టణమునుండి యెరూషలేమునందున్న రాజైనహిజ్కియా మీదికి బహు గొప్ప సేనతో పంపెను. వారు చాకి రేవు మార్గమందున్న మెరకకొలను కాలువయొద్ద ప్రవేశింపగా

2. except Jerusalem. The Assyrian king ordered his army commander to leave the city of Lachish and to take a large army to Jerusalem. The commander went there and stood on the road near the cloth makers' shops along the canal from the upper pool.

3. హిల్కీయా కూమారుడును రాజు గృహనిర్వాహ కుడును నైన ఎల్యాకీమును శాస్త్రియగు షెబ్నాయును, రాజ్యపు దస్తావేజులమీదనున్న ఆసాపు కుమారుడగు యోవాహును వారియొద్దకు పోయిరి.

3. Three of the king's highest officials came out of Jerusalem to meet him. One of them was Hilkiah's son Eliakim, who was the prime minister. The other two were Shebna, assistant to the prime minister, and Joah son of Asaph, keeper of the government records.

4. అప్పుడు రబ్షాకే వారితో ఇట్లనెనుఈ మాట హిజ్కియాతో తెలియ జెప్పుడిమహారాజైన అష్షూరురాజు సెలవిచ్చినదేమనగా నీవీలాగు చెప్పవలెను. నీవు నమ్ముకొను ఈ ఆశ్రయాస్పదుడు ఏపాటి ప్రయోజనకారి?

4. The Assyrian commander told them: I have a message for Hezekiah from the great king of Assyria. Ask Hezekiah why he feels so sure of himself.

5. యుద్ధవిషయములో నీ యోచనయు నీ బలమును వట్టిమాటలే. ఎవని నమ్ముకొని నామీద తిరుగుబాటు చేయుచున్నావు?

5. Does he think he can plan and win a war with nothing but words? Who is going to help him, now that he has turned against the king of Assyria?

6. నలిగిన రెల్లువంటి యీ ఐగుప్తును నీవు నమ్ముకొనుచున్నావు గదా; ఒకడు దానిమీద ఆనుకొన్నయెడల అది వాని చేతికి గుచ్చుకొని దూసిపోవును. ఐగుప్తురాజైన ఫరో అతని నమ్ముకొనువారికందరికి అట్టివాడే.

6. Is he depending on Egypt and its king? That's the same as leaning on a broken stick, and it will go right through his hand.

7. మా దేవుడైన యెహోవాను మేము నమ్ముకొనుచున్నామని మీరు నాతో చెప్పెదరేమో సరే; యెరూషలేమందున్న యీ బలిపీఠము నొద్ద మాత్రమే మీరు నమస్కారము చేయవలెనని యూదావారికిని యెరూషలేమువారికిని ఆజ్ఞ ఇచ్చి, హిజ్కియా యెవని ఉన్నత స్థలములను బలిపీఠములను పడగొట్టెనో ఆయనేగదా యెహోవా.

7. Is Hezekiah now depending on the LORD, your God? Didn't Hezekiah tear down all except one of the LORD's altars and places of worship? Didn't he tell the people of Jerusalem and Judah to worship at that one place?

8. కావున చిత్తగించి అష్షూరు రాజైన నా యేలినవానితో పందెము వేయుము; రెండు వేల గుఱ్ఱములమీద రౌతులను ఎక్కించుటకు నీకు శక్తి యున్నయెడల నేను వాటిని నీకిచ్చెదను.

8. The king of Assyria wants to make a bet with you people! He will give you two thousand horses, if you have enough troops to ride them.

9. లేనియెడల నా యజమానుని సేవకులలో అత్యల్పుడైన అధిపతియగు ఒకని నీవేలాగు ఎదిరింతువు? రథములను రౌతులను పంపునని ఐగుప్తురాజును నీవు ఆశ్రయించు కొంటివే.

9. How could you even defeat our lowest ranking officer, when you have to depend on Egypt for chariots and cavalry?

10. యెహోవా సెలవు నొందకయే యీ దేశమును పాడుచేయుటకు నేను వచ్చితినా? లేదు ఆ దేశముమీదికి పోయి దాని పాడుచేయుమని యెహోవా నాకు ఆజ్ఞ ఇచ్చెను అని చెప్పెను.

10. Don't forget that it was the LORD who sent me here with orders to destroy your nation!

11. ఎల్యాకీము షెబ్నా యోవాహు అను వారుచిత్తగించుము నీ దాసులమైన మాకు సిరియా భాష తెలియును గనుక దానితో మాట లాడుము, ప్రాకారముమీదనున్న ప్రజల వినికిడిలో యూదుల భాషతో మాటలాడకుమని రబ్షాకేతో అనగా

11. Eliakim, Shebna, and Joah said, 'Sir, we don't want the people listening from the city wall to understand what you are saying. So please speak to us in Aramaic instead of Hebrew.'

12. రబ్షాకేఈ మాటలు చెప్పుటకై నా యజమానుడు నీ యజమానునియొద్దకును నీయొద్దకును నన్ను పంపెనా? తమ మలమును తినునట్లును తమ మూత్రమును త్రాగునట్లును మీతోకూడ ప్రాకారముమీద ఉన్న వారియొద్దకును నన్ను పంపెను గదా అని చెప్పి

12. The Assyrian army commander answered, 'My king sent me to speak to everyone, not just to you leaders. These people will soon have to eat their own body waste and drink their own urine! And so will the three of you!'

13. గొప్ప శబ్దముతో యూదాభాషతో ఇట్లనెనుమహారాజైన అష్షూరురాజు సెలవిచ్చిన మాటలు వినుడి. రాజు సెల విచ్చునదేమనగా

13. Then, in a voice loud enough for everyone to hear, he shouted out in Hebrew: Listen to what the great king of Assyria says!

14. హిజ్కియాచేత మోసపోకుడి; మిమ్మును విడిపింప శక్తి వానికి చాలదు.

14. Don't be fooled by Hezekiah. He can't save you.

15. యెహోవాను బట్టి మిమ్మును నమ్మించియెహోవా మనలను విడిపించును; ఈ పట్టణము అష్షూరు రాజు చేతిలో చిక్కక పోవునని హిజ్కియా చెప్పుచున్నాడే.

15. Don't trust him when he tells you that the LORD will protect you from the king of Assyria.

16. హిజ్కియా చెప్పిన మాట మీరంగీకరింపవలదు; అష్షూరురాజు సెలవిచ్చున దేమనగా నాతో సంధి చేసికొని నాయొద్దకు మీరు బయటికి వచ్చినయెడల మీలో ప్రతి మనిషి తన ద్రాక్ష చెట్టు ఫలమును తన అంజూరపు చెట్టు ఫలమును తినుచు తన బావి నీళ్లు త్రాగుచు నుండును.

16. Stop listening to Hezekiah. Pay attention to my king. Surrender to him. He will let you keep your own vineyards, fig trees, and cisterns

17. అటుపిమ్మట మీరు చావక బ్రదుకునట్లుగా నేను వచ్చి మీ దేశమువంటి దేశమునకు, అనగా గోధుమలును ద్రాక్షారసమును గల దేశమునకును ఆహారమును ద్రాక్షచెట్లునుగల దేశమునకును మిమ్మును తీసికొని పోదును; యెహోవా మిమ్మును విడిపించునని చెప్పి హిజ్కియా మిమ్మును మోసపుచ్చు చున్నాడు.

17. for a while. Then he will come and take you away to a country just like yours, where you can plant vineyards and raise your own grain.

18. ఆయా జనముల దేవతలలో ఏదైనను తన దేశమును అష్షూరు రాజు చేతిలోనుండి విడిపించెనా? హమాతు దేవతలేమాయెను?

18. Hezekiah claims the LORD will save you. But don't be fooled by him. Were any other gods able to defend their land against the king of Assyria?

19. అర్పాదు దేవతలేమాయెను? సెపర్వయీము దేవతలేమాయెను? షోమ్రోను దేశపు దేవత నా చేతిలోనుండి షోమ్రోనును విడిపించెనా?

19. What happened to the gods of Hamath, Arpad, and Sepharvaim? Were the gods of Samaria able to protect their land against the Assyrian forces?

20. యెహోవా నా చేతిలో నుండి యెరూషలేమును విడిపించుననుటకు ఈ దేశముల దేవతలలో ఏదైనను తన దేశమును నా చేతిలోనుండి విడిపించినది కలదా? అని చెప్పెను.

20. None of these gods kept their people safe from the king of Assyria. Do you think the LORD, your God, can do any better?

21. అయితే అతనికి ప్రత్యుత్తర మియ్యవద్దని రాజు సెలవిచ్చి యుండుటచేత వారెంతమాత్రమును ప్రత్యుత్తరమియ్యక ఊరకొనిరి.

21. Eliakim, Shebna, and Joah had been warned by King Hezekiah not to answer the Assyrian commander. So they tore their clothes in sorrow and reported to Hezekiah everything the commander had said.

22. గృహనిర్వాహకుడును హిల్కీయా కుమారుడునైన ఎల్యాకీమును, శాస్త్రియగు షెబ్నాయును, రాజ్యపు దస్తావేజులమీదనున్న ఆసాపు కుమారుడగు యోవాహును బట్టలు చింపుకొని హిజ్కియాయొద్దకు వచ్చి రబ్షాకే పలికిన మాటలన్నియు తెలియజెప్పిరి.
