1. ప్రతిదానికి సమయము కలదు. ఆకాశము క్రింద ప్రతి ప్రయత్నమునకు సమయము కలదు.

1. Every thing hath a time, yea all that is under the heaven, hath his convenient season.

2. పుట్టుటకు, చచ్చుటకు; నాటుటకు నాటబడినదాని పెరికివేయుటకు,

2. There is a time to be born, and a time to die. there is a time to plant, and a time to pluck up the thing, that is planted:

3. చంపుటకు బాగుచేయుటకు; పడగొట్టుటకు కట్టుటకు;

3. A time to slay, and a time to make whole: A time to break down, and a time to build up:

4. ఏడ్చుటకు నవ్వుటకు; దుఃఖించుటకు నాట్యమాడుటకు;

4. A time to weep, and a time to laugh: A time to mourn, and a time to dance:

5. రాళ్లను పారవేయుటకు రాళ్లను కుప్పవేయుటకు; కౌగలించుటకు కౌగలించుట మానుటకు;

5. A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together: A time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing:

6. వెదకుటకు పోగొట్టు కొనుటకు, దాచు కొనుటకు పారవేయుటకు;

6. A time to win, and a time to lese: A time to spare, and a time to spend:

7. చింపుటకు కుట్టుటకు; మౌనముగా నుండుటకు మాటలాడుటకు;

7. A time to cut in pieces, and a time to sew together: A time to keep silence, and a time to speak:

8. ప్రేమించుటకు ద్వేషించుటకు; యుద్ధము చేయుటకు సమాధానపడుటకు.

8. A time to love, and a time to hate: A time of war, and a time of peace.

9. కష్టపడినవారికి తమ కష్టమువలన వచ్చిన లాభమేమి?

9. What hath a man else (that doth anything) but weariness and labour?

10. నరులు అభ్యాసము పొందవలెనని దేవుడు వారికి పెట్టియున్న కష్టానుభవమును నేను చూచితిని.

10. For as touching the travail and carefulness which God hath given unto men, I see that he hath given it them, to be exercised in it.

11. దేనికాలమునందు అది చక్కగా నుండునట్లు సమస్తమును ఆయన నియమించియున్నాడు; ఆయన శాశ్వతకాల జ్ఞానమును నరుల హృదయమందుంచి యున్నాడుగాని దేవుడు చేయుక్రియలను పరిశీలనగా తెలిసికొనుటకు అది చాలదు.

11. All this hath he ordained marvelous goodly, to every thing his due time. He hath planted(plated) ignorance also in the hearts of men, that they should not find out the ground of his works, which he doth from the beginning to the end.

12. కావున సంతోషముగా నుండుటకంటెను తమ బ్రదుకును సుఖముగా వెళ్లబుచ్చుట కంటెను, శ్రేష్ఠమైనదేదియు నరులకు లేదని నేను తెలిసి కొంటిని.

12. So I perceived, that in these things there is nothing better for a man, then to be merry and to do well so long as he liveth.

13. మరియు ప్రతివాడు అన్నపానములు పుచ్చు కొనుచు తన కష్టార్జితమువలన సుఖమనుభవించుట దేవుడిచ్చు బహుమానమే అని తెలిసికొంటిని.

13. For all that a man eateth and drinketh, yea what soever a man enjoyeth of all his labor, the same is a gift of God.

14. దేవుడు చేయు పనులన్నియు శాశ్వతములని నేను తెలిసికొంటిని; దాని కేదియు చేర్చబడదు దానినుండి ఏదియు తీయబడదు; మనుష్యులు తనయందు భయభక్తులు కలిగియుండునట్లు దేవుడిట్టి నియమము చేసియున్నాడు.

14. I considered also that whatsoever God doth, it continueth for ever, and that nothing can be put unto it, nor taken from it: And that God doth it to the intent, that men should fear him.

15. ముందు జరిగినదే ఇప్పుడును జరుగును; జరుగబోవునది పూర్వమందు జరిగినదే; జరిగిపోయినదానిని దేవుడు మరల రప్పించును.

15. The thing that hath been, is now: and the thing that is for to come, hath been afore time, for God restoreth again the thing that was past.

16. మరియు లోకమునందు విమర్శస్థానమున దుర్మార్గత జరుగుటయు, న్యాయముండవలసిన స్థానమున దుర్మార్గత జరుగుటయు నాకు కనబడెను.

16. Moreover, I saw under the sun ungodliness in the stead of judgment, and iniquity in stead of righteousness.

17. ప్రతి ప్రయత్నమునకును ప్రతి క్రియకును తగిన సమయ మున్నదనియు, నీతిమంతుల కును దుర్మార్గులకును దేవుడే తీర్పు తీర్చుననియు నా హృదయములో నేననుకొంటిని.

17. Then thought I in my mind: God shall separate the righteous from the ungodly, and then shall be the time and judgement of all counsels and works.

18. కాగా తాము మృగములవంటివారని నరులు తెలిసికొనునట్లును, దేవుడు వారిని విమర్శించునట్లును ఈలాగు జరుగుచున్నదని అను కొంటిని.

18. I communed(comoned) with mine own heart also concerning the children of men: how God hath chosen them, and yet letteth them appear as though they were beasts:

19. నరులకు సంభవించునది యేదో అదే, మృగ ములకు సంభవించును; వారికిని వాటికిని కలుగు గతి ఒక్కటే; నరులు చచ్చునట్లు మృగములును చచ్చును; సకల జీవులకు ఒక్కటే ప్రాణము; మృగములకంటె నరుల కేమియు ఎక్కువలేదు; సమస్తమును వ్యర్థము.

19. For it happeneth unto men as it doth unto beasts, and as the one dieth, so dieth the other: yea they have both one manner of breath, so that (in this) a man hath no preeminence above a beast, but all are subdued unto vanity.

20. సమస్తము ఒక్క స్థలమునకే పోవును; సమస్తము మంటిలోనుండి పుట్టెను, సమస్తము మంటికే తిరిగిపోవును.

20. They go all unto one place, for as they be all of dust, so shall they all turn unto dust again.

21. నరుల ఆత్మ పరమున కెక్కిపోవునో లేదో, మృగముల ప్రాణము భూమికి దిగిపోవునో లేదో యెవరికి తెలియును?

21. Who knoweth the spirit of man that goeth upward, and the breath of the beast that goeth down into the earth?

22. కాగా తమకు తరువాత జరుగుదానిని చూచుటకై నరుని తిరిగి లేపికొనిపోవువాడెవడును లేకపోవుట నేను చూడగా వారు తమ క్రియలయందు సంతోషించుటకంటె వారికి మరి ఏ మేలును లేదను సంగతి నేను తెలిసికొంటిని; ఇదే వారి భాగము.

22. Wherefore I perceive, that there is nothing better for a man, than to be joyful in his labour, for that is his portion. But who will bring him to see the thing that shall come after him?
