1. జ్ఞానముగల కుమారుడు తండ్రిని సంతోషపరచును బుద్ధిలేని కుమారుడు తన తల్లికి దుఃఖము పుట్టించును.

2. భక్తిహీనుల ధనము వారికి లాభకరము కాదు నీతి మరణమునుండి రక్షించును.

3. యెహోవా నీతిమంతుని ఆకలిగొననియ్యడు భక్తిహీనుని ఆశను భంగముచేయును.

3. The LORD satisfies the appetite of the righteous, but he thwarts the craving of the wicked.

4. బద్ధకముగా పనిచేయువాడు దరిద్రుడగును శ్రద్ధగలవాడు ఐశ్వర్యవంతుడగును.

4. The one who is lazy becomes poor, but the one who works diligently becomes wealthy.

5. వేసవికాలమున కూర్చువాడు బుద్ధిగల కుమారుడు కోతకాలమందు నిద్రించువాడు సిగ్గుపరచు కుమారుడు.

5. The one who gathers crops in the summer is a wise son, but the one who sleeps during the harvest is a son who brings shame to himself.

6. నీతిమంతుని తలమీదికి ఆశీర్వాదములు వచ్చును బలాత్కారము భక్తిహీనుని నోరు మూసివేయును.

6. Blessings are on the head of the righteous, but the speech of the wicked conceals violence.

7. నీతిమంతుని జ్ఞాపకముచేసికొనుట ఆశీర్వాదకరమగును భక్తిహీనుల పేరు అసహ్యత పుట్టించును

7. The memory of the righteous is a blessing, but the reputation of the wicked will rot.

8. జ్ఞానచిత్తుడు ఉపదేశము నంగీకరించును పనికిమాలిన వదరుబోతు నశించును.

14. జ్ఞానులు జ్ఞానము సమకూర్చుకొందురు మూఢుల నోరు అప్పుడే నాశనముచేయును.

15. ధనవంతుని ఆస్తి వానికి ఆశ్రయపట్టణము దరిద్రుని పేదరికము వానికి నాశనకరము.

16. నీతిమంతుని కష్టార్జితము జీవదాయకము భక్తిహీనునికి కలుగు వచ్చుబడి పాపము పుట్టించును.

16. The reward which the righteous receive is life; the recompense which the wicked receive is judgment.

17. ఉపదేశము నంగీకరించువాడు జీవమార్గములో ఉన్నాడు గద్దింపునకు లోబడనివాడు త్రోవ తప్పును.

17. The one who heeds instruction is on the way to life, but the one who rejects rebuke goes astray.

18. అంతరంగమున పగ ఉంచుకొనువాడు అబద్ధికుడు కొండెము ప్రచురము చేయువాడు బుద్ధిహీనుడు.

18. The one who conceals hatred utters lies, and the one who spreads slander is certainly a fool.

19. విస్తారమైన మాటలలో దోషముండక మానదు తన పెదవులను మూసికొనువాడు బుద్ధిమంతుడు.

19. When words abound, transgression is inevitable, but the one who restrains his words is wise.

20. నీతిమంతుని నాలుక ప్రశస్తమైన వెండివంటిది భక్తిహీనుల ఆలోచన పనికిమాలినది.

20. What the righteous say is like the best silver, but what the wicked think is of little value.

21. నీతిమంతుని పెదవులు అనేకులకు ఉపదేశించును బుద్ధి లేకపోవుట చేత మూఢులు చనిపోవుదురు.

21. The teaching of the righteous feeds many, but fools die for lack of wisdom.

22. యెహోవా ఆశీర్వాదము ఐశ్వర్యమిచ్చును నరుల కష్టముచేత ఆ యాశీర్వాదము ఎక్కువ కాదు.

22. The blessing from the LORD makes a person rich, and he adds no sorrow to it.

23. చెడుపనులు చేయుట బుద్ధిహీనునికి ఆటగా నున్నది వివేకికి జ్ఞానపరిశ్రమ చేయుట అట్టిదే.

23. Carrying out a wicked scheme is enjoyable to a fool, and so is wisdom for the one who has discernment.

24. భక్తిహీనుడు దేనికి భయపడునో అదే వానిమీదికి వచ్చును నీతిమంతులు ఆశించునది వారికి దొరుకును.

24. What the wicked fears will come on him; what the righteous desire will be granted.

25. సుడిగాలి వీచగా భక్తిహీనుడు లేకపోవును. నీతిమంతుడు నిత్యము నిలుచు కట్టడమువలె ఉన్నాడు.

25. When the storm passes through, the wicked are swept away, but the righteous are an everlasting foundation.

26. సోమరి తనను పని పెట్టువారికి పండ్లకు పులుసువంటివాడు కండ్లకు పొగవంటివాడు.

26. Like vinegar to the teeth and like smoke to the eyes, so is the sluggard to those who send him.

27. యెహోవాయందు భయభక్తులు కలిగియుండుట దీర్ఘాయువునకు కారణము భక్తిహీనుల ఆయుస్సు తక్కువై పోవును.

27. Fearing the LORD prolongs life, but the life span of the wicked will be shortened.

28. నీతిమంతుల ఆశ సంతోషము పుట్టించును. భక్తిహీనుల ఆశ భంగమై పోవును.

28. The hope of the righteous is joy, but the expectation of the wicked will remain unfulfilled.

29. యథార్థవంతునికి యెహోవా యేర్పాటు ఆశ్రయదుర్గము పాపముచేయువారికి అది నాశనకరము.

29. The way of the LORD is like a stronghold for the upright, but it is destruction to evildoers.

30. నీతిమంతుడు ఎన్నడును కదలింపబడడు భక్తిహీనులు దేశములో నివసింపరు.

30. The righteous will never be moved, but the wicked will not inhabit the land.

31. నీతిమంతుని నోరు జ్ఞానోపదేశమును పలుకును మూర్ఖపు మాటలు పలుకు నాలుక పెరికివేయబడును.

31. The speech of the righteous bears the fruit of wisdom, but the one who speaks perversion will be destroyed.

32. నీతిమంతుని పెదవులు ఉపయుక్తములైన సంగతులు పలుకును భక్తిహీనుల నోట మూర్ఖపు మాటలు వచ్చును.

32. The lips of the righteous know what is pleasing, but the speech of the wicked is perverse.
