1. దావీదు కుమారుడును ఇశ్రాయేలు రాజునైన సొలొమోను సామెతలు.

1. The Proverbs of Solomon, son of David, king of Israel:

2. జ్ఞానమును ఉపదేశమును అభ్యసించుటకును వివేక సల్లాపములను గ్రహించుటకును

2. To know wisdom and instruction; to discern the words of understanding;

3. నీతిన్యాయ యథార్థతల ననుసరించుటయందు బుద్ధి కుశలత ఇచ్చు ఉపదేశము నొందుటకును

3. to receive instruction in prudence, justice, and judgment, and uprightness;

4. జ్ఞానములేనివారికి బుద్ధి కలిగించుటకును ¸యౌవనులకు తెలివియు వివేచనయు పుట్టించుటకును తగిన సామెతలు.

4. to give sense to the simple, knowledge and discretion to the young man.

5. జ్ఞానముగలవాడు విని పాండిత్యము వృద్ధిచేసికొనును వివేకముగలవాడు ఆలకించి నీతి సూత్రములను సంపాదించుకొనును.

5. The wise hears and increases learning, and the understanding ones gets wise counsel,

6. వీటిచేత సామెతలను భావసూచక విషయములను జ్ఞానుల మాటలను వారు చెప్పిన గూఢవాక్యములను జనులు గ్రహించుదురు.

6. to understand a proverb and an enigma; the words of the wise, and their acute sayings.

7. యెహోవాయందు భయభక్తులు కలిగియుండుట తెలివికి మూలము మూర్ఖులు జ్ఞానమును ఉపదేశమును తిరస్కరించుదురు.

7. The fear of Jehovah is the beginning of knowledge; fools despise wisdom and instruction.

8. నా కుమారుడా, నీ తండ్రి ఉపదేశము ఆలకింపుము నీ తల్లి చెప్పు బోధను త్రోసివేయకుము.

8. My son, hear your father's instruction, and do not forsake the law of your mother;

9. అవి నీ తలకు సొగసైన మాలికయు నీ కంఠమునకు హారములునై యుండును

9. for they shall be an ornament of grace to your head, and chains for your neck.

10. నా కుమారుడా, పాపులు నిన్ను ప్రేరేపింపగా ఒప్పకుము.

10. My son, if sinners lure you, do not be willing.

11. మాతోకూడ రమ్ము మనము ప్రాణముతీయుటకై పొంచియుందము నిర్దోషియైన యొకని పట్టుకొనుటకు దాగియుందము

11. If they say, Walk with us, let us lie in wait for blood, let us secretly lurk for the innocent without cause,

12. పాతాళము మనుష్యులను మింగివేయునట్లు వారిని జీవముతోనే మింగివేయుదము సమాధిలోనికి దిగువారు మింగబడునట్లు వారు పూర్ణ బలముతోనుండగా మనము వారిని మింగివేయుదము రమ్ము అని వారు చెప్పునప్పుడు ఒప్పకుము.

12. let us swallow them up alive as Sheol, and whole, as those who go down into the Pit,

13. పలువిధములైన మంచి సొత్తులు మనకు దొరుకును మన యిండ్లను దోపుడుసొమ్ముతో నింపుకొందము

13. we shall find all precious goods, we shall fill our houses with plunder,

14. నీవు మాతో పాలివాడవై యుండుము మనకందరికిని సంచి ఒక్కటే యుండును అని వారు నీతో చెప్పుదురు.

14. cast in your lot among us, one purse shall be to all of us.

15. నా కుమారుడా, నీవు వారి మార్గమున పోకుము వారి త్రోవలయందు నడువకుండ నీ పాదము వెనుకకు తీసికొనుము.

15. My son, do not walk in the way with them! Hold back your foot from their path;

16. కీడు చేయుటకై వారి పాదములు పరుగులెత్తును నరహత్య చేయుటకై వారు త్వరపడుచుందురు.
రోమీయులకు 3:15-17

16. for their feet run to evil and they haste to shed blood.

17. పక్షి చూచుచుండగా వల వేయుట వ్యర్థము.

17. For in vain the net is spread in the sight of every bird.

18. వారు స్వనాశనమునకే పొంచియుందురు తమ్మును తామే పట్టుకొనుటకై దాగియుందురు.

18. And they lie in wait for their own blood; they lurk secretly for their own souls.

19. ఆశాపాతకులందరి గతి అట్టిదే దానిని స్వీకరించువారి ప్రాణము అది తీయును.

19. So are the ways of everyone who gets unjust gain; it takes away its owner's soul.

20. జ్ఞానము వీధులలో కేకలు వేయుచున్నది సంతవీధులలో బిగ్గరగా పలుకుచున్నది

20. Wisdom cries aloud outside; she gives her voice in the square;

21. గొప్ప సందడిగల స్థలములలో ప్రకటన చేయు చున్నది పురద్వారములలోను పట్టణములోను జ్ఞానము ప్రచురించుచు తెలియజేయుచున్నది

21. she calls at the head of places of commotion; in the opening of the gates, in the city she utters her words:

22. ఎట్లనగా, జ్ఞానములేనివారలారా, మీరెన్నాళ్లు జ్ఞానములేని వారుగా ఉండగోరుదురు? అపహాసకులారా, మీరెన్నాళ్లు అపహాస్యము చేయుచు ఆనందింతురు? బుద్ధిహీనులారా, మీరెన్నాళ్లు జ్ఞానమును అసహ్యించు కొందురు?

22. Until when will you love to be simple, you simple ones? And will scorners desire scorn for themselves? And will fools hate knowledge?

23. నా గద్దింపు విని తిరుగుడి ఆలకించుడి నా ఆత్మను మీమీద కుమ్మరించుదును నా ఉపదేశమును మీకు తెలిపెదను.

23. Turn back at my warning; behold, I will pour out my spirit to you; I will make my words known to you.

24. నేను పిలువగా మీరు వినకపోతిరి. నా చేయిచాపగా ఎవరును లక్ష్యపెట్టకపోయిరి

24. Because I called, and you refused; I stretch out a hand, and none inclines,

25. నేను చెప్పిన బోధ యేమియు మీరు వినక త్రోసి వేసితిరి నేను గద్దింపగా లోబడకపోతిరి.

25. but you have ignored all my counsel, and you did not desire my warning.

26. కాబట్టి మీకు అపాయము కలుగునప్పుడు నేను నవ్వెదను మీకు భయము వచ్చునప్పుడు నేను అపహాస్యము చేసెదను

26. I also will laugh in your calamity, I will mock when your dread comes;

27. భయము మీమీదికి తుపానువలె వచ్చునప్పుడు సుడిగాలి వచ్చునట్లు మీకు అపాయము కలుగు నప్పుడు మీకు కష్టమును దుఃఖమును ప్రాప్తించునప్పుడు నేను అపహాస్యము చేసెదను.

27. when your dread comes like a storm; and your calamity arrives like a tempest, when distress and anguish come on you.

28. అప్పుడు వారు నన్నుగూర్చి మొఱ్ఱపెట్టెదరుగాని నేను ప్రత్యుత్తరమియ్యకుందును నన్ను శ్రద్ధగా వెదకెదరు గాని వారికి నేను కనబడ కుందును.

28. Then they shall call on me, and I will not answer; they shall seek me early, but they shall not find me.

29. జ్ఞానము వారికి అసహ్యమాయెను యెహోవాయందు భయభక్తులు కలిగియుండుట వారి కిష్టము లేకపోయెను.

29. Instead they hated knowledge and chose not the fear of Jehovah.

30. నా ఆలోచన విననొల్లకపోయిరి నా గద్దింపును వారు కేవలము తృణీకరించిరి.

30. They did not desire my counsel; they despised all my reproof,

31. కాబట్టి వారు తమ ప్రవర్తనకు తగిన ఫలము ననుభ వించెదరు తమకు వెక్కసమగువరకు తమ ఆలోచనలను అనుసరించెదరు

31. and they shall eat of the fruit of their own way and be filled with their own lusts.

32. జ్ఞానములేనివారు దేవుని విసర్జించి నాశనమగుదురు. బుద్ధిహీనులు క్షేమము కలిగినదని మైమరచి నిర్మూలమగుదురు.

32. For the going astray of the simple kills them, and the ease of fools destroys them.

33. నా ఉపదేశము నంగీకరించువాడు సురక్షితముగా నివసించును వాడు కీడు వచ్చునన్న భయము లేక నెమ్మదిగా నుండును.

33. But he who listens to me shall live securely and shall be at ease from the dread of evil.
