1. మూడవ దినమందు ఎస్తేరు రాజభూషణములు ధరించుకొని, రాజునగరుయొక్క ఆవరణములో రాజు సన్నిధికి వెళ్లి నిలిచెను. రాజనగరు ద్వారమునకు ఎదురుగానున్న రాజావరణములో తన రాజాసనముమీద రాజు కూర్చుని యుండెను.

1. And it came to pass on the third day, when she had ceased praying, that she put off her mean dress, and put on her glorious apparel. And being splendidly arrayed, [and] having called upon God the Overseer and Preserver of all things, she took her two maids, and she leaned upon one, as a delicate female, and the other followed bearing her train. And she [was] blooming in the perfection of her beauty; and her face [was] cheerful and benevolent, but her heart [was] straitened for fear. And having passed through all the doors, she stood before the king. And he was sitting upon his royal throne, and he had put on all his glorious apparel, [covered] all over with gold and precious stones, and was very terrible. And having raised his face resplendent with glory, he looked with intense anger. And the queen fell, and changed her color as she fainted; and she bowed herself upon the head of the maid that went before [her]. But God changed the spirit of the king's gentleness, and in intense feeling he sprang from off his throne, and took her into his arms, until she recovered. And he comforted her with peaceable words, and said to her, What is [the matter], Esther? I [am] your brother; be of good cheer, you shall not die, for our command is openly declared [to you;] Draw near.

2. రాణియైన ఎస్తేరు ఆవరణములో నిలువబడి యుండుట రాజు చూడగా ఆమెయందు అతనికి దయ పుట్టెను. రాజు తన చేతిలోనుండు బంగారపు దండమును ఎస్తేరుతట్టు చాపగా ఎస్తేరు దగ్గరకు వచ్చి దండము యొక్క కొన ముట్టెను.

2. And having raised the golden scepter he laid it upon her neck, and embraced her, and said, Speak to me. And she said to him, I saw you, [my] lord, as an angel of God, and my heart was troubled for fear of your glory; for you, [my] lord, are to be wondered at, and your face [is] full of grace. And while she was speaking, she fainted and fell. Then the king was troubled, and all his servants comforted her.

3. రాజురాణియైన ఎస్తేరూ, నీకేమి కావలెను? నీ మనవి యేమిటి? రాజ్యములో సగము మట్టుకు నీకను గ్రహించెదనని ఆమెతో చెప్పగా

3. And the king said, What do you wish, Esther? And what is your request? [Ask] even to the half of my kingdom, and it shall be yours.

4. ఎస్తేరు రాజునకు యుక్తముగా తోచినయెడల నేను రాజుకొరకు సిద్ధము చేయించిన విందునకు రాజవైన తామును హామానును నేడు రావలెనని కోరుచున్నానని ప్రత్యుత్తరమిచ్చెను.

4. And Esther said, Today is my great day: if then it seems good to the king, let both him and Haman come to the feast which I will prepare this day.

5. ఎస్తేరు మాటప్రకారముగా జరుగునట్లు హామాను చేయ వలయునని త్వరపెట్టుమని రాజు సెలవియ్యగా రాజును హామానును ఎస్తేరు చేయించిన విందునకు వచ్చిరి.

5. And the king said, Bring Haman here quickly, that we may perform the word of Esther. So they both came to the feast of which Esther had spoken.

6. రాజు ద్రాక్షారసపు విందుకు కూర్చుండి ఎస్తేరును చూచి నీ కోరిక యేమిటి? అది నీకనుగ్రహింపబడును, నీ మనవి యేమిటి? అది రాజ్యములో సగముమట్టుకైనను చేయబడునని చెప్పగా

6. And at the banquet the king said to Esther, What is [your request], Queen Esther? [Speak], and you shall have all that you require.

7. ఎస్తేరు ఈలాగు ప్రత్యుత్తరమిచ్చెను రాజవైన తమ దృష్టికి నా యెడల దయకలిగి నా మనవి చొప్పునను నా కోరికచొప్పునను జరిగించుట రాజవైన తమకు అనుకూలమైతే

7. And she said, My request and my petition [is this]:

8. రాజవైన తామును హామానును మీ నిమిత్తము నేను చేయింపబోవు విందునకు రావలెను. రాజవైన తాము చెప్పినట్లు రేపటి దినమున నేను చేయుదును; ఇదే నా మనవియు నా కోరికయు ననెను.

8. if I have found favor in the sight of the king, let the king and Haman come again tomorrow to the feast which I shall prepare for them, and tomorrow I will do the same.

9. ఆ దినమందు హామాను సంతోషించి మనోల్లాసముగలవాడై బయలువెళ్లి, రాజుగుమ్మముననుండు మొర్దెకై తన్ను చూచియు అతడు లేచి నిలువకయు కదలకయు ఉన్నం దున మొర్దెకై మీద బహుగా కోపగించెను.

9. So Haman went out from the king very glad [and] merry; but when Haman saw Mordecai the Jew in the court, he was greatly enraged.

10. అయితే హామాను కోపము అణచుకొని తన యింటికిపోయి తనస్నేహితులను తన భార్యయైన జెరెషును పిలిపించి

10. And having gone into his own house, he called his friends, and his wife Zeresh.

11. తనకు కలిగిన గొప్ప ఐశ్వర్యమును గూర్చియు, చాలామంది పిల్లలు తనకుండుటను గూర్చియు, రాజు తన్ను ఘనపరచి రాజు క్రిందనుండు అధిపతులమీదను సేవకులమీదను తన్ను ఏలాగున పెద్దగా చేసెనో దానిని గూర్చియు వారితో మాటలాడెను.

11. And he showed them his wealth, and the glory with which the king had invested him, and how he had caused him to take precedence and bear chief rule in the kingdom.

12. మరియు అతడు రాణియైన ఎస్తేరు తాను చేయించిన విందునకు రాజును నన్ను తప్ప మరి యెవనిని పిలిపించలేదు, రేపటి దినమున కూడ రాజుతో కలిసి విందునకు రమ్మని నాకు సెలవైనదని తెలియజేసెను.

12. And Haman said, The queen has called no one to the feast with the king but me, and I am invited tomorrow.

13. అయితే యూదుడైన మొర్దెకై రాజుగుమ్మమున కూర్చునియుండుట నేను చూచునంత కాలము ఆ పదవి అంతటివలన నాకు ప్రయోజనమేమియు లేదని అతడు చెప్పగా

13. But these things please me not, while I see Mordecai the Jew in the court.

14. అతని భార్యయైన జెరెషును అతని స్నేహితులందరును ఏబది మూరల ఎత్తుగల యొక ఉరికొయ్య చేయించుము; దాని మీద మొర్దెకై ఉరి తీయింపబడునట్లు రేపు నీవు రాజుతో మనవి చేయుము; తరువాత నీవు సంతోషముగా రాజుతో కూడ విందునకు పోదువు అని అతనితో చెప్పిరి. ఈ సంగతి హామానునకు యుక్తముగా కనబడినందున అతడు ఉరికొయ్య యొకటి సిద్ధము చేయించెను.

14. And Zeresh his wife and his friends said to him, Let there be a gallows made for you of fifty cubits, and in the morning speak to the king, and let Mordecai be hanged on the gallows. But go in to the feast with the king, and be merry. And the saying pleased Haman, and the gallows was prepared.
