15. I assembled the exiles at the Ahava Canal, and we camped there for three days while I went over the lists of the people and the priests who had arrived. I found that not one Levite had volunteered to come along.

16. So I sent for Eliezer, Ariel, Shemaiah, Elnathan, Jarib, Elnathan, Nathan, Zechariah, and Meshullam, who were leaders of the people. I also sent for Joiarib and Elnathan, who were men of discernment.

17. కాసిప్యా అను స్థల మందుండు అధికారియైన ఇద్దోయొద్దకు వారిని పంపి, మా దేవుని మందిరమునకు పరిచారకులను మాయొద్దకు తీసికొని వచ్చునట్లుగా కాసిప్యా అను స్థలమందుండు ఇద్దోతోను అతని బంధువులైన నెతీనీయులతోను చెప్పవలసిన మాటలను వారికి తెలియజెప్పితిని.

17. I sent them to Iddo, the leader of the Levites at Casiphia, to ask him and his relatives and the Temple servants to send us ministers for the Temple of God at Jerusalem.

18. Since the gracious hand of our God was on us, they sent us a man named Sherebiah, along with eighteen of his sons and brothers. He was a very astute man and a descendant of Mahli, who was a descendant of Levi son of Israel.

19. They also sent Hashabiah, together with Jeshaiah from the descendants of Merari, and twenty of his sons and brothers,

20. and 220 Temple servants. The Temple servants were assistants to the Levites-- a group of Temple workers first instituted by King David and his officials. They were all listed by name.

21. And there by the Ahava Canal, I gave orders for all of us to fast and humble ourselves before our God. We prayed that he would give us a safe journey and protect us, our children, and our goods as we traveled.

22. For I was ashamed to ask the king for soldiers and horsemen to accompany us and protect us from enemies along the way. After all, we had told the king, 'Our God's hand of protection is on all who worship him, but his fierce anger rages against those who abandon him.'

23. మేముఉపవాసముండి ఆ సంగతినిబట్టి మా దేవుని వేడుకొనగా ఆయన మా మనవిని అంగీకరించెను

23. So we fasted and earnestly prayed that our God would take care of us, and he heard our prayer.

24. గనుక నేను యాజ కులలోనుండి ప్రధానులైన పండ్రెండు మందిని, అనగా షేరేబ్యాను హషబ్యాను వీరి బంధువులలో పదిమందిని ఏర్పరచి

24. I appointed twelve leaders of the priests-- Sherebiah, Hashabiah, and ten other priests--

25. మా దేవుని మందిరమును ప్రతిష్ఠించుట విషయ ములో రాజును అతని మంత్రులును అధిపతులును అక్కడ నున్న ఇశ్రాయేలీయులందరును ప్రతిష్ఠించిన వెండిబంగార ములను ఉపకరణములను తూచి వారికి అప్పగించితిని.

25. to be in charge of transporting the silver, the gold, the gold bowls, and the other items that the king, his council, his officials, and all the people of Israel had presented for the Temple of God.

26. వెయ్యిన్ని మూడువందల మణుగుల వెండిని రెండువందల మణుగుల వెండి ఉపకరణములను, రెండువందల మణుగుల బంగారమును,

26. I weighed the treasure as I gave it to them and found the totals to be as follows: 24 tons of silver, 7,500 pounds of silver articles, 7,500 pounds of gold,

27. ఏడువేల తులములుగల యిరువది బంగా రపు గిన్నెలను, బంగారమంత వెలగల పరిశుద్ధమైన రెండు రాగి పాత్రలను తూచి

27. 20 gold bowls, equal in value to 1,000 gold coins, 2 fine articles of polished bronze, as precious as gold.

28. వారిచేతికి అప్పగించిమీరు యెహోవాకు ప్రతిష్ఠింపబడినవారు, పాత్రలును ప్రతి ష్ఠితములైనవి. ఈ వెండి బంగారములును మీ పితరుల దేవుడైన యెహోవాకు స్వేచ్ఛార్పణలై యున్నవి.

28. And I said to these priests, 'You and these treasures have been set apart as holy to the LORD. This silver and gold is a voluntary offering to the LORD, the God of our ancestors.

29. కాబట్టి మీరు యెరూషలేములో యెహోవా మందిరపు ఖజానా గదులలో, యాజకులయొక్కయు లేవీయుల యొక్కయు ఇశ్రాయేలు పెద్దలయొక్కయు ప్రధానులైన వారి యెదుట, వాటిని తూచి అప్పగించు వరకు వాటిని భద్రముగా ఉంచుడని వారితో చెప్పితిని.

29. Guard these treasures well until you present them to the leading priests, the Levites, and the leaders of Israel, who will weigh them at the storerooms of the LORD's Temple in Jerusalem.'

30. కాబట్టి యాజకులును లేవీయులును వాటి యెత్తు ఎంతో తెలిసికొని, యెరూషలేములోనున్న మన దేవుని మందిరమునకు కొనిపోవుటకై ఆ వెండి బంగారములను పాత్రలను తీసికొనిరి.

30. So the priests and the Levites accepted the task of transporting these treasures of silver and gold to the Temple of our God in Jerusalem.

31. మేము మొదటి నెల పండ్రెండవ దినమందు యెరూష లేమునకు వచ్చుటకై అహవా నదినుండి బయలుదేరగా, మా దేవుని హస్తము మాకు తోడుగా నుండి, శత్రువుల చేతిలోనుండియు మార్గమందు పొంచియున్నవారి చేతిలో నుండియు మమ్మును తప్పించినందున

31. We broke camp at the Ahava Canal on April 19 and started off to Jerusalem. And the gracious hand of our God protected us and saved us from enemies and bandits along the way.

32. మేము యెరూష లేమునకు వచ్చి మూడుదినములు అక్కడ బసచేసితివిు.

32. So we arrived safely in Jerusalem, where we rested for three days.

33. నాలుగవ దినమున వెండి బంగారములును పాత్రలును మా దేవుని మందిరమందు యాజకుడైన ఊరియా కుమారుడైన మెరేమోతుచేత తూనిక వేయబడెను. అతనితో కూడ ఫీనెహాసు కుమారుడైన ఎలియాజరు ఉండెను; వీరితో లేవీయులైన యేషూవ కుమారుడైన యోజాబాదును బిన్నూయి కుమారుడైన నోవద్యాయును కూడనుండిరి.

33. On the fourth day after our arrival, the silver, gold, and other valuables were weighed at the Temple of our God and entrusted to Meremoth son of Uriah the priest and to Eleazar son of Phinehas, along with Jozabad son of Jeshua and Noadiah son of Binnui-- both of whom were Levites.

34. సంఖ్యచొప్పునను ఎత్తుచొప్పునను అన్నిటిని సరిచూచిన తరువాత వాటి యెత్తు ఎంతైనది లెక్కలలో వ్రాసిరి.

34. Everything was accounted for by number and weight, and the total weight was officially recorded.

35. Then the exiles who had come out of captivity sacrificed burnt offerings to the God of Israel. They presented twelve bulls for all the people of Israel, as well as ninety-six rams and seventy-seven male lambs. They also offered twelve male goats as a sin offering. All this was given as a burnt offering to the LORD.

36. వారు రాజుయొక్క నిర్ణయములను రాజుయొక్క సేనాధిపతులకును నది యివతలనున్న అధికారులకును అప్పగించిన తరువాత వీరు జనులకును దేవుని మందిరపు పనికిని సహాయము చేసిరి.

36. The king's decrees were delivered to his highest officers and the governors of the province west of the Euphrates River, who then cooperated by supporting the people and the Temple of God.
