1. ఏడవ నెలలో ఇశ్రాయేలీయులు తమ తమ పట్టణము లకు వచ్చిన తరువాత జనులు ఏకమనస్సు కలిగినవారై యెరూషలేములో కూడి,

1. And when the seventh month came, and the children of Israel were now in their cities, the people came together even as one man, unto Jerusalem.

2. యోజాదాకు కుమారుడైన యేషూవయును యాజకులైన అతని సంబంధులును షయల్తీయేలు కుమారుడైన జెరుబ్బాబెలును అతని సంబంధులును లేచి, దైవజనుడైన మోషే నియమించిన ధర్మశాస్త్రము నందు వ్రాయబడిన ప్రకారముగా దహనబలులు అర్పిం చుటకై ఇశ్రాయేలీయుల దేవుని బలిపీఠమును కట్టిరి.

2. And there stood up Jesua the son of Josedec, and his brethren the priests, and Zorobabel the son of Salathiel and his brethren, and builded the altar of the God of Israel, to offer burnt offerings thereon, as it is written in the law of Moses the man of God.

3. వారు దేశమందు కాపురస్థులైనవారికి భయపడుచు, ఆ బలిపీఠమును దాని పురాతన స్థలమున నిలిపి, దానిమీద ఉదయమునను అస్తమయమునను యెహోవాకు దహన బలులు అర్పించుచు వచ్చిరి

3. And the altar set they upon his sockets (for there was a fearfulness among them because of the nations and the lands) and offered burnt offerings thereon unto the LORD, in the morning and at evening.

4. మరియు గ్రంథమునుబట్టి వారు పర్ణశాలల పండుగను నడిపించి, ఏ దినమునకు నియ మింపబడిన లెక్కచొప్పున ఆ దినపు దహనబలిని విధి చొప్పున అర్పింపసాగిరి.

4. And held the feast of tabernacles as it is written, and offered burnt sacrifices daily in order, according to the custom, day by day.(daily after the number as according was, every day his sacrifice.)

5. తరువాత నిత్యమైన దహనబలిని, అమావాస్యలకును యెహోవాయొక్క నియామకమైన పండుగలకును ప్రతిష్ఠితమైన దహనబలులను, ఒక్కొక్కడు తెచ్చిన స్వేచ్ఛార్పణలను అర్పించుచు వచ్చిరి.

5. Afterward the daily burnt offering also, and of the new Moons and of all the feast days of the LORD that were hallowed, and all manner of free will offerings, which they did of their own freewill(free willing) unto the LORD.

6. ఏడవ నెల మొదటి దినమునుండి యెహోవాకు దహనబలులు అర్పింప మొదలుపెట్టిరి. అయితే యెహోవా మందిరము యొక్క పునాది అప్పటికి ఇంకను వేయబడలేదు.

6. Upon the first day of the seventh month began they to offer burnt sacrifices unto the LORD. But the foundation of the temple of the LORD was not yet laid.

7. మరియు వారు కాసెవారికిని వడ్రవారికిని ద్రవ్యము నిచ్చిరి. అదియుగాక పారసీక దేశపు రాజైన కోరెషు తమకు సెలవిచ్చినట్లు దేవదారు మ్రానులను లెబానోనునుండి సముద్రముమీద యొప్పేపట్టణమునకు తెప్పించుటకు సీదోనీయులకును తూరువారికిని భోజనపదార్థములను పానమును నూనెను ఇచ్చిరి.

7. Nevertheless they gave money unto the masons and the carpenters, and meat and drink and oil unto them of Zidon and of Tyre, to bring Cedar timber from Libanus by sea(See) unto Joppa, according to the commandment of Cyrus the king of Persia.

8. యెరూషలేములోనుండు దేవునియొక్క మందిరమునకు వారు వచ్చిన రెండవ సంవత్సరము రెండవ నెలలో షయల్తీ యేలు కుమారుడైన జెరుబ్బాబెలును, యోజాదాకు కుమారు డైన యేషూవయును, చెరలోనుండి విడిపింపబడి యెరూష లేమునకు వచ్చినవారందరును పని ఆరంభించి, యిరువది సంవత్సరములు మొదలుకొని పై యీడుగల లేవీయులను యెహోవా మందిరముయొక్క పనికి నిర్ణయించిరి.

8. In the second year of their coming unto the house of God at Jerusalem, in the second month, began Zorobabel the son of Salathiel, and Jeshua the son of Josadec, and the remnant of their brethren the priests and the Levites, and all they that were come out of the captivity unto Jerusalem, and appointed the Levites from twenty year old and above, to see that the work of the house of the LORD went forward.

9. యేషూవయు అతని కుమారులును అతని సహోదరులును, కద్మీయేలును అతని కుమారులును, హోదవ్యా కుమారులును, హేనాదాదు కుమారులును, వారి కుమారులును, లేవీయు లైనవారి బంధువులును, దేవుని మందిరములో పనివారిచేత పనిచేయించుటకు నియమింపబడిరి.

9. And Jesua stood with his sons and his brethren, and Cadmiel with his sons and the children of Judah, to further the workmen of the house of God, namely the children of Henadad with their children and their brethren the Levites.

10. శిల్పకారులు యెహోవా మందిరముయొక్క పునాదిని వేయుచుండగా ఇశ్రాయేలు రాజైన దావీదు నిర్ణయించిన విధిచొప్పున తమ వస్త్రములు ధరించుకొనినవారై యాజకులు బాకాలతోను, ఆసాపు వంశస్థులగు లేవీయులు చేయి తాళములతోను నిలువబడి యెహోవాను స్తోత్రము చేసిరి

10. And when the builders laid the foundation of the temple of the LORD, the priests stood in their array, with trumpets. And the Levites the children of Asaph with cymbals, to praise the LORD, after the manner(with the Dite) of David king of Israel.

11. వీరు వంతు చొప్పున కూడియెహోవా దయాళుడు, ఇశ్రాయేలీ యుల విషయమై ఆయన కృప నిరంతరము నిలుచునని పాడుచు యెహోవాను స్తుతించిరి. మరియు యెహోవా మందిరముయొక్క పునాది వేయబడుట చూచి, జనులంద రును గొప్ప శబ్దముతో యెహోవాకు స్తోత్రము చేసిరి.

11. And they sang together, giving praise and thanks unto the LORD, because he is gracious, and because his mercy endureth for ever upon Israel. And all the people shouted loud in praising the LORD, because the foundation of the house of the LORD was laid.

12. మునుపటి మందిరమును చూచిన యాజకులలోను లేవీయుల లోను కుటుంబ ప్రధానులలోను వృద్ధులైన అనేకులు, ఇప్పుడు వేయబడిన యీ మందిరముయొక్క పునాదిని చూచి గొప్ప శబ్దముతో ఏడ్చిరి. అయితే మరి అనేకులు సంతోషముచేత బహుగా అరచిరి.

12. Many also of the old priests and Levites and ancient fathers, which had seen the first house: when the foundation of this house was laid before their eyes, wept with a loud voice. And many shouted with joy,(Nevertheless many of the old priests and Levites and ancient fathers, which had seen the house afore in his foundation, and this was now before their eyes, wept loud. But many shouted with joy,)

13. ఏది సంతోష శబ్దమో యేది దుఃఖశబ్దమో జనులు తెలిసికొనలేకపోయిరి. జనులు గొప్ప ధ్వని చేసినందున ఆ శబ్దము బహుదూరము వినబడెను.

13. so that the noise gave a great sound, in so much that the people could not know the joyful sound for the noise of the weeping among(in) the people: for the people shouted with a loud cry, so that the noise was heard afar off.
