1. రెహబాము రాజ్యము స్థిరపడి తాను బలపరచబడిన తరువాత అతడును ఇశ్రాయేలీయులందరును యెహోవా ధర్మశాస్త్రమును విసర్జించిరి.

1. And when Rehoboam had established the kingdome and made it strong, hee forsooke the Lawe of the Lord, and all Israel with him.

2. వారు యెహోవా యెడల ద్రోహము చేసినందున రాజైన రెహబాము యొక్క అయిదవ సంవత్సరమందు ఐగుప్తు రాజైన షీషకు వెయ్యిన్ని రెండువందల రథములతోను అరువదివేల గుఱ్ఱపు రౌతులతోను యెరూషలేముమీదికి వచ్చెను.

2. Therefore in the fift yeere of King Rehoboam, Shishak the King of Egypt came vp against Ierusalem (because they had transgressed against the Lord)

3. అతనితో కూడ ఐగుప్తునుండి వచ్చిన లూబీయులు సుక్కీయులు కూషీ యులు అనువారు లెక్కకు మించియుండిరి.

3. With twelue hundreth charets, and three score thousande horsemen, and the people were without nomber, that came with him from Egypt, euen the Lubims, Sukkiims, and the Ethiopians.

4. అతడు యూదాకు సమీపమైన ప్రాకారపురములను పట్టుకొని యెరూషలేమువరకు రాగా

4. And he tooke the strong cities which were of Iudah, and came vnto Ierusalem.

5. ప్రవక్తయైన షెమయా రెహబామునొద్దకును, షీషకునకును భయపడి యెరూష లేమునకు వచ్చి కూడియున్న యూదావారి అధిపతుల యొద్దకును వచ్చిమీరు నన్ను విసర్జించితిరి గనుక నేను మిమ్మును షీషకు చేతిలో పడనిచ్చియున్నానని యెహోవా సెలవిచ్చుచున్నాడని చెప్పెను.

5. Then came Shemaiah the Prophet to Rehoboam, and to the princes of Iudah, that were gathered together in Hierusalem, because of Shishak, and sayde vnto them, Thus sayth the Lord, Ye haue forsaken me, therefore haue I also left you in the handes of Shishak.

6. అప్పుడు ఇశ్రాయేలీయుల అధిపతులును రాజును తమ్మును తాము తగ్గించుకొని యెహోవా న్యాయస్థుడని ఒప్పుకొనిరి.

6. Then the princes of Israel, and the King humbled themselues, and sayde, The Lord is iust.

7. వారు తమ్మును తాము తగ్గించుకొనుట యెహోవా చూచెను గనుక యెహోవా వాక్కు షెమయాకు ప్రత్యక్షమైయీలాగు సెలవిచ్చెనువారు తమ్మును తాము తగ్గించుకొనిరి గనుక నేను వారిని నాశనముచేయక, షీషకు ద్వారా నా ఉగ్రతను యెరూషలేముమీద కుమ్మరింపక త్వరలోనే వారికి రక్షణ దయచేసెదను.

7. And when the Lord sawe that they humbled themselues, the worde of the Lord came to Shemaiah, saying, They haue humbled theselues, therefore I will not destroy them, but I will sende them deliuerance shortly, and my wrath shall not bee powred out vpon Ierusalem by the hand of Shishak.

8. అయితే నన్ను సేవించుటకును, భూరాజులకు దాసులై యుండుటకును ఎంత భేదమున్నదో వారు తెలిసికొనునట్లు వారు అతనికి దాసులగుదురు.

8. Neuerthelesse they shalbe his sernants: so shall they knowe my seruice, and the seruice of the kingdomes of the earth.

9. ఐగుప్తురాజైన షీషకు యెరూషలేముమీదికి వచ్చి యెహోవా మందిరపు బొక్కసములన్నిటిని రాజనగరులోని బొక్కసములన్నిటిని దోచుకొని, సొలొమోను చేయించిన బంగారపు డాళ్లను తీసికొనిపోయెను.

9. Then Shishak King of Egypt came vp against Ierusalem, and tooke the treasures of the house of the Lord, and the treasures of the Kings house he tooke euen all, and hee caried away the shields of golde, which Salomon had made.

10. వాటికి బదులుగా రాజైన రెహబాము ఇత్తడి డాళ్లను చేయించి వాటిని రాజనగరుయొక్క ద్వారమును కాయు సేవకుల యొక్క అధిపతులకు అప్పగించెను.

10. In stead whereof King Rehoboam made shieldes of brasse, and committed them to the handes of the chiefe of the garde, that wayted at the doore of the Kings house.

11. రాజు యెహోవా మందిరములోనికి ప్రవేశించినప్పుడెల్ల నగరు సేవకులు వచ్చి వాటిని ఎత్తి తరువాత వాటిని మరల గదిలో ఉంచుచు వచ్చిరి.

11. And when the King entred into the house of the Lord, the garde came and bare them and brought them againe vnto the garde chamber.

12. అతడు తన్ను తాను తగ్గించుకొనినందున యెహోవా అతని బొత్తిగా నిర్మూలముచేయక, యూదావారు కొంత మట్టుకు మంచితనము ననుసరించుట చూచి తన కోపము అతనిమీదనుండి త్రిప్పుకొనెను.

12. And because hee humbled himselfe, the wrath of the Lord turned from him, that hee woulde not destroy all together. And also in Iudah the things prospered.

13. రాజైన రెహబాము యెరూషలేమునందు స్థిరపడి యేలుబడి చేసెను; రెహబాము ఏలనారంభించినప్పుడు నలుబదియొక సంవత్సరముల యీడుగల వాడై యుండెను; తన నామమును అచ్చట ఉంచుటకై ఇశ్రాయేలీయుల గోత్రములన్నిటిలోనుండి యెహోవా కోరుకొనిన పట్టణమగు యెరూషలేమునందు అతడు పదునేడు సంవత్సరములు ఏలెను, అతని తల్లి పేరు నయమా, ఆమె అమ్మో నీయురాలు.

13. So King Rehoboam was strong in Ierusalem and reigned: for Rehoboam was one and fourtie yere olde, when he began to reigne, and reigned seuenteene yeres in Ierusalem, the citie which the Lord had chosen out of all the tribes of Israel to put his Name there. And his mothers name was Naamah an Ammonitesse.

14. అతడు తన మనస్సు యెహోవాను వెదకుట యందు నిలుపుకొనక చెడుక్రియలు చేసెను.

14. And he did euill: for hee prepared not his heart to seeke the Lord.

15. రెహబాము చేసిన కార్యములన్నిటిని గూర్చియు షెమయా రచించిన గ్రంథమందును దీర్ఘదర్శియైన ఇద్దో రచించిన వంశావళియందును వ్రాయబడియున్నది.

15. The actes also of Rehoboam, first and last, are they not written in the booke of Shemaiah the Prophet, and Iddo the Seer, in rehearsing the genealogie? and there was warre alway betweene Rehoboam and Ieroboam.

16. రెహ బామునకును యరొబామునకును యుద్ధము యెడతెగక జరిగెను. రెహబాము తన పితరులతో కూడ నిద్రించి దావీదుపట్టణమందు పాతిపెట్టబడెను, అతని కుమారుడైన అబీయా అతనికి బదులుగా రాజాయెను.

16. And Rehoboam slept with his fathers, and was buried in the citie of Dauid, and Abiiah his sonne reigned in his stead.
