1. ఒకనాడు ఎలీషా తాను బ్రదికించిన బిడ్డకు తల్లియైన ఆమెను పిలిచియెహోవా క్షామకాలము రప్పింప బోవు చున్నాడు; ఏడు సంవత్సరములు దేశ ములో క్షామము కలుగునని చెప్పినీవు లేచి, నీవును నీ యింటివారును ఎచ్చటనుండుట అనుకూలమో అచ్చటికి పోవుడనగా

1. And Elisha had spoken to the woman whose son he had restored to life, saying, Rise up and go, thou and thy household, and sojourn wheresoever thou canst sojourn; for Jehovah has called for a famine, and it shall also come upon the land for seven years.

2. ఆ స్త్రీ లేచి దైవజనుని మాటచొప్పున చేసి, తన యింటివారిని తోడుకొని ఫిలిష్తీయుల దేశమునకు పోయి యేడు సంవత్సరములు అక్కడ వాసముచేసెను.

2. And the woman rose up, and did according to the saying of the man of God, and went, she and her household, and sojourned in the land of the Philistines seven years.

3. అయితే ఆ యేడు సంవత్సరములు గతించిన తరువాత ఆ స్త్రీ ఫిలిష్తీ యుల దేశములోనుండి వచ్చి తన యింటిని గూర్చియు భూమిని గూర్చియు మనవి చేయుటకై రాజునొద్దకు పోయెను.

3. And it came to pass at the seven years' end, that the woman returned out of the land of the Philistines; and she went forth to cry to the king for her house and for her land.

4. రాజు దైవజనుని పనివాడగు గేహజీతో మాట లాడిఎలీషా చేసిన గొప్ప కార్యములన్నిటిని నాకు తెలియజెప్పుమని ఆజ్ఞనిచ్చి యుండెను.

4. And the king was talking with Gehazi, the servant of the man of God, saying, Tell me, I pray thee, all the great things that Elisha has done.

5. అతడు ఒక మృతునికి ప్రాణము తిరిగి రప్పించిన సంగతి వాడు రాజునకు తెలియజెప్పుచుండగా, ఎలీషా బ్రదికించిన బిడ్డ తల్లి తన యింటిని గూర్చియు భూమిని గూర్చియు రాజుతో మనవిచేయ వచ్చెను. అంతట గేహజీనా యేలినవాడవైన రాజా ఆ స్త్రీ యిదే; మరియు ఎలీషా తిరిగి బ్రదికించిన యీమెబిడ్డ వీడే అని చెప్పగా

5. And it came to pass as he was telling the king how he had restored a dead body to life, that behold, the woman whose son he had restored to life cried to the king for her house and for her land. And Gehazi said, My lord, O king, this is the woman, and this is her son, whom Elisha restored to life.

6. రాజు ఆ స్త్రీని అడిగినప్పుడు ఆమె అతనితో సంగతి తెలియజెప్పెను. కాబట్టి రాజు ఆమె పక్షముగా ఒక అధిపతిని నియమించి, ఆమె సొత్తు యావత్తును ఆమె దేశము విడిచినప్పటినుండి నేటివరకు భూమి ఫలించిన పంట యావత్తును ఆమెకు మరల ఇమ్మని సెలవిచ్చెను.

6. And the king asked the woman, and she told him. And the king appointed a certain chamberlain, saying, Restore all that was hers, and all the revenue of the land since the day that she left the country even until now.

7. ఎలీషా దమస్కునకు వచ్చెను. ఆ కాలమున సిరియా రాజైన బెన్హదదు రోగియై యుండి, దైవజనుడైన అతడు ఇక్కడికి వచ్చియున్నాడని తెలిసికొని

7. And Elisha came to Damascus; and Ben-Hadad the king of Syria was sick; and it was told him saying, The man of God is come hither.

8. హజాయేలును పిలిచినీవు ఒక కానుకను చేత పట్టుకొని దైవజనుడైన అతనిని ఎదుర్కొన బోయిఈ రోగముపోయి నేను బాగుపడుదునా లేదా అని అతని ద్వారా యెహోవాయొద్ద విచారణ చేయుమని ఆజ్ఞ ఇచ్చిపంపెను.

8. And the king said to Hazael, Take a present in thy hand, and go, meet the man of God, and inquire of Jehovah by him, saying, Shall I recover from this disease?

9. కాబట్టి హజా యేలు దమస్కులోనున్న మంచి వస్తువులన్నిటిలో నలువది ఒంటెల మోతంత కానుకగా తీసికొని అతనిని ఎదుర్కొన బోయి అతని ముందర నిలిచినీ కుమారుడును సిరియా రాజునైన బెన్హదదునాకు కలిగిన రోగము పోయి నేను బాగుపడుదునా లేదా అని నిన్నడుగుటకు నన్ను పంపెనని చెప్పెను.

9. And Hazael went to meet him, and took with him a present, even of every good thing of Damascus, forty camels' burden; and he came and stood before him, and said, Thy son Ben-Hadad king of Syria has sent me to thee, saying, Shall I recover from this disease?

10. అప్పుడు ఎలీషానీవు అతని యొద్దకు పోయినిశ్చయముగా నీకు స్వస్థతకలుగవచ్చుననిచెప్పుము. అయినప్పటికిని అతనికి అవశ్యముగ మరణము సంభవించు నని యెహోవా నాకు తెలియజేసెనని పలికి

10. And Elisha said to him, Go, say to him, Thou wilt certainly recover. But Jehovah has shewn me that he shall certainly die.

11. హజాయేలు ముఖము చిన్నబోవునంతవరకు ఆ దైవజనుడు అతని తేరి చూచుచు కన్నీళ్లు రాల్చెను.

11. And he settled his countenance stedfastly, until he was ashamed; and the man of God wept.

12. హజాయేలునా యేలిన వాడవైన నీవు కన్నీళ్లు రాల్చెదవేమని అతని నడుగగా ఎలీషా యీలాగు ప్రత్యుత్తరమిచ్చెనుఇశ్రాయేలువారి గట్టి స్థలములను నీవు కాల్చివేయుదువు; వారి ¸యౌవనస్థు లను కత్తిచేత హతము చేయుదువు; వారి పిల్లలను నేలకు వేసి కొట్టి చంపుదువు; వారి గర్భిణుల కడుపులను చింపి వేయుదువు గనుక నీవు వారికి చేయబోవు కీడును నే నెరిగియుండుటచేత కన్నీళ్లు రాల్చుచున్నాను.

12. And Hazael said, Why does my lord weep? And he said, Because I know the evil that thou wilt do to the children of Israel: their strongholds wilt thou set on fire, and their young men wilt thou kill with the sword, and wilt dash in pieces their children, and rip up their women with child.

13. అందుకు హజాయేలుకుక్కవంటివాడనగు నీ దాసుడనైన నేను ఇంత కార్యము చేయుటకు ఎంతటి వాడను అని అతనితో అనగా, ఎలీషానీవు సిరియామీద రాజవగుదువని యెహోవా నాకు బయలుపరచి యున్నాడనెను.

13. And Hazael said, But what, is thy servant a dog, that he should do this great thing? And Elisha said, Jehovah has shewn me that thou wilt be king over Syria.

14. అతడు ఎలీషాను విడిచి వెళ్లి తన యజమానుని యొద్దకు రాగా అతడుఎలీషా నీతో చెప్పినదేమని అడుగగా అతడునిజముగా నీవు బాగుపడుదువని అతడు చెప్పెననెను.

14. And he departed from Elisha, and came to his master, who said to him, What did Elisha say to thee? And he said, He told me [that] thou wouldest certainly recover.

15. అయితే మరునాడు హజాయేలు ముదుగు బట్ట తీసికొని నీటిలో ముంచి రాజు ముఖముమీద పరచగా అతడు చచ్చెను; అప్పుడు హజాయేలు అతనికి మారుగా రాజా యెను.

15. And it came to pass the next day, that he took the coverlet and dipped [it] in water, and spread it over his face, so that he died; and Hazael reigned in his stead.

16. అహాబు కుమారుడును ఇశ్రాయేలువారికి రాజునైన యెహోరాము ఏలుబడిలో అయిదవ సంవత్సరమందు యెహోషాపాతు యూదారాజై యుండగా యూదా రాజైన యెహోషాపాతు కుమారుడైన యెహోరాము ఏల నారంభించెను.

16. And in the fifth year of Joram the son of Ahab, king of Israel, Jehoshaphat being then king of Judah, Jehoram the son of Jehoshaphat, king of Judah, began to reign.

17. అతడు ఏల నారంభించినప్పుడు ముప్పది రెండేండ్లవాడై యుండి యెరూషలేమందు ఎనిమిది సంవ త్సరములు ఏలెను.

17. He was thirty-two years old when he began to reign; and he reigned eight years in Jerusalem.

18. ఇతడు అహాబు కుమార్తెను పెండ్లి చేసికొని యుండెను గనుక అహాబు కుటుంబికులవలెనే ఇతడును ఇశ్రాయేలురాజులు ప్రవర్తించినట్లు ప్రవర్తించుచు యెహోవా దృష్టికి చెడుతనము జరిగించెను.

18. And he walked in the way of the kings of Israel, as did the house of Ahab, for the daughter of Ahab was his wife; and he did evil in the sight of Jehovah.

19. అయినను యెహోవా సదాకాలము తన సేవకుడగు దావీదునకును అతని కుమారులకును దీపము నిలిపెదనని మాట యిచ్చి యుండెను గనుక అతని జ్ఞాపకముచేత యూదాను నశింప జేయుటకు ఆయనకు మనస్సు లేకపోయెను.

19. But Jehovah would not destroy Judah, for David his servant's sake, as he had promised him to give him always a lamp for his sons.

20. ఇతని దిన ములలో ఎదోమీయులు యూదారాజునకు ఇక లోబడుట మాని అతనిమీద తిరుగుబాటు చేసి, తమమీద నొకని రాజుగా నియమించుకొనినందున

20. In his days Edom revolted from under the hand of Judah, and they set a king over themselves.

21. యెహోరాము తన రథములన్నిటిని తీసికొని పోయి జాయీరు అను స్థల మునకు వచ్చి రాత్రివేళ లేచి తన చుట్టునున్న ఎదోమీయులను రథములమీది అధిపతులను హతముచేయగా జనులు తమ తమ గుడారములకు పారిపోయిరి.

21. And Joram went over to Zair, and all the chariots with him; and he rose up by night, and smote the Edomites who had surrounded him, and the captains of the chariots; and the people fled into their tents.

22. అయితే నేటివరకును ఎదోమీయులు తిరుగుబాటు చేసి యూదా వారికి లోబడకయే యున్నారు. మరియు ఆ సమయ మందు లిబ్నా పట్టణమును తిరుగబడెను.

22. But the Edomites revolted from under the hand of Judah unto this day. Then Libnah revolted at the same time.

23. యెహోరాము చేసిన యితర కార్యములను గూర్చియు, అతడు చేసిన దాని నంతటినిగూర్చియు యూదా రాజుల వృత్తాంతముల గ్రంథమందు వ్రాయబడి యున్నది.

23. And the rest of the acts of Joram and all that he did, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah?

24. యెహోరాము తన పితరులతో కూడ నిద్రించి తన పితరుల సమాధిలో దావీదుపురమునందు పాతిపెట్టబడెను. అతని కుమారుడైన అహజ్యా అతనికి మారుగా రాజాయెను.

24. And Joram slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in the city of David; and Ahaziah his son reigned in his stead.

25. అహాబు కుమారుడును ఇశ్రాయేలు రాజునైన యెహోరాము ఏలు బడిలో పండ్రెండవ సంవత్సరమందు యూదా రాజైన యెహోరాము కుమారుడైన అహజ్యా యేల నారంభించెను.

25. In the twelfth year of Joram the son of Ahab, king of Israel, Ahaziah the son of Jehoram, king of Judah, began to reign.

26. అహజ్యా యేలనారంభించినప్పుడు ఇరువది రెండేండ్ల వాడై యుండి యెరూషలేములో ఒక సంవత్సరము ఏలెను. అతని తల్లిపేరు అతల్యా; ఈమె ఇశ్రాయేలు రాజైన ఒమీ కుమార్తె.

26. Ahaziah was twenty-two years old when he began to reign; and he reigned one year in Jerusalem; and his mother's name was Athaliah, the daughter of Omri king of Israel.

27. అతడు అహాబు కుటుంబికుల ప్రవర్తనను అనుసరించుచు, వారివలెనే యెహోవా దృష్టికి చెడు తనము జరిగించెను; అతడు అహాబు ఇంటివారికి అల్లుడు.

27. And he walked in the way of the house of Ahab, and did evil in the sight of Jehovah, like the house of Ahab; for he was the son-in-law of the house of Ahab.

28. అతడు అహాబు కుమారుడైన యెహోరాముతోకూడ రామోత్గిలాదునందు సిరియా రాజైన హజాయేలుతో యుద్ధముచేయ బయలుదేరగా సిరియనులు యెహోరా మును గాయపరచిరి.

28. And he went with Joram the son of Ahab to the war against Hazael the king of Syria at Ramoth-Gilead; and the Syrians wounded Joram.

29. రాజైన యెహోరాము సిరియా రాజైన హజాయేలుతో రామాలో యుద్ధము చేసినప్పుడు సిరియనులవలన తాను పొందిన గాయములను బాగుచేసి కొనుటకై యెజ్రెయేలు ఊరికి తిరిగి రాగా యూదా రాజైన యెహోరాము కుమారుడైన అహజ్యా అహాబు కుమారుడైన యెహోరాము రోగి యాయెనని తెలిసికొని అతని దర్శించుటకై యెజ్రెయేలు ఊరికి వచ్చెను.

29. And king Joram returned to be healed in Jizreel of the wounds that the Syrians had given him at Ramah, when he fought with Hazael king of Syria. And Ahaziah the son of Jehoram, king of Judah, went down to see Joram the son of Ahab at Jizreel, for he was sick.
