1. అహాబు కుమారుడైన యెహోరాము యూదా రాజైన యెహోషాపాతు ఏలుబడిలో పదునెనిమిదవ సంవత్సరమందు షోమ్రోనులో ఇశ్రాయేలువారికి రాజై పండ్రెండు సంవత్సరములు ఏలెను.

1. Joram became king of Israel in Samaria. It was in the 18th year that Jehoshaphat was king of Judah. Joram ruled for 12 years. He was the son of Ahab.

2. ఇతడు తన తలి దండ్రులు చేసిన ప్రకారము చేయక, తన తండ్రి నిలిపిన బయలుదేవతా స్తంభమును తీసివేసెను గాని యెహోవా దృష్టికి చెడుతనము చేయుట మానకుండెను

2. Joram did what was evil in the sight of the Lord. But he wasn't as bad as his father and mother had been. His father had made a sacred stone that was used to worship the god Baal. Joram got rid of it.

3. ఇశ్రాయేలు వారు పాపము చేయుటకు కారకుడగు నెబాతు కుమారుడైన యరొబాము చేసిన పాపములను విడువక చేయుచునే వచ్చెను.

3. But he kept on committing the sins of Jeroboam, the son of Nebat. Jeroboam had also caused Israel to commit those same sins. Joram didn't turn away from them.

4. మోయాబు రాజైన మేషా అనేకమైన మందలుగల వాడై లక్ష గొఱ్ఱెపిల్లలను బొచ్చుగల లక్ష గొఱ్ఱెపొట్టేళ్లను ఇశ్రాయేలురాజునకు పన్నుగా ఇచ్చుచుండువాడు.

4. Mesha raised sheep. He was king of Moab. He had to supply the king of Israel with 100,000 lambs a year. He also had to supply him with the wool of 100,000 rams a year.

5. అయితే అహాబు మరణమైన తరువాత మోయాబురాజు ఇశ్రాయేలురాజుమీద తిరుగుబాటు చేయగా

5. Ahab died. Moab's king refused to obey the next king of Israel.

6. యెహో రాము షోమ్రోనులోనుండి బయలుదేరి ఇశ్రాయేలువారినందరిని సమకూర్చెను.

6. So at that time King Joram started out from Samaria. He gathered all of Israel's troops together.

7. యూదారాజైన యెహోషా పాతునకు వర్తమానము పంపిమోయా బురాజు నామీద తిరుగుబాటు చేసియున్నాడు; నీవు వచ్చి నాతోకూడ మోయాబీయులతో యుద్ధము చేసెదవా అని యడుగగా అతడునేను నీవాడనైయున్నాను, నా జనులు నీ జనులే, నా గుఱ్ఱములు నీ గుఱ్ఱములే; నేను బయలుదేరి వచ్చెదనని ప్రత్యుత్తరమిచ్చెను.

7. He also sent a message to Jehoshaphat, the king of Judah. It said, 'The king of Moab is refusing to obey me. Will you go with me to fight against Moab?' 'Yes. I'll go with you,' he replied. 'My men will go with you. My horses will also go with you.'

8. మనము ఏ మార్గమున పోవుదమని యెహోషాపాతు అడుగగా అతడుఎదోము అరణ్య మార్గమున పోవుదుమని చెప్పెను.

8. What road should we take to attack Moab?' Joram asked. 'The one that goes through the Desert of Edom,' Jehoshaphat answered.

9. ఇశ్రాయేలురాజును యూదారాజును ఎదోమురాజును బయలుదేరి యేడు దిన ములు చుట్టు తిరిగిన తరువాత, వారితో కూడనున్న దండువారికిని పశువులకును నీళ్లు లేకపోయెను.

9. So the king of Israel started out. The king of Judah and the king of Edom went with him. Their armies marched around the southern end of the Dead Sea. After seven days they ran out of water. There wasn't any water for the men or their animals.

10. ఇశ్రా యేలురాజుకటకటా ముగ్గురు రాజులమైన మనలను మోయాబీయులచేతికి అప్పగింపవలెనని యెహోవా మనలను పిలిచెననగా

10. What should we do now?' exclaimed the king of Israel. 'The Lord has called us three kings together. Did he do it only to hand us over to Moab?'

11. యెహోషా పాతు అతనిద్వారా మనము యెహోవాయొద్ద విచారణచేయుటకు యెహోవా ప్రవక్తలలో ఒకడైనను ఇచ్చట లేడా అని యడిగెను. అంతట ఇశ్రాయేలురాజు సేవకులలో ఒకడుఏలీయా చేతులమీద నీళ్లుపోయుచు వచ్చిన1షాపాతు కుమారుడైన ఎలీషా ఇక్కడ ఉన్నాడని చెప్పగా

11. But Jehoshaphat asked, 'Isn't there a prophet of the Lord here? Can't we ask the Lord for advice through him?' An officer of the king of Israel spoke up. He answered, 'Elisha is here. He's the son of Shaphat. Elisha used to serve Elijah.'

12. యహోషాపాతు యెహోవా ఆజ్ఞ యితని ద్వారామనకు దొరుకుననెను. ఇశ్రాయేలురాజును యెహోషాపాతును ఎదోమురాజును అతని యొద్దకుపోగా

12. Jehoshaphat said, 'The Lord speaks through him.' So the king of Israel went down to see Elisha. Jehoshaphat and the king of Edom also went there.

13. ఎలీషా ఇశ్రాయేలురాజును చూచినాతో నీకు నిమిత్తమేమి? నీ తలిదండ్రులుంచుకొనిన ప్రవక్తలయొద్దకు పొమ్మని చెప్పెను. ఆలాగనవద్దు, మోయాబీయులచేతికి అప్పగింపవలెనని యెహోవా, రాజులమైన మా ముగ్గురిని పిలిచెనని ఇశ్రాయేలురాజు అతనితో అనినప్పుడు

13. Elisha spoke to the king of Israel. He said, 'What do you and I have in common? Go to your father's prophets. Go to your mother's prophets.' 'No,' the king of Israel answered. 'The Lord called us three kings together. He did it to hand us over to Moab.'

14. ఎలీషా ఇట్లనెనుఎవని సన్నిధిని నేను నిలువబడియున్నానో, ఇశ్రాయేలు దేవుడైన ఆ యెహోవా జీవముతోడు యూదారాజైన యెహోషా పాతును నేను గౌరవము చేయనియెడల నిన్ను చూచుటకైనను లక్ష్యపెట్టుటకైనను ఒప్పకపోదును.

14. Elisha said, 'I serve the Lord who rules over all. You can be sure that he lives. And you can be just as sure that I have respect for Jehoshaphat, the king of Judah. If I didn't, I wouldn't look at you or even notice you.

15. నాయొద్దకు వీణ వాయించగల యొకనిని తీసి కొనిరమ్ము. వాద్యకు డొకడు వచ్చి వాయించుచుండగా యెహోవా హస్తము అతనిమీదికి వచ్చెను గనుక అతడు ఈ మాట ప్రకటన చేసెను.

15. But now bring me someone who plays the harp.' While that person was playing the harp, the Lord's powerful hand came on Elisha.

16. యెహోవా సెలవిచ్చినదేమనగాఈ లోయలో చాలా గోతులను త్రవ్వించుడి;

16. Elisha announced, 'The Lord says, 'Dig a lot of ditches in this valley.'

17. యెహోవా సెలవిచ్చునదేమనగాగాలియే గాని వర్షమే గాని రాక పోయినను, మీరును మీ మందలును మీ పశువులును త్రాగుటకు ఈ లోయ నీళ్లతో నిండును.

17. Do it because the Lord says, 'You will not see wind or rain. But this valley will be filled with water. Then you, your cattle and your other animals will have water to drink.'

18. ఇది యెహోవా దృష్టికి అల్పమే, ఆయన మోయాబీయులను మీచేతికి అప్పగించును.

18. That's an easy thing for the Lord to do. He will also hand Moab over to you.

19. మీరు ప్రాకారములుగల ప్రతి పట్టణమును రమ్యమైన ప్రతి పట్టణమును కొల్లబెట్టి, మంచి చెట్లనెల్ల నరికి, నీళ్ల బావులన్నిటిని పూడ్చి, సమస్తమైన మంచి భూములను రాళ్లతో నెరిపివేయుదురు అనెను.

19. You will destroy every city that has high walls around it. You will destroy every major town. You will cut down every good tree. You will stop up all of the springs of water. And you will cover every good field with stones.'

20. ఉదయ నైవేద్యము అర్పించు సమయమందు నీళ్లు ఎదోము మార్గమున రాగా దేశము నీళ్లతో నిండెను.

20. The next day, the time came to offer the morning sacrifice. And then it happened! Water was flowing from the direction of Edom! In fact, the land was filled with water!

21. తమతో యుద్ధము చేయుటకు రాజులు వచ్చియున్నారని మోయాబీయులు విని, అల్పులనేమి ఘనులనేమి ఆయుధములు ధరించుకొనగల వారినందరిని సమకూర్చు కొని దేశపు సరిహద్దునందు నిలిచిరి.

21. Now all of the people of Moab had heard that the kings had come to fight against them. So Moab sent for all of its fighting men. It didn't matter whether they were young or old. They sent for everyone who could carry a weapon. All of them were stationed at the border.

22. ఉదయమందు వీరు లేచినప్పుడు సూర్యుడు నీళ్లమీద ప్రకాశింపగా, అవతలి నీళ్లు మోయాబీయులకు రక్తమువలె కనబడెను

22. They got up early in the morning. The sun was already shining on the water. Across the way, the water looked red to the men of Moab. It looked like blood.

23. గనుక వారు అది రక్తము సుమా; రాజులు ఒకరినొకరు హతము చేసికొని నిజముగా హతులైరి; మోయాబీయులారా, దోపుడు సొమ్ము పట్టుకొందము రండని చెప్పుకొనిరి.

23. 'That's blood!' they said. 'Those kings must have fought and killed each other. Let's go, Moab! Let's take everything that has any value.'

24. వారు ఇశ్రాయేలువారి దండుదగ్గరకు రాగా ఇశ్రాయేలీయులు లేచి వారిని హతము చేయుచుండిరి గనుక మోయాబీయులు వారియెదుట నిలువలేక పారిపోయిరి; ఇశ్రా యేలీయులు వారి దేశములో చొరబడి మోయాబీయులను హతము చేసిరి.

24. So the men of Moab went to the camp of Israel. Just as they arrived there, the men of Israel got ready to fight. They fought against the men of Moab until they ran away. The men of Israel marched into the land and attacked it. They killed the people of Moab.

25. మరియు వారు పట్టణములను పడ గొట్టి, సమస్తమైన మంచి భూభాగములమీదను తలయొక రాయి వేసి నింపి, నీళ్ల బావులన్నిటిని పూడ్చి, మంచి చెట్లన్నిటిని నరికివేసిరి. కీర్హరెశెతు పట్టణమును మాత్రము వారు విడిచిపెట్టిరి గనుక దాని ప్రాకారము నిలిచి యుండెను గాని వడిసెలలు విసరువారు దాని చుట్టుకొని రాళ్లు విసరుచు వచ్చిరి.

25. They destroyed the towns. Each man threw a large stone on every good field. They did that until the fields were covered. They stopped up all of the springs of water. And they cut down every good tree. The only town that was left with any stones in place was Kir Hareseth. But men who were armed with slings surrounded it. Then they attacked it.

26. మోయాబురాజు యుద్ధము బహు కఠినముగా జరుగుట చూచి కత్తిదూయు ఏడువందల మందిని ఏర్పరచుకొని, ఎదోమురాజునొద్దకు తీసికొని పోవు టకు యత్నించెను గాని అది వారివలన కాకపోయెను.

26. The king of Moab saw that the battle had gone against him. So he took with him 700 men who had swords. They tried to break through the battle lines to the king of Edom. But they couldn't do it.

27. అప్పుడతడు తనకు మారుగా ఏలవలసిన తన జ్యేష్ఠ కుమారుని తీసికొని, పట్టణపు ప్రాకారముమీద దహన బలిగా అర్పిం పగా ఇశ్రాయేలు వారిమీదికి కోపము బహుగా వచ్చెను గనుక వారు అతనిని విడిచి తమ దేశమునకు మరలిపోయిరి.

27. Then the king of Moab got his oldest son. He was the son who would become the next king after him. He offered his son as a sacrifice on the city wall. That shocked and terrified the men of Israel. So they pulled back. And they returned to their own land.
