1. అప్పుడు రాజు యూదా పెద్దలనందరినియెరూషలేము పెద్దలనందరిని తనయొద్దకు పిలువనంపించి

1. And then the king sent and gathered unto him all the elders of Juda and of Jerusalem.

2. యూదావారినందరిని యెరూషలేము కాపురస్థులనందరిని, యాజకులను ప్రవక్తలను అల్పులనేమి ఘనులనేమి జనులందరిని పిలుచుకొని, యెహోవా మందిరమునకు వచ్చి వారు వినుచుండగా, యెహోవా మందిరమందు దొరకిన నిబంధన గ్రంథములోని మాటలన్నిటిని చదివించెను.

2. And the king went up into the house of the LORD, and all the men of Juda and all the inhabiters of Jerusalem with him, and the priests and the Prophets and all the people both small and great. And he read in the ears of them all the words of the book of the covenant, which was found in the house of the LORD.

3. రాజు ఒక స్తంభముదగ్గర నిలిచియెహోవా మార్గములయందు నడచి, ఆయన ఆజ్ఞలను కట్టడలను శాసనములను పూర్ణహృదయముతోను పూర్ణాత్మ తోను గైకొని, యీ గ్రంథమందు వ్రాయబడియున్న నిబంధన సంబంధమైన మాటలన్నిటిని స్థిరపరచుదుమని యెహోవా సన్నిధిని నిబంధన చేయగా జనులందరు ఆ నిబంధనకు సమ్మతించిరి.

3. And the king stood by a pillar and made a covenant before the LORD that they should walk after the LORD, and keep his commandments and his witnesses and his ordinances with all their hearts and all their souls, and make good the words of the said appointment that were written in the foresaid book. And all the people consented to the appointment.

4. రాజుబయలు దేవతకును అషేరా దేవికిని నక్షత్రములకును చేయబడిన ఉపకరణము లన్నిటి యెహోవా ఆలయములోనుండి ఇవతలకు తీసికొని రావలెనని ప్రధానయాజకుడైన హిల్కీయాకును రెండవ వరుస యాజకులకును ద్వారపాలకులకును ఆజ్ఞ ఇయ్యగా హిల్కీయా వాటిని యెరూషలేము వెలుపల కిద్రోను పొలములో కాల్చివేసి, బూడిదెను బేతేలు ఊరికి పంపి వేసెను.

4. And the king commanded Helkiah the high priest and the inferior priests and the keepers of the door, to bring out of the temple of the LORD, all the vessels that were made for Baal and for the grove and for all the Host of heaven. And he burnt them without Jerusalem in the fields of Cedron and carried the ashes of them into Bethel.

5. మరియు యూదా పట్టణములయం దున్న ఉన్నతస్థలములలోను యెరూషలేము చుట్టునున్న చోట్లలోను ధూపము వేయుటకై యూదారాజులు నియమించిన అర్చకులనేమి, బయలునకును సూర్యచంద్రు లకును గ్రహములకును నక్షత్రములకును ధూపము వేయు వారినేమి, అతడు అందరిని నిలిపి వేసెను.

5. And he put down the Camarites which the kings of Juda had set to burn offerings in the hillaltars in the cities of Juda round about Jerusalem and also them that burnt sacrifices unto Baal to the son and to the moon and to the planets, and to all the Host of heaven.

6. యెహోవా మందిరమందున్న అషేరాదేవి ప్రతిమను యెరూషలేము వెలుపలనున్న కిద్రోను వాగుదగ్గరకు తెప్పించి, కిద్రోను వాగు ఒడ్డున దాని కాల్చి త్రొక్కి పొడుముచేసి ఆ పొడుమును సామాన్య జనుల సమాధులమీద చల్లెను.

6. And he brought out the grove from the temple of the LORD without Jerusalem unto the brook Cedron, and stamped it to powder, and cast the dust thereof upon the graves of people of the country.

7. మరియు యెహోవా మందిరమందున్న పురుషగాముల యిండ్లను పడగొట్టించెను. అచ్చట అషేరాదేవికి గుళ్లను అల్లు స్త్రీలు వాసము చేయుచుండిరి.

7. And he brake down the cells of the male whores that were in the house of the LORD, where the women wove little houses for the grove.

8. యూదా పట్టణము లోనున్న యాజకులనందరిని అతడు అవతలికి వెళ్లగొట్టెను, గెబా మొదలుకొని బెయేర్షెబా వరకును యాజకులు ధూపమువేసిన ఉన్నతస్థలములను అతడు అపవిత్ర పరచి, పట్టణములో ప్రవేశించువాని యెడమపార్శ్వమున పట్టణపు అధికారియైన యెహోషువ గుమ్మముదగ్గరనుండు ఉన్నతస్థలములను పడగొట్టించెను.

8. And he brought all the priests out of the cities of Juda, and defiled(suspended) the hillaltars where the priests did burn sacrifice, even from Gabaa to Bersabe. And he brake down the hillaltars of the Gates, that were in the entering of the gate of Josua the governor of the city, which were on the left hand of the gate of the city.

9. అయినప్పటికి ఆ ఉన్నతస్థలములమీద నియమింపబడిన యాజకులు యెరూ షలేమందున్న యెహోవా బలిపీఠమునొద్దకు రాక తమ సహోదరులయొద్ద పులుసులేని ఆహారము భక్షించువారు.

9. Nevertheless the priests of the hillaltars might not come at the altar of the LORD in Jerusalem, save only they did eat of the sweet bread among their brethren.

10. మరియు ఎవడైనను తన కుమారునేగాని కుమార్తెనేగాని మొలెకునకు అగ్నిగుండము దాటించకుండునట్లు బెన్‌ హిన్నోము అను లోయలోనున్న తోఫెతు అను ప్రదేశ మును అతడు అపవిత్రము చేసెను.

10. And he defiled Topheth also, which is in the valley of the children of Hennom, because no man should offer his son or his daughter in fire to Moloch:

11. ఇదియుగాక అతడు యూదారాజులు సూర్యునికి ప్రతిష్ఠించిన గుఱ్ఱములను మంట పములో నివసించు పరిచారకుడైన నెతన్మెలకుయొక్క గది దగ్గర యెహోవా మందిరపు ద్వారమునొద్దనుండి తీసివేసి, సూర్యునికి ప్రతిష్ఠింపబడిన రథములను అగ్నితో కాల్చి వేసెను.

11. he put down the horses that the kings of Israel had given to the son at the entering of the house of the LORD, in the chamber of Nathanmeleh the chamberlain which was of Paruarim, and burnt the chariots of the son with fire.

12. మరియు యూదారాజులు చేయించిన ఆహాజు మేడగదిపైనున్న బలిపీఠములను, యెహోవా మందిరపు రెండు సాలలలో మనష్షే చేయించిన బలిపీఠములను రాజు పడ గొట్టించి ఛిన్నాభిన్నములుగా చేయించి ఆ ధూళిని కిద్రోను వాగులో పోయించెను.

12. And the altars that were on the top of the parlour of Ahaz which the king of Juda had made, and the altars which Manasseh had made in the two courts of the house of the LORD, the king brake down, and ran thence and cast the dust of them into the brook Cedron.

13. యెరూషలేము ఎదుట నున్న హేయమను పర్వతపు కుడిపార్శ్వమందు అష్తా రోతు అను సీదోనీయుల విగ్రహమునకును, కెమోషు అను మోయాబీయుల విగ్రహమునకును, మిల్కోము అను అమ్మోనీయుల విగ్రహమునకును ఇశ్రాయేలురాజైన సొలొ మోను కట్టించిన ఉన్నతస్థలములను రాజు అపవిత్రపరచి

13. And the hillaltars that before Jerusalem on the right hand of the mount Nashith, which Salomon king of Israel built to Astharoth the abomination of the Zidons and to Chamos the abomination of the Moabites, and to Milchom the abomination of the children of Ammon, the king defiled:

14. ఆ ప్రతిమలను తునకలుగా కొట్టించి, అషేరాదేవి ప్రతిమను పడగొట్టించి వాటి స్థానములను నరశల్యములతో నింపెను.

14. and brake the images and cut down the groves and filled the places with the bones of men.

15. బేతేలులోనున్న బలిపీఠమును ఉన్నతస్థలమును, అనగా ఇశ్రాయేలు వారు పాపము చేయుటకు కారకుడైన నెబాతు కుమారుడగు యరొబాము కట్టించిన ఆ ఉన్నత స్థలమును బలిపీఠమును అతడు పడగొట్టించి, ఆ ఉన్నత స్థలమును కాల్చి పొడుము అగునట్లుగా త్రొక్కించి అషేరాదేవి ప్రతిమను కాల్చివేసెను.

15. Moreover the altar that was at Bethel, the hillaltar made by Jeroboam the son of Nabat which made Israel sin: both the altar and also the hill he brake down and burnt the hill and stamped it to powder, and burnt the grove.

16. యోషీయా అటు తిరిగి అచ్చట పర్వతమందున్న సమాధులను చూచి కొందరిని పంపి సమాధులలోనున్న శల్యములను తెప్పించి, దైవ జనుడు యెహోవా మాట చాటించి చెప్పిన ప్రకారము వాటిని బలిపీఠముమీద కాల్చి దాని అపవిత్రపరచెను.

16. And as Josiah turned himself, he spied the graves that were in the mount and sent and fetched the bones out of the graves and burnt them upon the altar and polluted it according to the word of the LORD that the man of God had proclaimed, which openly had denounced the same things.

17. అంతట అతడునాకు కనబడుచున్న ఆ సమాధి యెవరిదని అడిగినప్పుడు పట్టణపు వారు అది యూదాదేశమునుండి వచ్చి నీవు, బేతేలులోని బలిపీఠమునకు చేసిన క్రియలను ముందుగా తెలిపిన దైవజనుని సమాధియని చెప్పిరి.

17. Then the king said: what meaneth yonder grave stone that I see? And the men of the city told him, it is the sepulchre of the man of God, which came from Juda and openly denounced the self same things that thou hast done to the altar of Bethel.

18. అందు కతడుదానిని తప్పించుడి, యెవడును అతని శల్యములను తీయకూడదని చెప్పగా వారు అతని శల్యములను షోమ్రోను పట్టణమునుండి వచ్చిన ప్రవక్త శల్యములను తప్పించిరి.

18. And he said let him be: see that no man move his bones. And so his bones escaped with the bones of a Prophet that came out of Samaria.

19. మరియు ఇశ్రాయేలు రాజులు షోమ్రోను పట్టణములలో ఏ ఉన్నతస్థలములలో మందిర ములను కట్టించి యెహోవాకు కోపము పుట్టించిరో ఆ మందిరములన్నిటిని యోషీయా తీసివేసి, తాను బేతేలులో చేసిన క్రియలన్నిటి ప్రకారము వాటికి చేసెను.

19. And thereto all the houses of the hillaltars of the cities of Samaria which the kings of Israel had made, to anger with all: Josiah put out of the way and did to them in all points as he did in Bethel.

20. అచ్చట అతడు ఉన్నతస్థలములకు నియమింపబడిన యాజ కులనందరిని బలిపీఠముల మీద చంపించి వాటిమీద నరశల్య ములను కాల్పించి యెరూషలేమునకు తిరిగి వచ్చెను.

20. And he sacrificed all the priests of the hillaltars that were there, even upon the altars, and burnt men's bones upon them, and returned to Jerusalem.

21. అంతట రాజునిబంధన గ్రంథమునందు వ్రాసి యున్న ప్రకారముగా మీ దేవుడైన యెహోవాకు పస్కాపండుగను ఆచరించుడని జనులకందరికి ఆజ్ఞా పింపగా

21. And the king commanded all the people saying: keep the feast of passover unto the LORD your God, as it is written in the book of this covenant.

22. ఇశ్రాయేలీయులకు న్యాయము నడిపించిన న్యాయాధిపతులున్న దినములనుండి ఇశ్రాయేలు రాజుల యొక్కయు యూదారాజులయొక్కయు దినములన్నిటి వరకు ఎన్నడును జరుగనంత గొప్పగా ఆ సమయమందు పస్కాపండుగ ఆచరింపబడెను.

22. For there was no passover held like that from the days of the judges that judged Israel, and thorowout all the days of the kings of Israel and of Juda.

23. ఈ పండుగ రాజైన యోషీయా యేలుబడిలో పదునెనిమిదవ సంవత్సరమందు యెరూషలేములో యెహోవాకు ఆచరింపబడెను.

23. And in the eighteenth year of king Josiah was this passover holden to the LORD in Jerusalem.

24. మరియు కర్ణపిశాచి గలవారిని సోదెచెప్పువారిని గృహ దేవతలను విగ్రహ ములను, యూదాదేశమందును యెరూష లేమునందును కనబడిన విగ్రహములన్నిటిని యోషీయా తీసివేసి, యెహోవామందిరమందు యాజకుడైన హిల్కీ యాకు దొరికిన గ్రంథమందు వ్రాసియున్న ధర్మశాస్త్ర విధులను స్థిరపరచుటకై ప్రయత్నము చేసెను.

24. And thereto workers with spirits, soothsayers, Images of witchcraft, idols and all other abominations that were spied in the land of Juda and in Jerusalem, Josiah put out of the way to make good the words of the law, which were written in the book that Helkiah the priest found in the house of the LORD:

25. అతనికి పూర్వమున్న రాజులలో అతనివలె పూర్ణహృదయముతోను పూర్ణాత్మతోను పూర్ణబలముతోను యెహోవావైపు తిరిగి మోషే నియమించిన ధర్మశాస్త్రముచొప్పున చేసినవాడు ఒకడును లేడు; అతని తరువాతనైనను అతనివంటివాడు ఒకడును లేడు.

25. like unto him was there no king before him, that turned to the LORD with all his heart, with all his soul, and all his might, according to all the law of Moses, neither after him arose there any such.

26. అయినను మనష్షే యెహోవాకు పుట్టించిన కోపమునుబట్టి ఆయన కోపాగ్ని యింకను చల్లారకుండ యూదామీద మండుచునే యుండెను.

26. Notwithstanding the LORD turned not from his fierce and great wrath wherewith he was angry against Juda upon all the provocations that Manasseh provoked him.

27. కాబట్టి యెహోవానేను ఇశ్రాయేలువారిని వెళ్లగొట్టినట్లు యూదావారిని నా సముఖమునకు దూరముగా చేసి, నేను కోరుకొనిన యెరూషలేము పట్టణమును, నా నామమును అచ్చట ఉంచుదునని నేను చెప్పియున్న మందిరమును నేను విసర్జించెదనని అనుకొనియుండెను.

27. But the LORD said: I will put Juda too, out of my sight, as I have done Israel, and will cast off this city Jerusalem which I have chosen, and the house of which I have said, my name shall be there.

28. యోషీయా చేసిన యితర కార్యములను గూర్చియు, అతడు చేసిన దానినంతటినిగూర్చియు యూదారాజుల వృత్తాంత ముల గ్రంథమందు వ్రాయబడియున్నది.

28. The rest of the deeds of Josiah and all he did are written in the book of the stories of the kings of Juda.

29. అతని దినముల యందు ఐగుప్తురాజైన ఫరోనెకో అష్షూరురాజుతో యుద్ధముచేయుటకై యూఫ్రటీసునది దగ్గరకు వెళ్లుచుండగా తన్ను ఎదుర్కొనవచ్చిన రాజైన యోషీయాను మెగిద్దో దగ్గర కనుగొని అతని చంపెను.

29. In his days Pharao Necoh king of Egypt went against the king of Assiria to the river of Euphrates. And king Josiah went against him, and was slain of him at Magedo when he had seen him.

30. అతని సేవకులు అతని శవమును రథముమీద ఉంచి, మెగిద్దోనుండి యెరూష లేమునకు తీసికొనివచ్చి అతని సమాధియందు పాతిపెట్టిరి. అప్పుడు దేశపు జనులు యోషీయా కుమారుడైన యెహో యాహాజును తీసికొని అతనికి పట్టాభిషేకముచేసి అతని తండ్రికి మారుగా అతనిని రాజుగానుంచిరి.

30. And his servants carried him dead from Magedo and brought him to Jerusalem and buried him in his own sepulchre. And the people of the land took Jehoahaz the son of Josiah and anointed him and made him king in his father's room.

31. యెహోయాహాజు ఏలనారంభించినప్పుడు ఇరువది మూడేండ్లవాడై యెరూషలేములో మూడు మాసములు ఏలెను. అతని తల్లి లిబ్నా ఊరివాడైన యిర్మీయా కుమార్తె యగు హమూటలు.

31. And Jehoahaz was twenty three year old when he began to reign and reigned three months in Jerusalem. His mother's name was Namital the daughter of Jeremiah of Lobnah.

32. ఇతడు తన పితరులు చేసినదంతటి ప్రకారముగా యెహోవా దృష్టికి చెడునడత నడచెను.

32. And he did that displeased the LORD, in all things as his fathers had done.

33. ఇతడు యెరూషలేములో ఏలుబడి చేయకుండ ఫరోనెకో హమాతు దేశమందున్న రిబ్లా పట్టణమందు అతనిని బంధక ములలో ఉంచి, దేశముమీద ఏబది మణుగుల వెండిని, రెండు మణుగుల బంగారమును పన్నుగా నిర్ణయించి

33. And Pharao Necoh put him in bonds at Reblah in the land of Hemath in the time of his reign in Jerusalem, and put the land to a tribute of an hundredth talents of silver and a talent of gold.

34. యోషీయా కుమారుడైన ఎల్యాకీమును అతని తండ్రియైన యోషీయాకు మారుగా రాజుగా నియమించి, అతనికి యెహోయాకీమను మారుపేరుపెట్టి యెహోయాహాజు ఐగుప్తుదేశమునకు కొనిపోగా అతడచ్చట మృతిబొందెను.

34. And Pharao Necoh made Eliakim the son of Josiah king in the room of Josiah his father, and turned his name to Jehoakim, and took Jehoahaz away which when he came to Egypt died there.

35. యెహోయాకీము ఫరో యిచ్చిన ఆజ్ఞచొప్పున దేశముమీద పన్ను నిర్ణయించి ఆ వెండి బంగారములను ఫరోకు చెల్లించుచువచ్చెను. దేశపు జనులయొద్దనుండి వారి వారికి నిర్ణయమైన చొప్పున వసూలుచేసి అతడు ఫరోనెకోకు చెల్లించెను.

35. And Jehoakim gave the silver and the gold to Pharao: how be it he taxed the land, to give the money at the commandment of Pharao and as every man was set at, so he required the silver and the gold of the people of the land, to give Pharao Necoh.

36. యెహోయాకీము ఏలనారంభించినప్పుడు ఇరువది యయిదేండ్లవాడై యెరూషలేమున పదకొండు సంవత్సర ములు ఏలెను. అతని తల్లి రూమా ఊరివా డైన పెదాయా కుమార్తెయగు జెబూదా.

36. Jehoakim was twenty five year old when he began to reign, and he reigned an eleven year in Jerusalem. His mother was named Zebda the daughter of Phadaiah of Ramah.

37. ఇతడును తన పితరుల చర్యలన్నిటి ప్రకారముగా యెహోవా దృష్టికి చెడునడతనడిచెను.

37. And he did that was evil favoured in the sight of the LORD, like in all things as did his fathers.
